I have an O2 XDAII that I'm using in the US with T-Mobile... and now the sync/power port at the bottom is hosed... it won't connect to either power or for data sync unless you hold the cable at a specific angle. This is not a problem with the connector since I have 1 cradle and 2 difference sync cables and its broke with all.
This sucks
I bought the XDAII off Ebay from another user less than a year ago (I don't know when the original purchase from O2 was)... can anyone tell me if there is a warranty, is it transferable and where/who I call to see if I can get this fixed.
Otherwise, anyone have any clues about how to fix it myself and/or where to get parts.

My 15 month old I-mate JasJar just had the USB port break off inside the deivce. I'm in the US, does anyone know if HTC America or any service center in the US will service this device?
Has anyone in the US had to get one of these devices serviced? Any tips (contact info, etc.)?

How about this: http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~unit~O2_XDA_Exec-500~area~repairs.htm
Just ordered their service, thanks! I also ordered the headphone jack repair, it has failed a couple of times...
I downloaded that other service manual for the htc wizard 8125, but mine is the cingular one - that one posted is different ? my phone wont charge anymore, when I bought it, it didn't charge either one of the USB pins on the phone itself was bent, so I bent it back and it works now, but now it wont charge anymore and the battery is dead is there a way to replace just the chargin/pc connect usb portion of the phone? I wanted to look inside to see if I can solder a new connecter inside, thanks guys!
So... I bought an 8525 off e-bay. I've been working with if for a couple months now and it has been pretty stable. Upgraded to the latest ROM. SID unlocked it. All in all, I've been pretty happy with it.
However, looks like the USB port has developed a bit of a break from the motherboard. Very spotty connection to any USB cable; including the power adapter.
On my AT&T account, I am listed as having a Blackjack. I switched on MyCingular to show a 8525. BUt I doubt that changes anything on the back end.
So my question... Will Cingular do a replacement on this since I bought it used? If not, is there a way to get HTC to do a repair? Any insight would be helpful before I start working my way through the phone support maze.

Hi,
My mini-B usb female connector (for charging and usb connectivity etc) is broken...
I need to find a replacement,
but I don't know what model it's exactly..
I don't what to end up ordering something I can't use :]
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
What is the Make/Model of your phone. Either you can send it to the original manufacturer/vendor if still under warranty or you can order from ebay.First know the maker and model No # of your phone like T-mobile,cingular,i-mate or At&tt etc and model like T-mobile MDA,vario, etc etc,ok
Cheers !
I have mine from www.techcenter.fr
It's an HTC Wizard, Wiza200. (Qtek in fact)

My USB connector is broken as well. Have you replaced one yourself? I want to know how hard it would be to do, because I'm thinking of ordering the part and attempting it.
what about ppc techs. they repair and sell that part.
I've done it a bunch of times...it definitely takes a few trys before u get it right...if ur familiar w/ soldering then it should be fairly easy, but if not...it might be worth paying some one to do it for u...if the pads are ripped from the motherboard then they have to be retraced...that is even harder...then it is worth paying to have it fixed for sure...otherwise, there is always the upgrade
upgrade? i wish. bought mine off the streets. thanks

Good luck anyway!
Broken Mini USB
I just had this same problem with my Cruise. It is only 4 months old and I sent to HTC for warranty and they wanted to charge 400 to replace the motherboard and usb plug. They claimed it was abused. They need their heads examined.
HTC has bad customer service and warranty.
Hi Brunner, you might want to try http://www.mobilephonerepairs.co.uk/home.asp . They are based in London, UK and sending to/from Germany was no problem for me. Just mail to [email protected], explain your issue and ask for a repair price quote.
So far I have only bought a replacement LCD from them and not used their repair service - but will do so next week. Anyway, they were friendly and supportive, and the LCD arrived in good condition and well packaged. Overall a very good impression.
i have some expirience with HTC repair, and can say that the most problems in HTC are in main board - very unstable connections with chips and pcb.
try to tense unit left and right side while usb is connected.
one more - switch off unit (take off battery and pull in) and connect adapter - i am sure in this mode charging will go - this is separate chip doing this automaticly ,but when processor running can sw it off. Stay 1-2 hours and battery will go full.
thank you for your replies... I'll try to contatct the london adress (big thank to doctah).
to romensat: thank also for your , but it is so, that I am not able to connect the usb cable at all, because the little plastic peace into the connector is broken out an some pins are damaged.
regards
brunner
just curious: how did this end up?
