12/23/08 Update - this case DOES work, but with some easy modification. Read the thread to see the sanding I did on the inside. Took about 3 minutes and case has been working perfectly since.
UPDATE - 12/20/08 -I just got home from the gym and this case does cause some problems. After having it on for a few days the screen stopped working when the cover was on. From my investigating it seems to put to much pressure on the upper left corner of the case/screen, causing the screen to stop responding to touch commands. I have taken the case off and there are no issues at all with the phone, so clearly the case is the problem. I am not sure why it worked perfectly for a few days and then started having issues, but it did. Going to try to sand down the inside a little (pictures posted in this thread)
-----------------
I found this one recommended in one of the many threads on this site about cases for my Fuze. I had a similar thin hard case for all of my Blackberry phones in the past, so I was enthusiastic about this one when I first saw it. Also for $10 it was worth checking out. I received it today and it really fits well on the phone and barely adds any size to the unit. Here are the pictures (below and attached) and a link to where I bought it from at the bottom.
1) I put it on and took it off and it looks like it does not scratch or damage the phone in any way.
2) you can also add a belt clip (see square hole on the back of the case.
3) I am able to reach all buttons, stylus, etc with no issues at all.
4) It is MUCH easier to hold the phone and type now and it is not slippery at all and no more finger print issues.

Delivered in under a week, which was excellent
Looks decent.. what does it feel like? I have an incase slider case for my ipod touch 2g and its possibly the best material for a case that i've felt
Perfect timing on this review, I just purchased one on Ebay last Friday! For the cheap price, I figured I was taking a gamble on build quality and fit. Glad to see that it is working well for you. I'm looking forward to getting mine soon so I don't have to worry as much about dropping my Fuze!

It is plastic I think, but has a soft rubber like feel.

the screen is still exposed, but you are correct. It would be a lot harder to hurt it now with the corners and border protected. For $10 it is a steal so far.

I've had my case installed a couple of days now, and I've noticed this behavior the last couple evenings: the screen eventually becomes unresponsive. I do keep my fuze in my pocket, so maybe some additional pressure is being applied to the edges of the screen. Removing the top cover (not trivial due to the tight fit) resolves the problem. I'm thinking that maybe there is not enough room on the edges of the screen.
Are you experiencing similar issues with this case?
thanks!
No, so far I am not experiencing any of those types of issues and my Fuze seems to be working with no issues. I can tell you that I was told by the AT&T store, and have read other threads on the net, that the phone seems to have issues ANYTIME the screen is pressed against continually or for a long period of time. It might be being in your pocket is causing the issue as you suggested.
Maybe looser pants, haha, only kidding

I saw in another thread where someone trimmed that corner of the case a bit, and said it worked great. Someone else said they took a dremel to theirs and it worked too. I realize that's not even close to the ideal solution, but thought I'd offer it to you anyway.

Thanks for the advice. My question is this, WHY would it work for a few days PERFECTLY and then start creating the problems all of a sudden? Strange.

Found the other thread, which is for the case being sold at the AT & T store; I guess it was recalled for this same problem. Sounds like a simple emery board solved the problem for some people; I think I may give that a try. Until then, I'm only keeping the back cover on so I at least have some protection...

I thought about doing that and keeping just the back on also, but it looks weird. I think I am going try to shave it down a little tonight and see what happens.
Last night using my wife's nail files, which have rounded ends that fit well against the inside of the cover, I sanded down the inside upper left part of the case and put it back on. It seems to be working currently. I will sand more if the same problem happens again. I really like this case so hope it works.
Update - just got back from over an hour at the gym and so far the screen is still working with the shaved down case on it. Now it did work for a few days the first time and then stopped, so we will see if it happens again. But so far, after shaving the inside of the case down a little last night, it seems to be working with the FUZE again.
I have attached some pics
Thanks For the Update

Thanks for this post, I am finally getting my Fuze this weekend and bought this case a few days ago just to be ready. I read about your problem with the case and I hope that your initial sanding attempts work out for you. Thanks again for posting all the pictures throughout this thread!
no problem. The issue IS DEFINETELY the inside upper left of the case that pushes to hard on the screen. It worked fine all day, and then after being in my pocket started acting unresponsive again. once I pulled up the upper left corner, back to normal.
The ebay sellers have been very proactive with trying to help and offering me a refund or credit. We have emailed back and forth. This is the last correspondence we had.
We are not the manufacturer of cases but I will let our distributors know about the issue. You can try to modify the case. No problem if you need to return. thanks, ncp

So with that being said, I am going to sand down the inside cover a little more and just keep sanding to see what it takes to make it work. As previously stated, for only $10 I am ok not getting a refund or returning it because it really is a nice case, looks good, and protects the unit. So I will continue to "tinker" away and try to make it work!
thanks for the review. i had something similar on my htc apache and i liked it. im gonna get this one too.
I ordered this exact case off ebay before reading this thread. Hopefully we can get them to work. I really like this style case. I had the Boxwave version on my Tilt and it worked really well.

Its good to hear that the ebay seller is receptive to refunds. Keep us posted on your emery board efforts... If that doesn't work, its time to start looking at the $30 seidio innocase; hopefully that doesn't have the same problem. I've asked some folks who've ordered it to be on the lookout for this issue.

I just bought the case today... so hopefully everything works out well with the sanding.. can you post pics when you finish sanding? Just want to see where exactly I should sand down
I have this case, no problems at all with my Sprint TP. Maybe its luck, but It is an awesome cheap case. I can tell that the rubber finish will rub off sometime, but if it last for more than a few months its fine. I took a sharpy around the white parts to make it look black, but it rubs off. I'll look for some better ways of doing this...anyways, good case.

it covers:
the battery cover
the camera and most of the space around it.
the lower back(where the speaker is)
it tries to cover the chrome strip of the keyboard part
and it covers the front where the camera is.
it lacks a lot of coverage for the front

Currently, it is not available in Singapore yet so no comments.
I've heard mixed reviews about this product, but I'm also waiting for my order to come in sometime this week so I can try it out. You've already seen it on Youtube or read reviews about it, but you won't know until you try it out yourself I guess. Hope that some of us will be able to answer your question soon.
I have mine in front of me, right now. It arrived this afternoon, so i am just thinking about fitting it, either tonite, or in the morning.
It cost me $24.95, and took 4 days to be shipped from US to UK.
As soon as i have fitted it, and tested it for a bit, I will post here, and let you know what i think of it.
What i do know, at the moment, is, The screen protector that is on the phone at the moment, (Carphone Warehouse own brand) Is a worthless piece of ****e. I find using the stylus comes naturally to me, so the screen gets a lot of stylus work done to it, and the screen protector on now is scratched to buggery.
So, I will be quite interested to see how the invisible shield is after a couple of weeks.
Will let you know.
Cheers.
I'm interested in getting one so waiting for your sharing...

Could you tell us exactly which parts the invisible shield covers? Im really interested about whether or not that chrome strip going around the phone is protected.
Looking at the sheet of parts i have here, i would say yes, the shiny narrow band round the side of the phone will be covered.
From what i can tell, by logical deduction, i think 95% of the phone, when the slider is closed, will be covered. There are no parts, whatsoever, for the keyboard, or other exposed areas, when the slider is open.
I will attempt to fit it all tomorrow, and report back.
Can you post a pic of the main screen area?
OK.
Have done the invisible shield fitting, and have to say, i'm a bit dissapointed with it.
As the above poster states, there is still quite an area of the phone that is not covered at all, however, most of the main "scratchable" areas are protected.
To attempt to list;- The battery cover, 99% covered.
The screen 99% covered.
The Camera lens etc, 90% covered.
Front Top (above screen) 75% covered.
Bottom 60% covered.
Top 60% covered.
There is absolutely no coverage of any parts exposed when slid open.
There is no coverage at either side of the screen, nor the sides of the screen section of the phone.
The material used does seem quite robust, but it is early days, and, as a stylus user, i will have to let time tell on my screen, how well it lasts.
The kit is pretty easy to fit, and it can be done by anybody.
I will report back after a few days of usage.
I'm interested most in the screen part. Is it really immune to scratch as advertised? From the outside look how is it compared to Martin Field?

i just ordered this today and im paying a premium.. more then the cost since im ordering it through another means... this is not sounding good for me? can you please keep us informed...also how is the scree n protetector sufficient? i plan to use it with my thumb and not stylus? is it too grippy?
When I say i'm a bit dissapointed, i mean that i thought more of the phone body would have been covered. As it is, there is still quite an amount of that shiny bit round the sides of the phone which is unprotected. Also, either side of the screen is unprotected.
The plastic material, i am quite confident about. It will do its job fine.
I have been using the stylus, (and a pencil) on the screen for about a day and a half, now, and i cant detect a single mark on the screen film.
If you look carefully at the 1st posters photo album, you can see where the gaps are in some of the film sections.
Wait so the chrome strip ISNT protected?
Also.. how did you go about installing the screen part? I was always worried about that liquid leaking into the phone :|
Ok invisible shield for the xperia SUCKS big time. Not only does it not cover the entire front face plate or the chrome part, but When I applied it to my battery cover, i noticed that I had some excess bubbles so i tried peeling it back a little to squeegy them and the xperia logo actually started to rip off! So now I have no choice but to keep the invisible shield on the battery cover so that the logo doesn't come off. Also I would never recommend putting it on the rubbery parts of the phone as it won't adhere as well as the smooth parts of the phone, I really expected more out of this product, but for the xperia it sucks.
can someone else confirm what this guy is saying^ should i ditch the full body protection and go martin fields?
does the screen protection work good though n4v1n?
O.K. after a bit more use, i can solidly say that i'm happy with the screen protector part of the invisible shield.
After several days use with the stylus, and a sharp pencil, i cannot detect any scratches on the film.
I still cant quite decide whether to leave some of the other parts on or rip em off, tho.
I think in some places, it spoils the look of the phone, but i want the protection it offers.
N4v1n,
Cant you use the liquid in the spray bottle, that comes with the invisible shield, to help peel off the film?
does it really peel off the xperia writing on the battery cover? Does it damage any of the other paint?
The damage had already been done the spray can't help me in peeling it off, If I do peel it of I will be missing at least 2 letters from the xperia logo. I didn't use the shield on any other part of the phone. I didn't buy for the screen protector as I use pdair for that, I have all the other parts of the shield but I am not going to use any of them as they are not made very well in terms of cut. The shield did not damage the paint afaik.
OMG! This thing is horrible!
I've previously used ppctechs.com write shield, which is far, far superior to this crap.
First off, this thing didn't even stand up to me ripping it off to wash off some dust that had attached itself to the underside. The corner that I carefully pulled back to pull it off is stretched out and flimsy. (Yes, I used the solution. It helped zilch in removing the protector from the screen.)
It's sticky when using (even after 24 hours). Really frustrating to use when thumbing through touchFlo or anything else for that matter.
It's nearly impossible to wash anything off of it (sticky side). I had a piece of dust get underneath when applying the thing and when trying to wash it off I had to use my fingernail to scratch it off which scratched the sticky residue underneath leaving a distinct marking under it. UGH.
Worst $30 bucks I ever spent...

Hi.
I will make this quick; not much time right now.
I would not buy any case that lets uncovered corners.
Why?
Because if the phone falls you will be very upset because there is a High but Highly chance that you will regret it when your corners get screwed.
See the following info about protecting your device:
Think ABOUT THIS.......
I just read every ones opinion (at least posted ones) and it is Obvious that the following is the best Option for PERFORMANCE/USABILITY and PROTECTION (you will need ALLL THREE):
1. For the SCREEN:
Use a non-glue screen protector (static) and if you are like me that is always WRITING with stylus for EVERYTHING using any Note program every day, then it also HAVE to be a NON-STICKY one because it will be troublesome for you to write on the screen (and it should glide).
Annnnd...... If installation goes wrong (got lints, fingerprints, etc.), you can wash and clean everything and re-apply.
2. For the BODY:
As far as I notice and saw Invisible Shield is Military Grade (only one with PATENT), and VIDEOS and also REVIEWS show the HIGH QUALITY And PROTECTION FROM SCRATCHES.
3. WHOLE PROTECTION:
You will need to find a Shock protection(or whatever you want to call it) CASE that covers the WHOLE phone (you don't want to drop it and then find out that your phone got screwed in a CORNER). It also need to have a HARRRRD FRONT COVER (to protect the screen from Impacts) and I would prefer NON-FLEXIBLE one.
OK, so we HAVE:
BODY:
1. Invisible Shield for the body (or if it is REALLY but REALLY true WITH PROOF and DEMONSTRATION that there is another brand like IS, then post it BUUUUUT with Prooof.)
OK, What we need:
1. Screen Protection-Usability: One that is top performance letting you Glide EASILY your Stylus FOR Writing.
2. A CASE with the Qualities mentioned above in number 3. "WHOLE PROTECTION"
ALL this will let you:
1. CARRY with confidence your device (knowing that is secure, in case you DROP IT).
2. When you have to answer a call or use the device and retrieve it from the case, Show its attractive shiny look.
3. Knowing that once it is out of the case it is SCRATCH proof.
4. Work without having troubles writing on the screen.
Please FEED BACK about this COMMENT.
How bad does the case impair the keyboard (since it covers it in plastic)?
I had one for my tilt & really liked the clip, damage protection (to udgn's credit my corner did get dinged), and slot for my rfid card but I never used the keyboard. The tilt would also catch slightly on the plastic when the keyboard opened.
I've also read where the cover unsnaps easily.
Fuze is in my pocket so far with a bodyguardz back skin & stock(static) screen guard but I'm worried about lint.
Worry about lint?

1. Be specific worrying about lint.
2. Keyboard being covered by plastic... I think it will be a pain.
2. As for a good cover or carrying case I have just FOUND what looks like an alternative:
a. It looks like it covers corners.
b. Protects screen.
But you already started with the right foot by applying protective skins that let you show your phone.
I WILL POST THE LINK TO THE CASE LATER.

Pocket lint, http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1492564
I've seen it under the screen of blackberry pearls and it looked like it was already trying to cover up the camera lens after a week on my fuze. Hopefully everyone carries in their pocket & lint isnt an issue... I'm surrounded by iphones & people thinking it doesnt get better than a razr so I've got no reference. The best option I'm seeing so far is the noreve case. Still open on the edges but offers the best protection I can find while still using the keyboard.
Then again, old iphones seem susceptible. http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/how_to/4291585.html

Ok. first things first. Daaammmm it I can't find the info for the case (IT was so F!*#% hard and took alot of time to find that) BUT DON'T WORRY I WANT IT, and I will FIND IT AGAIN. SORRY I don't have it Right now.
Second Don't worry about lint, if you want to keep it clean I suggest you to buy a bottle of COMPRESS AIR and a MICROFIBER CLOTH, and a little brush (have to be made of natural hair) and it will be lint Free. *** and maybe a little vacuum with a brush adapter***
The key is maintenance.
I promise I will find and post the link.

Thank you for the link... I looked at the carrymoblile case and it came in #2 on my list.
My big concern was the keyboard seemed to be down in a well of sorts. I tried hard to get a better look at it but even on youtube all I could find were a bunch of still shots.
I was also thinking the belt clip appeared to be slightly off center so the phone would hang crooked. I may give it a go anyway. I ordered the Noreve case back on Feb02 and it's still on backorder.
Depending on where your located & also if you gamble I found the carrymobile at a better cost (est $22 vs $28) http://cgi.ebay.com/Carrymobile-s-L...0QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_MobilePhoneAccessories
Youtube on the noreve case, I see the belt clip is off center on this one as well. Came down to fingers vs well.

If you get the case I'd appreciate your thoughts on how wide the gap is between marketing & actual use. Is there enough room to jam an rfid card in it (gains me access to work)

Any recommendations for a "non-sticky" screen? Hard to know online which one will be best.
I had a Krusell for my 8525 and it worked great. It was the same design as linked above. The open corners are not really an issue because the case is slightly larger than the phone and if you drop it the case takes the impact. Also they stand behind their warrenty. I actually chemically melted the belt clip area on mine and the replaced it no questions asked (unfortunately they sent me a case for a tilt instead of an 8525 but at least the replaced it). Krusell builds their cases very very well. I never had a problem using my keyboard with the plastic over it either.
BTW: Carrymobile.com seems to be offline, at least at the moment.

I would really like an horizontal carrying case, but the problem is that all that I know leave corners open, and believe me it does not matter if the case is bigger in the borders remember the case have weight and if it falls the exposed parts will get scratched. I'm still looking, but the only one I found that covers all the phone is the one I posted, and the only problem with it is that I think it's going to be troublesome to retrieve the cell out of the case each time you have to answer. PLEASE let me know if you find one.
Colin 725:
I will post links to the one I know that are like writing in paper and 99% clear (none yellowish), and blocks 99% of the radiation from the screen. I'm posting from my phone so no links now but after 10am I will post them.
Dane Austin:
Know this, if your phone fall, specially on the street, and having in mind that the phone have its weight, ALL exposed parts will get damaged or scratched.

No offense, but if I can manage not to break a phone in 6 months I'm doing really good. (In the last 4 years I've broken 3 or 4 Razrs, 1 sony, 2 8525s and now I'm on a FUZE). The krussel case protected my phone from drops very well. I even layed on the phone a few times (forgot it was on my belt and had to get under something). I am extremely hard on phones and cases and this one outlasted ever other case I tried and protected my phone better. The only problem I had with it was that I got a chemical on it and the part where the button attaches on the back melted. They replaced it no questions asked.
Ok I found an Horizontal one.

Ok I think that I found an Horizontal Case from Krusell, By looking at the pictures at least at the bottom corners it looks well guarded, and I think we can modify top corners in order to protect it.
I'm looking at this one because it looks strong and hard leather, and it wont get fluffy.
Link here: http://www.krusellcases.com/uk/p_krusell_zoom.aspx?i=123701
udgn: This may help with your search or at least help with what not to get.
After 3.5 weeks on backorder I got my black Noreve case. I understand your want to protect the top, bottom, sides of the phone & this definitely isnt the case for you. The Krusell I had for my tilt did a much better job as there was some overlap around the corners & the leather was thicker.
Pro:s
Doesnt add near the bulk to the phone as my Krusell did to my kaiser & wizard.
The fingers on the case only really impair the lower right forward arrow and shift key (neither of which I use very often)
Cons: This case should protect the screen somewhat but it also puts it at some risk (IMO) because the 2 slots for extra mmc/sims press against the screen.
I might be able to tweak it but the case does release the phone fairly easily if the keyboard is open. I might be able to fix this with double sided tape but I shouldnt have too after spending this much.
There's no place to hold my rfid card which allows entry to the parking garage & work. Tradeoff for minimal bulk I suppose.
Too early to tell if the belt clip is better but I had grown to like the krusell multidapt system. However, I havent seen any easy way to mod the krusell orbit to get rid of the keyboard cover. It needs to come with a custom battery cover you can permanently attach to the case then allow this to hold the phone in.
I must admit, finding a case for this phone has proven to be a real challenge. I gave up my keyboard with the krusell on the tilt because of the plastic cover and I'm trying to avoid the same with the fuze. I'd like a case that could stay on the phone all the time but still allow keyboard usage & offer protection. I'm concerned with a horizontal belt case I'll drop the phone getting it out of the case. I remember you want to be able to remove the phone so this may be your best bet.
InvisShield + simple horizontal belt clip case is all I've needed to make sure my phone is secure, everyones different but InvisShield provides me with a great sense of mind as far as "if I lay this down it's not going to scratch".
Well, I just noticed earlier today that I have a bunch of dust forming in the bottom left had side of the screen. Looks like between digitizer and LCD. Already called in an RMA. Pics to follow (once wife is home with camera).
Here is the pic.
Bump, for everyone to see the pic.
I've heard of dust getting under the screen, but damn that's pretty bad. Have you tried calling TMO, and have them exchange it for a new phone? I just can't see why they wouldn't do it. Plus, you're still under the 14 day exchange period, no questions asked.

Yeah, sorry, to be more specific, for employees (me) you have to RMA the phone, then once received and verified, they will send you another. Yes, its a BS process, so as a customer, you don't have it too bad! Haha, anyways, process is in motion.
I thought I was the only one! While, not as bad as yours I have debris collecting in the same spot! I am sending both phones I got back. I am going to use this post to demonstrate that this is potentially a flaw in the design. What a bummer, I love this phone but I can't afford for there to be a gap for dust to enter under the screen. So glad I saw this post.
There are multiple light leaks around the plastic housing surrounding the touch screen. Inspect the seam surrounding the top portion of the phone carefully while the display has a white web page up. My wife's MT3G Slide has four big gaps that can bee seen on the seam of the plastic housing surrounding the screen. Mine has 3 of theses gaps one of which has already allowed dust in under my screen. I cannot believe that these flaws were not found upon inspection after the units were assembled. I am so disappointed; I was really enjoying the phone. Thank goodness I am still in my buyers remorse. If this would have happened in a warranty situation I would be stuck in a loop of refurbished devices with the same issue all while being stuck in a new 2 year contract. Dodging a bullet on this one.

You were dead on with this. I thought you were referring to the hard buttons below the screen. Speaking of those buttons; that is also a design flaw as it appears dust can get under the screen there as well. As one pushes down those buttons it exposes the edge of the touch screen. I should have taken your words more seriously instead I was dumbstruck by what is an otherwise great phone.
Just checked my screen in the sun ... dust everywhere under the screen. Bye bye beautiful Espresso; you are fatally flawed.
Ahh, I found a pin sized hole under the slide behind G button. Also if you open the slide, and use your phone that it turns on the light you will notice light inside the micro usb connector. I am not sure if this means that dust can pass through it also.
Will post pic of said pinhole later when it gets a little dark here. Will try blowing in some baby powder into that hole to see if it does get into the screen.
EDIT: Pics of pinhole behind G button at the back of the slide.

EDIT: I might bring to T-Mo store for replacement but not giving up on this phone. Goodluck with the Samsung S.
Just posted in the MT3GS defective thread: this might be a larger defect than just the Slides. There's a bunch of Evo people talking about the same issue with their phones on the htc forums and the androidforums: glass is separating due to potentially faulty adhesive.

Who's getting a Galaxy S? I'm not.
I don't think the light leaks are as big an issue as I thought, so long as the adhesive seal between the digitizer and LCD is intact there shouldn't be any way for dust to get into the screen.
Hey, what kind is and where did you get that case? Looks cool!

Thats the one offered by tmobile, black back, chrome front bezel. Has a removable belt clip, so that is why you see a little circle in the middle.
I had this happen to the first slide I picked up but luckily I noticed it fairly quick and took it back the very next day. Now the replacement I have is having the same issue, granted it's 1 spec of dust under the screen but I know it will get worse with time and I'm debating on whether or not I will just return it and go back to my G1.
Mine has it now too! Just noticed it in the sun on the way into work - Mine is going to get swapped out today too...
This is a major drag!!!
My nexus has this same issue so do many others. Some people are having a hard time getting HTC to replace because of unlocked bootloaders. On the n1 the bottom left corner of the screen feels like it is not glued down all the way and dust goes under. Some are using a hair dryer to warm up the corner and pushing down on the screen to help it glue down all the way. HTC fixed mine and then when I got it back the screen was even more loose and I have more dust now than before. I'm going to wait longer before I send it back again. Hopefully this mts doesn't start doing the same thing.
I started a thread about this over in the tmo forums. It appears that it has gotten the attention of a moderator over there. If you would like to add your story to it please feel free as well as post a picture or two of the dust your screen has trapped.
Apparently I can't post links because my account hasn't been verified. The thread isn't too hard to find over there, promise.

holy crap stop hiding your phone in the litter box!
If you turn the back light off and shine a flashlight at the screen at an angle you see this very well!
Here is mine:
I don't work in a dusty environment either, probably from my pocket. Plastic pocket protectors anyone??
I bought a case for the tab but I keep taking it off. It feels so much better in my hand with out a leather case.
How many of you are running naked?
The original screen protector plastic that came with it out of the box actually. I have just cut off the peel back tab that sticks out from the corner and gently pushed out the air bubbles. Can't beat free.
The original screen protector lasted about 2days.
I looked at the official cases tmobile and samsung are pushing but i couldnt justify $60 for what looked and feeled like junk.
Long story shorr. I have been a wreck for days carrying around my tab scared to let it touch anything for fear it gets scratxhed.
Waiting om a high dollar case i found online.

I actually picked up the in icipio case from t-mobile and I have to say, this case is by far one of the best cases i've ever had for any device i've ever owned. It's a soft gel/ hard case and it has a stand that pops out from back. I still have all the plastics that came on the sgt from the box, so my tab will still look like day one taken out of the box.

Same here. I just actually got my tab a few minutes ago. The lady that was helping me said they just got accessories in today. I picked the incipio case as well and a screen protector.
I wanted the leather book case but as soon as i took it out of the box it felt cheap.
I did see those hard cases and they are sturdy. I guess i just wanted the ultra cool leather and had my heart set on one.
On a side note.····just spent two hours in the rain·····you didnt think id go without my tab did ya?

I also got this case.. It works great and I don't fear dropping it (well not as much) and i know it will never get scratched up at all. I also left all the plastic on it right out of the box. I bought a screen protector too but have not put it on yet due to still using the one that was on it from the box (no scratches on it yet..but I know it will in time, its not very good quality I dont think but gets the job done for now.
Only regret is how bulky it make it. Later I may look at a skin type to get back to the more "naked" feel.
For those that have the Incipio case do you find it very hard to put the tab into it? Or am I doing it wrong...I always feel like I'm going to break the hard part of the case by bending it to far or damage the Tab.

its kinda tedious to put in. what i did after i put in the silicone part in then slide the tab left side (mic side) to the plastic then put the top right part, middle, then finally the bottom right plastic. now, the silicone will not match up to the opening designed for it on the plastic side but if you use your fingernails to try to pull the silicone in their respective openings they will eventually fit.
kinda the way I did it with mine. This type of case is not made for a lot of taking the tab in and out but its going to do the job of protecting it.

I bought the Samsung own one for £30 that has that patented shock protection stuff d3o (i think). It's a lovely case, don't really care about the price and it feel gorgeous to hold. THe one downside is that the way it's designed to slot the tab into the ring at the back when using it as a stand makes it slightly difficult to open and close quickly.

I have the case. Not super crazy about it, but better than the tablet being it's naked slippery self. Tight fit getting it on or off, but still slips in the case just a tiny bit in use. The slipping causes things like the front facing web cam will not be aligned it its port.
The actual opening to get the tablet inside is at the bottom of the case when the cover is open in "stand mode" so that can allow the above mentioned slipping also.
The stand function is passable, but I think the angle it creates is a bit too shallow and causes the screen to catch glare from overhead lights. I would like if it stood the tablet a little more upright to escape that glare.
I've seen a very similar case for the iPad series, so we are not alone.
So, not perfect, but better than nothing.
isn't it the same thing like the official ipad 1 case last year

Agreed. I kinda like mine but would really prefer a slim well fitting leather folio. One nice feature of the case is it doesn't weigh much, so your tablet still feels very light in your hand, which is never the situation with a leather case.
The stand angle is definitely crap though - if I set it on my desk at work it invariably reflects the overhead lights into my eyes. The ability to adjust it even slightly would make that easier.
And agreed - the tablet sure moves around inside the case a lot considering how tight it fits.
the stand position is actually pretty nice for me. i use it at my desk at home (with lamp light, no overhead) so thats probably why i like it. but the only thing i dont like is the cheaply velcro used (seems to undo to easily, i would prefer magnets like a cell phone case) and the slipping out during use. other than that i like it
I've got one of these too, and I noticed that if the slightest bit of anything gets on it, it looks ugly. It was on a table when a bottle of soda got spilled, only a few drops hit it, and you can see exactly where those drops hit it at.
As far as the case goes, it would be a lot better if the flap was magnetic, and if there was something for it to catch on on the back when it's flat. It's obnoxious to have to deal with putting it into the stand shape when you're just holding it to check your e-mail.

At least the case did its job and protected the tablet from your soda damage. Also, the case cleans pretty easily with a damp cloth.

I have had the Acer case for a couple of weeks. It feels like wetsuit material. but does the job, and it is easy to wipe any dirt off it. I did cut a inverted 'V' so that the microphone was not obstructed.
All the ports are easy to get to but, nevertheless, exposed. So, I wanted a sleeve that I could slip the tablet into when placing it in my briefcase, and I found the attached at a store that sells Japanese goods (the case is actually from China.) See attached photo.
This fits the A500 in the Acer case very nicely, and good enough to take into a meeting.
The cost of the case: $1.50.
ps. The store is Daiso Japan and the item is Plastic Case (B5) 497 990 9845 486. Nothing unique about it and I am sure you can find similar ones around from other stores.
I bought this case and am not too thrilled about it. I already have an Arkon stand so the built-in stand function is kind of useless, and really just makes that side of the cover really flimsy. The case attracts too much "stuff" and degrades the look of the product and it doesnt fit like a glove as you'd think. I also dont like how it doesnt cover up the bottom of the A500 at all, nor the fact that if you dont use the stand fuction, the tablet has a tendency to fall out of the case, since its on "backwards."
that... and the smell... ugh.
Amazon has it on sale today for 29 bucks

second that on the smell i bought a 10 inch netbook bag today to replace the case
I have the official case and am about to ditch it for a folio style from ebay.
Not only does it look tatty when it is on, it's almost impossible to clean the screen with it on, as all the dust etc collects in the corners, and constant removal and replacement has stretched the opening so I now have the dreaded 'slide' effect.
In addition to this, obviously something abrasive has got between the screen and the case (still waiting for my screen protector to arrive) and put a tiny gouge in the screen on the black bezel near the docking connector - rather knocking on the head the assertion that this is covered in 'Gorilla Glass'.
And lets be honest, the Iconia is a beautiful looking bit of kit, and putting it in the official case makes it look rubbish.
In all, 30 quid wasted!
This case is pretty much garbage. I've had it as long as it's been out and here's the low-down...
When you get it, it reeks. I thought that the shipment of cases was accidentally dropped in a puddle of gasoline. But it turned out that was just from the material the case was made of. It did go away eventually though. It took about 30-40 days but now my case is reek-free.
The second problem was the slip issue. The tab slides down at about 3-4mm, which may not seem like a lot, but it's actually the perfect annoying amount. It causes the front camera to be blocked by the case itself, the speakers to not line up correctly, the bottom part of the front side of the case comes close to blocking you from using the task bar buttons efficiently, and the ambient light sensor is blocked. Some members on here have recommended double sided tape, but don't waste your time. It just slows the slipping down and it doesn't stick to well to the case material. Now I have an entire roll of Scotch double-sided tape that I will never use. However, I have found great success with heavy duty Velcro. I bought a pack with two strips from Staples and used half of one of the strips, cut into 2 and popped them on either side of the Acer logo on the back of the unit. It holds okay with the case material, creates just enough wedge pressure in the back, while allowing you to take the tablet out of the case if you really want to. My front camera and taskbar buttons have not been blocked at all since implementing this Velcro. One user here mentioned that they did some sewing and sewed the unit into the case at the opening and that works well. If my Velcro doesn't work as a more subtle solution long-term, I may go in that direction. I can't help but wonder if the case was made upside-down, would we have the slip problems at all (the opening is at the bottom when you hold it naturally).
The best thing about this case, though (and why I keep bothering to attempt to fix it) is that I love its stand features. The stand on the back is nice, and frankly, better than some of those ugly alternative bulky stands out there. I can stand it up on the table while sitting and eating, or flip it upside down and use the slighter stand to ramp it up just enough while laying down in bed.

I bought this case a while back and have not had any problems with it. It's easy to clean with a damp cloth, and protects my tablet. I have not had any issues with my tablet slipping yet. The stand also seems to be stable enough for me. The one thing I did do though was remove the Velcro and glue two tiny rare earth magnets in their place. Now the case snaps shut and stays shut. I wish I could add one more magnet to keep the cover open when holding the tablet.

Since implementing the Velcro solution mentioned in my previous post, no interference from slipping! Recommend!
Yeah I might try the Velcro if I start having problems with it slipping.
