Guys I have an O2 Xda Atom (only) and I am using it as a Gprs(internet) modem through bluetooth. But Bluetooth drains the battery like hell.So I wanna connect Gprs through usb cable. As I have lost the original device driver Cd its a pain in the ass to get the drivers from the net.I tried google search and even went through dozen of forums.Even got the USBMDM.INF, (2) USBModem_Dialer.exe BUT STILL ITS NOT WORKING there is some problem in the driver. Windows detects my usb modem in dailer mode but the driver is not compatable with the device.I think its a wrong driver that i hav downloaded.....So Experts who have tried it Can U please help me provide the original drivers.......Thankz

Could please anyone post the drivers to use it as a gprs modem on my notebook. I've lost the T-Mobile CD.
I have done this with evey XDA i have used with O2, shouldnt be to hard to work out settings
Thanks, I've heard that the xda acts as a standard modem via the com port.
I neither have a serial cable nor a com port on my notebook. I need a USB solution and therefore most probably special drivers are necessary.
I do not have a Companion CD for my O2 Atom - can anyone help me where can I download all the drivers?
What kind of drive? you just need ActiveSync
I instaled activesync 4.1 but I can not get it connected with my Atom. I tried USB cable and bluetooth. It always comes up with message "Your device was not detected". Could anyone make a copy of Companion CD and upload it here on the ftp? Thank you.
Something is wrong wiht your USB (cable, port or device). Try to connect another device (pendrive for exemple). You just need Activesync.
U were rite, there was sometthing wrong with my USB hub, though other devices were working with it. Anyway myAtom is now connected thru ActiveSync. Thanx.
am a newbie i just bought a qtek s200 but i didnt find its CDrom included and everytime i connect it to my Pc it asks for the device driver....where can i download the drivers from ?
You should download ActiveSync from Microsoft.com, install it, then plug in your phone. Windows will then automatically install the necessary drivers.
Good luck.
I had the same problem with a normal USB cable.
I lost my cable and the sync does not work with a normal cable ??
Do you have a origional cable ?
it worked thank you
HTC USB Modem driver
ActiveSysnc software is useless, when you need to use your phone as GSM(GPRS) modem via USB connection! I couldn't find out "HTC USB Modem driver". Maybe because I didn't know, what I'm looking for, till i found it.
Anyway here's link http(Colon)//uloz(dot)to/3934398/gsm-usb-modem.zip*

I dont get a usb connection to my omnia 7
I tried it on 3 pcs 1 with 64bit 2 with 32bit and all usb ports
On all pcs I installed the usb driver
All pcs recognize my phone but the software gives this error:
[Error Description]:
Please make sure that your device is connected to your computer.
also make sure that right drivers are installed (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe)
Try to connect device to different USB port and also you can try to reboot PC.
Also you can try to exclude USB hubs.
[Info]: USBWorkDMLI_SAM.cpp (173)
anyone knows what i am doing wrong ?
regards chris
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as chris1005, with an Omnia 7.
I strictly followed the instructions to install Magldr:
1) Installing Usb Samsung Drivers
2) Put my phone in download mode
3) Connect it to my pc
4) Launch "DMLI for Samsung V1"
And when i reach the "Connect" step, i get the "173" error (view attachment).
I run on a Win7 x64, my phone is developer unlock.
Thanks for the answers
I had the same problem, but it was solved when I used a USB port on the back (connected to the motherboard) instead of one on the front (connected trough a hub).
Hi,
Thanks for your response, but i tried this method, it doesn't work too, whether the usb on motherboard or the usb hub.
:/.
I don't know where this is blocking.
Is there any other solution to flash a rom on an Omnia 7 than the DFT solution ?
Thanks.
I flashed back from 7.8 to 7.5 and had the same problem again, but ater I rebooted my computer, it worked.
Try to follow this: http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/tutorial_how_to_install_magldr_and_custom_roms_on_samsung_devices-02-08-12
