First what you can try is remove battery ja sim and then put them back.
If nothing else helps final help is hardreset. NOW, REMEMBER TO TAKE BACKUP FROM YOUR CONTACTS ETC..
To perform a hard reset

programs and/or user data have been backed up before you perform a hard reset.
1. Pull out the stylus
2. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly
press the POWER button.
3. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the
screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all your settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VolUp to restore manufaturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel.
4. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
5. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
or with phone on:
To clear storage
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
Hope this solves your problem.

Hello,
Anybody can tell me how can i do hard reset this wizard ?
Thanks
Start > Settings > |System| > Clear Storage
if your device won't run properly and you can't access that:
press and hold the Comm Manager (top, left side) and Voice Command (top, right side) buttons - keep them pressed, press the stylus on the regular (soft) reset button. You'll be prompted for hard reset after that - use the green/talk button to confirm
please note that you'll lose all your data, installed applications, preferences, etc.
I did something silly. I loaded SPB Full Screen Keyboard on my U1000 but it did not work. Although it showed in the list of keyboards dropdown when selected it simply did not work. So I used SK Tools to make it the default SIP thinking maybe at reset time it will load. Well, that was not a good idea. Now my U1000 has a white screen. It still works, I can turn it off and it rings when called etc but the screen is all white. I tried ActiveSync thinking I can delete the FSK and reset again but ActiveSync did not connect.
So, is there any way I can reset the device and bypass startup, registry etc?
If not is there any way to do a hard reset without using the Clear Storage application? I am looking for a reset button + power key etc type combination like in the older HTC devices.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

I had some issues as well the first time I wanted to hard-reset my HD. But after several times, I got it. I laid down my HD, pressed the upper and lower volume button at the same time with my right hand, and pressed the power button at the same time with my left hand, and it will come.
Just try several times, and you'll get the same. But try to backup some part before if it's possible!
The one you've done (I guess) is the bootloader, which will appear when you press the volume down and power button at the same time.

I have a Dutch device, so I don't know exactly how it's called in the English rom. But this is what I did:
Goto 'Settings' => 'System' and then something called 'Opslag wissen' in the Dutch rom. In english it would be something like 'Delete data'.
When you do that you are asked to enter "1234" and press the YES button. After that, the default settings are restored and all data is deleted.
Now this is my issue: I had installed several programs on the memory card and they are stil there, which is good. They even work after the reset, which is also good. But I can't put them in the programs menu or programs tab anymore, which is not good.
Does anyone know how to solve this? Or do I have to get rid of all the programs and reinstall them again?
Grtz,
Thijs
Re-install the applications..
Hey.. I think the easyest is to re-install the applications... Just because you choose to install them om the memorycard, the software stills place som files in windows system files...
backup
just to be sure i always have a map on external storage with all the cab files i installed. in case of hard reset ik can always reinstall everything whereever i am.

@GreenFrog Thanks for the quick reply!
Now i know what I was doing wrong, I pressed the upper and lower volume button at the same time pressing the power button, but I'm instantly hold the powerbutton down, instead of pressing it one's!
But the mean problem for all this misery was a corrupted SD-Card (There were no more Apps installed, something had blow them away, the directory Programfiles was complet empty), the device couldn't start up Windows Mobile. When I remove the SD-card everything works fine again, except that i have to re-install all apps. This looks very strang to me, never had such an issue before!
the trick is to hold both the volume keys down and to press the power button just once. It will not work if you hold down the power button while the device is turning on.
Hope this helps
This also stumped me for a while.
The difference between going to the bootloader and doing a hard reset is that to do hard reset, you press BOTH the up and down side of the volume key whereas to go to bootloader, you press only the lower side of the volume key. In both cases, you press the power button.
Remember to do this after shutting down the device.
The approach of going into setting and do a clear storage is fine as long as the device is not frozen up yet.
Hope this makes it clearer for everyone.

You beat me to it, but yes, listen to the man, as he knows what he's talking bout
I know directions say to press and hold X and power button, then to close the slider and press volume up and camera at the same time. However once I get to the droid screen with the yellow triangle the volume up and camera, pressing volume up and camera does nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

Turn the headset off
Hold the X on the keyboard and Power Button until a yellow triangle appears on your screen
Hit the Search button on the keyboard (the magnifying glass) This will start the recovery console
Using the volume up/down keys highlight the desired recovery action, then select it by pressing the camera button.
Textual status data appear at the bottom of the screen (mine was yellow)
Using the volume up/down buttons highlight "Reboot System Now" then select by using the camera button.
Once the handset reboots, "Welcome to Android/Start up screen appears"; from here everyone should know what to do
