1 text message won't go away - Mogul, XV6800 General

My xv6800 is showing that I have one text message when I show the text message directory tree and on SPB MS. When I click on the text message inbox, there is nothing there. I have cleared text messages in the tools section and it still shows up. Soft reset does not get rid of it either. How do I get rid of this?

The program FixUnreadCount usually will fix this. Search the forums for the file or here is another link:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-fixunreadcount-v1-0.html

Well, I ran the program and it said there was one text message and now is zero. But then it still shows one text message, even after soft reset. I guess I will re-install SPB MS and see if that works.

I am having the same issue on my sprint 6800. I have the new ROM with WM6.1 Is there anything I can do with out doing a hard reset?

Yes, just think of "1" as "0" and don't sweat it.

Text messages: 1 unread

Hey guys,
I got a small problem, basically awhile ago, i received an sms, and i read it, but did a soft reset shortly after, anyways, when it booted back up, it still said 1 unread sms on my today screen, and so i went into my inbox, and couldn't find it.
Since then, i've cleaned up my entire inbox, but my today screen still says 1 unread message.
Is there anyway, i can have it back to normal? So it says 0 unread sms's without doing a hard reset?
It might be an undeleted Notification Que. Have you tried Check Notifications by scarybear to clean it up. Here: http://scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_cn_overview.html

Neat lil program, but still saying one unread!!! This thing is really frustrating me.
I remember I had a similar problem but on a different phone. Basically, did you transfer and use your SIM on another phone? If your answer is YES, just plugged the SIM back in to the other phone and delete the unread message. Then return the SIM to your Universal, and you won't have the unread message anymore. This worked for me, I hope it would worked on yours too.

I had that problem months ago. You pocket outlook database is corrupt. I fixed it using a little sprite backup utility that recovers the databases.........

Just wierd

My Wing just started doing something very wierd. No matter what I do I always have this phantom unread text message sitting on my phone. I have deleted all my messages from all of my boxes (inbox, sent, deleted, etc.) and I still have this indication that I have 1 unread message. Is there a way to reset this via a registry entry or something, or am I just stuck with it until i finally change ROM's or something similar?
I had this problem, except with a phantom unread email message (twice). I put up with it for a long time, until I ran across a program called fixunreadcount.exe.
You could try a search for it. If you can't find it, let me know and I will upload a copy. I have no idea who gets credit for it, though.
I should also point out that I had a little trouble getting it to work - had to soft reset a couple of times....
Good luck!

TXT Messages Don't Really Delete

I have found that the more messages I have in my in/out boxes for text messages, the more frequently I have to do a soft reset because WM froze. So, I periodically clear my boxes. However, I reciently got a replacement phone because of a bluetooth issue. Now, with the new phone, I cant get the messages to really delete. I have tried "Clear Text Messages," manually deleting the txts then deleting again from the deleted box, and using the "Empty Deleted Items." Each time the texts disapear, but when I do a soft reset, they return. WTF??
The phone is a stock Verizon VX6800 with no custom ROMs/Radios/etc. The only aftermarket software I have installed yet is ThemeMaster to switch my themes.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Anyone know what's going on with this?
Only thing I have to suggest is before you reset the device, make sure your text message app is shut off. Typically you'll lose new texts and such when you don't, works the same for everything deleted. Or just use the power button to shut it off. I heard it turns off everything for you when you do that.

I think this is a lot of poo myself. What does it matter if a message is setting in a file with no activity.
But yes, as mentioned, try shutting down your messaging in the running programs after you delete them. Then reset it.

TF3D Voicemail Message

Hello!
I've purchased a Touch HD a couple of weeks ago.
But I have a problem with the notification on TF3D homescreen saying there's one new voicemail message.
When I call voicemail, listen to the message, delete it, the notification does not go away.
I've searched the forums, and the solution to call myself and leave a message and then delete it does not fix the problem.
Also a soft reset does not make it dissappear.
Is there a register hack to remove the message?
Or something else I can do to make it go away?
H.
this is a bug - mine is doing the same thing.
And there's nothing we can do to solve it?
H.
Not sure if this will help but I had the same problem with an old wm device. The trick was to listen to the message, delete it/save it then wait a couple of seconds before hanging up.
similar problems with my old hermes and the problem was to do with sms_providers.dll file.
I had to replace this file.
Do a search in hermes directory
I think this may be due to the phone not being correctly setup for the network. I've had this on other WM handsets after flashing the ROM - and sorted the problem by installing the correct settings for the network, otherwise I'd get these kind of problems and sometimes strange SMSs with control characters in them.
Try going to "Connection Setup" in Settings -> Connections and resetting to the correct network & country.
Hope that helps.

lol - of course its set up for the correct network. I made sure it was one of the first things I did!
Well, tried the solution with the sms_providers.dll change, but no luck.
Actually I don't think that was going to work anyway because I don't get weird text messages saying new voicemail.
That works just fine. The only problem I have is that it displays the 1 one voicemail message in between the call info and the calendar on my home screen. And what I try, it just won't go away.
I've also tried to reset the connection setting, but that didn't help also.
I'm going nuts about this!
Is no one else having this issue?
For your info, it's a dutch official rom version.
H.
Also when I leave myself 2 voicemails it still displays 1 new voicemail message.
It appears to be stuck.
Is there a registry setting for tf3d to remove this or something??
H.
Ok,
I've done a hard reset and the notification is gone now.
Hopefully it's not coming back anymore!
Thankz for all your help!

Okay, I just sent myself a voicemail and when I retreived it I deleted it and waited until the voice said deleted and then I pushed * to exit and now the notification is gone from my screen. I don't know if I had to do all of that but it worked anyways.
Registry Fix to Clear Voicemail Indicator
Using any registry editor go to the following keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/System/State/Messages/vmail/Line1/Unread
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/System/State/Messages/vmail/Line2/Unread
Display values and change Count value back to zero.
Worked like a charm!

TP2 says I have new txt mssg when I really don't

All of a sudden for some odd reason, my Sprint TP2 has been alerting me that I have a new text message. I get the little green circle with the number 1 in it, alerting me that I have an unread text message when all of them have been opened and read. I've tried soft resetting and nothing. I've tried clearing my inbox/sent items/deleted items thinking it was full or clogged but still nothing. I have no idea why it started doing this. Its just annoying having my phone vibrate every 5 minutes with my ReRemindv7 app. Anybody have a solution to this besides hard resetting?
what i have found to work to solve this is... have somebody text you. but before they do. have microsoft's messager open. (aka start menu -> text). when you get the text message. it will be bold. open it. ...works for me. in ridding of the notification for a text that isnt there. hope it helps you. as well.

Run and soft reset. Worked for me.
you might have to fully open the convo with that contact. or go to tools and delete all.

When I copy the link into my browser I'm asked to input a username and a password. I insert my xdadevelopers info. Then I get a message saying 530 Permission denied.

That's the thing, I check in my contacts and nobody has an unread message. Its just thinking that I have an unread message when everything is empty. And when I do get one text message it says that I have 2 unread messages. And this is only with sms, not email. Email is fine. This is just too weird and annoying.

really? weird.
i just had that problem. earlier today.
i did exactly as i suggested.
and the invisible text disappeared.
sorry. about it not helping.
hope you end up finding a solution.

alright. try this.
again. using microsoft messager.
open up the conversation you and another are having.
have that person text you. reply.
there text to you should still be bold.
select it. bold should go away.
and the invisible text...
...just realized. that the invisible text i had.
came back. doing that made it disappear.
hasnt come back.
i hope that way works.

Here I attached the file from my previous post. Just run it, then soft reset.
Here's a thread on PPCGeeks with more info on this problem and about the cab posted above.
