I have Telus P4000, and recently a few buttons stopped working. The following buttons dont work Widnows key/Ok Button/Soft Left/Soft Right/Green Phone/Red Phone/ Mail Button/ Internet Button on the top. On the Right Side the Camera and COMM manger button do not work. On the left side the Ok button and Voice Command button do not work.
Whats weird is that i can go into the boot loader menu by holding Power + Camera + reset... And i can also do a hard reset by doing Power + soft left+soft right + reset... So The Camera + soft left + soft right must work ? So could this be a software problem? i have done a Hard reset, but they dont work still? Any Help would be appreciated thanks
check this first post in this thread. There is a cab file that fixes this.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=31852&highlight=Titan+Kitchen
I have the same problem with my Mogul, but I have yet to find a solution that works, and that cab didn't do anything unfortunately (Unless I did something wrong, you just have to install it right?). My buttons also work for hard reseting the device.
Unfortunately that PPCGeeks page only changes the registry settings for the same buttons as the settings|buttons program. It doesn't change the phone buttons or the windows or ok buttons.
Did you flash a new ROM or is this a stock phone?
I bought my mogul used off craigslist, and the buttons worked for a few days after I bought it, then they stopped working. Since then I have installed the new offical sprint rom and thats it.

So they stopped working before the Sprint ROM update? That doesn't sound good. Since you don't have a warranty you could follow the path of flashing to DCD ROM since you have probably the latest Radio ROM already and see if the button come back.
The original poster described exactly what is happening to me. I haven't tried the solution linked above because I'm at work. Has anyone tried that and had it work?

Hello,
I just uninstalled the Arabic support package (Pocket Arabizer Suite v2). Afterwards, I am not able to use my wing to make calls. I even tried to search for network and couldn't find any. I was thinking if I reinstall the Arabic package might help. Unfortunately, ActiveSync is not working no more as well. Also, I tried hard reset (by holding the 2 soft keys along with soft rest) but it wont reset.
Anyone got a clue ?
When you hard reset did you keep holding down the softkeys after you pressed the soft rest button? When done correctly a prompt to soft reset should come up after about 5 seconds
yes, I did
no one got a clue?
Go into bootloader mode and run the TMO RUU.
I was tryin to avoid that. But, I just done it
Thanks
I just got a Prophet which was flashed to a WM6.1 ROM. I did a hard reset but now I get to the start screen where I am supposed to unlock it, but the touchscreen doesn't seem to work. I press the Left soft button to do the unlock process, but when I tap the unlock button that comes up nothing happens, as if the touchscreen is not working.
Touchscreen is confirmed to be alive before the hardreset, any ideas what happened? I don't even know why it's locked on startup usually you do the configuration stuff after a hard reset (Must be the ROM that's on it)
I am thinking I will have to flash a new ROM but if there is a way to fix it without reflashing that would be better.
Nevermind guys, I don't know what went wrong but a quick re-flash fixed it.
Hello all im kinda a newb here so please bear with me, i have been curious bout this t=kinda stuff for awhile and i tried tylers wing pack and i followed everything and now im stuck at the tmobile screen and cant do a thing what did i do wrong please help me out

well congratz ur phone is working lol
question
yup yup, now im running touch-it 2.3 at 247 which is nice... btw whats the difference between touch-it and open touch?
A lot. The main difference is that touch-it hasn't been updated in forever. Open Touch has a new version out already, 7.7. Open Touch also has more support since it was recently released.
ahhh ok cool thanks how would i go about switching over to open touch? i have read numerous post about doing a hard spl is that the only way to do so?
yep of google up flash center i have it on my home comp right now n i dont remember which thread i got it from but it will be there
Hi,
For the last month I noticed that Left softkey (Phone softkey) is freezing.. Now this is becoming more often. The only solution I found is when it freezes to press windows start button at the top left corner and then the phone is working normaly again. At the moment I press left softkey and it freezes, I see that background for that button drops in (the animation works). Then, to un-freeze it, I press verry gently with stylus windows start button.. The rom upgrade didnt work, so I dont know if this is hardware or software bug ???
Any idea ??

It sounds like a firmware issue, especially since you had attempted to upgrade the ROM version and failed to do so. Have you tried performing a hard reset? This will restore the phone back to default factory settings and should resolve this problem.
I would strongly advise you to first backup your data (Contacts, Emails, SMS, etc) using PIMBackup.
To perform a hard reset, please try the following:
(1) With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
(2) Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
(3) Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset.
Regards.
p.s. if you would like some detailed information on how to unlock your phone to upgrade to another ROM version, such as a custom ROM, then please carefully read the following guide.

Hi again,
Thanks for your replay. I succeded with ROM upgrade. The problem appeared while I was using previous ROM version (some clean WWE) and then I flashed to custom ROM few days ago thinking that I had a lot of programes instaled on previos ROM and if I install a clean ROM problem will dissapear.. Now I see I was wrong.. I dont realy get it.
I was following the guide from your post while I was upgrading the ROM I have now. And when I did, I did hard reset..
Good thing is that I found the temporary solution how to unbug it (by pressing start button) otherwise I would be verry pissed of as I dont have warranty
Did enyone experienced same problem ?

Personally, I haven't ever experienced this problem, but it's good to know all is well now
Best Regards.
The issue is happening to me too.. not sure why..
Sorry for the long description but I think it is better to explain the whole story:
A few days ago I decided to HSPL my HD2 and installed Miri rom. All is working well until today when I need to hard reset the phone. Pressing the two volume keys just did not hard reset it, it just go straight to boot up as normal. The only way to hard reset is to use the Clear Storage.
I thought something has gone wrong so decided to go back to stock rom. So I put the stock Telstra Rom onto the SD card and renaming it to "leoimg.nbh". Then press down volume key and power. It started to show "Loading" but then went back to the boot loader screen. I tried many times and it didn't work. Eventually it worked and succesfully restored to stock rom with SPL 1.42.0000.
I tried the hard reset using volume keys and it is still not working. I then tried to use active sync to install the original stock rom from computer but that failed. (I noticed it did not recognize the version installed on the phone).
I then tried HardSPL again and although it says successful, the boot loader version keeps saying 1.42.0000.
Now I am stuck with the stock rom and cannot flash anything onto it, including stock rom. I suspect this is a hardware problem? Anyone has any suggestion.
I think you messed up with the SD card. I'll say it loud: DON'T EVER AGAIN FLASH FROM THE SD CARD. Now, you may try the HSPL 2, according to the base of your stock rom. For further information, go there. And don't forget: don't ever again... you already know.
Problem is HSPL2 does not work with Telstra phone...
Ok. It was my error. I tried to flash the HD rom instead of the HD2 rom!
Luckily nothing is broken! I now successfully restored to stock rom with SPL1.42 and is able to install HSPL. I can now start flashing Yeepee!!
However, There is still the problem with the hard reset where I can't do it with the volume keys????

Well.. If the device is up and running there is an "Wipe device" Option under "settings" --> "All settings". It is pretty much the same
I knew there is a "Clear Storage" option but I am just concern that it is a hardware problem. I have tried both stock and custom ROMS, with and without HSPL and it is still not working??

i find it is dificult to press both vol up and down with the back cover on. Try it with cover off, there is more give in the buttons. Plus be sure and press the right spot, you can sort of feel the button going down. Do them individually, dont just put both fingers on and press (well, till you get better at it )

You're absolutely right! I tried as you suggested and it worked. I guess the buttons were never properly pressed before. Many thanks. Good to know my phone is still "normal".
Got to love xda!
