How to import IE bookmarks into Opera? - Touch HD General

On the normal version Opera 9.5 has a direct link to the IE bookmarks. The HTC Touch HD version does not have this link. Does anybody know how to link or how to import the IE bookmarks into Opera?

There are many ways, and here is one:

At first sight I was exited to see your recommendation, but if you go further into that thread you notice that Opera seems to have changed formatting in newer versions since those two solutions have been released in 2004 and 2005, so for example the conversion to the Opera on Xperia does not work.
Maybe this desktop solution is more promising, and then copying the Opera .adr file to the mobile device:

Web Browsers

Just wondering what people are using to browse the web (other than the default browser) ?
I've tried Opera Mobile but it seems to play around with some of the text on the input area and screen (odd).
hi, had the same problem with opera. browsing seems fine in terms of speed but the language is distorted. i read the support page of opera, though it supports windows mobile 5.0 they said if you can't find your mobile phone in the support list then it's not compatible. they're suggesting opera mini instead but i haven't tried it yet.
currently im using netfront v3.3 which is so far the most stable for my atom. and browsing is so fast unlike PIE (sucks!). you should try mini-mozilla too.
for opera got funny character in input text. just copy the font arial.ttf from your pc window to atom /windows directory. and soft reset.
What do you know ... copying the font over work .... thanks Mazam.
Just out of interest, how does Opera compare to the others (Netfront etc.), are there really any major differences ?
No, don't use Opera. It's writen in Java and have good support for smartphone. Too bad. It's not really for PDA.
You can try Minimo - Firefox for PPC. Here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/minimo/
One of the Minimo's good side is it show web pages with java script perfectly. Unlike Opera. Maybe Minimo load slower Opera little bit but it good enough for me.

what do you mean opera is java platform.. that is opera mini, what i'm using is opera for mobiles...
u can go here http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/products/winmobileppc/
Opera mini 8.5 is bar none the best browser, especially when used with the 'fit to screen' option. After using it, netfront, pie, and all the others feel 'broken'.

Using IE favorites in Opera 9.5

Does anybody know where I have copy my IE Favorites folder, to open them and use them in the Opera?
I hope there is an simple sulution.
There are complicated solutions - like having Opera also on your desktop and copying the bookmarks file to your HD (I hope Opera imports desktop IE bookmarks). Or doing this with the next version of http://link.opera.com/. But the easiest at the moment is to just gather your links in a html file, and setting it in any browser you wish to use as default start page. So you can use PIE, Opera...and soon Firefox Mobile - without being locked into each browsers bookmark solutions.

@Lucas0511, THX!
Don't know how I can fix that at the moment because I have made a lot of sub-maps in Favorites, but I will give it a try!

Import of favorites from Pocket IE to Opera?

The normal version (9.51 beta) of Opera can import Pocket IE favorites but it does not seem that HTC 9.5 version that ships with the Touch HD can do this. Has anyone found a simple and effective way to do this? I have searched the forums but not found anything usable so far...

opera mobile?

Hey, i recently downloaded the opera mobile 9.5 due to the hype of everyone here on the forums however i experienced issues with it. Such as the url bar dissapearing while i was typing in a web address and difficulty with the keyboard. I would like to go back to the standard opera mobile found on the x1 however i cant seem to find any versions other than 9.5 beta. Any help suggestions?
standard opera mobile from x1 rom is in the windows folder. You will find a cab there. Just install it and everything must be fine again.

Opera mini Questions

I really like how much faster Opera mini is, is there anyway to make it the default browser? It doesn't seem to play nice when its installed alongside Opera 10.
Thanks
Opera Mini Default Browser?
I agree. I love how fast Opera mini moves and I like it even better than any of the Facebook apps that I've seen for use with FB, but I don't know how to make it my default browser. Any help?
It should already by the default browser?
it is on mine already

No, it (Opera Mini) should not be already, and very unlikely is on yours.
Two browsers come pre-installed on the TMo HD2. Opera Mobile 9 and Internet Explorer. Opera Mobile 9 is set as the default browser.
Opera Mini is a different browser from Opera Mobile. It used to only run as a java midlet, but now there is a beta available that runs directly in WM.
Confusing, but there are three different Opera browsers that users can use on the phone. Opera Mobile 9 comes with the phone, but one can download and install the newer Opera Mobile 10. One can also install Opera Mini 5, WM version. (Or the java midlet version, for that matter)
