Direct 3D drivers: Any progress? - Touch Cruise ROM Development

Hello! I've flashed the brand new udK's Syrius R0 and it seems that it goes very smooth when it comes to the video playback, and also to Touch FLO 2D.
But...
I have tried to run some Direct 3D samples (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=105436&d=1218460506) and they run really really slow. However, they work well and they update the screen for themselves.
I also confirmed the GUI is going as always, painting icons as slow as hell. So... are those drivers really complete? or only a tricky way to improve SOME applications?
What about 2D emulators?
What do you think?
Thanks

Couldn't see any display performance progress in navigation softwares as well.
But Syrius R0 seriously rocks, even though it's a memory hog.

gxmark udK Syrius R0 ROM - 1500 pts
In syntetic benchmarks there are at least little improvment

I don't thnik there is any improvement in Syrius R0 concerning the 3d driver. In fact, some of my games, runs slower than before (Bust'em, worms, age of empires). Same for TomTom, i can't see any improvement..
I love udk's syrius R0 rom, but we've still gotta wait for real 3d drivers..!

Someone posted that any wm6.1 rom+omnio drivers+manila 2d work just as fast, I've just put the manilla cab on the udk r8 and reinstalled my previous backup and can confirm that it works just as fast with none of the problems that I can see.
EDIT: There are some known bugs with the manilla cab, weather images, music not found etc. but nothing I cant live without.

Manila 3D about to work on BA?

Tried the latest cab from here:
Update 11: Direct from Chainfire:
=========================
TF3D QVGA - Release #2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430718
Prior to installing the cab, I unzipped the OpenGL ES software drivers from here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=121298&d=1223892257
...to the \WINDOWS directory.
The results: TF3D-QVGA installed in probably 10 minutes. Very slow progress at the beginning, but when the bar hit the 50% mark, installation was completed just after one or two more minutes. Startup time of TF3D is quite good, too. Takes about a minute to fire up. The drawbacks: The software 3D driver seems broken on the BA. No textures, but all white surfaces. One can see, though, that the shapes are rendered correctly. The clock on the Home tab flips correctly, messages on the Mail tabs fly in and out like they should etc. Unfortunately rendering is a tad slow, too. Not very smooth, yet no stills either. One can see the animations, but even if the textures were okay, it would be too slow to really enjoy.
Does anyone have an idea where to find suitable OpenGL ES software drivers for the BA?
Cheers.
which rom are you using ?
on my rom installing takes 30min and startup after soft resett takes 30 min, too.
i also get the white textures.
The "old" Helmi WM6 with German language files, which is really a fantastic ROM (always came back to it). Btw, when I tried TF3D, I already had loaded all kinds of stuff on my device (only about 15MB of internal memory free), so I'm really not talking about a virgin install, either.
BA was never designed for 3D graphic the first place, if you guys really like Manilla interface, I strongly suggest try out the Manilla 2D. just an idea.

I know, I know. M2D is great, but I miss the opportunity to view multiple appointments on the home tab.

GfxBoost

Has anybody tried running the new GfxBoost program on their Touch Cruises?
I was wondering if there was an increase in performance and also if it impacted the battery life of the phone.
I tried version 1.0 but my Cruise freezes...
Now im using Neos2007SVG drivers...
I tried version 1.0 service work well but camera no work

Do you notice any speed improvement? 3D or 2D?
version 1.1 works on my polaris with wm6.5
installs ok, SR, process & service works, camera works
now i use MS3 + M2D together and its like it was, after SR graphics works slow then i turn screen off & on and it works fast as it was but i see no improvements,
windows wm6.5 default today plugin works not very smooth as it was,
file explorers (resco and windows explorer) scrolls same speed as it was,
3d games (virtual pool & 3d mines) works same as it was,
igo8 same as it was
so....it works but doesnt improve
edit:
i tried now driver from HERE and its definitely improving file explorer scroll

Really? Did you find any other application that has also benefits from them? Like games or graphic-intensive apps?

i dont watch movies so i cant compare...and now i remembered i played PS1 games on my polaris and all worked slow that would be good comparison but i deleted them...

which touchflo

I was looking and there are 4 touch flo versions available for the touch pro. The stock version, the hd tf3d port, the tf3d 2 port, and the tf2d port. Has anyone compared these versions to see which one was smoother and quicker on the touch pro/rafael?
tf2d > rhodium > hd > stock.
Manilla 2D Is always going to be smoother than Manilla 3D since it uses less GPU resources. If you can run Manilla 3D I would go for it if i was you its a nicer experience.
I can run the 3d but I don't know whether to use the stock, the, hd port or the tf3d 2 port. According to kraize the tf3d 2 would be better than the others. I guess it is time to read through that long thread and see what I need to install to get it working good on my sprint touch pro.
Has anyone tried it on the Mogul (6800/Titan) yet by chance?
You might be able to run 2d on a Titan. It runs on my wife's Vogue perfectly and probably is about as stable as 3d on My Pro. Give it a try and if it does not work uninstall it. However the Titan has about half as much memory as the Vogue and had some problems with the Cube so you may be sol.
I ran 2D on my Titan and found that it was horrendously slow. Don't even try running 3D on it. But now that I have the Pro (too lazy to change my sig), it rocks =D

Enhanced D3D Driver

Here is an Enhanced D3D Driver for our Touch Pro2. Before you install driver run the D3DDemo file from your phone. Extract D3DMDemo.exe and copy it anywhere on your phone (Storage Card is good). Run it and see how slow it runs with the default D3D Driver. Then install At0mAng Enhanced D3D Driver.cab, restart and run the D3DMDemo again and see the difference
Enjoy!
Just to make things clear. I did not develop the driver, it was from the Samsung Omnia and the libgles_CL.dll comes from NuShrike. I have been using it since my TyTN II days, gave it a shot on the Rhodium and it worked. I did not see it in this forum so I cabbed it up (was OEM in my kitchen) and posted it.
The cab file contains two dlls both from the D3DM driver and the correct registry settings for d3dm_ati.dll.
To learn more about this driver and to try newer releases please see this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496528
There have been a few reports that the drivers from above thread break a couple of things like the G-Sensor with Opera so I am posting back the original file I had up. Strange since I do not have that problem with the latest drivers from the above thread.
It's up to you to decide which drivers you would like to use.
Rocks!
TF3D is realy faster.

Cool...glad it is working on other devices.
Been using this driver since the TyTN II then to Raphael and now on to Rhodium Not sure if it is a good or bad thing that the same driver works on the last 3 devices I have...
Wow! It really worked and the M3D really is faster!
Cheers mate!

On the Telus (MSM7600) it went from 0.85 ish FPS to a smooth test. Very dramatic change
Same for me here too
is it really faster?
does it mean, that the video-playback is also better?
TF3D is using OpenGL ES or Direct3D? If it's written for OpenGL ES the new drivers should not have any impact over it. It's only my opinion.
Any ideas?
Just to let you know I also went from 0.75 FPS to about 25 FPS.
Crazy change, just don't notice much difference in TF3D.
what's the difference between this and neo's beta 3d driver pack?

Same opinion. But I cannot see fps in the demo after installing the new driver.
The increase in fps is recognizible high in the demo. The object first is absolutely stuck without the driver. With the driver installed it runs fluidly.
in this demo I have a big boost with this driver !!
Whith games work with that driver? My old quake dont work on my TP2
Will this work on MSM 7201 chipset as well? I don't want to make hardreset again if something will going wrong on my TP1. Thanks.
Edit>
Nevermind,I tried it. Unfortunately no visible change happens on Raphael.
No Change
It made no difference on my Touch Pro 1
I installed it on Touch Pro2 and test runs a lot faster. And also TouchFLO 3D runs more smoothly. I don't know why, but it's really faster. I think TF3D2 uses OpenGL-ES and Direct3D driver can't change it's performance.

Strange I thought it should so I have been using it with my TP1. I never did try the demo though to see if it actually worked.
great great work At0mAng
i have tested in my HD and workly very very well
Difference in the Demo is quite noticeable.

will this driver accelerate need for speed undercover or xtrakt as well?
Seems to work awsome. Thanks.

Twitter tab in Manila 2.1?

Manila 2.1 running on WM 6.1 is currently, indisputably (much) faster than 2.5 on WM 6.5. For intensive use, the difference is enormous to me and certainly enough to stick to the 2.1/6.1 combo until the great cooks start working their magic and optimizing everything.
That aside, after having used Dutty's Leo R5 for a few days, with numerous problems, I really miss the beautifully implemented, simple Twitter tab. I'm now running Dutty's WM6.1 v4.3 Final, which is blazingly fast in comparison but, naturally, doesn't have the fancy new Twitter functionality. Is there any way at all to get this into Manila 2.1? If there's anything I can do to help, I'm game. I've just tasted the feature and can't let go of it!
