Good morning all,
Trying to look inside files, once again messing around I have associated the EXE files with a text editor and now I can't open any of my Programs. Can someone please help me out and give me a few answers from your registry? Here are a few of the entries I need in order to at least back up somethings before I have to hard reset.
If I'm missing something under these please add it also. Thanking you in advance for any and all help.
Donna

Before this site was hacked I have read a post about removing the old microsoft stack icon after putting the widcomm stack on it?
I can't find it anymore!
Does somebody knows how to do this without any bugs ?
Best regards,
Dide
You must delete a reg file.
Local_machine/services/BTicon.
Delete the BTicon reg. file. then soft reset
Doesn’t this solution slow down the performance of the unit after the soft reset?
I’ve read this in an older post.
I remember something about an extra solution for this one.
Br,
Dide
I can't really tell you this, I personaly used the method posted below.
if you afraid some trouble coz of delete this registry, you can add : mark before BTicon like this
;BTicon
this registry is not force any more. and try to use problem will be happened or not.
if you wish to make it back to default, you can delete this ; again. it registry will come back.
Original BTicon Registry Entries
Anyone who has the original BTicon values or an exported key? I need to restore my MS BT icon.. Thanks!

Hi, I tried to make a .reg to import three keyboard layout changing keys, like so:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload]
"Default"="e0010414"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1]
"Default"="e0010414"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
"Layout"="132116"
But the values didn't changed and I had to do it manually. (I did in both cases soft reset).
How to fix? And a .reg for tweaks etc would be very usefull.

Are you using hive or file based registry?
see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=767833
A suitable programme to change from "hive" to "file" based registry is Tweaks2k2 under its system tricks collection 5 setting. This will allow you to reset the device without the soft reset always discarding your changes and going back to default settings via the "hive"

But is the format of the keys correcT?

Nope. They all miss the DWORD type declaration and all have an unneeded " as in
"Flags"=dword:00000000
pppppppppppp
if you have flashed an english rom on x01ht, you need to change the registry to use the japanese key layout. install a registry editor first and change the values as follows.
from:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty] "Layout"= 20409 (Hexadecimal base)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] "Default"= e0010409
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] "Default"= e0010409
to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty] "Layout"= 20411 (Hexadecimal base)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] "Default"= e0010411
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] "Default"= e0010411
this won't fix "," and "." mapping although the symbols will be all mapped correctly.
i tried and it works..........perfect

which rom are you on? the mapping issue of "," and "." can be fixed if you have the latest i-mate rom or the latest tytn rom by changing it to this.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty] "Layout"= 30411 (Hexadecimal base)
i use more periods than commas so i don't do it and i forgot to mention it in my previous post.
thanks harry and also can i ask you again about MANNER MODE and NOTE/MEMO..when i change it to english version both side key buttom( left is memo and right is manner mode) are not working. Is there any way to fix this problem?
thx

manner mode only comes with softbank rom and it doesn't exist in any wwe roms. i had the same issue when i noticed it after flashing tytn rom on mine. what i have now is vibra that substitutes for manner mode although you can't map it to the manner mode button (press & hold comm manager button, button 3) and i have mapped it to the button 5 note/memo button (press & hold). read this thread and download vibra from there if you want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277811&highlight=vibra
i don't have any issues with my button 5 note/memo button. just a press will run voice speed dial and a press & hold will run vibra as i said. press & hold was record before i mapped vibra to it. check how your buttons are mapped by start -> settings -> buttons. you can change program assignments as you like.
ringer vibtrate switch works properly, and its nice........i like to used it
i knew X01HT with bootloader 1,09 is not unlockable but i changed the ROM to HTC-Z docomo properly but the problem is the KEYPAD i tried to used the same way(keypad registry) but it didnt works:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty] "Layout"= 30411
i cant change this to 20411 i always try but it always back to 30411
what is the best thing to do to make SYMBOL back to its original position?
tnx to harry
apacom,
i've never tried docomo rom and don't know how you can fix that. i know qtotter was using docomo rom on x01ht and he might be able to tell you what to do. why don't you send qtotter a pm and ask?
apacom,
let me give you my 2 cents again since nobody has responded to this since my last post. the docomo rom doesn't recognize 30411 for "Layout" and that's why your symbol mapping is screwed. It has to be 20411 with the docomo rom.
i don't understand why you can't change it back to 20411 when you could change it to 30411. try to change it to 20411 with your reg editor, take a breath and then power off and on your device. just pressing the reset button with your stylus won't make the reg changes effective.
i will try that way i hope it will works................thanks harry
Softbank X01HT keyboard mapping - registry editing
Hi
I can modify the first parameter but when I attempt to edit the other two, I get "Access is denied"
Anyone got any clues?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty] "Layout"= 20411 (Hexadecimal base)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] "Default"= e0010411
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] "Default"= e0010411
Nice one! Fixed my keyboard issues.
However, I lose my predictive text input for SMS'es - any idea how I can get it back? Using English with WMXL 0.20.1.
Thanks!
help anyone? totally missing my predictive text...I may hv to go back to the original registry changes
predictive text issue
I noticed this post previously.....I went throught the whole thing...and noticed predictive text dissappeared. I hard reboot and did the following
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
"Layout"="197649" (decimal)
without changing anything to 0411 and keyboard symbols worked perfectly as well as predictive text.
Try that instead.
you're a champ reactive1! That sure fixed it!
Thank you, glad to help out
Just to add one further point on this prolem. Apart from reactive1's great solution, i found that some shifted keys on the left were still wrongly mapped, such as ? ! @ and ?
To solve this you need to make sure that
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keyd] "Locale" is in the registry (add it if it is not) and set to 0411 (Hex) or 1041 (decimal)
Finally my X01ht keyboard now works!!
Standard Time cab and USA Regional cab
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's two cabs I threw together.
Standard time cab is simply [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides] "STFmt"="h:mm:ss tt"
The second one changes the date to m/dd/yy, standard time and USA keyboard, specifcally ..
1. Regional setting back to English
2. Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls] SystemLCID back to 409 (Hex) 1033 Decimal
3. Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internationa l] LCID back to 409 (Hex) 1033 Decimal
4. Registry Key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internationa l] ACP back to 4E4 Hex, 1252 Decimal
5. Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] Default back to e0010409
6. Registry Key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] Default back to e0010409
(These particular settings I found at http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?p=1469118 )
I'm working on a collection of essential cabs that I'll make available as soon as I'm sure that they work correctly. (essential to me ) ... things like Favorites on SC, My Documents on SC and syncing with ActiveSync, etc.
Enjoy!
(Any ideas, let me know!)

I had problem with QuickGPs on my Blackstone (it didnt start anymore), so i downloaded quickgps.cab from this post but now quickgps says error after running it so i think this version was not for blackstone intended. Could anyone post for me original files and settings to get up and running QuickGPs without troublesome hard reset ?
Thnx in advance
I've noticed that rom Cookers include quickgps-es in their roms - would someone include one here ?
Ive helped myself and read that i need those files:

mxiupdate_PA... (4 files)
QGPS_BUT_L (icon)
QGPS_BUT_L2 (icon)
QGPS_BUT_P (icon)

I have zipped all gps packages from the oem folder of my 1.19 rom. I will attach it here, just tell me if something is missing. Don't worry about the provxml files, just take the files you need and copy them into \Windows.
But I'm wondering whether a hard-reset would a better solution.
Johnpatcher thnx very much it is working now - the quickgps is starting but i get cannot connect try again later if i try to download gps data - so i am thinking could anyone post the registry settings from a working quickgps blackstone and point me what software is the best to registry editing to change it properly ? If it will work ill describe it to help anyone new with problem like me so we will help each other out
I have uploaded the oem package(s), because they already contain all needed registry data. You'll find the data within the rgu file, for QuickGPS it is:

I'm using Resco Registry Explorer, but thats totally up to you.
However, I'm asking you again: What did you do in order to destroy QuickGPS so massively? Why you don't just hard-reset your device?
1. Quickgps stopped working i thought it was software issue so i downloaded a version mentioned in post #1 - after installing it i finally found that one must delete the xtra.bin but it was already too late.
2. Hard reset will require installing all the software again and for now i got no time for it.
3. I want to invent some workaround method for all the community - for about one year i was only a reader and I got many helpul posts from the forum so if I can help someone - why not
Can i import all the settings to the registry by copy/paste somehow without manually rewriting it ?

With the right editor you can simply import it.
There are really many (free) registry editors out there, just search for them. I think an import function is a basic operation, so it should be included in most of the editors.
All files copied using Resco Explorer - even those he shouted that are in the rom file and registry imported (by the way I recommend ceregedit - one can change registry from desktop Pc - very handy), and still i get quickgps cannot connect try again later - any suggestions - am I missing something ? I switched also the AGPS feature off - should I turn it on ??? What does it do ?
I thought that an original xtra.bin file from windows directory might help - could someone post most recent one ?
