I had it on my herald and it went on easy and looked great. Putting it on the fuze its alot harder and it looks pretty bad, i got the full protection, but just screen coverage alone gave me alot of issues.
Any tips?
I followed the instructions carefully
Did you watch their youtube videos? They have them on their website. I have a feeling (waiting for mine to arrive) that this will not work out for full protection. I should have watched the videos earlier.
You have to seriously molest the shield to make it attach to the corners. There is a penalty for spending too much time or not enough time on molding it. There is also a penalty for finger oils, too much liquid, not enough liquid, blah blah blah. This is no Shamwow!
I will try to record me putting it together on mine for the first time so we can share in the fun.
Their videos are like step 1...step 2...step 154,987...hahaha
I love knowing that we are about to spray a plastic product with a bunch of liquid and then adhere it mere millimeters away from the warranty voiding pink water sensitive tabs.
Man, Im a negative SOB on something I have never tried. Sorry Zagg I will correct myself if needed.
Perhaps I should have gone with one of the brands I used for my 8125 or my x61tablet.
Hi:
Can someone who has applied an Invisible Shield to a Touch Pro/Fuze, please post a good quality, up close picture of how it looks after installation? I have looked at their site, but all the pics as fairly small.
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Saved for pictures of install.

havent tried the back yet
You should all return your InvisibleShield and buy a real full body kit with BodyGuardz.
Way better then the crap you get from Zagg and BodyGuardz give you 2 full kits.

Umm, but what about the PTT button? Doesn't look like there's an opening for it.

According to InvisibleShield there doesn't have one either. Just had a buddy of mine order one from them. All they have right now is the TouchPro. I guess just wait it out until they have with the PTT already cut out. I am going to modify mine when I get it. I'm not that picky about it. Just trying to save people the trouble of ordering from Zagg. Probably the worse customer service I had ever experienced.
I just ordered a full body kit from ghost armor, it should be here in a few days. Any one ever used it? I assume they are all about the same as far as installation. I have just the screen protection from body gaurdz right now, it has a lot of drag on the screen (stylus doesn't slide very well)
Contacted Zagg they approved my return. Im assuming the guardz is the same type of material as Zagg uses? Reason being, on the touch screen it provides a much better feel that other screen protectors.
Cant really explain it buy it sort of gives you a light grip its an amazing feel compared to a bare screen or a normal screen protector in general

To be fair, I have used InvisibleShield's on my Tilt, MDA, Nintendo DS and Sony PSP and those things are indestructible! After 1-3 years, they are all still going strong.

I agree.
...boxwave
I'm curious to see how well the invisibleshield went on the back of the fuze. I was thinking of getting it, but just for the back. I use on all of my devices with screens the boxwave anti-glare. Some ppl argue that it dims the screen, makes it look less sharp, and I disagree. They make all my devices from my Palm Lifedrive down to my Sony PSP usable outside, and that's a biggy for me. So the first thing I'm doing when I open my fuze box is going to be taking the already unwrapped boxwave and putting it on, before I even turn on the device.
But the back worries me, it seems like a scratch magnet, and I want to get that protected too. Anyone want to post pics from their installs? How hard was it with all those facets?

Well they might be strong but there customer service is compared that of Raiders offensive production this season. Abysmal.
I have never in my life been so admiment about asking for a return. I have dealt with mobile providers customer services, which by industry standards is always pretty bad, but Zagg has reached a new low.
I never said they had a horrible product by any means, but there Customer service was enough to make me post, not only this post but numerous others about the company. Whoever is running the company needs to make a serious adjustment on the way they handle customers. I ordered a InvisibleShield or I should deem it "The Shield that never came to be" on Saturday the 15th. The informed that the Shield would be shipped in 3-5 business days. Never heard a response after 5 business days. When I e-mailed the company asking them about it. Nothing. No response for 2 days. When I asked the "Customer Service Represenative" about where the order was all the could tell me was that it was processing.
When I called for further clarification all I could get was the same answer and the lady on the phone told me "I have no idea why it hasn't shipped yet" When I told her my complaints about the company all she said in response was, "I'm sorry to heard that." Not, how can I make this better for you. Or I will check on your order right now and make sure that it's shipped out today. I immediately there after cancelled my order and sent my money else where. Of course I have to wait 3 - 5 business days for my money to be returned to my bank account. Funny that it took less then 12 hours for them to take the money but takes 3 - 5 business days for the money to be put bank into my account. Funny how that works.
If you are happy with InvisibleShield, then so be it. I just wanted other people on XDA to know about the horrible customer service that I experienced.
A side note. Another fellow XDA member purchased a invisbleshield the day after I ordered mine. He received his order last Wednesday. How does somebody who ordered the same exact product in the same state one day after me get the product before me. What's funny about though is that he received a invisibleshield for another phone not the Fuze.
Once again another stellar example of the applitude of people running Zagg.

I recently noticed a new Zagg booth a the mall, and I wondered if anybody has used their services. Is it worth the $10 install fee? Do you trust your N1 in other people's hands? Should I just go for it?

Ask the guy how much experience he has and if you're comfortable with his knowledge, go for it. If I had a booth at my local mall, I'd definitely drop the $10 for install. One question though.. Zagg recommends 24 hours of wait time after installing the skin and using the phone. What do they do at the booth to speed that up?

Ya, see that's what I was thinking. I mean their installation is only about 30 min; they didn't say anything about waiting 24hrs (probably want to sell you first). I would do it regardless just because it's general knowledge around these parts. My main problem is letting go of my phone to random people with liquids..

That's a good point... but they should be bonded. Ask them what happens if the phone is damaged by their installation.
I think they charge too much for it, and its not as great as you think it is, did it my white mytouch 3g and the plastic starts to fade after a few weeks, and started peeling, they said full replacement lifetime, which I paid extra for, but I dont wanna put up with the hassle going back.
My suggestion, since N1 screens are actually scratch resistant, I tried scratching it with my keys Just buy a nice case for it Its alot cheaper, you can buy 2-3 of em and have different look on your phone every few days.
My 2 cent
EDIT: here are few sites you can check out, I bought my cases here

I have a dell streak with a screen that is cracked.
I had it in my pocket and when i pulled it out the screen had cracked clear across the smaller width. its about 1/3 of the way down the device.
the lcd functions fine, but im not going to use it after I saw the youtube vids of broken lcds...
So Officially ( as I just talked to customer support), Dell has decided that the device screen falls outside of warranty, and that there are ZERO repair options at the current time. They are also 'real sorry' about the fact that I still have a monthly mobile bill and no way to stop it. Hope fully I can pay AT&T in sorrys next month.
They took my Service Tag, and gave me a ticket# for when i hear that repair options are available. So I have to make sure I keep listening real good!
The Uniform Commercial Code Article 2 dictates contractual terms for the sale of goods. All goods carry with them an implied warranty of merchantability/fitness unless disavowed. Products may be returned within a "commercially reasonable period of time." That period of time is determined through trade usage, custom, course of dealing, and course of performance.
You'd think that putting a phone in your pocket would fall under normal course of performance...
Warranties are meant to cover manufacturer defects. The glass breaking due to it being in your pocket is not a defect. Gorilla glass is marketed to be stronger not indestructible.

your caps lock key seems to be stuck...
kou5oku, how did the glass break in the first place? I hate to tell you that I completely agree with mandarb77 about this not being under warranty.
As for martywix, I hate people like you. You are the reason most call center associates want to shoot themselves after a days work. All you just stated (in full caps none the less) was that if you cry and complain enough a company will cave in, giving you a product to get you off their back. Hell you practically yelled your message above.
Although this is extremely unfortunate (not to mention expensive), I think you have to take a loss and buy a new phone. Or be like every other American and cry enough to a point that the company finds you pathetic and caves.

Not being warrenty is one thing, not being able to repair it for money is just
I broke mine. Well I didn't. The train moved very fast to the right and the device fell from the table to the floor while I wasn't there.
The touchscreen and LCD works, no harm. But the glass is broken in about every peace there can be (I guess 100 or so). I have had an iPhone for years (all but the 3GS). And yes it fell to the floor one time or another (thorugh my fault) and there was not a single scratch. Nor was there with any other device (HTC, Motorola whatsoever).
And if Dell's going to tell me they can't repair it (even for money) I will go crazy.
Why? It's just unbelievable that they sell phones they aren't able to repair (and the phones out for 3 months).
If I sell it now (repaired) it will go for 500-600€. If I sell it in 6 months (after being repaired) it will sell for 300-400€. That's 200€ minus cause Dell isn't able to replace the glass?
I will ask for legal advice if necessary. This is just bull.
I'm so mad and totally afraid to call and hear such a bull****.
And a device, which is being damaged the hard way in an Engadget video and then breaking so easily... That's just a total lie. This test device never ever has the same glass/screen as those being sold after. Never ever. If you watch the Engadget video and quite a lot reports on many forums that the screen broke, you can ask yourself if this is always the customer.
Cheaply produced glass.

Why is it if you forget to turn the cap lock off people assume you are yelling. I love it when i try to help a fellow streak owner get satisfaction from a product he paid good money for. Lets get real the screen breaking from putting it in our pockets, the same thing happened to me. Sorry I have had other HTC and Sony phones and have carried all in my pocket and have never had a problem. Also I didn't cry about it. I spoke with a supervisor in the mobile dept. and she actually said this has been a problem with the device. The gorilla glass is strong but unfortunaly the LCD is not. That is why she asked if the gorilla glass was not broken or scratched. If the gorilla glass is damaged then they will not replace. Sorry I paid good money and will not get the brush from someone at the call center who has never seen the device let alone know about the screen. Funny in the HD2 forum peole actually were thankful for help...Hope you don't keep it in your pocket.

Yes lets get real, the Streak's screen breaking from putting it in our pocket is very likely. A 5in screen will flex on your thigh. You cannot compare it to an HTC or Sony Ericsson phone as they do not have a 5in device.

I did not mean literally cry about it. I was merely metaphorically relating your "DEMAND" and stubbornness to be "WILLING TO SPEND THE WHOLE DAY ON THE PHONE" to that of a child, who at times do cry.

That quote is taken out a context and does not apply for this situation. brycestejskal had stated in his post that dell offered a replacement or a refund.
kou5oku on the other hand said that there was no replacement or refund offered as well as no way to repair it.
Plenty of people have broken the screens of other makes of phone before, a quick look on eBay will prove that. As has been said above and many times before here and elsewhere a smaller phone will site easier in your pocket than a Streak, you cannot expect something the size this thing is to survive the flexing it will take in a tight pocket, use some common sense.
Forgot to turn the caps lock off? Nobody types line after line and then hits the post button without ever looking at what they've written. Typing in capitals is shouting, if you're going to do it at least have the gonads to own up to it.
In fairness Gorilla glass will bend almost as much as acrylic before breaking, its reasonable to expect the LCD to crack LONG before the gorilla glass.
As for the 'no repair option' thing, that unforgivable, a company the size of Dell should not release a device they cannot repair, its ridiculous. My understanding is that the Streak is made by BenQ not Dell, but even so, it should have service backup from launch.
Gentlemen, good evening.
Having stumbled upon this thread, may i respectfully request that you refrain from shouting, flaming, trolling and the use of bad language.
I can understand frustrations of breaking ones device, but there is no need to take this frustration out on other members......remember, respect other members (see my sig).
I think that everyone can now move on. I have taken the liberty of tidying this thread up so do not be offended if your post has been altered or deleted, we have over 2.7 million people who frequent this site and therefore we have a wider audience to consider.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation and please show support for your forum moderator; he is here voluntarily to help you (as am I) and to keep xda a better place.
Greetz,
Tim.
I have also fallen pray to the pocket of death for the Dell Streak. I understand where they are coming from the no replacement policy and no refund policy, but not being able to repair my streak for a price because "Dell does not have a department in place yet to handle such a problem." Everyone I talked to told me that exact same thing. The worst part is I just received my unlock code from At&t so I could finally use it on Rogers in Canada.
But the whole whining and crying thing, I think I might have to do that. Because if they are not willing to take my money to fix my Streak, then I will "cry" to get a new one. A previous post said it was like a little child whining, well I am looking at this way, "Manning up to it" doesn't get my Streak fixed or a replacement. "Manning up" puts me down $1200 (for the first phone and the second one to replace), if I look at that way "crying like a child" wins.
Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if my supposedly new zoom I just purchased from Best Buy was actually new or a return. It started up like it was new with all the setup stuff. What seemed kind of funny was when a went into my user defined dictionary there was all kinds of foul words in it like it had been used before. also it had software on it that didn't seem like it would come with a new device. Software like Craps, Blacjack, US presidents Trivia, Vampire Trivia just to name a few. Was I sold a used Xoom as New. Thanks for any help.
Keith
My Xoom case was sealed. The Xoom itself was in plastic i hade to take off. And none of the apps you mention was on mine. I have the Wifi Xoom, maybe things is different on the 3g Xoom.
I would consider taking it back.
When you got it, was the seal on the box broken? Did it have the protective film on the screen? If it wasn't like this video when you opened it, I'd say so. And also, was it advertised as completely new, or new condition?
Thanks for Quick reply. I actually never had the box in my hands. I had them put a Zagg screen protector on it. Sales person took it in back room came out with screen protector on it. I think they tried to pull a fast one on me. Some of the words in the user dictionary were f**king bit*h a**hole amoung others.

Yes....the games installed were a dead giveaway....they sold you a used one, not even reconditioned, because then they would have wiped the data. Someone returned one for whatever reason, and when they took it in back to put the ZAGG on it, they made the swap for some reason.
I would not even bother with dealing with the sales people...take it straight to the manager and raise holy hell. Say your kid had used it for school, found that language in the dictionary...permanently scarred.......going to sue...blah blah. You will come out with a new one and a case AND a giftcard.
Thanks for the help taking back as soon as they open today. I will raise hell with them. This was way out of line. Those salesmen should be fired!
I also have to get all my personal data off here before I return it what a big waste of time.

Be careful not to wipe any of the stuff that was already on there.
I would either get a new one or keep the one you got with benefits as some money back or free accessories.
A returned device should always be sold at a lower price and the customer has to be informed that the unit is a returned one.
On a funny side, tell them you are like Jackie Chan you don't curse and don't use guns, and you felt awfully offended by the words specially when your kids are insulting you because they are too smart for that tablet and found the dictionary before you.
Just sayin....
hope you get some goodies.
definitely a used one. maybe a demo one with salesteam. Great advice by folks above.
I used to bought one Samsung Galaxy Tab from Queens Mall Center the Srpnt Sales booth .
It was the last one but the sales person spinning his head(seriously, he spins his head to show definite yes to my question "whether it is a new one") promising that is a new/unopened one.
And guess what?
When I open Samsung Galaxy for the first time, there was one video in the device shooting the booth manager talking to customer (shooting from the manager's back).
I took it back, and show them the video. (strongest evidence I ever had and no dispute whatsoever).
And as a result of being disgusted, I just returned Samsung Galaxy and not planning to buy anyone from sprint for a while.
Take it back!
i had some isues with 3 xooms that google books were not working as youtube icon.
Well after i research the solution of my problem thanks XDA. i went to buy a new one.
Well the sales person at best buy offered me a new one on a seal box for regular price... and also had offered me an opem item while he said he had opened by mistake idk if it was return or not.
Well he offered me return item for $519.00 so i went for it. i got a girft card back for my remaining balance... abotu $70. i got my self a Motorola case $39.99 and i still have some balance on my gift card.
Until then i havent got any problems with it. was clean though.. like new..
Like peple had mention above you should be able to bring it up to Manager and come out with some freebies and some discounts.. good luck!
make sure you tell the manager it is illegal to sell used items as new. tell them you want COMPLETE satisfaction and a reasonable compensation for your time wasted, aggregation caused by their store and to help restore your trust in best buy. remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. so stay calm, polite but firm and you could walk out with a major win.
I'd skip going to the store all together and write a scathing, but well worded letter to Best Buy corporate including the store number and all the pertinent information. Tell them you and your son were deeply offended by the words found in the dictionary. Make up some scenario where you were typing in a recipe for fudge in a text message and the dictionary suggested "****" as an alternative.
I've been in a few of these situations and have always found that going directly to corporate yields the best results. Do some Google searching or gather some intel at at the Best Buy in question and find out who the regional manager is. This is the information age and people's contact information isn't hard to get. Get people above the retail level involved and heads will roll, especially in the corporate structure where back stabbery and employees screwing eachother over is common place.
EDIT: Threatening legitimate lawsuits is a definite attention getter, and your case seems quite legitimate.
Can't you just match the serial number on the box with the one in the Xoom to verify if it was swapped?
Definitely go in and speak to a store manager. Threaten to call the BBB and while you're at it try and secure an OTG cable.

Agreed, snatch a free otg cable from them while your at it. It will save you a headache later on... plus you deserve it, I'd be pissed.
I'd be even more pissed if i was that Samsung dude up there.

I'd take it back and demand some sort of compensation. You're most certainly not the first user.
Mine was an open-box return, but it was flawless as far as I could tell and they gave me $50 bucks off. At least tell them you want some accessories or a BB gift card or something.

I would also advise, while saying this do not start taking your pants off. This did not work well for me after following this posters advice.
so what happened?
Check the serial number on the receipt vs the xoom. Tale tale sign.
I was the proud owner of a shiny brand-new Galaxy S3 as of 7 p.m. July 14. On my way to the mall just before 3 p.m. the next day to purchase a cover, it slipped out of my hand and hit the pavement. Damage to screen and bezel from a fall of only 2 1/2 feet. The back cover even popped off! I had watched the drop tests for this phone and knew that with this one there was no way I'd think about not getting a protective cover. It is definitely not as tough as the other previous Galaxy S models. But I never would have expected so much damage from such a short fall. Anyways, it is going to cost me 130.00 for the deductible through the insurance claim, plus the aggravation that is already starting. It was supposed to be easy-peasy. Instead of helping me in store (they kept saying they couldn't do that-access to my account purchases at their fingertips plus me there in person with ID!), I have to print out an affidavit along with proof of ID. I totally understand that, but why not just help me in store! You guessed it, I don't have my own printer (I've been meaning to rectify this) although I do have a scanner. Long story short, lack of a scanner means I lose 24 hours-can't do this until tomorrow. Then barring any further BS from T-Mob or Asurion, I'm told I get a new phone the next day. Too bad I'll be out of town by then, but, oh, well. That's what I get for not having a printer. Now for the real rant! Gorilla glass my a$$! If Samsung is going to make a phone with this slick plastic back and with a plastic bezel, they should just ship it with some cheap plastic protective cover so that you can make it out of the store and have time to shop for a cover to your own liking! Don't get me wrong, I love my new phone, however I'll really consider the build quality of the next phone I buy. I will especially pay attention to slick edges and plastic bezels.

This was after completing the first step of the onling claims process. Instead of an Asurion rep, the next page directed me to call T-Mobile customer care! Again, could have just done that at the store an hour earlier! Yeah, I know, they aren't really there to help, lol!

Dang. The glass does feel INCREDIBLY thin compared my old Vibrant. I too gotta get a case. That bezel protection was the shizz.
Sucks man
I too have seen all the drop tests and this phone, whether it be the size of the screen or the plastic casing, doesn't hold up when dropped. I get my phone tomorrow but ordered a case last week with a lip so I'd have protection on day one

But seriously.. you said it yourself.. You knew the SGS III was eaiser to break then your grandma's fancy china.. And you knew you should have had a case.. why didn't you?
I have had mine cased in a bulky 2 layerd cheap ebay case while I wait for a kraken or the defender to come out.
Anyone who does not case their SGS III is living life on the edge.

The guy at Car Toys brought out the ugliest case I'd ever seen, so I refused it. Went out the next day at my earliest convenience to buy a decent case. One block from home, disaster struck! Would have been cheaper to buy that case and throw it away the next day. It is costing me $130.00 in deductible fees for the replacement. Now I've read that some guy dropped his while in a case and it still broke.
EDIT: Thank you moderator, I'm so sorry for my mistake!

Simple solution: don't drop your phone. I didn't drop my HD2 in the whole year I had it.
I have to tell customers the same thing, we have nothing to do with Asurion, you can use my phone but I cant file anything for you unfortunately.
The only reason you have to jump through so many hoops with Asurion is because since you just got it, it hasnt registered on your account, so there is really not way for them to know if you actually own the phone unless you provide that affidavit and proof or purchase.............I broke my S3 after 2 days and even though i work for T-Mo and still had to go through the same thing

That's what I wanted from them, to use their phone. Also would've saved me time if I could have printed that form right in the store. I had everything I needed with me at the store: receipt, box with IMEI, my ID. I wasn't asking them to do it for me, just to call from there and confirm from their records that I purchased the phone. Anyway, a couple of calls today to Asurion got them to approve my claim a little faster, but not in time for the replacement to arrive before i leave for Seattle. So it's being shipped to where I will be there.
Mine broke within 6 hours of having it. I got it, late at night, fell asleep while texting, and when i woke up it was on the floor and the screen was cracked to hell. I silently weeped. I was suppose to get a case the next day.

We have no way of confiming your purchase unfortunately, they only accept a copy of the reciept or scan of the box
Iunno but to me, when I see the drop tests of the s3 90% of the time the drops are done by women. And it seems like 90% of the people who have been dropping their phones have been men c.c....men are generally stronger and taller than women so........iunno just my 2 cents

So quick run down, I pre-ordered the phone on launch day of announcement, and the phone came in today. i was so excited! anyways messing around with it some, and it was pretty damn cool! got on my car, had the phone on my lap, took a turn and it went in between the car seat, and the center console ( "pit of death", or "the void" as i call it ). Once i got home, and started to fish for the phone, and when i grabbed it i heard a crack. This is the result....
im now contacting google to see how much it would cost to get it fixed since i didnt get the protection plan (first phone that ever broke on me so i thought i would be fine), if not just repair it myself.
Edit:
So to give users a TL,DR version of the scenario, I was handed over to another company for no warranty support. OEM parts so not bad. replacement cost for screen is $150.
damnnnnnn that hurts i have already ordered the few cases.
I'm gonna go by Verizon in the morning, see if they have a case for a decent price. I dropped my Note 7 in the void a few times, but since it was on recall I couldn't care less. Now that I'm stuck with the Pixel XL for 2 years, I am gonna protect it lol. Keep us updated on the cost of repairs, though. I didn't get the insurance either
That sucks man. Let us know how much will be to fix it.
That blows... :/ Makes me kinda glad I ordered it with a case and glass screen protector.
So after calling Google, i pretty much got bounced back and forth between them and HTC. I'm not gonna deal with that crap.
There seems to be a shop close to me that seems to have replacement screens available for $150, thinking of just biting the bullet because looking around online, doesn't seem to have much options without being stuck waiting.
Sort of blows cause my tempered glass protector was scheduled to arrive either tomorrow or saturday.

for you.....
One reviewer had a 5 inch pixel that broke the screen. Seems even with gorilla glass these phones are fragile. Waiting on mine from the google but ordering a good case now...
As I'm fretting about why my order has been processing for 50 hours now I see this and now I feel less crappy.
My condolences OP.
If you used a Credit card to purchase it you may have some kind of protection

I was worried about this exact thing. Does Google not have an official repair service set up for incidents like this? If so, this is going to be really bad for anyone who hasn't purchased the protection..

Can you not add the insurance after the purchase within a certain time? Make the claim afterwards? Just a thought

Wow major bummer.. ordering one of those rhinobumper thingy's that xda promoted... the video sold me, I'll try it to protect my baby.
Bummer! Although hearing you called Google and are getting bounced between them AND HTC is very disheartening! Thought this phone was "the first by Google"?! And that HTC was basically a silent partner. If indeed the case, Google should be handling this themselves, not bouncing people off to HTC...a vendor who isn't even on the marketing materials!

This. Most of these policies have a week or two grave period where you can opt in.

For some reason, Google won't let you add warranty after placing the order (preorder). It has to be at order time itself.
I tried to add warranty even before my phone was shipped, and was told "No"
If paid with credit card, there may be hope. Or add square trade warranty.

Yeah sucked getting bounced back to each other. I'll probably try giving them a call again in the morning to see what happens then. Hopefully I wont get bounced around by them and get this resolved by them, I would like to try to avoid a 3rd party if possible.
so i just realized not too long ago after removing the case that there is a slight bump on the back side of it too. I really hope it doesn't affect the internals in any way shape for form.
I was on the fence about buying a case. I am now buying a crazy fancy one.
$900 for a phone that easily cracks?
HTC is handling repairs I read somewhere. It sounds like they may not have all their ducks in a row yet between HTC and Google on repairs.
