Hi guys,
after upgrading my Polaris from the default supplied rom 1.58.21.23 to the latest 1.64.08.21, I have no reception in my house and even difficult reception on the street.
I reversed back to version 1.58.21.23, but even then, still have issues with reception.
Does anybody have the same problem, or had the same problem and find a fix?

Do you have the same difficulty as I do:
I've followed the procedures as described in manuals everywhere:
- remove the memory card
- be happily synced
- start app
- device goes into the tricolor screen
- replug the usb as described on the polaris screen
- Flashing startssss.... goes... goes...
- HANGS at 99%
- Have to do recovery procedure as shown on screen.
- Flashing procedure starts second time
- hits 100%
- Now i've got a bad reception? On my previous polaris (replaced due to a phonespeaker defect) had 2 bars even after upgrading. My new Polaris doesn't have any bars after I upgraded (It did have 2 bars before upgrading)
Any expert here with information?

I'm having the same issue, by upgrading RADIO 1.58.21.23 to the latest 1.64.08.21 I got weak signal on GSM. Two bars on signal icon on the top near the BTS.
I'm using BEPE 0.67 ROM with WM 6.1, downgrading the RADIO doesn't help. I have searched thru this forum and didn't find any relevant solution

I was having the same problem with you. I have tried everything including flashing every rom/radio available and performing hard resets at every stage. Unfortunately, in the end I had to get my cruise replaced.
These are my original Cruise details, just to see if there is anything in common:

I read this several times in different threads now.
Fortunately myself doesn't suffer this issue and i have
also upgraded to 1.64.08.21. Lucky one.
Maybe one should start a poll about this
Would be nice to know the results.

I have this issue too after Hard-SPL and ASerg Rom, I have problems in o2 German network... very weak signalstrength 1/4 or mostly 0/4 (no network, denied).... i tried original radio 1.58.21.23 and 1.64.08.21 any1 know what could have happened? can a rom upgrade damage the radio hardware in any way? would be hard to believe... with german's BASE i have at least from 2/4 to 4/4 signal strength and sometimes I even get 3G... in my old o2 orbit (artemis) everything is at max strength

I have the same problem after flashing the 1.64.08.21 radio. Is there no solution?

I guess I am lucky, but with 1.64.08.21 and Bepe's 0.67 ROM I don't have any problems. There is no change at all. Signalstrength is the same, 3G is working fine.

Strange, I'm using also 1.64.08.21 and it's working like a charm... I do have another network provider (KPN, not t-mobile). Have 4 bars reception... Never had real problems with the reception too...
POLA100 (Touch cruise). Only my flash of radio succeeded in 1 time (not had to reboot before hitting the 100%). Also The Netherlands, so it doesn't seem to be country bounded.
Does it find your network? (Menu => settings => Phone (on personal tab)) then choose tab Network.
Current network: T-mobile
Network selection: Automatic
You can try Find Netwok over there, or Set network. Please also check the tab "Band", should be on Auto (both options).

My problem is when I manually check networks, I can find KPN NL and Orange NL everywhere, but not T-Mobile or Vodafone.. whilest on my wife's Vox I have 3 bars of network, on my N73 (nokia) I have 3-4 bars as well.

Could be, but then again, Rroet and I are having the same devices (pola100), are living in the same country, having the same radio version (the 1.64.08.21), the only difference is that he has another provider (which I can find if I search for networks)

In June I will switch network (to Vodafone)... I hope it all keeps working... Really strange that you can't find your network anymore. If I scan for networks I see them all (also Vodafone and T-Mobile).
(Think you've allready done this) but what will happen if you give your device a hard reset, or flash Windows Mobile again to your mobile... This because I'm having the same device, can find your network and having the same radio version.

I unfortunately got the same issue.
I got a XDA Orbit 2 from O2 Germany. Did the hardspl unlock(used the tool from olipro) after that i flashed the bepe 0.67 premium bepe rom.
Right now my orbit is disconnected most of the time, or has real bad signal strength. It would be very great if this can be fixed.

Got another orbit2 with everything in original delivery state. is there a possibility to "clone" the device back to original state?

I got very bad reception when update radio 1.64.08.21 . it frequenly lost connection when I got phone call , tried to downgrade and no result
I have vodafone simcard and now I must force to swich to 3g connection to make a phone call . when Iam on gsm I conldnot make any phone call at all , I am now just wait and see someone smart to show me how to correct this trouble
the phone work on my 3 sim but it is not as good as it was before

To make it complete: I have the O2 Orbit 2 (german) (POLA200) and I
have ugraded to the 1.64.08.21 without glitches (worked at first time,
did it through bootloader mode) and it is working with the same (good)
reception as it did before (phuuuh). Maybe it has something to do with
the flash problems at first time, which some users had. Could someone
sort it out? It's really goring, that even (successful) backflash to the stock
radio does not seem to fix the issue like the Poll indicates

What about the IMEI number btw?
I don't know if this is what happens by default, but my IMEI number is 2 digits longer in the software, then it is in the hardware:
example of my hardware IMEI: 123
in software it reads 12301

Interesting stuff... as Olioaglio said maybe there´s a relation to how it was flashed. If it was clean install or the process had to be repeated. Can anyone with this problem report back on this issue. I tried the new radio here in Spain but I went back to the stock radio as it seemed to have a better reception and battery life. I must admit I´m rather cautious about trying different radios as I fried my Hermes due to the radio and now it can´t connect at all.

I've had no problems/glitches during the flash process but I have the same reception problems as everyone else. Even using a friend's SIM with a different carrier made no difference in reception.

huge problem with my touch cruise 3g and net

first of all i am sorry to start a thread with a problem
i looked the forum w/o similar problem to this (please correct me if im wrong)
i plead to you developers to help me ,im stuck, depressed, and angry from my cruise
here it is :
i have touch cruise that i bought 1 month ago ( ONE MONTH, DAMN!!)
FIRST IT WORKED fine for few days , then the bigbang:
when i have (H) OR (3G) IN RADIO : no calls at all, its like phone is off, everytime i try to call ,the call end and then bleebed twice (end call tone)
cannot receive call either?? ( yes, HSPDA OR 3G is enabeld,, and band settings are set to auto)
when i disable hspda or 3g ( or set band to (gsm only) ,it works fine with G, E, or standard gsm
but not 3G ( NOW FEELING MORE DEPRESSED).
i cannot connect to internet : even in G,E,OR standard gsm
it says : connected, ---> connecting---> opening ,,,,then it get STUCK in 1 kb or 2 kb for ever-----( shows 1st line or two in google page but no more) then an error message ( there seem to be aproblem with your connection,,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH).
- I TRIED AUTOCONFIGURATION AND MANUAL TOO, NO USE ( not a settings or configurations problem)
- note : i tried my chip on my nokia 6680 and it is working like a charm ( internit, 3g, everything) ( not a chip or service problem)
- my friends ( have o2 life and touch dual ) have exactly the same settings and connecting from exactly the same place and service with no problems
- tried to move from area to area (even city ??????<--- desperate huh?)
with no use.
- THEN: I GOT EVIL : flashed new rom (bebe .67) - thanks btw- and newest radio for touch( cant remember the name ( 61 something, but was the best reviwed one)---> guess what?--> no useeeee
tried murata radio --------> you know what. ( by the way the reception strenght is exellant, thats not the problem)
flashed mobiz room ----> suicidal feelings ( yes ,no use)
flaSHED udk ----> nothing, natta
still stuck
returned to original radio---> its like cruise is telling me : GIVE UP DUDE, WHAT ARE U ,NUTS? IM NOT DIONG IT ,OK.
-before that i did dozens of hardreset, softreset ( almost every day or two)
pleeeeeaaase guys u r my only hope ,before i crash my cruise ( i mean it)
- i am ready to pay ( or donate)if necessary ( just tell me how, paypal not supported in my place , just give me another way and ill do it ,
i got sick of this

3G H network problem
I upgraded to radio 1.64.08.21 a month ago. Everything works fine for a month, till friday. Saturday my phone was off and I used gps for 40 min. Sunday start problems: I can use phone only in gsm band, in this way I can connect in edge or gprs and make calls, otherwise not call are allowed (two bips and the call is terminated) and no data connection! I have a dualsim adapeter, but with another sim card same problem! I try murata rom but no luck. Same issue! One more thing: saturday my battery was drained to zero, if it means something!
Nobody help us? Do We need to give our TC to htc assistence!?!?!

this is exactly the same problem
i hope someone will help us soon
and yes, i dont want any help from those htc support , all they are good at is repeating your words like parrots

I suggest to put the original ROM and RADIO and after that the original SPL ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1962153&postcount=79 ) and go with it to warranty... if you changed so many roms it means it is not a software problem i think.
Did you took out the battery and put it back in?

downgrade..
downgrade your radio rom to Murata (1.58.21.23)..
don't forget to backup your data, because Murata Radio does hardreset after downgrade..

3G H network problem
I tried Murata and original 1.58.21.23 rom, no luck! I read something related to the sim holder: It could be the cause of our nightmares! In fact I have a dual sim switching two sim, both 3G. The first day I buy polaris it works well switching from first sim to second and viceversa. The second day it doesn't works anymore. I can switch sim only after a soft reset for one times and after first switch only second sim works. Thinking an incopatible dual sim holder I buy another one where the manufacturer say good for the cruise: same result!!!
Now, after the network problem the sim switch without problem!?!? I think is an hardware issue...
P.S. I have changed only radio, Rom is the original italian!

Exist and persist! I called htc customer care to send them my tc... I hope it comes back quicly a maybe a new one!

they told u : its hardware problem ( in sim card base or something like that)
and they replaced ur device ?
and now its working perfectly ????

My tc now is sended back to assistence. Mine worked well more than 2 months without problem, then it died! Mystery of technology i guess.... I'll notice you when it's back!

The problem occurs (according to the many reports I see here and in other forums) also with other units (like the Kaiser/TyTN II).
I had the problem myself with a Kaiser and they final solution was a change of the mainboard (on which occasion I returned the unit for refund because the mainboards were out of stock and a delay of weeks was announced).
The symptoms you describe point exactly to this problem.

Hi! So did somebody solve the problem finaly? Who manage to get device back fexed and what was the exact problem? I got the same problem with my O2 - mostly same I can tell... Cause in my case just EDGE and GPRS does not work - and it conserns just one operator.... Other opererator's sim cards work properly.... Changing sim cards of my own operator one to another does'n help.
Can somebody confirm that changing simcard base will solve the problem?

Just want to add that problem with my O2 occured in several weeks of using and I didn't change any settings and flashing rom or radio befor - so I think this is hardware.....

I just sent my polaris to warranty ( cellecom)---> pronounced : silly - come!!
im waiting now
im calling daily , they even know my voice now
hope to get my polaris soon .
i will post the updates as soon as i get it

from other replies , i think the problem is more than just an sim base
it has something to do with mainboard ( very poor quality hardware )- i think some one said (belguim company)
your best choice is to use ur warranty ASAP. ---> dont forget to put back ur original rom and radio and lock device back

I finally gave up and sent mine back to htc
they said it was the main board. they said that they would send back to me 3 to 5 days after they receive it. it took over 2 weeks but when all said and done it works great now and they did say they had to replace the main board. i sent it in right after the murata was discovered. I really wish i could have tried it to see if it would have fixed the problem. but anyways I have a new board to break now hehehe

Big reception problem!

We've been having some reception problem on a T-Mobile Wing. It's currently running PDAVIET build 20764 and radio ver. 03.21.90. Tried several radio ROMS and none of them would give good signals. A lot of times it would show "No Service", sometimes we'll get good signal for a couple of minutes but immediately disappears afterwards. It's already HardSPL-ed and SIM unlocked. Anybody has similar experience?

i have the same problem as you do.... i just recently purchased another wing from craigslist... The first wing that i owned, worked great with no reception problems... I tried a different radio and took the antenna from my old wing, did not help what so ever.. Anyone have a clue of what the problem might be?

Will try to stop by at HTC service center on Monday. Anybody else has any clues?

No Network/Service on new HTC P3600

I have a new HTC P3600 that I upgrated to ROM version 1.23.405.2 from the HTC website.
It is not receiving any network, I am getting this symbol " ! " on the signal strength indication. I tried a different sim card with the same result, I tried turning the phone on and off, I tried the flight mode on and off, I did a soft reset and still nothing.
By the way this was the same before and after the ROM update. Also this area has full reception without ever experiencing problems, as my other Windows Mobile has full reception on it.
My Radio version is 1.38.00.11 I am thinking of upgrading the radio version, maybe this will help but I thought better to ask here first.

Wing won't find network

Keeps searching for network. Same SIM works fine with other phones.
I have flashed 2 different ROMS...
WM 6.1 and WM 6.5
Also updated Radio twice from 3.18.90 <=> 3.21.90 and back but no improvements.
This same phone was working fine couple of days back.. Is there a possibility that the antenna connection has come loose, is there any diagnostic tool to see whats happening with the radio.
There are some great Wing/Herald gurus here... I hope someone can help me out.

Ok.. I opened the sucker and cleaned up the contacts near antenna but still same thing..
Is it possible that radio is dead.. anyone know how to replace it or fix it or diagnose the problem.
