Hello,
I know there are some threads talking about this already however they're very confusing to me and to a lot of people.
I have Total Commander installed and I would like to know exactly how to make a shortcut for skype and tell m it to overclock to 240Mhz when skype opens.
I have tried some methods but never get it working.
Could someone really give a detailled step by step on how to do this please.
Thank you
Ok I will try to make this easy
1. place omapclock.exe in device \program files\
2. use template provided which is a lnk file
3. change the lnk name to what ever suits I.e. skype omap
4. With total commander or gsfinder etc change properties\shortcut just replace * by name of program
N.B. (The lnk file is placed in windows\start menu\programs where there are lnk (link) files to all your other programs.
Rename the file using a file explorer to Say 'Skype omap.lnk' and place it in above folder
With the file explorer (you need total commander or gsfinder or resco etc...) you can change properties of lnk file file\properties\shortcut and edit the location.)
and that's it should work. all of syntax is correct cuz this is what I use
Hey,
Thank you so much for your prompt response ! It's working perfectly !!!
Great help !
Nice and easy to follow !!!
Thank you again !
I don't get it...this is a zip file? Do you have to open it on the PDA or what?
yes its a zip file open on your pda - cant post lnk file needed to be zipped
Guys, great site, especially now since I've got my vario II .
I could not find anything on site about it. I installed different media player on Vario II, I didn't like so deleted it later. Now when I click on *.mp3 file it says "there is no application associated with *.mp3", but if I load this file from Windows Media player, then it plays. Does anyone know how I can change to the way it was before. Hard reset does not help... strange, but when I do hard reset it does not remove all the programms that I installed on Vario II. Thanks.
Install Total Commander on your device. Then, open it up and find an MP3 file in the (total commander) explorer window... Shift-tap, and hit Properties. Go to the Associate tab, and if the filetype is associated correctly, it should read .mp3 -> MP3File. If you hit the Associate button underneath, you can open up the advanced parameters for associating the file.
The correct settings (well, the default settings anyway) are:
Command:
wmplayer.exe
Parameter:
"%1"
Icon file:
wmplayer.exe
Index:
-2002
You can also scroll through the list of icons contained in the .exe once you choose the file. You can also hit the [>>] buttons next to the Command and Icon file boxes to choose the application file for the Command and Icon file respectively... You might think "wtf?" but as soon as you follow the steps above in Total Commander, you'll understand what I'm on about.
Christopherwoods, many thanks for this.
I downloaded Total commander 2.0, but this version does not have Associate function. Could any one advise the version that has it or possible help with the link where it can be taken.
Thanks.
Just an update on the issue. If someone has similar problem Total Commander 2.5 has the Associate Tab to change atributes of files. So *.mp3 files are recognised correctly now.
I don't mean to ask silly questions, but I can't seem to manage a simple installation. I download the "WM VI Black Cyberon Voice Dial" cab and would like to install it, but have no idea where to begin!!! Could someone please help me with some step-by-steps? I would like to try this out instead of the MS Voice Commander. I also downloaded the "WM VI Black Cyberon Voice Commander" just in case, and would love to find out what works best on my Hermes. I would appreciate any help that may come my way.
:-D
save it on your storage card and run it from the file explorer on the phone.....?
What to run . . .
Do I "execute" the _setup.xml file? Will that copy everything needed to everyplace required?
Execute the xml file? What have you done to the file already?
Copy the complete cab file (don't try and extract anything) onto your phone. Then (through file explorer) double click or run the cab. The XML file etc should all be within the cab and you should not even need to know about it. The cab should run on your phone as it is.
Hi All
I'm sure someone will be able to tell me what I am doing wrong
I have loaded Mortscript on to my E650 and have copied a script from this site and saved it as wireless.mscr
When I run the file from Windows explorer - it opens the file in Word on my E650 and does nothing.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Uninstall Mortscript and then reinstall it. I guess it's a matter of file association in the registry.
mortscript
Thanks....have tried that and it still does not work.
Any other ideas?
You must run once the mortscript's executable to create the associations with the mscr files.

yep, ran the yellow file that was located in the \program files\mortscript folder. It gave me a message to say the file associations has been made yet the docs still open in Word !!
AAAARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!
Try deleting the key at HKCR\.mscr...then opening mortscript.exe Then try to open your script. It deletes the file assc.

Thanks...where would I find the HKCR\.mscr Does that involve editing the registry as have never done it before
Yes this is a registry key. You will need a registry editor Total commander has a free one. Then just navigate to HKey_Classes_Root(hkcr) and locate the folder .mscr open it and delete the key in there..
In order to locate and edit the registry in total commander tap the / in the top right corner of the screen right next to the .. Then double tap on the \\ then double tap on Registry then HKCR then .mscr and delete the key labeled default ,or you could just double tap on it and then in the box provided type MortScript
key
Thanks,
have done as suggested, removed the keys, have removed and reloaded Mortscript. Rebooted phone....and they still open with Word Mobile !!!
Jeez - can it be so hard !!!
When you open that key what does it say.... when you open word go to menu and options and in display....click on word files, i dont think that will work but its worth a try

Hi, Thanks for your help so far
My word seems to be an editor only - as dont have any options to select.
mort
hi
Am getting somewhere now...turns out the file was named wireless.mscr.txt so have edited it to reflect the proper extension. Will try again now
Thanks again
well that makes a lot more sense...since the actual ext that you are opening is a txt. just drop the .txt
It's probably far more simple: You script has the wrong extension. It must be .mscr, not .psw, .doc or .txt. The default Explorer hides the extension, so your file's pobably named "somescript.mscr.psw" (or *.doc) but is shown only as "somescript.mscr". Use an explorer replacement like Total Commander or Resco, or the desktop's Explorer ("My mobile device") with "Hide extension for known documents" disabled in the options, and you'll see the wrong extension.
Edit: Oops, didn't realize there's a second page...
I have an exe that I found that I would like to add to my programs list. Is there a quick way to do this?
I can run it from file manager, but would like it to show up on the start menu or in list of programs
What you need to do is copy the file into
my device / windows / start menu / programs. Then paste it as a shortcut.
Hope this helps.
the in built file explorer wont let u do that. try total commander
When i right-click (hold the finger to the file) i get the following menu where you can see : Send shortcut to programs. It becaomes available in programs then.
Create a shortcut to the exe file using your file explorer and place shortcut in /windows/start menu/programs.
Thanks for everyone's help! I got it to work.
Glad you got it sorted.
