Doh...I can't follow directions! - Mogul, XV6800 General

I'm trying to return to a Stock Rom. I had SPL-2.47No2Chem Titan SPL EVT and dcd's 3.2.6: 8-22-08 WM 6.1 CE OS 5.2.20275 Build 20275.1.3.3 installed on my Mogul. Instead of flashing the bootloader first as the directions stated from the "Titan Stock" page, I accidentally missed that step and went straight to reloading the Stock Rom that I downloaded from Sprint HTC (_HTC Mogul (Sprint)_RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_TITAN_3.42.02_SPCS2.04_PPST_0718_Ship.exe). I did the downgrade via USB. Amazingly, I didn't brick the phone and once WinMo booted up, everything worked, even the internet. I was sweating it there for a second.
My question is can I just reload SPL-2.07.0000 without having to reload the RUU again? If yes, will all my contacts, programs, etc. be gone after I the change? Thanks.

New phone. Did I screw it up?

I just got my new HTC HD and I used USPL and flashed Dutty's newest ROM according teo the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3638336#post3638336
In step 6e it says "Turn off your phone. I personally do it right after flashing completes and I see the "Smart Mobility" screen. I just yank the battery out instead of waiting for it to boot up all the way and go through customization process just to hard reset ". Well, I did that but when I was pulling the battery out teh graphics on the screen whent all screwy. Now teh graphics are corrupted. I've hard reset and it changed nothing. Did I screw up my phone permanently?
[Update]
OK, I flashed the RUU_BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1.57.831.1_Radio_52.64.25.34_1.14.25.24_Ship.exe ROM adn the phone is back to normal. I guess that measn I did something wrong in flashing Dutty's ROM earlier. I will try again tonight and see what happens.
Hi Roger
I am not an expert in this area but if you should have ensured 2 steps beforehand:
Firstly updated the stock ROM to that provided by HTC to 1.56
Secondly, then used the HardSPL program to allow yourself to use cooked 1.56 ROMS going forward.
Can you still get bootloader up? This is done by switching the phone off (you should get a warning sign about data being lost) and then switching back on again pressing the down button.
If you can then there are instructions on how to get yourself out of your current predicament.
Hope this helps.
Kaid
Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I put on the stock 1.56 (which my phone had never had on it before) and then updated to the cooked rom and everything is fine. I thought I could skip the step with the stock 1.56 rom because I thought I read that somewhere on here but obviously that wasn't the case.

ROM Flash Issues

Im trying to load a custom rom onto my XV6900. I got everything together and went a head but ran into an issue. I'll start with all the phones history. I got it and then when the update to 6.1 leaked I installed that. Now just recently I started by following this tutorial http://www.atwistedweb.com/xv6900/index.html. I completed everything up until install upgraded radio with no problems. Then on this step I kept having an issue where it would flash loding but then just go to the boot screen and not do anything. After playing with it for a while I figured maybe the 6.1 update took care of this so I moved on. I got the same problem with the next step which after a little bit I figured out was because I wasnt formatting the card correctly. So then I started the ROM flash with no problem. It loaded and the progress bar completely filled up quickly. The issue is now it is just stuck saying update in progress and has been for about 20 min. Im not sure if its because I didnt do the radio update or if its somthing else. I figured before I do anything I would see what people suggest I should do next. Should I soft reset? Do you think its bricked now or will I be able to try another flash? Please let me know where to go from here. Oh and also the rom im trying to flash is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432487

Ok, just try and download nfsfan's 6.5 rom, put you phone in bootloader mode, (power, camera, softreset) The colored icoke screen should come up. Connect your phone to your computer with your usb cabe, on the bottom of the screen it will say usb connected (or something like that). Than just run RomUpdateUtility in the zip file you downloaded with the rom. It will connect to your phone and update it. After it's done, before it loads into windows perform a hard reset (send key, end key, and softreset). Once it's doing restoring again, allow it to boot up.
Should be okay after that. I've done several of them with no issue. Sometimes in rare cases you need to flash the latest bell rom first, and than update to nfsfan's 6.5 after that. Don't worry it won't 'relock' your phone.
Good luck
Ok here is an update on the phone. I tried installing the radio update but it froze on cdma. So then I grabed the verizon 6.1 update and reflashed it. So now im back to square one. What steps should I follow from wm 6.1 to a custom rom? Do I need to do the radio update or is the Rev A. included in the 6.1 update enough? If I need to do the radio update how would I go about that? Then is there a better process to follow for the ROM install?

What are you trying to accomplish? Do you simply want to flash a custom ROM or do you want to unlock the GPS too? If you are trying to unlock the GPS then this tutorial may not help you. http://www.atwistedweb.com/xv6900/index.html
I assume that your phone is already unlocked with 2.31. Once your phone is unlocked all you need to do is flash your custom ROM. This is unless you want to unlock the GPS. I would not worry about upgrading your radio just to upgrade it as there probably no benefit. I wouldn’t do it unless you knew of someone in your area that had success with better signal.
If you want to unlock your GPS I would follow this tutorial. As people have had success.
http://wiki.ppchaven.com/index.php?title=Pocket_PC_WIki:FIX_VERIZON_GPS
[1] Unlock with 0.40.coke
[2] Flash Sprint ROM RUU_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_1.12.651.1_2.13.00_SPC_NV133_Ship DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN
[3] Unlock with 2.31.coke
[4] Flash Verizon ROM RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.77_Ship DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN
[5] Flash any custom rom
[6] Skip
I would recommend using NFSFAN’s ROM. The above procedure should allow you to use your GPS with TomTom, Garmin, & such.
do the tutorial above for gps.
and if you need more info or want stuff to customize it, go to my faq,
but the above walkthrough is the one you want if you plan to use gps.

trouble flashing 02 6.1 ROM

I used to use the O2 6.1 ROM. It updated from 6.0 fine.
Then I flashed HardSPL and a 6.5 ROM. I tried to go back to O2 6.1 but I got stuck in the bootloader screen. The update stopped at 34%.
So I used NueTTY to run the set 16 0 and Task 8 commands. My phone rebooted into 6.5 again.
So I went back to the original 1.25 SPL, flashed using O2 6.1 and this time it stopped at 39%. I reused NueTTY to get back into 6.5.
I went back to HardSPL and flashed using a 3lit3 ROM. This flashed fine.
So... Every time I try to flash my phone using the 02 6.1 it freezes and leaves me in the bootloader screen.
Ive actually tried many more times. Using all three original SPLs I could find, ive tried flashing when its in the bootloader screen but it stops at 0%. I really want to go back to the original O2 6.1 ROM I had in the first place.
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
Looks like you're using radio 1.65x, that radio won't let you go back to any lower version of radio, I also have an original XDA Orbit2 and sometime before I went back to original O2 ROM with no trouble at all using HardSPL so if you do, use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3777108&postcount=430 and you'll be able to flash your original O2 ROM.
Be careful using terminal, that's the easiest way to brick your device if you don't know what you're doing.
Thanks for the reply.
It was a radio problem.
The camera button is broken on my phone! so I just tried to flash the phone (knowing it would leave me in the bootloader) and then flashed with the 1.64.08.21 radio.
The O2 rom flashed fine!
Got there at last.
Many Thanks!

Can't flash my HTC TD2

Hello XDA-ers.
I've flashed my phone with the new ROM from the htc website.
And today i wanted to put Dutty's ROM on it, but it wouldnt flash.. the update would get stuck on 0% and then nothing happens for 20 minutes..
I also tried the udK_Lea_R5_MW6.5_WWE rom but the same thing happened.
Is there something wrong with my phone?
Thanks in advance
You need to use Hard-SPL.
READ THIS and follow instructions!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312
Simple things first:
Have you run HardSPL? (Latest version is required, 1.83 at time of writing).
Have you tried loading into Bootloader manually before attempting to flash? (Hold VolDown when powering on).
If those fail, try and identify what has changed since you flashed the original ROM.
Aaah didnt knew i needed HardSPL..
First time i flashed my ROM it immidiatly worked =p
Thought that ROM screwed my phone in ever being flashed again .
Just needed the HardSPL ^^
Working smooth now, thanks !

Selling phone to website, how do i reset rom to origional?

So as the title says I am selling my phone through one of thoes websites and I think its best for the origional firmware to be on the phone. So my phone has hspl installed. well I can flash any of the 2.5 roms by just clicking the customruu.
When I first installed the hspl the origional roms colors were all messed up but everything thing fine once I installed a custom rom on it.
How do i get my phone back into its origional state?
Thanks a lot
So I have gone to htc website and am downloading their rom upgrade for my phone it is
_HTC Touch HD_MR_2009_RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship
With my current version of hspl will I be able to just install this and then somehow downgrade my hspl to whatevre it was to start with?
leave it where it is and charge more for custom rom
