Im sorry if this has already been discussed but i couldnt put into words really for a search criteria, im sure im not the only person with this problem.
When an SMS arrives a little green 1 will show by the "letter" on touchFLO 3d, sometimes when you scroll to read the message the little green 1 (or 2 or whatever) doesnt disappear and i have to keep clicking the mail icon, or go into the WM6 message inbox to change it from "New" to "Read".
I think it happens with the email part too, not just SMS.
Anyone know how to solve this, it's as annoying as thrush.

It's annoyingly slow to register as read... there may be a registry tweak but a search revealed nothing yet
Thats a Shame I really thought someone else would have susses this with all the tweaks and tidbits.
I am having the same problem but with the email notification. Anyone have any ideas?

Just try to click on the message and it will be open in the text mode and then close it.
I guess what the last post suggests doesn't work for the OP, at least it doesn't work for me. None of my messages are highlighted as 'unread', yet the 'unread SMS' notification at in TouchFlo doesn't disappear.
Anyone has any idea how to get rid of it ?

Guys,
Check your Outlook inbox to make sure there is no unread mails there. The TF3D does not show the Outlook account but the counter in the mail tab does.
I solved my problem that way.

unfortunately it turns out the cab works only until i recieve a new message, after that the '1 unread message' notification appears again and stays even after i've read the new message.... so i'm back to where I started.
still thanks for the help. any other ideas ?
came across this bit of software but don't know whether it'll act any different from the cab.
Have you looked through every folder in the account-tree yet? Make sure they're all being synchronised as some Imap\webmail accounts can act funny (Inbox\Menu\Tools\Manage folders).
But perhaps the only thing left is to backup and hard reset (without backing up the mailfolders of course)? And otherwise it means executing the cab every time it happens again..

Hi guys,
I have a confirmation after a SMS is sent. Telling me "the sms is sent"
and an enveloppe will show at the top of the XDA2 (the same enveloppe you got when you received an Email)
But the enveloppe Icon won't go?? Unless I do a reset???
If I get an SMS and I read the SMS, then the Icon will go away.
But in this case since this is just a confirmation, and there is no SMS to read. I can't get the icon to leave??

This happens to me as well from time to time...I think it has to do with if you come out of the Inbox applet a little too soon, or sometimes if you don't click on the envelope icon once it appears.
One of those annoying little things but I don't think it does any harm to your messages or anything. A soft reset always clears it for me.

Exactly as Anton says (same on XDAI). If you send an SMS message and exit the INBOX too quickly, the "sent" envelope gets stuck.

never happent to me but i have heard that people with pocket plus who have not removed the option where it really do close applications insted of just minimizing them having this problem

My problem is even worst! Sometimes, when I send an sms the small box-icon remains there and if I tap on it,..the beneficiary gets another sms once again!!
I have Spb Poket Plus & Spb Full Screen keyboard installed. Maybe it's due to those software!
iv been getting this with my m1000
and wadda ya kno.... iv got pocket plus running with the "close" option bit....

and do use the REAL close option
cant you just wait untill the sms is sent before
you close outlook
imho then the real close option is a bit of a problem
because ms never ment programs to be closed that way / at all
Hi there,...I contacted Sbp software and explain the problem,... I disabilited the "really close option" and the problem never appears. ... I close applications manually.

i dont really see it as sbp's problem but more as outlooks problem
if their request to send get messed up because of the sender being killed it's not really sbp's problem it's the way outlook is
of cause one may think it odd that sbp make their closing the default option

Of course you are right! it's not sbp's problem. I immediately supposed it's an outlook problem. I really hope future versions of outlook would consider this fact. But the important for me was to stop SMS problems. Disallowing "close all" option solved it. And for me (and I think other people having this problem) it's more than acceptable.

You need to add tmail.exe to the programs the Plus 2.0 marks as exceptions.
you need to open your inbox,then open Options of Plus 2.0 and add in the exceptions the last program opened(in this case the sms program which you opened...tmail.exe)

After my previous post, I added tmail.exe as exception,... The application didn't close. Good, I sent an sms. the icon didn't froze,...but my girlfriend got -3- sms
I think we only have to renounce "really close" function.
Yesterday I noticed that I don't longer hear the SMS incoming sound (doesn't matter which soundfile is selected).
The message arrives and thats it no indication by either blinking, vibrating or alarm.
The problem only occurres with SMS, Emails and MMS are being notified in every possible way as it should be.
I had this problems once before and ended up with hardresetting my terra. Don't want to do that everytime.
I also noticed that the SMS/Text Message account in Pocket Outlook isn't displayed anymore just Outlook and MMS is avaible from the menu.
To avoid misunderstandigs I do receive SMSes and can open them at any time from Pocket Outlook. Just getting no notification alerts and missing the SMS account settings inside Outlook
Anykind of help or a link is very much appreciated.

I think i ve got a more serious problem, with the same effects.
I can't see anything else at Messaging accounts, only a "Setup E-mail" button (no messages). I tried to set up an e-mail, but when i finished it goes back to the account select screen, and still only one option, to add a new email account.
After i press X and reactivate the screen on the Task Manager, i can see the Outlook's Inbox, but when i see the folders there arent messages only the Outlook e-mail.
I added the registry key you said, because there was only one key in that folder (nosentmessages 1), nothing changed.
I cooked this rom in my own, had i something missed to put in? If yes, are there any way to install that thing without recooking the rom?

Wow, that's a pretty old post of mine you digged out.

Is there any way to reset the unread mail count in TouchFlo 3D? On the slider at the bottom I have a one too many unread count (since my last hard reset), I've tried to use the fixunreadcount tool available on FreewarePPC.com but this doesn't notice the problem, does anyone know of another way to fix this problem? Many thanks in advance!
Go into your inbox, open the folder view, and look in a different account; you might have the "Welcome to Outlook" or whatever message left over somewhere.

Mine was the 'Email Tips and Tricks' email automatically created in my Outlook Inbox. Did not find it earlier cos I don't use Outlook and I don't have Outlook setup as a tab in TF3D. Must have got there the one and only time I connected to my PC using ActiveSync. Seems obvious when you know how!

Hi all, did a quick search to find nothing related to the below:
I am having hard time knowing which SMS I have replied, or which email I have forwarded.
The icon in the inbox never changes, only an unread messages becomes read but no indication if it has been replied or forwarded.

Hi GoldCoin, I have checked HD Tweak and found that you can get sent notifications although this is not necessary.
What I meant was, when you reply to a SMS the icon in the inbox should change. An example, you can go to your hotmail account and reply to an e-mail or forward and you will notice the envelope gets marked that it has been replied/forwarded too.

I'm looking for the same feature.
I recently changed from 6.1 to 6.5 on my diamond, don't remember the name of that rom. But i actually had the feature.
However i've now changed to a different 6.5 (lower mem. usage), and it doesn't have the feature, i'd be very happy to hear from anyone who knows the solution. Will keep investigating myself though
Ironic, it's a business phone and they forgot the icons. Work around, I have added 2 additional folder in my email inbox: Replied and Review. Once I have replied an e-mail I move the message to Replied folder, that way I can track which ones I have left to reply. Other e-mails that need reviewing goes into the Review folder which I usually access through the PC due to it either being a large excel/presentation or just a forwarded email.

I could have sworn that my original stock ROM had those little icons. I think it was the same envelope icon with a little green arrow on it.
I'm now using Dutty's 3.7 XT ROM and all the icons (in the windows sms application) are the same.
Does anyone else also remember that icon I described, or am I just imagening things?
One thing I do notice is in the SMS/MMS inbox.
If you have it set up to "threaded view", then in the list of messages in the inbox, it will show a short preview of the last message in the thread. If you wrote the last message, then the preview starts with "Me:". That's a quick way to know if you responded to a given text message.
However, the problem still remains when using emails.
I hope someone can figure this one out.

I posted a question about it in Dutty's 3.7 ROM thread, but I haven't had any responses.
Well, i found out that the rom I was using, was one of Lobsterdave's...
However i also found out, that on my current rom (6.5) if I: open the inbox, press a message to open it, and use the reply soft-key, it will actually work.
A bit teedious, but the only way for now.
I asked in the thread of the rom, and wasn't really supplied with anything useable. Just a suggestion to cook my own rom...
I'm actually going to give a try. Until then I gotta admit... I'm starting to loose hope.
I think maybe the rhodium manilla, is able to flag messages, without opening inbox and so on. But that's not an option for me, as I'm running the old TF3D.
Got my HD2 yesterday and went through all the steps to install Kumar's rom. Everything is running great but I have just one small problem.
The e-mail notifier on the home screen shows I have 1 new message when I don't. I've tried reading all that it downloaded, deleting all e-mails, deleting e-mail account, and setting it up again. It still shows I have 1 unread e-mail.
Is there a registry key I can change to fix this problem? Or perhaps another method I have not tried yet?
Have you tired a battery pull or a soft reset. I have had this issue once before and also check in your htc mail box if there is any boxes that have unopened mail that might be it also.
Have tried resetting the device. Will check the HTC thing, if you could tell me how to find it that is...
just go to your inbox that says it has a message. on the top left if you click inbox a drop down list showing all your folders should show and check in those folders.
