Hi all.
I have problem with my T Mobile SDA music a.k.a. dopod 585 / HTC Amadeus
After upgrading to WM 6.1 by ALEUT everything going well but the charging.
When I plug the usb sync, LED indicator going amber, and battery indicator on LCD is charging , after a while (approx. 2-3 sec) LED going green and battery indicator is full, but if I disconnected the usb cable, battery indicator return to real state (half full on my case). It's going the same with the USB charger.
I've tried to drown the battery, still the problem persist.
FYI, I have 2 battery and resulting same problem.
Anyone could help me with this please...? Solution or suggestion would be very appreciated.

Hi all,
I have no clue about what i did to my Jamin but even though it has
been pluged-in to my pc all day, the battery went down to zero. Now i
cant even open it. I am now using a charger to charge it. However, it
now shows a red light (not orange) and still not opening. I cant see
anylights on when i plug it in to my pc either.
I tried to look at the meaning of the red light on the internet. I
guess it means "device not charging". What do you think is the problem
and can anyone suggest anything????
Thanks in case
Hi,
I had a similar (not same) problem on my xda neo: no action at all even after long loading (NO LED, not even red). I finally resolved it by manually loading the battery (upper contact = plus, lower=minus, 100mA feed current, 3,9 V shutoff voltage, 4 hours at a laboratory power supply) - for me that helped.
It seems, the device does not have a charging logic which works just from USB power - it seems however, the device needs some battery power to get the charging system up and running - very silly!
If you do not have access to a laboratory power supply, but know someone else with a working PDA - just try to swap batteries to see, whether the problem sticks to the device or the battery...
Question from my end to everyone: "manually" fiddeling with teh batteries ist really ugly - is there anywhere a charger (other than the PDA itself) for the PM16A?

Charge with a RC Car Charger like Graupner Ultimat10 ... it can charge a ILPO without blasting the Akku :->
I have a problem with my SPV M3000.
It does not charge any more with the USB cable nor with the original AC adapter.
When I connect the AC adapter, the battery icon shows the AC cord like it is charging but the right LED flashes ORANGE instead of staying ORANGE.
If I click on the battery icon, the battery status shows the battery level instead of "Charging". The power bar does not show any charging activities.
I have done an update from Wm5 to Wm6 and also updated the Radio ROM, but still the same problem.
When I want to charge my battery, I take it out the phone, and charge it with an universal battery charger.
Does anyone else have/had the same problem ? 10x
probably you have a problem with the usb, i had the same problem and I am waiting for a new usb to replace the broken one.
I dont think so. My usb is working fine because I can sync to my PC
I have a problem with my SPV C500. When the battery runs down to 50% I'm not able to charge it by wall charger. It starts to charge but after a while the led goes green and battery indicator says the phone is full charged. When I plug the charger out, the battery indicator will tell the thruth - it's not been charged. Even letting the phone with wall charger plugged in for several hours doesn't help. The only way is to use USB connector and connect it to PC. In this case the "point of no return" is around 20% (I did a test with spare battery). Did you experience such a problem?
I've also had second SPV C500 which stopped to charge at all. Even USB charging didn't help. I had to sell it as faulty :-(
BTW 6.1 ROM seems to save battery life. With WM 2003 SE it took one day to drop to 50%, now it takes more than two days. .-)
Hi all.
I've bought a XDA IIi the XDA shows an orange/red blinking light when charging it trought a USB Cable to PC. According to the manual, it should be an amber solid led when charging it. The only solid led I've seen is a green one on the charger.
I'm available to sync trought ActiveSync, but XDA shows an orange/red blinking light and one post talking about that blinking orange led was caused by a low-power charging, but i use USB Cable to PC.
I always use USB to PC cable and charge my XDA phone.
I have exactly the same problem, any solutions?
Me too, same problem but additional headache no charge via usb nor wall charger. It also blinks on original wall charger also, set off charging also. its frustrating ARRRRGH.
Need solution badly
mine too
mine does it too but only once in awhile and if i soft reset my phone it goes back to charging like i listen to music and its charging and then suddenly the stupid orange light blinks and doesnt charge my phone and its annoying?
anyone have a solution?
The problem might be a near-dead or malfunctioning battery. Using a USB cable to charge does not fully charge a near-dead battery, and sometimes if the battery has completely discharged, the cable will not charge it.
Another solution...
I'm having the same problem... When i plug the usb connector the amber LED turn's on and hold. After some time the LED start to blink. When the led is blinking the battery doesn't charge.
There are some "software based" solution, or a debuging tool???
The orange led is normal that's how it is when it is in charging mode but the blinkink led is becouse of the conection with the phone and the USB try to move the USB in the phone plug it might work cuz it workd for me.
I hope i help'd u guys
What kind of move? Do you think that the problem is a bad electric contact? I guess not... I pluged and unpluged several times...
Well it workd for me becouse if i plug the usb cable to the end it has no connection that's way i move the cable back and forth untill i get the connection.
Blinking amber
I have the same problem on my htc p3300, and when i used batti 2.4 i saw that the battery temperature is 432675.5 etc something fake temerature. This is the reason, why my pda unable to charge my battery. If you set your pda in bootloader mode, it will charge your battery!. After 3 or more times i charged it in bootloader mode somethimes the battery temp sensor works normally, and the charge is working as well. Sometimes not.
Bat you can charge your battery allways in bootloader mode.

Hi !
I searched already around the forum, but I didn't find anything for my problem:
Yesterday my device turned off because of low battery (while listening music), then I tried to charge it with the original charger over night. Today in the morning the device was not charged but the amber/organge LED was blinking.
When I put on the charger the red led turns on, after a few seconds the amber led starts blinking then after a few minutes the led turns again red an then again blinking amber and so on ...
I can boot up Windows mobile bu after a few secounds the deivce turns off an then again red led an blinking amber ...
I did a softreset and a hardreset but still no charging.
I tried another battery from a neighbour, the device works fine, but still a blinking amber led (not always-on) when connect on the charger.
Can anybody help me ?
Sorry for my bad english ..
Have you tried using your friend's phone charger?
The problem has been discussed. It is known as the RLOD (Red light of Death) and is reported against many different phones and brands. It is likely a fault in:
1
The phones charging circuit
OR
2
A faulty battery
OR
3 A faulty USB port (bent pin or cracked solder joint)
OR
4
A cracked solder joint between the battery connector and m/board
In my experience it is most likely to be a faulty (stuck) charging circuit.
The following link may be useful, and it is worth persevering. I once had a phone that took several days to get started again:

Mike
@gypsygirl: I tried two different chargers which are working fine which another device (xda neo)
@mikechannon:
I think its a problem with the charging circut or the usb port (otherwise the data connection works when connected to the pc).
I tried the battery from my friend with 90 % battery left and put on the charger and ist doesn't start charging, only blinking amber ...
I guess I will buy an external cradle for charging the battery, not the best way, but so i can use the device ...
When there is any solution for a cracked charging circut, i will try it out ...
Thanks for help
