Actually, if you do a search online, HTC had a BIG problem with their batteries overheating and in some cases exploding. It was the Dynapack batteries I believe that had the problem. Look at your batter and see what it says, but if you are still under warranty, HTC will send you a free replacement.

if the center pin is making good contact with the battery, than yeah, you might want to get it looked at.

i had the same ****. Flashed everything back to normal and send it to HTC. They replaced my main board.
My Hd2 will not power on without the charger plugged in. and then once i unplug the charger it shuts right off. My battery says 100. Can someone help me and tell me whats possibly wrong.
check the battery pins, they bend very easily. If its not that, then you have a faulty battery or a faulty phone. (99 times in 100 its a bent battery pin)

I had the same problem... I even replaced my battery but still no luck. I was running an android rom and my friend suggested to flash a new rom. I did that and there... Task accomplished! hope this works for you if the battery pin thing didn't...

Contact your seller instantly and get both phone and charger replaced.
The fact that u cent using it even tho it was getting got is dangerous.
U don't want to wake up in the night with your house on fire.
Yup that is a terminal hardware failure from the charger. More concerning is the impact on the phone and battery.
Request everything to be replaced.
Good luck.
You sohuld definetly contact the seller. If you don't like the LG charger. Buy one from another retailer

definately warrantee, dont let seller tell you you need to buy replacement charger, this is covered by warrantee. 98% sure
I smashed my Moto X Style screen. I tried to replace it manually, and when I turned it on it wouldn't charge beyond about 3-4%. When I unplugged, it would die instantly. I figured I may have shorted the battery in the process of replacing the screen.
I have now replaced the battery, and I'm still getting the same issue. I've tried a factory reset, different chargers, cleaning the motherboard contacts, replugging the battery several times... It will still not charge beyond about 32%. I can't post a screenshot of Ampere because I've 3 posts, so I'll type it out instead I guess:
Status: Discharging
Plugged: AC Charger
Level: 28%
Health: Cold
Technology: Li-Ion
Temperature: -22.5C
Voltage: 3.762 V
XT1572
7.0
NPHS25.200-15-8
I don't know why it's saying it's cold. It'll display totally different levels all the time. I've been trying to drain it to 0% to recalibrate it. It got to 1%, turned off, but I was able to turn it on another 2 times. I've plugged it in, and now it says 13%. The battery has never gotten warm whilst plugged in and I left it plugged in overnight but it only had "15%".
I've asked on so many forums and I've not gotten an answer to this. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
Sounds like the mainboard connector got broken, perhaps inside where you can't see it, or one of the micro-solder joints... My guess is you need a new mainboard, which for that amount of work you might as well just replace the whole thing.

It did sound like something on the motherboard was most likely broken, wanted to make sure. At that time I gave up and ordered a 3T, but I really liked the Moto X and wanted to give another try and repairing it.
do you sell it?thanks

The LCD on my device has a black line going down the side so that's a no-go.
