Tony Hawk accelerated running full speed at Xperia X1

I have just managed to work THPS2 accelerated working at full speed on our's X1 So what you need to do?
1. Get Software version of THPS2
2. Get libgles_cl.dll file from this kaiser theard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415523 and copy it into \Windows directory (unpacked of course)
3. Open directory where you have installed THPS2 and delete orginall file libgles_cl.dll from this directory
4. Edit file TH2_OPT.CFG :
- set RESOLUTION=640x480
- set Quality=High
Save file and close.
5. Run THPS2.exe or THPS2 shortcut in Games and enjoy!!

ok i will give it a try i played it few years ago

Very nice, just tested it out, works very smoothly, full screen, full speed and the screen rotates to the correct orientation once the HW keyboard is opened.
Using the same file and method you can get Quake mobile to start but it crashes once it starts to load the game files. Any Ideas?

Yes, I have also managed to run Quake III Arena accelerated version (I have problems with texturing yet, but it maybe problem of config file), and software version with more fps (from 7-8 to 14-15). Also DoomGLES is working now but it is not visable ok on the screen (the screen is moved but I have tested only Doom 1 for now).

where to get software version??

Though, is this really full speed? Is the speed the same on the x51v, how do the gpus compare? And is it the gpu or the cpu slowing it down, could maybe overclocking the cpu give me a speed boost? Anyway it's cool you can map the game to the keyboard aswell. Lovely PC ports
By the way, how about the accelerated version of Stuntcar Extreme, does it work too?

In others words, it's a wrapper driver to forward calls to our X1's native API to enable hardware accelation on some games.
BTW, I found X1 is even smoother than my x51v in the game play.

That's interesting as I did the GLES benchmark and ended up with measly 880 points in WVGA and around 990 in VGA while the x51v supposedly gets around 1200. I've even seen someone getting 1290 with a diamond, is such low score normal for the X1 or is there a way to improve it?

I've tried DoomGLES but all I get is a white and then black screen. D=

I don't have THPS2 software either. I was able to get the accelerated version, but it does not work well as there are no textures in the skate parks. I think there is a software AND hardware version of THPS2, and even when I set the hardware version to use software rendering, it will not load the level.
Would be great to get a test version of THPS2 software/unaccelerated, but alas, WAREZ ARE NOT ALLOWED!
I'm also quite interested in Dutty's new D3D drivers. I don't suppose there is a chance that they will wreck my X1, as it looks like you can uninstall them easily. Also, when deleting a file from \Windows, if that file was in ROM, it should reappear correct? (i.e. I delete the Dutty files that were copied to \Windows, and the originals should take their place)

ive not seen any downsides to these drivers yet.
yes if you "overwrite" a file in rom ghe original remains, so as long as you can delete the replacement then the system will go back to using the original

Is it possible to adjust the left/right/up/down function to the optical joystick instead of pressing the buttons?

iContact -- iPhone style contact menu

I ve been using it for sometime now..but it doesnt scroll as smoothly as that of the iphone.
can someone tell me why is X1 not as fast as iPhone.
even without iContact i noticed..the Scrolling on it is not as smooth as that in iPhone.
is there a tweak for that?

It's mostly WinMo's fault that it aint that smooth, the drivers aswell. I wouldnt trade my WinMo phone for anything, I like the ability to run several programs at once
The reason the iPhone can do things so smooth, is mostly because they limit it to run 1 program at the time, so whatever program is running, is actually getting the entire phones dedication
But still, I don't need the smoothness of the iPhone, I just look at the iPhone, and I see: A phone that has old hardware, simple layout and is limited to whatever Apple wants.

There are several vga skins which are working quite nicely. I am using
grzenio_vga
You have to go to burt´s web site and download those vga skins.
For installation you have to use the latest official built 6.4.5, install it, than you can overwrite the files with the latest 7.0.1 beta version.
Install it to itnernal memory.
If you want to use iDialer as well from subro you have to check the name of your program folder. The presetting is "program" (within iConfig) if you have a german system like me you have to change it in iConfig into "Programme".

I installed it on my QVGA HTC Touch WM 6.1 (Build 21014) on the SD Card and
It Loads without any lag, Fairly fast. Renders and loads pages Pretty well too. No Major issues so far. Graphics and UI look pretty good. I still have to load the Widget Manager and try it out, never was a big fan of these. I will attempt to post some screen shots, but I am at work and may not be able to.

KNOWN BETA ISSUES:
Browser
Opera Turbo in Opera Mobile is still a preview-feature;
Downloads don't work while Opera Turbo is enabled.
Some settings (such as toggle on/off images) do not apply when Opera Turbo is enabled.
On older WM 5.0 Devices with 480x800 resolution, switching between portrait and landscape may cause display errors. This is due to lack of support for this resolution in early versions of Microsoft's driver.
Some input method editors are known not to work well with Opera because they do not comply with Microsoft's SIP and/or IME standard. When such an editor is detected by Opera, Opera will use a known (default) input method instead. An exception is EzInput v1.5, where the phone keypad and compact QUERTY, ABC mode doesn't work, but the rest of the modes work fine. We recommend upgrading to EzInput v2.0 to avoid this.
Only support for FlashLite 3.x. No Flash plugin included.
Widget manager add-on
The Widget manager is an add-on to the browser, so the browser must be installed in order for the widget manager to work.
We recommend disabling Opera Turbo in the browser when using the widget manager.
Rotating widgets does not work properly. Portrait mode should be used when running widgets.
Widgets + Plugins (Flash & Gears) don't work.
Clicking internal links in a widget will launch the browser.
Twitter widget might have login problems on first run. If this happens, just close the Twitter widget (X) and open it again.

I just tried it on my qvga device and its amazing. NO lag. It runs. Nothing seems messed up. Scrolling is EXTREMELY smooth, it's as smooth as the omnia versions but doesn't suffer with the auto-full screen bug and it doesnt lock up while loading as well.
Opera turbo works, though its disabled by default.
So far, i absolutely LOVE it!

I have to agree with zeuzinn, So far it's great on my QVGA Touch. The Link I provided is the only one I found.

This is awesome. Was just wondering about this and was about to go to sleep. Then I hit the New Posts Button. Installing on my Topaz right now.

I gotta say, its MUCH faster than opera 9.5 even with opera turbo disabled, thanks to the new rendering engine.

umm i think it has both versions in there how ever you can try this one ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/winmobile/ when i look in the folder i saw a VGA sub folder in there so idk.

Enhanced D3D Driver

Here is an Enhanced D3D Driver for our Touch Pro2. Before you install driver run the D3DDemo file from your phone. Extract D3DMDemo.exe and copy it anywhere on your phone (Storage Card is good). Run it and see how slow it runs with the default D3D Driver. Then install At0mAng Enhanced D3D Driver.cab, restart and run the D3DMDemo again and see the difference

Just to make things clear. I did not develop the driver, it was from the Samsung Omnia and the libgles_CL.dll comes from NuShrike. I have been using it since my TyTN II days, gave it a shot on the Rhodium and it worked. I did not see it in this forum so I cabbed it up (was OEM in my kitchen) and posted it.
The cab file contains two dlls both from the D3DM driver and the correct registry settings for d3dm_ati.dll.

There have been a few reports that the drivers from above thread break a couple of things like the G-Sensor with Opera so I am posting back the original file I had up. Strange since I do not have that problem with the latest drivers from the above thread.
It's up to you to decide which drivers you would like to use.

Cool...glad it is working on other devices.
Been using this driver since the TyTN II then to Raphael and now on to Rhodium Not sure if it is a good or bad thing that the same driver works on the last 3 devices I have...

On the Telus (MSM7600) it went from 0.85 ish FPS to a smooth test. Very dramatic change

TF3D is using OpenGL ES or Direct3D? If it's written for OpenGL ES the new drivers should not have any impact over it. It's only my opinion.
Any ideas?

Just to let you know I also went from 0.75 FPS to about 25 FPS.
Crazy change, just don't notice much difference in TF3D.

Same opinion. But I cannot see fps in the demo after installing the new driver.
The increase in fps is recognizible high in the demo. The object first is absolutely stuck without the driver. With the driver installed it runs fluidly.

in this demo I have a big boost with this driver !!
Whith games work with that driver? My old quake dont work on my TP2

Will this work on MSM 7201 chipset as well? I don't want to make hardreset again if something will going wrong on my TP1. Thanks.

No Change
It made no difference on my Touch Pro 1

I installed it on Touch Pro2 and test runs a lot faster. And also TouchFLO 3D runs more smoothly. I don't know why, but it's really faster. I think TF3D2 uses OpenGL-ES and Direct3D driver can't change it's performance.

Strange I thought it should so I have been using it with my TP1. I never did try the demo though to see if it actually worked.

Your Current/Favorite HD2 Apps

because we all have different needs for applications and programs on our phones, i was curious to see what everyone has installed and uses most often on your HD2. i myself haven't done much installing, but what i DO have proves to be extremely useful. here's my list and what each program does:
palringo - multi protocol IM program, i had this when i had an HD1...love it
facebook 1.1.0.17 - a deent update to the og app, use this over touch.facebook.com now...
shazam - recognizes nearly any song playing when allowing your phone to 'listen'.
bsb tweaks - many useful tweaks
total commander - use it for registry things and as a better file explorer
gui:
co0kie's home tab - love the 4x4 quick links and the amount you can have
mini hd2 lock screen - haven't tried s2u2 yet, but this is simple and clean
that's about all i have for now. interested to see what other apps, games, and gui tweaks everyone else has. screenshots would be nice, too, if you have them.

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=634951 to get finger friendly TCPMP, and after installing it go to options and change setting under video to GDI and under orientation change it to left handed. Tap screen for full screen landscape.

The #3 is for CDMA only.
I am looking for the thread with the cab that I used because I don't think it was the one you referred to. The certs are in the cab that I have.
