Error while trying to updgrade to new ROM!!!

Hi all,
Im new to this Universal forum since i recently got my MDA PRO ( Universal or JASJAR) from ERA mobiles-Poland. I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone of you masters could answer them for me.
1. Firstly why do all the programs work so slowly??? I assumed that adding some new softwares slowed the system down but did a hard reset and found that there was hardly any improvement. i previously owned a Himalaya and it was much faster with the same software as in the MDA PRO. How can i change this and make more memory for running applications??
2. Is there an option where i could answer a call via the speakers by just lifting the screen of the phone?? i often answer a call with the hood closed and have to open the hood and press the "Speaker On" function before i can use the function. Im not sure if anyone has had this thought and a solution has been found.
3. I managed to download the new ROM from this forum and tried to update it on my machine but got an error " Invalid device" - Kindly contact your operator for the right update. my question is how can I update to a new ROM when running the maching with an excisting one? my device is from an operator in Poland but i would like to upgrade to a new ROM.
4. Lastly is it true that updating the device to a new ROM will increase memory and effeciency of the device or is a ROM update only developed for certain regional functions and software setting??
5. My last question is on my device desktop i can see 8 unread emails. when i select this the machine totally hangs and i have to do a soft reset. is there some way i can change this and reset the problem. Also can anyone tell me how to uninstall a email account once it is created?

1. to fix most of your problems, upgrade your ROM.
2. Might be better to get a bluetooth headset. Preferably stereo one if you listen to music.
3. If it doesn't belong to the maker of your device (like you bought a QTEK and wanna flash an IMATE ROM) go to the wiki.xda-developers.com It is all explained there.
4. Increased efficiency. Maybe better memory handling but not necessarily more memory.
5. Upgrade the ROM and it will erase everything, even the 8 emails. Just make sure they are not there when you synchronize. Maybe the rom update will help.
P.S. Your ROM is almost 1 YEAR OLD!!!!! Pls. upgrade.

What Unlocking program? For Country ID Errors, there is a topic on this, PLEASE USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!
Hint: Use MaUpgradeUT_NoID.exe

How to update ROM on O2 Orbit-solution

All,
I've exchanged many emails with the imei.check.co.uk team and also met personally one of these guys in order to be able to upload a new ROM to my O2 Orbit. I had excatly the same problem as many of you with ending the uploding process with "model invalid id" error message.
Now I'm happy to say we do have a solution.
So if you want to change your ROM (any), simply follow these instructions:

Of course you can publish the instructions...
BUT PLEASE put a BIG WARNING! It will crash the phone in case you don't have a valid key file to perfom the last step: RUN THE UNLOCKER AGAIN AFTER THE ROM MODEL SWITCH TO RECOVER FROM THE DATA CRASHED MESSAGE!

we found a way to flash ANY artemis roms in ANY Artemis look alike device (HTC Hero too).
Tools you need:
-hexworkshop from http://www.bpsoft.com/downloads/
-Any rom
-winzip or winrar
-http://www.imei-check.co.uk/C3v1Unlock.zip
a valid UNL file for your phone.
install hexworkshop and winzip/winrar
Take any rom for example: ART_HTCWWE_11240501_026790_WWE_Ship.exe
in explorer, right click on it and select "Extract files..."
Now it will unpack all the files
You'll have now "HTCWWE_shipsigned.nbh"
right click on it and Click "Hex Edit with Hex Workshop"
You'll see on the 5th row ARTE10000
Make it ARTE***** and save file
Now right click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe and "Hex Edit with Hex Workshop"
Search for word password.it will find it at 0x3E0B0 after password replace "BsaD5SeoA" with "IMEICHECK" and save the .exe file
Now connect the phone to the pc (normal way). run the C3v1Unlock.exe
when is asking for UNL file, disconect the phone from pc, press cancel, and
close the unlocker.
Now connect the phone back to the pc (in this mode it is) and run the
ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Now follow the instructions as the upgrade it will work.
After upgrade done, run the unlocker again and this time select the correct UNLfile.
Task Done.
C3 after flashing with any WIFI roms it will STILL not have WIFI!!!

But the key is: We will have to pay 38USD for the "Proper UNL file" which is unique for every IMEI. Is it right?

yes, first you have to go to imei.check and pay for the unlocking program and the unique .unl file.
P.S. I'm not a member of imei.check, just had the same problem as many Orbit users here...you can find my previous thread.

Everything went smoothly but when the device rebooted, it want me to "align the screen". It doesn't seem to be able to detect the stylus touching the screen! Can't get past that screen! Anybody know what I could have done wrong?

It worked like a charm. The only problem I had was that when the Orbit re-booted after the process finished, it didn't seem to detect the sylus. I just waited five minutes and then it worked. Guess it was still getting settled in with it's new ROM. I don't know where I had the TomTom before I started the update, but it installed the German maps which were there before but as a bonus it gave me a English speaking voice which I didn't have before. It came with a German voice and I couldn't change because I had not yet upgraded the memory and had no room. So, my update was super! The only little thing is that once I changed the screen color back to blue instead of that terrible green, I couldn't get the phone part (dialing pad) to change to blue. No biggie, as now I can use my Orbit in English. I can live with the green phone pad! Maybe somebody will tweak that one. Hope this wasn't more info than you needed....

the dialing pad can be easily changed as well....just do a little seach on this Artemis forum and you will find many links pointing to skins available for WM5 phone edition.

O2 Orbit ROM upgrade info

my o2 orbit has ROM 1.25.206.2 WWE. I wanted to know if this is the latest ROM available for my phone. I got my phone 10 days ago and i gotta do a soft reset on it every day. I had the same kind of problems with o2 Atom. But most of the issues were corrected once the ROM was upgraded. Please someone update me on my situation. Thanks

I tried the steps but i'm always getting the ERROR[300] : INVALID UPDATE TOOL - This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please get newer Update Utility

Did you unlock with imei-check? What is your model ID ARTExxxx ?

Yes i did. My Model ID is ARTE100

Hmm, but the steps described above are necessary to follow only if your model is Orbit (ARTE200). If you have HTC P3300 or Dopod p800W or Artemis or MDA compact 3, then you don't need to do it this way. The only thing you need to do is to unlock with Imei-check. If it still doesnt work, contact their help desk.

Ok i see, very strange indeed. I did the unlock with the stuff from Imei-check but i still get the message ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID . If i try the steps from your post #1 , i get the described error obove. I'll try to contact the guys from imei-check, i hope they can help me

I recently had the need to re-Rom a couple of Wallabies and loaded the A.30.09_ENG to do it. All went great and both T-Mobile units will now run like the wind on either T-Mobile or Cingular networks and from trial and error, I learned that they could both run the Kewlest Caller ID program that I have ever seen.
I was directed to pull it out of the Magician folders at ftp://xda:[email protected] and I did, in hopes of using it on my personal Hermes, but to no avail. It did however work great on my wife's Blue Angel, so I tried it on the Wallabies. Excellent Product!!!! Everyone with a Wallaby should be using it. It allows the owner to assign a different ringtone to each contact AND . . . here is the cool part . . . it allows you to use a different picture for each contact AND . . . AND . . . AND that image can be an animated .gif file. It is so much cooler than Photo Contacts in their current form. Check it out and enjoy.
And everyone else, sign in and ad your favorite tweak and toy or tool for the Wallaby and see if it isn't a bit happier in the pocket.

ok, sorry to be a bit of a n00b, but how do i put this on my wallaby? can i do it with a sd card or does it have to be via cable? and i cant see any installer type files, is that right??

ok another n00b question (apologies, i am very new to PDA's) but , how do i do it? is ther a folder i have to copy the files to, as ive tried to install another file and all it says is " there is no association with this file"

ok, have got myself a cable (makes life easier IMO) and installed the cab file thingie, have installed the above caller id ting ( apologies im not very technical!) but when i try to run it, theres a blank icon and it comes up with "cannot find photocontacts or one of its components make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required librabries are available" have i done somethig wrong??

It may be that you are running a version of windows that won't run it - or it needs to be re-installed (happens sometimes) because part of the program was installed on a (physically) defective portion of the memory. Wallaby's are getting old enough now to have rust on their internal components.

ok, i thought it might have been the OS as well, so i went and upgraded to WM2003, and fingerrs crossed, it seems to be working ( just need someone to ring now lol)
*edit* have set it all up with photos and ringtones etc, using wma from my card and from the phone itself, and it still plays the default ringtone and doesnt show pics when someone rings...am i doing summat wrong?

HELP ME P3300 Does not upgrade to WM6 Cause Error 260

Hi to everybody.
I would want to set you a very strange problem that has happened to one friend of mine. He has installed the original ROM wm5 and he wants to pass to wm6, once connected the pda to the computer activesync unfortunately it tries to syncronize him but remains to syncronize to the endless (1° strangeness) one.
Later starting the official updating htc downloaded by the site, continuing with the instructions and reaching the prophetic moment in which the pda is disconnected by activesync and puts on in formality bootloader to adjourn from the prophetic error 260 that I have documented and I bring here you him:
Me being a little hacker and almost all knowing the methods to upgrade the ROM I have recommended him to try to put in formality bootloader to extract the content of the original file and to make to depart the file ROMUpdateUtility, but also them error 260. Not giving me for defeated I have tried the last method from me known, the updating from micro sd card.I have dictated him footstep footstep what had to do but not even this time of it to wanted to know to adjourn him (2° strangeness, doesn't know however if has correctly done all finding himself him in the Marche and me in Sicily ). I think that can treat more specifically him of the pc of the operating system, even if he has told me that it has the xp.
Now I put me in your hands, aspect suggestions on as to resolve.

To get your P3300 back to live
Don't worry if things goes wrong sometimes.
1.What you can do is maybe a good option if you have a P3300 without a
provider then you can better going
to the website of Htc register yourself (its free!) Then register
your model of your Htc Product.
Go to the Htc club. you will find your originale udate rom!!! This is also
to find it here.
2. There is a nother option.
copy your RUU_singned img to a sd card and put the sd card bac to
your P3300.
Start the bootloader by pressing the both key rec. and power
and hold em when your do a reset.
You will see a 3 color line on your screen then you will see
the install progres from your img.
wait and follow the instruction on that display.
I had also a problem a month ago but and this option by the sd card
did working fine for me.
Now I update the software and also the dial pad to vista look. That is
realy awesome!
It's working fine and do its job what this model has to do!

PLEASE I need help! I have an htc p3300 and when I try to update it goes up to 3% and turns off. There isn't any rom that I haven't tried but noone worked . Is there anything I can do ? Thanks in advance

HTC HERO 110 Dead, Tried everything.

Hello everyone.
1st of all, i'm so tired of searching in this whole forum regarding my issue. 2 days so far and no luck, so please if i missed some posts that would be unexpected.
If this post is not in the right place please mods relocate it because i couldn't get the main forum for my kind of phone.
I'm from Latin america, I got a HTC HERA110. I don't know if it's unlocked or not.
The main issue is that the phone is totally dead. The only thing i get is, i think is like a bootloader, it has RED, GREEN, BLUE screen and prompts and nothing more. I tried several key combinations with camera key, soft key, power key, even that little reset dot above SD slot. Nothing works. Only information i can get is this

I brought my ph to my local service provider tech support but they said there is no luck for my phone and i can't just leave it like this. But i know XDA-Devs are even better than those idiots. I got another HTC Juno (T-Mobile Shadow) and here i found several useful info and i started learning related to Windows Mobile based phones.
I read something regarding HardSPL and that stuff and since my IPL,SPL is greater than 1xxxx several posts explained i can go ahead and reflash the OS.
I tried that HardSPL stuff but most of them required to have the phone alive to store some cabs on it and install them so since my phone is dead, that's not gonna work.
So far i realized my ph is hardware similar to T-Mobile Wing, HTC P4350, HTC P4351, HTC P4350, HTC HERALD. So i decided to re-flash the whole OS...
So i tried to get some NHB files. I got the Original on T-Mobile Website and some others for HTC HERALD and HTC P4350. I actually tried with another one called HTC ATLAS.
My Ph is been connected to my laptop via USB. I got Windows 7 x64, i don't know if that is a problem. So i started trying all those RUU flashers.
Before 4%-5% of the proccess the screen on my ph prompted a progress bar and somehow it goes blank and i got some errors such like INVALID VENDER ID (with HTC ATLAS and T-MOBILE WING), INVALID MODEL ID (with HTC P4350), UPDATE ERRROR (with HTC HERALD).
I tried with that NHB tool to extract the NHB files ( this is, supposly, to fix INVALID MODEL ID) but it didn't work, after tried that one i got UPDATE ERROR. I even try with that GoldenCard stuff with an SD card but i couldn't even export the .img file, i got an error on the cmd lines and inside the Pearl Manager i can't fine XdaDevelopers packages.
At this time i'm really frustrated and so tired. I don't know if my ph is branded to any company here such like Movistar or whatever. The only thing i know is that every single thing i tried promptes errors.

The HTC Hera is the T-Mobile Wing no? And I think its the HTC Herald not the Hera...

yes this is the wrong forum. i got the post's name wrong is not HTC HERO it's indeed HTC HERA but somehow moderators moved my post to the wrong place.
now I finally made my gold card works however it's not working. I got alos the heradiag.nbh in order to flash using the SD goldcard, but now the main issue is that i can't move into the diag tool with the keyboard. i'm pressing several keys but the only thing it's doing is a VIEW CHECKSUM screen when it prompts the whole nhb checksum but i can't make it perform the flash. Need help!
