Shadow battery always 100%! - Shadow General

Hi everyone, i just wanted to try to see if you guys had a solution to this problem. Ever since I bought my shadow, the battery is always at 100% and it never changes. Do you guys know if there is a fix to that or do i need to hard reset the phone. Thanks in advance.

Probably need to hard reset in order to fix it. The Excalibur has the same problem with carrier ROMs sometimes.

Hard reset after battery been removed?

I just received my S100 and have played with it for a few days.
But today I had some problems with my bluetooth connection which i could not turn off so I removed the battery from the back to reset it. After i put it back i was presented with the installation instuction like when i turned it on the first time. In settings > battery it says that both are 100% full so my backup battery should take over or am i incorrect? Is this a hardware failure or im doing something wrong? Im glad i alraedy synced it with outlook so i could restore most of my data which was on the device.
Hope somebody can help me here.
-nrg
i think the backup batt runs for only a few minutes... but as you say both are topped of at 100% can you replicate this problem? If not it may have been a one time thing.
Yes i could reproduce it 3 times. I only took out the battery for a minute or so and then put it back again. When I put the battery back and I check the power again in settings it still says 2x100%. If this is not normal behavior I think I will have to return it for exchange or repair.
-nrg
yes this is not normal. well goodluck hope you get a better unit
Thx!
I hope I get a new one although i highly doubt it....

Same thing happend to me as well !!
I dropped my Qtek S100 on the floor and the main battery popped out. I inserted it again (it was out just for 30-40 seconds) and a hard reset occured!
Everything lost and still my backup battery was 100% charged.
Peter
maybe the drop had more to do with the hard reset than the battery popping off?
Hard Reset after removing battery for 10 secs
OMG.. This is happening to me too!.... has anyone found a solution for this?
im using 1.11WWE + Big Storage.
Can any brave mini users try removing their battery and reinserting it?.. just to check if you have the same problems.. i have searched the web and have found that many people are having this problem..
you might just want to check if you have this problem because you will never know when you might drop your mini and suddenly your data is lost!.. just like me.. argggg

I have tried this solution.. i turned on flight mode.. waited about 3 minutes.. remove the battery, turned back on and the mini still hard resets thank god for sprite backup tho..
No need to test this as this is standard behavior for all pocket pcs (well wm5.0 says it will solve this with persistent storage) if you remove the battery and the backup battery is drained (i think the backup lasts a few minutes only)... YOUR DEVICE WILL HARD RESET. Again this is the same with all Pocket PCs may it be Phone Ed or Regular PPC. Power Drain (Main/Backup Batt) = Hard Reset. So keep your device juiced up always, and please do regular backups.
@benny: you said: "if you remove the battery and the backup battery is drained (i think the backup lasts a few minutes only)... YOUR DEVICE WILL HARD RESET"
but in my and Nutdhanai's case, both main n backup baterry ARE 100%. and we just take out the battery for 10secs (just to try) !!! anybody else can give explanation for our problem?? could it be the backup battery dead???
i made little experience last night. i let the MAIN battery till ONE (1) %, but BACKUP STILL 100%. then i went sleep for about 8 hours. in the morning, i CAN NOT turn my mini at all... pressed power and nothing. then i plug it to my desktop via usb. and it come suddently, without any hard reset!! i immediately straight away check the battery status, its said : MAIN: 0% (charging) and BACKUP: 100% !!!! how coudl it charged my backup battery back to 100% in only 2 seconds after i plug the usb cable?? its very strange!
what will happen normally when the main battery going down till 0% ?? i should use the backup batt, right?? please help us (me n nutdhannai). .
thanks all!!!
hard resets
Hi Guys I went through a phase of hard resets when changing the battery. I found out it was because I hadn't fully moved the locking tab into place. I don't know if this would be the case with your machine. good luck!
@ chop:
no, had try this long time ago, still got hard reset.. unlucky, i think we dont have someone who actually work as XDA technician in this forum to confirm this kind of problem

Hi guys!
I've no Magican, but an HTC Himalaia (QTEK2020). But i've got the same problem at my device, too.
Seemed to be an driver-bug?
I'm using Windows Mobile 2003 - ROM 1.72 - official edition (non "beta").
I know, that my problem is here in the false forum, but i want to give our these note, so that anybody could be found the solve in a softwaresoultion?
Sorry for my worst english!
Greetings from Germany,
Christopher
No more hard resets for me !
Hi guys,
FYI - my magician is an O2 Mini version.
When I had hard reset problems.. I was running QTEK 1.11 WWE and QTEK 1.12 WWE ROM, both which cause my magician to hard reset when I remove my battery.
Today I was going to send my magician to the service center so I decided to flash my magician with O2 ROM, I flashed my magician with O2 1.11 WWE ROM then I allow the ext rom to install all the applications that it was suppose to (I didnot soft reset to avoid ext rom installation)
Then i figured I should test whether the magician still hard resets or not... I took the battery out and then put it back in... turned it on.. expecting hard reset.. BUT NO!! my magician didNOT hard reset!!! OMG.. I am so happy..
so.. to summarise.. I am not too sure whether the QTEK ROMs are the cause for my magician hard reset or not.. because my girlfriends magician is also an O2 Mini and its running iMate or QTEK 1.11 WWE with Big Storage (definately not O2 ROM) and she doesnot get the hard reset problem.. BUT I can confirm that reflashing my O2 magician to O2 ROM solved my hard reset problem however, I cannot guarantee that this solution will work with other magicians but it might be worth a try..
So anyone having hard reset problems when battery is removed should try flashing their magician to the ROMs provided by your Make.. ie.. iMate Jam should flash with iMate ROM, O2 Mini should flash with O2 ROMs etc...ALSO you should let the extended rom install what ever applications it needs ok.
Let us know how you get on..
I will now try to upgrade my O2 Mini to JAM 1.12 WWE ROM and MKS Big Storage and see whether I will get hard reset again.

jam goes in hard reset every time I remove the battery cover

Hi everybody
I've i-mate Jam and since days ago it has a problem which is going in hard reset every time I remove the battery cover even for one second only!!
I thought it was because the backup battery is empty but I checked it and found it is 100% full and the same thing happens
anyone knows what is the problem?
Regards
Hi,
this is not a problem It's an expacification. There's a red switch near the battery (bottom-right) & if you remove the battery it soft reset the jam to avoid a hot stop for removing the battery when jam is on.
C ya!
DISREGARD THE LAST!, Did you say hard reset?, then I dont know. Try to charge the battery all night long to allow back up battery to be charged and then try again.
Good luck!
thanks for replying mrwell
yes I said hard reset,it's really driving me to madness I took it to the warrenty but they said we can fix it for 100$!!
It sure is strange behavior, but why remove the battery cover often? To bypass it a little I can recommend Sprite Backup. It can even make a backup for you every day & it's really good.
Good luck, M
they actually charged you for fixing the problem? atrocious.. nv encountered such a problem before.. only soft reset.. no hard resets for me..
I know oltp it's strange
I do back up every single day,but I want to know what's the problem with this little thing
-------------------------
Yes yoshiki they are charging me for fixing it but 100$ looks too much, isn't it?
now it's a little stable but always telling me main battery is empty,at least I don't have much hard resets
If its under warranty they shouldn't charge you, if its insured they should only charge you whatever the excess is.
i had similar issues with my xda2s.. but after cleaning the battery terminals and reloading a new rom update, the problem got fixed on its on..but make sure u dont use water to clean the battery terminals..use a normal soft cloth..
Hope this helps..
I was to a problem such which u talk about.but i want u to be sure if the hard reset occur with removing the battery cover only or battery it self. at all there is on the right down a place where the cover must fit in to let ur phone start.if there is anything stuck there this will cause hard reset every time u remove the battery. so plz check this if there any thing (paper or plastic or any thing) and tell me what happened.................................................hpope it will be usefull

Battery Help people !!!!! mda pro

hello everyone. I am sure that I am one of the victim with the bloody battery of the mda pro problem, which is when it's goes at 80% it decides to shut itself down, which is really annoying. I searched the forum and I got different answers of this cause, which is it's either the rom, the battery need to be changed or the the mda pro is not recognizing the battery status. I don't wanna do any rash things and spend money about 75$ to get a new battery. could anyone tell me why the flliping battery is doing that and what is the solution ?
by the way I just got it upgraded to wm6 and still got the same problem, even tho wm6 is pretty sexy
Replacement Battery
Tried most of the proposed solutions in the forum. Unfortunately the only one that worked for me was to replace the battery.
me too - new battery was what solved my problem

Happened to me yesterday after unninstalling two programs at once. After a soft-reset phone got stuck in third screen also. Solution? Hard-Reset

Help please : people can't hear me.

Hi,
About a week ago I got my new HD2. It's taken me quite a while to set it up just how I like it so I don't really want to have to hard reset unless I really have to... but the problem is that people can't hear me during phone calls. I've tested it myself and when speaking on the phone the volume from my end is ridiculously quiet. I can still record my voice at regular volume and everybody tells me the sound was fine earlier on in the week so it's got to be something that I installed or a registry tweak I made but I don't know which one...
That's why I'm here asking for help. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
In my opinion it might be something to do with WOW SRS but I haven't tested that theory yet...
Well it wasn't WOW SRS. I've tried uninstalling it and it made no difference... Any suggestions would be welcome.
.. I really don't want to have to hard reset.
I've tried uninstalling a few more programs... Still no luck. Unless anyone's got any suggestions I think I'll have to hard reset and start over.
Well I finally decided to hard reset my phone... I did it expecting the problem to be solved but sadly it wasn't so it looks like I might have to send my phone back :'(
Not that it's much help to you now (sorry!) I've had similar experiences with my HD2 but a soft reset cured it for a while. I ended up hard resetting and reinstalling. The only advise I would have is to have a serial of backups to fall back on if you suddenly find a problem. I've learnt this over the years of winmo use.....
The hard reset hasn't helped. I've been reading about microphone AGC settings that can be deactivated but I can't find them in system settings where they should be so I haven't been able to try that yet...
Quick update.
If anyone seems to have the same problem you can probably save yourselves some time and just send the phone back... I've bee told that it's almost certainly hardware failure so it's been sent back for repairs/replacement.
And on a side note SFR are bastards. Don't expect a standard exchange (for a phone less than 7 days old) from a shop whatever the customer service hotline people tell you...
