Selling phone to website, how do i reset rom to origional? - Touch HD General

So as the title says I am selling my phone through one of thoes websites and I think its best for the origional firmware to be on the phone. So my phone has hspl installed. well I can flash any of the 2.5 roms by just clicking the customruu.
When I first installed the hspl the origional roms colors were all messed up but everything thing fine once I installed a custom rom on it.
How do i get my phone back into its origional state?
Thanks a lot

So I have gone to htc website and am downloading their rom upgrade for my phone it is
_HTC Touch HD_MR_2009_RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.1_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship
With my current version of hspl will I be able to just install this and then somehow downgrade my hspl to whatevre it was to start with?

leave it where it is and charge more for custom rom

HD2 not turning on after custom fROM flashing

Hi all,
I know how often these threads come up and I'm sorry to be posting one myself. I have used the search function to help me sort the problem out, but I just seem to be stuck.
Ok, so I had 1.48 official WWE ROM on my HD2 and thought of upgrading to a custom ROM unlocking the 576mb RAM.I used the following 'Lost in Asia Preloaded' ROM.
I did a HSPL before this and went on to install the ROM. The installation was unsuccessful and all I was getting was the white HTC screen from startup. Even after taking the battery out/red button reset, the problem was not fixed. I searched around a bit and did the following:
'you should get your stock rom, ONLY your stock rom, extract the file ruu_signed.nbh. copy that file to your sd card formatted to fat 32 rename the file to leoimg.nbh. phone off. hold volume down. tap power (keep volume held). phone should boot to three colors screen and start to flash.
this will ONLY work with original rom.'
This installation was unsuccessful as well and now the phone will not turn on and I'm getting an exclamation mark in a black screen.
Could anyone please help me out? Sorry for being a noob at this, I don't get the chance to keep myself updated about all the advancements in ROM development.
Thanks in advance for your help.
heh, seeing as you are quoting me I'll have a go at helping.
my first thought is that you didn't use the correct stock rom.
where is the phone from? did you buy it outright or on contract?
what country are you (was it bought) in?
Question 2 - can you get in to bootloader? (power off, making sure there is NOT a leoimg file on sd card, hold down volume, tap power, keeping down vol pressed till it starts to three coloured screen)
If you can get to that screen, look for the SPL bit, what does it say?
Hopefully something like 1.42.0000 or 1.42.HSPL?
Hey thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I did use your advice from a different thread.
Answer to the first question: I got this on contract from T Mobile UK in November.
Answer to the second question: I had a look again on the initial advice by you, saying that I should use the original ROM file. as stated before it was 1.48 and I was using 1.66 to fix the phone. Using the 1.48 image file has now brought the phone back to life and it now seems to be working fine. But I am stuck on 1.48.
About the SPL: Volume button held down and tapping the power button brings up a screen showing SPL-1.42.0000 XE
I wanted to upgrade to a more recent version of the ROM namely 1.66.707.1 with a more recent Radio version as well. Though flashing a recent custom ROM would be the answer. more ram would not hurt as well! Any help about how I might be able to go about this? a link to the right guide would be helpful as well.
Heh, glad its sorted. Heres a few pointers.
Your stock rom is the T Mo uk wwe 1.48 rom. Keep a copy of that handy just in case you ever break it again. That one will always (well, nearly always) take your phone back to stock if you do the sd card method with the leoimg file.
When you are flashing, you should idealy always use USB method, NOT sd card method - Reason? because flashing an official (eg 1.66) rom using sd card will not only overwrite your original rom, but also overwrite the phones SPL (including HSPL, thats how to uninstal HSPL for warranty purposes).
For flashing both official roms, or cooked roms, you should instal HSPL and then use USB method to flash the rom.(Same goes for flashing radios)
The only time you need to use sd card method is when you want to go back to factory default, and then you should only do so with that T Mo UK file.
If you flash a bad rom that wont boot, no problem, because HSPL will still be installed, because you used USB method, , , so just pick a different ROM and flash again from the pc, over USB, job done.
SD card flashing is risky unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing.
To move to 1.66 (or in fact any rom you like) do this
Instal HSPL
run the 1,66 installer from the PC (NOT SD CARD!)
wait for it to flash
Done.
Great thread guys!
Do we really install HSPL? because if the installed one is the official 1.48... the official 1.66 should be instalable by USB, right?. this is my case and I'm a little confused...
Qq
In my opinion it is best to install HSPL, and then instal the updated (or cooked) rom using USB, that way your SPL is protected by HSPL.
Put simply, you want to protect your SPL, and the best way to do that is to avoid flashing using sd card. With HSPL installed you CAN install any cooked rom, and you CAN install the official updates (1.66) with no effect to your SPL.
I should point out that if you do NOT have your original stock rom available you won't be able to uninstal HSPL in the event of needing to return the phone, but if you DO have it available, (or you dont mind the possible warranty void) then go for it.

If your phone lets you instal 1.66 via usb without HSPL then go right ahead, using USB will not affect your SPL. If you are provider locked, and there is no provider 1.66 available (example o2 uk havent released a 1.66) then you can instal HSPL and then use the HTC 1.66.

Flashing from 2.10.0 to 2.10.1 Help

Hello all
Looking for help for flashing from the stock spl 2.10.0 to 2.10.1 for some reason i cant get it to flash properly not even from SD card. it just stays stuck at loading... screen or it goes to the HTC bootloader screen but gets stuck at 0%. Any tips.
But if im understanding it correctly the 2.10.1 cant go on the stock spl?
Thanks for all help in advanced.
anybody have any idea when a new rom is going to be released from T-Mobile?
when you download a rom, if it comes as a .exe, your phone will see it as official, and it should load on your spl. (Assuming its a match, of course) if it comes as two files, ruu_signed.nbh and customruu.exe, then your phone sees it as a cooked rom, and you need hspl installed to load them. (you can of course then unload hspl again afterwards, by running the hspl prog again, and all should be well.)
(At least that is how it appears to me, there are several 'official' tmous roms ive seen, and some are one type, some are the other. I dont have a tmous, lol, so i cant test it propperly, but its how it seems, the exe roms will load into my kitchen, the customruu ones wont. )
just a late night theory.
well this rom is coming as a customRUU and a ruu signed.nbh.
So assuming the phone recognizes it as that way. does anybody have a 2.10.1 link for an official EXE rom not a cooked rom
try search this one.can't promise anything but it came as an exe.
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50 .07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe
I have that version installed im looking for 2.10.1 not the 2.10.0

WHY?
My God, I don't understand why so many people, like yourself are in "dire" need of such an insignificant "update" if you could even call it that... which you can't... because it DOES NOT add anything completely outrageous or amazing that would make going through all that trouble even worth it.
This is like the 15th thread that has been started stating literally, the exact same things.
Unbelievable.
Well sorry, just im the type of person that likes to be current in software even if it does nothing.
in that case you'll be keen to flash hspl1024 as soon as you can, so that you have the latest spl protection system currently available, with the added benefit that the x.x.1 rom update will install happily. then, if you don't want hspl there permanently, remove it again. just run the hspl prog again and choose 2.08.0000.
job done, 20 minutes

Did you trying downloading the ROM in the development section?
On a side note, I currently have ROM version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE installed. That is the same as the 2.10.1 stock ROM right? If I do flash a cooked ROM, I would like to be able to get back to this stock ROM as well.

Is it possible to change spl without messing up the currently installed ROM? In theory, that sounds like a solution though.
sure.installing and removing hspl has no effect on the current rom. no hard reset or anything.

try to use task29
nothing else needed, being your phone a branded one its IMEI code can't be associated with unbranded stock roms, you flashing the official vodafone rom fixed it, so as long as there isn't ay hspl showing anymore you're fine for warranty servicing.

Return everything back to stock

I have hspl 2.08 on my hd2. Is there a way to return everything back to stock. The spl the hd2 6.1 os and everything else back to the way the phone was out of the box. if there is please show me the way
install the original htc rom from within the sd card
check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
To restore you must first find the origonal/newest rom that goes with your phone.
This could be a network customised rom, best place to get it is from HTC themselfs. www.htc.com
Type in your phone SN and it will tell you what rom you should have.
Install the rom you downloaded, ok this wont change the spl back to the one it should have just yet.
Ok now download hspl2 and get it to restore back to spl1.42.0000.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
Once you have set back the spl reinstall the rom again, this will then set the spl to what it should with that rom.
When I got the phone it had the original splash screen, I tried installing the WWE version but when I did it it said invalid error. But I managed to get Tmob uk version working rom working on it.

Flashing official generic winmo 6.5 rom after installing HSPL?

Hey guys,
I've been reading about hd2 thread and I have tried searching for the debranding method.
From my understanding, the easiest method is to install HSPL which will enable any rom to be installed on the phone.
I have recently installed android on my phone and i need to reinstall the official rom for my hd2 now.
But instead of installing the Branded rom (in my case tmob UK rom) is it possible to install the generic older hd2 rom (so that I could reflash hsdpl should i need it in the future)?
As from my undestanding, installing the official rom will remove hspl and revert it back to whichever SPL the rom comes with? Or will doing this brick my phone?
Im a bit confused here.
Installing HSPL will allow the flashing of any ROM - if the ROM actually installs properly is a different matter. T-Mobile US HD2 can with HSPL flash the T-Mobile UK ROM, the fact that it will brick the phone is a tab unfortunate.
Why do you need to install the official ROM? If it is for returning to T-Mobile/HTC for repair under warranty, then you need to flash the 1.72 ROM. This will not change SPL back from the HSPL version. After flashing the ROM ou can run HSPL2 and select 1.66.0000. Alternatively you can use the SD card flashing method with that ROM and the SPL will also be changed back to official.
If the HD2 has a TMUK ROM on it, then it is very easy to run HSPL2 and select 2.08.HSPL, then you can select and flash the HTC 1.66WWE ROM (or most of the custom ROMs) and also the 2.15.50 RADIO. If you sent this back to TMUK then your warranty would be invalidated.
The only way to wipe HSPL off is to use the SD Card method or you try and flash a 3.14 ROM.
If you want some good reading about the basics of flashing then go * HERE *
The rule is, Read all about it and if you are sure you want to go ahead then read it all again.
