I am, obviously, a noob. Please forgive my ignorance. I've searched around for posts dealing with this issue but cannot seem to find any.
I have flashed my ATT 8525 with HardSPL in preparation of trying out some ROMs. Well, ever since I did the flash, I've noticed that I nolonger have an Edge data connection. It has defaulted to the GPRS. I was hoping that maybe the flash just caused it to rename the E to a G but I do not think that is the case. I have noticed a difference in speed (G being slower than E). Is there a radio I can flash to get my E(dge) connection back?

Maybe I should have posted this as a potential 'bug' in the hardSPL thread.
I managed to flash with the 1.54.30.10 radio and everything seems to be working. Apologies for wasting your time.
Not waste of time, it tells us of potential problems with apps and utilities we all use..

Check your Radio ROM version... it might went back and EDGE support is only after 1.27.00

Well, I just got the dev rom loaded and this is really great... Although my problem is still this...
I am fairly certain my GSM radio is still CF'd... The unit runs slow (probably due to phone related issues) and when I goto bootloader mode, I am still told that the GSM Error is still existing...
Has anybody managed to use XDA Rite to either put the TMobile RSU on their unit or the ATT RSU on their unit...
I understand you can't go backwards, but I am not sure the ATT RSU ever really went through...
I certainly seem to be seeing the end of the tunnel somewhere...
As always, any help would be appreciated...

Why don't u try to load att image again? Problem is there is no way to backup GSM rom, so u must use RSU upgrade from the provider. run the att rsu upgrade again and it will load the Radio stack.

Just got my new M5000 after i accidentally threw the last one across the work car park.
I have just spent the last 45 mins browsing the site to work out what the latest roms and radios are so that i can get my nice virgin phone up to date.
However all i did was get very confused easily done im afraid.
Could someone please give me a difinitive answer on which updates i should run.

First question is did you have any problems with your original M5000?
If not, dont fix something that is not broken!
If the original ROM worked ok for you.. stick with it.. I have...
Sensible searching in this forum will find you cures to most issues without upgrading your ROM...
If you still want to upgrade your ROM I'll leave the answer to 'which' & 'how' to others who have tried and tested it...
i had upgraded the radio to 1.6 i think but i see there is a 1.9 now but i cant find the exe to download.
Upgrade the radio, but don't bother with the extended rom.
Just remember to take note of the GPRS connection settings before you hard-reboot.
I had a replacement M5000 a few weeks ago i am now running the latest orange rom with radio 1.09.
It works great however one word of note i had to update the rom 3 times before the calender worked i assume the file must have corrupted during upload.

I want just the radio ROM, I get dropped calls a lot- but not just dropping, the antenna cuts out, and resets. I am running OS 2.24 and ROM 2.25 (I am using the custom version). Problem has been happening since 2.17 version, and having read though a few items, I thought i would try to run Radio ROM 1.08 or 1.09, seemed to solve a friends issue, but they don't have the ROM anymore. Anyone able to send it my way?

Second, you can not use a 1.x Radio Rom with 2.x Bootloader and vice-versa.
Third, per the thread I referred you to the problem is not the Radio Rom but rather the connection method some programs (i.e. Agile Messenger & PocketWeater 1.3.x) use.
Please use the search function before starting a new thread about an existing issue.
Sorry thanks for the input! I normally browse over at Howard's Forums and this problem creeps up often with no fix- assumed those over there check over here since there are so many blank threads overthere with this issue.

I'm a newbie to this forum so I took my time before actually opening this topic and read through most of the stuff around here, also tried searching to see if anyone had the same question as me but couldn't find anything, so, here it goes.
I just recently got a T-Mobile MDA (the wizard) and I seem to be having problems with receiving phone calls. If the phone goes idle for long enough the calls just don't go through, but, if I call someone then for a period of time they do come in just as normal. Is this a known problem to the device? Has anyone else had this same issue?
I've tried contacting both T-Mobile and HTC but neither was of any help yet. The phone is running on WM6, with a ROM that I can't really tell which is (it's the one that loads with a BOOM! written on the startup screen, maybe that helps?).
The phone has been master reseted and the problem goes on, sim card changed, all the stuff. My question is:
Anyone know if this could be a problem related to the ROM of the WM6 i'm running? Or anyone just have a clue of what could be the problem or ways to fix it?
I was going to go through an upgrade / change of ROM but thought would be best to ask first and see if it's necessary so I don't take unecessary risks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what is your radio rom?
2.19 seems to be most stable with wm6's.
The Radio version I have is a 2.25.11 (shown on device information)
ROM Version 11.0.0.0 if that means anything.

I'm sorry for this bump.
I just finished upgrading the phone to a TNT 6.1 "It's right" ROM, that Professional TouchFlo one, and yet, the problem seems to continue.
I'm guessing that I'm really SOL on this one and that it's a phone hardware issue then? And also, guessing that HTC wouldnt help me since it's moded?
Should I try to downgrade to the T-Mobile original software and maybe hope that it works better there?
If anyone has any input or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

How do I change my radio rom? Is it just updating with another rom of WM6? Like trying another different or do I need to do something specific?
I know it's not supposed to be advertising or suggesting a specific rom here in the forum but I really have no idea what could be a stable one that I could give a try.
In the replies a 2.19 is mentioned but I tried searching the forum and didn't find an answer, could someone give me a hand please?

Sorry about the truoble. I did try searching all over the place on this issue and only came up short on most. Got a lot of responses but it seemed like none was very decisive or without a good explanation.

If I install the 2.19 radio only as joemanb suggests, will it reset all my programs and setting back to factory? in other words, do I loose everything as if I'm doing a ROM update?
had the same problem, i dont remember what radio rom i had, some1 suggested to changed to 71, didnt work, and then in a thread that was very similar to this one, a guy suggested to the creator to use 2.19.11, who then was very thankful because it worked. gave it a try, and now im looking for that thread to say thanks and report that the problem is long gone!
So yes, try 2.19.11, i downloaded it from the very first post of the radio upgrade thread, the one thats says for europe. And no, you wont lose everything, its only a RADIO rom change, things related to the phone settings not the PDA.

Just wanted to say a big thank you, I indeed used the 2.19 as recommended and it worked to perfection. No more missed calls and surprisingly, my reception actually got a lot better so I'm now a very happy customer. It also diminished by a lot the problem I had with ending short calls or stopping it before going through.

Plus, your not giving us much info to go on. And actually, I'm guessing if you searched with some of the details of how your nosgm started, someone probably already experienced it and has a conclusion of how to fix/couldn't fix.

No GSM showing means that something went wrong with the radio rom upgrade.
I suggest that you try to downgrade to the official rom for your device. Then you can upgrade to whatever version of OS you want, but make sure that the rom does not contain radio upgrade.
The Issue "No GSM" is because of bad sodering contacts between the QC and Samsung flash or the Samsung CPU and the contiguous flash (samsung) and it resuts all the strange behaviours of this HTC model. Anyway for me it's another proof of samsung quality
Low emission soldering + thin ICs (big foolish sandwich FLASH/CPU) + over located Keyboard = possible cold/bad contact soldering problem.
The proof is the many "NoGSM" issues got without any trying ROM update, or the too many 2XX errors during upgrade.
Do you have a problem with the radio not working?(not able to receive signal, make/receive calls/text?) Cause i had the same problem. Anyways, the way i fixed it is by dissasembling the 8525, and reassembling it back together. Then i flashed the official wm6 rom with 1.48 radio, and it works fully now.
I heard that no gsm can occur with a failed radio flash, which i think is unrepairable, except by replacing the motherboard. If it wasnt a failed radio flash, then i think theres several methods to remedy it. Just try all the methods including mines. Hope you get it to work, theres been too many "no gsm" errors lately. Whoever designed the 8525 should be shot for making such a weak phone.

you should downgrade back to shipped "official" rom for Dopod838pro, like this rom
