Actually, if you do a search online, HTC had a BIG problem with their batteries overheating and in some cases exploding. It was the Dynapack batteries I believe that had the problem. Look at your batter and see what it says, but if you are still under warranty, HTC will send you a free replacement.
Hi,
I have weird problem. When I am charging my G1 with charger, digitizer gets crazy, it doesn't react on that place where I touch screen (e.g. I touch in upper left corner, and behaves like I slided bottom middle), but when I slide/open keyboard, everything is OK and also when I charge from USB on computer. Problem is only when I'm charging with charger, with closed keyboard.
I tried more than one charger, result is the same. Also I used more ROMs. And I have bought this G1 second hand.
Have you any ideas? Is it HW problem or could it be SW?
thanks.
Are you using a generic charger & what rom are you running?
Oh I have the same problem too. I solved it by using a Motorola charger. It's only 500mA so it charges slower, but the screen doesn't go crazy.

I think that charger I tried at first was stock for G1, but I'm not sure. And now I am using new charger from ebay which is 500mA
it was crazy also on not rooted 1.6, and now I am using Biffmod 2.0.1, on 1.8 that same.

I have 500mA charger, but it doesn't mean, that what's written on that charger is true, it is something cheap from ebay
but it makes sense, when I slide keyboard, it maybe uses more energy and from charger and then doesn't "overpower" digitizer (hope you understand what I mean)
need to find "slower" charger
I would spend a little extra & get the factory charger. If i recall you can find the old HTC tytn or any of those old school windows mobile 6.1 chargers for under $10 & they should work (make sure its not the micro usb kind). I found one on ebay the other day for $6 shipped.
Wow! I didn't think that I would've been the charger. I've having the same problem now I back using the factory charger and no problems at all. The charger that I was using was from a purchase I made off of ebay.

Same here with a generic charger (came with an 2200 battery)
mAh doesnt seem to be the problem, mine goes crazy with the 800mAh generic (BLU brand) charger, but works fine with the 1A HTC charger that came with my old 8125
Im sorry if this had been posted before i didnt really find it. could have been asking the wrong questions and in advance thank you for pointing me in any direction or any help. okay to the issue, i bought some cheap china batts on ebay just to keep charged in my pocket for boarding (music, video, pandora rip throuh batts) or just for whenever. i norm just use the oem samsung battery but when switching it the other day i must had missed my pocket and dropped my oem off the lift or something. when i use these other non oem batts the phone says cannot connect to battery. i cant not charge it (not a problem because have like a just batt charger so i swap back and forth) or my comp wont see it cuz of the usb wont connect. how do i fix this besides buying a new oem batt? (hurttin on cash between xmas and moving into my first place) for 30 bucks i can just deal for now. and fixes at all?
From what I've heard, the phone will not recognize a non-OEM battery so you will just have to continue using the separate battery charger for now. Just keep them all charged I guess until you can save up for an OEM battery.

I use the Seidio battery and it works fine.
how much and where can i find one?
I can confirm your issue. I purchased 4 batteries with 2 wall chargers in October for $20 shipped and my facinate will not reconize them. Besides having to charge them in the wall charger they work great. Hate to say this but you will need to buy either a wall charger to charge them or an OEM battery...

Almost certainly bad hardware. My first i9000 had a problem with charging, so they just swapped it for another.
Take it in and try another.
i am not really into it and it could be absolutely nonsense xD sry if so
could it be that your charger is only for ~220-240V and you are trying to charge it in a country with ~110V

no way
if it is 220V or 110v
i have usb way to charge it>>no diffrents!
I have a plugin charger & a USB charger. When I plug my USB charger, it charges quite fast. But with the wall charger, there seems to be a problem. I discovered that my daughter had tried to push it in the wrong way & has bent the pins way too little. Now, when I have to use the wall charger, I need to shift the phone a few times for it to connect. Is it possible to bend the pins INSIDE your phone socket? Is that why it isn't connecting properly?
always the phone is showing charging so no way for desconnectiing the charger or the pin inside
Don't know if this is your problem but the charger that came with my phone was very slow, it would take about 6 hours to do a full charge. I bought one off the internet designed for a blackberry and it charges my phone in 2 hours now.
I have been using my nexus 7 2012 for a year now .. it worked brilliant .. but now this horrible issues has sprung in from nowhere .. the battery wont charge up, or rarely it does,, but very slowly. i am running stock 4.4 unrooted . i have checked my ports for dust, swapped several cables and chargers (also used the original charger and cable). but with no luck. Surprisingly the problem appeared suddenly, one day it charged normally , the next day i left it on charge at 60% and returned to find it on 59%.. help me .. this is driving me crazy
Install the Battery Monitor Widget - should give you an idea of charging/power consumption. I'm assuming you've tried using the stock charger and cable?

Yes i used stock and non stock chargers and cables .. i am using battery widget reborn app to monitor the battery stats.. i also attached the screen shots but for some reason they are not showing up
I think your battery connector is messed up. U might have to open your tablet and disconnect then reconnect the cables.

Search in the forum people have fixed it many times u have top open up your tablet and dc/rc yout battery.
]I too have this same issue....
I have the official dock and never had any charge issues until yesterday....
While it's in the dock, it clearly shows it charging and yet the battery meter appears to be losing charge...
I have tried with the original cable and plug among other cables and yet nothing...
The only way for me to get charged is to turn the unit off and yet it still charges painfully slow...
Anyone with a solution other than opening the thing up and hoping it's the plug?
I am running 4.4.2
Mine's having the same problem. It seems to be a hardware problem.. It's charging very slowly or can't be fully charged.
* I have other devices running 4.4 without charging problems.
Mine started with the 4.4.2 update....
It's very strange... If I turn it off and charge... it charges (again) very slowly.... 3 hours and I went from a 2% charge to 59%...
Doesn't matter if I use the dock or plug it in direct.....
So, to me... I would say a software problem... I just don't want to do a full reset and re-install if I don't have too...
my wife's was all the way dead today after not being used and wouldn't turn on. left it plugged in for 30 min and it powered on with only 2% battery. i t is stock unrooted and everything was all good until 4.4.2 is now charging very slowly. I switched to a non oem usb wire with the asus charger to see if it helps. it is the only stock android in my home (out of 7 devices) and I plan to keep it that way for now.
I've been having this issue for about a week and its not fixed. Anyone here can link me to the post where the guy DC/rc his cables? I'll try anything

You can find it on youtube.. Just search for Nexus 7 battery fix.. I've tried on both my wife's and my Nexus 7 but it's not helping. Be careful not to break any connectors..

N7 is very easy to open and close back.
I had the EXACT same issue 2-3 times this year and disconnecting the cable and reconnecting it back fixes it EVERY TIME.
The battery cable is short and the battery is loose so movement pulls the cable out. Not all pins are touching so it results in poor contacts or no contact at all.
Its a design flaw that can also be fixed by sticking a folded paper under the battery.
Voilà!

I'll try that when I get home. My n7 has not been charging for so long its starting to scare me. I tried pushing the cables in but it seems like its pushed as far in as it'll go.

Ok...
I have opened it up and reset the battery cables...
They originally looked pretty secure though... pretty tight....
Here's hoping that unplugging and plugging the battery back is solves the issue...
I be back....

Tried unplugging and replugging but it's still the same. I think it's my charging connector though. It randomly disconnects when I plug it into the PC. Tried with 3 different cables even the stock one. But I'm not sure if it's the port or the battery. It charges up to < 60 slowly but it doesn't go beyond that and starts draining. Thinking of selling it and getting a flo instead

Just a thought, but another possibility is that the ribbon cable to the USB/headphone jack flex assembly has worked loose to the point of intermittent connections. See "step 10" of iFixit's N7 teardown
Or, if the connector itself is mechanically damaged, maybe there is some way to buy just that Asus sub-assembly. Anyone have a source?
picture of sub-assembly ->
Edit - wow, folks are selling them on eBay for US $50. yikes.
I have the same problem, I purchased a nexus 7 charging dock from Amazon and it charges flawlessly. The dock charges using the 4 pins on the side of the tablet. BTW...The charging dock is under 24.00+ Shipping.
