touch screen not responsive - Touch CDMA General

Hey guys, my freind had a sprint Vogue and the touch screen quit working so he gave it to me. Every thing works fine but that. Iv hard reset, reflashed, tried to operate it through MyMobiler, banged it on the computer desk. Nothing works. any ideas or do I just have a new paper weight? Hes already went to sprint and said he lost it and got a new one so sprint will be no help. I really just wanted it for a genuia pig. but its no use when its stuck at the setup screen.
Thanks

Had this problem before, I remember turning the power on, trying the screen, turning it off, on trying again and etc... it worked after a few rigorous tries.

Iv turned it on and off probably 100 times and still no luck. plus the hard reset and reflash

You could try replacing the screen with a spare part from...somewhere. Not much more I can say, that's about as far as my knowledge goes.

Thanks, Im hoping it dont come to that

Sounds like a dead digitizer. You're going to have to either find a new digitizer and going through the hassle of replacing it or replace the entire screen.

which part is the digitizer. I had the same problem with my vogue and bought a part off ebay which i was 99% sure was the problem. its the small electrical board underneath the dpad. There is a connection that the ribbon from the outer screen connects too.. Does anyone know where i can find a replacement for that part. The one I got from ebay looked exactly like the one from my vogue but when i plugged it in it would cause my phone to shut off. They said it was for the GSM touch not the CDMA

For anyone thats ever replace the LCD - white screen issue....

Hello everyone...
Ive been doing as much research as I can, but can't find any solution.
I had to purchase a new LCD screen for my cingular 8125.
When i installed the screen, it only boots up with a white screen. Ive read that this has happened to a few others, but no one has posted a solution.
All cables are connected securely, and pushed in far enough. i've experiment with everything. Ive hard reset, ive even tried with another motherboard from a different 8125 phone. nothing but a white screen. I plug my old screen in (still works, just discolored), and it works fine.
Ive read somewhere that there are two generations of the screens. But the part numbers on the screens match up, so im not sure that this is the problem.
Any suggestions? Could the screen just be no good?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
I had a problem with a white stripe when I replaced my screen. I returned it and got a new one...problem solved.
i'm assuming im going to have to return it as well, but i'm trying to avoid the inconvience if possible. ive read that a few people have had this problem, and later replied to their own post saying they fixed it...but never said how...
I had this last week - it was a case of not quite seating the screen ribbon connector properly.
Severl times I fired it p only to see a fully white screen, playing around with the seating of the connector fixed it.
nope...ive messed around with it numerous times. just pulled it back out and tried again...actually hooked up what i needed without putting the phone back together so i could mess around with the ribbon while the phone was powered on...still just white....i suppose it has to be a bad screen?
could be a bad screen.
did you replace the tape that was on the LCD ribbon?
I have replaced about 25 screens and that tape is very important..trust me.

Where to buy a motherboard / mainboard for TyTN

I've been experiencing the intermittent "No GSM" problem, and I'm pretty sure it's the mainboard (it started after I dropped the phone). Already opened the phone a few times / reflashed Radio etc...
Does somebody know where can I find a board for a HTC TyTN (Hermes 200) on the internet?
Thanks for the help!
i would be interested in this too
Maybe you could consider buying one with a cracked screen or so from eBay, just in case you can't figure out where to get a complete mainboard from...

I've considered that, but than I have the risk of having a bad motherboard as well. I'd prefer to get a new one as a replacement part. I did that in the past with the D-PAD controller and had success with it. Can't find a motherboard anywhere thou... Any ideas? Help!!
Motherboard
Hey there.. I too want a new motherboard.. I dropped my 8525 and the speaker, left side of the keypad and SD card slot stopped functioning. I took off the cover and reconnected the speaker..even lifted the MB off..But still with the same problem except that the speaker works and that the Unit gets very hot near the SD slot...I surfed and surfed without any finds of a MB..
So any ways broke out the Wizard for awhile , dug deep down and just bought a Kaiser ( the real one from HTC ).....
So any else have any clue at all on how to get a Hermes MB?...

i'm iterested too
I am in a different position. I NOW HATE THESE UNITS LIKE POISON
I have three 8225s which I am getting really sick of constantly reflashing and finding out that something doesnt work, whatever it is.
Sometimes it is the whole screen going white eight times our of ten boots, sometimes NO GSM, sometimes it flashes properly and runs properly, starts up with all GSM numbers showing correctly and then goes into its configuration cycle only to end up with NO GSM on reboot or some kind of freeze.
I want to know where I can get rid of these things: I am in New York. Is the only place to try them on ebay? Might involve a considerable (not worthwhile) learning curve?
Has anyone had any luck contacting other flashers on craigslist? Or is there a place on this forum where I can get rid of them for a reasonable price?
I also have a few Wizards (as well as a working Wizard G4 main board) and a Blue Angel which has NEVER worked properly in the 4 years since I Have had it. However with persistence and playing around while doing other things (like watching TV), I DO have it finally working properly on all functions and have given it to my offspring. The sheer amount of playing around with it to get it working properly has convinced me that it definitely wont be worthwhile trying to get the Hermes' to work!
Oh and I forgot to mention.....

In addition to all this, I use most regulatly a Wing. A few years ago I broke the screen and HTC sent me a new chassis for whatever reason. When I switched screens, the unit with the slightly broken screeen worked, it just had a chip like break at the top corner. I could still use it. Recently I put the battery back in and hey presto! it now doesnt work at all
So what happened to the working one? The battery pins on it stopped 'pinging' today, which I take to mean that the connections no longer work. The unit suddenly stopped working on putting the battery back in it.
So who needs a few Wing chassis as well??

wing touch screen not working

I just bought a wing cheap and the problem was that even after a hard reset you could not get past the touch screen to set up since it wont recognize you touching the screen. I figured it would be a quick fix since i have fixed my 8925 and 8125 countless times. Turns out I am out of ideas anyone have any suggestions?

The person that sold you the phone obviously lied about something. There is a reason why you got it for dirt cheap. Just go eBay a new screen and install it yourself. Since you don't need a lcd replacement, just look for that touch screen replacement part.
The touch layer usually goes bad first. They're seperate from the LCD because the manufactures know they'll need to be replaced. People like to tap the screen like they're trying to impale the phone. (P.S. Never let your girlfriend use your stylus.) If going to bootloader and reflashing doesnt work, Albert's plan is the best. They usually go for $40 or so.
I just purchased a replacement screen for my brothers wing. Buy it now price for the touch was $17.99, and it comes with the necessary tools.
SWEET!!!!! I might just buy a spare now! Thanks for the info.
7.99 plus 10 shipping. not too shabby i say

Dead TouchScreen (Happy Ending)

Bout a week ago my FrankenPhone (its a softbank TyTn, with an Cingular 8525 Main Board) started to fritz out, the screen would tap repeatedly without me touching it. Then it just stopped working altogether, the screen worked but the touch didn't. I reflashed my 6.1 rom but to no avail. Acutally it was worse, I was stuck on the green 'tap here to begin' screen. So, my 85Ty1HT whatever it is was once again dead. (on a side note I'm now the proud owner of a Blackjack 2 backup phone which really isnt half bad. Thanks craigslist). I use the internet sharing pretty often on the road so i was determined to bring my phone back to life.
Short story long, I ordered a replacement screen/digitizer from blackberry8100parts.com It was pretty darn cheap, less then $50 shipped to my door, excellent service and great value. I popped the new screen in, fumbled a few times trying to get that funky ribbon cable connected. But everything is back to normal, and the Blackjack gets to live in a drawer until I drop or otherwise try and destroy my trusty Hermes again.
I followed the advice not to order just the digitizer, i think it worked out pretty good, I don't own any soldering tools. But the replacement of the whole screen assembly is very straight forward.

Thats the frakenfone part. I bought an 8525 from Ebay with a cracked screen and used the main board from it. I was going to use the digitizer from that same phone but figured it wasn't worth the hassle.

[Resolved] Touchscreen doesn't wake up properly

Hey y'all,
I am having a weird problem. I have an HD2 wich worked great. Now after some time I am having a problem with the phone waking up. When it's active and unlocked, the touchscreeen works great, but when I turn off the screen and turn it back on, it won't let me unlock it. The touch screen just doesn't seem to work any more.
So I thought maybe relfashing could help. Said and done - reflashed Android > didn't work. Wiped, flashed WP7 > didn't work.
After some time and trying 3457 times, it works sometimes and once it is unlocked everything works well. But it's unusable this way.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
JR
I had this problem yesterday. I bought my phone second hand, it had a brandnew touchscreen, the previous owner dropped it.
after 3 months (yesterday) it started woring really bad. 8/10 times it wouldnt work.
I got my hands on a HD2 which was bricked (epic fail) for 10 bucks and swapped my mainboard. it works flawlessy again. Im guessing the replaced digitizer was a cheap knockoff from China.

My friend's phone has the same issue. Touchscreen works if you wake up the phone by back button, but it does not if you wake up with power button. Did you try that?
The most strange thing is, it is the same when on windows or android, as you said.

Hey there.
After some searching I found out, that the digitizer is messed up. The thricky thing is: The digitizer hardware is located right beneath the power button. This is what is causing the problem (the power button was messed up a little also). So if you are experiencing the same issue - try pushing the power button a little harder. That might make you able to wake up the phone.
I would have to renew the digitizer, wich is a real pain and a lot of work. You'll get a new HD2 for around 130€ and the digitizer costs about 60€ I guess. Plus all the work and the risk of f***king it.
SO - my choice will be a new one. HD2 is just a great phone because of it's community!
or get a bricked on for less like I did. Swapping the mainboard is really easy if you take the time and use the iFixit repair guide. I used a hair dryer to ease up the internals by heating it up and with a suctioncup I pulled the internals right out of the shell.
the copper sticker is a real pain in the ass though... But its doable.
You'll need a T5 torx screwdriver.
Oh and I love the HD2 community no doubt about it

I have the same problem, you think it gets resolved by buying a new digitizer? I was told the problem is not that main board but only the digitizer so not worth the hassle of getting a bricked phone I assume.
Thanks

A nonresponding digitizer can be caused by many things. I´ve heard of the end key messing with the touchscreen controller and vice versa.
I had a replacement digitizer on my HD2, it stopped working and now I have a genuine digitizer.
The genuine screen is just much much much better. It just feels much better. It´s more ´slick´. And less grime attracting.
Look in the general section for people who have bricked their HD2 and PM them and offer them money
