I have an O2 XDAII that I'm using in the US with T-Mobile... and now the sync/power port at the bottom is hosed... it won't connect to either power or for data sync unless you hold the cable at a specific angle. This is not a problem with the connector since I have 1 cradle and 2 difference sync cables and its broke with all.
This sucks
I bought the XDAII off Ebay from another user less than a year ago (I don't know when the original purchase from O2 was)... can anyone tell me if there is a warranty, is it transferable and where/who I call to see if I can get this fixed.
Otherwise, anyone have any clues about how to fix it myself and/or where to get parts.
yesterdaymy connection/charge/mini usb port broke whilst inserting the charger, by the looks of it its come straight off the board, a bit silly securing such a heavily used connection by just the solder but anyway, i have no idea who how i go about gettingn it repaired by qtek.
the manual has some silly link to some other company who have no help and no links,i just wana send it preferably to a ukrepair centreand get it back is it too much to ask lol. or do they make it this hard to get repairs done to keep there costs down?
any links to where i send my 9000 tooor contactnumbers would be great
Hi,
My O2 Exec (bought from ebay) damaged the usb connector. Got it repaired once 6 months ago. Now got damaged again, sent off to the same company for warranty repairs.
They say the damage is extensive this time especially to the system board (which will need replacing for £150.00 plus vat) and they r unable to fix it fully.
Now it will charge through the connector but will not Activesync via cable.
I have got around the AS problem via bluetooth, but I am unable to upgrade the rom this way. Is there any other option or is the changing of sys board the only one? Is there a cheaper option than £150.00 plus vat?
Please help.
Thanx

I downloaded that other service manual for the htc wizard 8125, but mine is the cingular one - that one posted is different ? my phone wont charge anymore, when I bought it, it didn't charge either one of the USB pins on the phone itself was bent, so I bent it back and it works now, but now it wont charge anymore and the battery is dead is there a way to replace just the chargin/pc connect usb portion of the phone? I wanted to look inside to see if I can solder a new connecter inside, thanks guys!
Hi all,
my Athena fell down while charging (kiddies.....) - now it seems to me that the connector is broken somehow. I can't chrage the device anymore and don't get contact to my PC anymore.
Warranty exchange isn't possible due to customized ROM. What can I do ?
Dieter
PPC Techs repaired my HTC Universal when the USB connector broke, give them a try:

Thanks galt,
but seems to me a little bit far away.....
Would prefere a source to buy spares and do it by myself or have a repair service in Germany or even Europe...
Dieter
Sorry, I forgot to check your location... HTC might have a repair center in Europe...

i don't know how it works with "The Phone warehouse" but here in the uk their parent company Carphone Warehouse have usually a flat fee for repairs, maybe ask The Phone Warehouse what they might charge ?
I think you can open and try to solder usb pin on your own.
its should not be that difficult task.
I have done this with my Motoming
Hello,
have already opened the device. Sadly it's not only a standard USB connector but a special HTC connector with about 10 connections...it's nearly impossible to re-solder
Dieter
But I'll ask phone warehouse in UK.

As a temp setup, why not get a docking base. they normally have a battery charging on them too. Keep you going until you find a repairer. they come up on ebay
