Hi, just wondering if its possible to remove the volume app that takes over, i much prefer the default windows style of volume control..
for that matter is it possible to remove touchflo too?

To be honest the cab is in the wrong section of the forum. I started the thread there because from my research I had come to the conclusion that cooking a ROM was the only solution... then a cab solution appeared thanks to a kind member.
Since then I've been linking to it from my skin thread which may help explain how hundreds of people have found it.

Is there any place that tells me what all the different . CAB files do? I am very new to all this and will have a my Wing here tmrw and would like to customize it some. I have read through the noob guide and all that and feel I can do a ROM upgrade by following the instructions, but I just dont know what all the different .CAB files do.
Where are you getting them? If you're getting them from here there's usually a description in the thread they're posted in.
I just read the whole post "JUST .cab FILES FOR THE HTC TMO WING. ALL IN ONE PLACE" and it answered a few of them but it would be helpful to have a description by each one.
Gotcha, yeah, that's thread's a bit of a mess. I don't think a new thread about it is going to get much more response than all the replies about the same problem in the original thread though...... but yeah, it would be nice.
maybe as i get more familier with my phone and modding it i can whipe together a .cad dictionary or somethihng
Yeah. It would also be nice to have at least a screen shot of the app with each post... but I understand why people don't do it. They're already going out of their way and it takes time.
I dont understand what you're getting confuse with.... post the names of some of the cabs that confuse you and I or someone else will answer what they are.

RC Mod: changes the colors used in the 'Today' screen and 'Start' menu.
I don't remember what btasp.cab is.
Paticakeman, here's one thing that helps half the time: If you open the CAB file with WinRAR you'll find a xml file named _setup.xml. This contains the installer's title of the package. Sometimes it'll have the developer's URL or at least a full app name you can search will and get better results. Of course you still need to D/L the CABs first.
btasp.cab: (this doesn't say much to me) and yes, I've searched a lot for this and the makers' site is now gone.
Description inside the cab: "TrianglePowers.com BlueTooth Audio"
And this is what all the D/L sites list as the description: "Desire to listen to your harmony stored on your Small PC but don't desire to carry around a corded headset. If you've got a BlueTooth headset then you're in good fortune."
So I still have NO idea...
Another would be the HTC Audio Manager I see in many threads, what is this? Is it an EQ? A hardware manager for the sound system? Or is it perhaps a playlist editor? I have searched for info about this and I must be using the wrong terms because I come up empty.
Can somoone post a thread (or use this thread) to list all the working OPAL cabs (volume control, dialer, start menu, task manager etc,.) for download. I know they are spread across differnet posts but would be nice if we have something all in one post and make it sticky for some time.
I am looking for the dialer (with the canvas).

nope it doesnt not yet anyways...though i think someones making an attempt..search for "Dialer Cab? " for more details

I didnt realize that there are 'exactly' same thread for OPEL applications. Since OPEL applications are most wanted now a days, just thought this would be helpful. Thanks anyway.

Hmm funny you say that. I've search for 20 minutes for a certain Opal cab, and I keep coming back to this post :S... can someone post the link here, if I come across it, I will....

Cab takes a while to be compiled. Give it time

Look for PHM Reg Editor or DotFred's TaskManager TotalCommander....
yeah i know what i am looking for. i just cannot find it. soo many threads and millions of search options. its just frustrating. they should put the cab threads at the top and lock them in or something. and the search feature is too broad. i am having no luck.

I'm sure the answer to this will be available somewhere but after a lot of searching I'm getting nowhere. So please dont post any "UTFS" replies! if you don't want to help then don't reply.
I am creating a ROM and have got it running as I want using wm6.5.x build 23140 and sense 2018. Now I am beginning work on customising the look of it. I want a very minimal look on the home screen and so far have removed most things, but how do I remove the top grey bar where the operator text would be?
