So I've had this happen quite a few times on my Wing.
The phone has nothing in the outbox, and tries to continuously connect to MMS services and never stops. I found one fix for this, and that is to turn the phone OFF and back on. Well I did this this time, and it did it again.
Other glitch:
I all of a sudden had a message in my outbox that I could not delete, and the phone kept resending. Ultimately leading to me hard resetting the phone.
What the heck? Any ideas?
i have had both problems, here is what i did
for the first issue:
1) let it stay connected for about 10 minutes, make sure you aren't receiving an MMS.
2) make sure your HTC Home Weather is set to update MANUALLY
3) make sure you don't have palringo or other internet usage programs set to run on startup
for the second
1) hard reset
haha, yeah, that's the only solution i found for the second one.

Hi
Im noticing that the xdaII tends to lockup more often than the xda1.
Often if i try and switch it on with the power key, nothing happens. Need to soft reboot it.
Other times, the menus and actions go very slow. Other times, the contacts wont display, now matter how often the contact button is pressed.
any thoughts?
I have noticed a few locks usually when trying to end a phone call....just doesn't respond and needs a soft-reset.
It also sometimes takes AGES to power on or get to the bluetooth screen...
Better than XDA1 though!

Same here, and when someone tries to call me, it seems to me that the Phone does not react on an incoming call too. I've just tried it when i found my Qtek 2020 locked again. I can't put it on, but both blue and yellow leds are flashing. I called myself again, but it does not respond. This is definetely NOT good ! I had some complaints already that i couldn't be reached, I did not realise it's the device !! It works fine after a reset but it happend a few times already, without notice. This is something that really bothers me. Any ideas?
too many active processes
the device, as configured, has too many running processes.
Microsoft had the wisdom to limit the PPC to 32 processes.
After that, it removes some of them... which can crash the system.
You should remove some of the \window\startup applications,
most likely the sim manager, backpack, and the xflashman.exe
apps which auto-backup the contacts/appointments.
this was discussed on ppcw.net ... and has certainly cleared most of my problems.
I still see the phone not receieving a call while GPRS is active,
e.g. when it checks for my email while someone tries to call.
Anyone else can confirm this?
1. connect to GPRS
1. start IE for a large page via GRPS
2. call yourself from a land line while IE is loading
I have just started backing up via Activesync, and set it as an automatic back-up to occur each time i synchronise my data. It worked OK the first few times, and was quite quick, whizzing through more or less as quickly as synchronisation.
However, I changed some of my USB connections around (thus I unplugged my cradle) and now the sycnchronisation works just as quickly, but the automatic back-up seems to get 'stuck'. I watch the little bars, and it goes quite quickly and then gets stuck (on backing up deleted items - it always seems to happen in the same place). It goes so slowly that I just have to give up. It won't Cancel or close with the X box so I have to unplug the Sync cable to stop it.
I wanted to disable the automatic back-up in Active-Sync, but it isn't possible to select it (it is just grey, in the background). So now I'm stuck with it, and as it is now hard to synchronise my data I tend not to do it as often, which is more of a worry than having my applications not backed up.
Has anybody any idea what I can do to fix it?
Thanks
Cathy
Guys,
I'm pulling my hair out over this. My MDA Vario has often rebooted itself and i've always put it down to a glitch of one form or another, but today it has been rebooting every few minutes.
Each time it reboots a text message i've read reappears as NEW, as though the phone doesn't register me reading it before it crashes and reboots. If I delete this and other messages, within minutes once it's crashed and rebooted they will all return like a CACHED memory or something.
I don't know what to do.
It seems as soon as my screen dims on power save, it won't come back on and within a few seconds the screen goes white as it is rebooting.
Sometimes reading this message or doing anything in the message application causes the crash, sometimes it's happenign even without me doing anything.
HOWEVER - once i've turned off the power saver dimming the screen, no reboot is occuring. I've gone into the messages, read and deleted this message among others, and no reboot. If I manually turn the screen off though, within a few seconds it reboots.
What is going on ?!
i have the same exact problem! I changed the battery the day before yesterday and it has not done it since, but im not sure if it solved the problem as sometimes it does not restart in one whole day!
I have just got a HD2, and used activesync successfully for the last 2 days to sync contacts and load the HTC hotfixes from their web site. Today however, it has just stopped working. The phone connects (but takes a very long time) and starts the sync process, but then the progress bar doesn't move at all for ages or sometimes moves to about half way in 10 minutes but won't get any further.
Before the status bar starts moving and randomly during the sync process I get the message "A problem has occured with services.exe Please tell microsoft about this problem...." The status bar usually starts moving a little after sending this error report. I also get the message "A problem has occured with connmgr.exe...."
Trying to stop activesync freezes the device completely for several minutes but it usually frees eventually although I have had pull the battery a couple of times.
Occasionally when it does start I get the warning message "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. All changes made since your last successful sync will be lost. Do you wish to continue?" although I have made no changes whatsoever on the PC. I've never come across a message like this from activesync before on any other device.
Has anyone had these problems or have any idea how I can fix them?
Cheers
Do you have sync problems with 3G or with USB? It usually happens to me with USB.
Try this. At Settings|Wireless, turn off Direct Push. Turn off Data connection. Go to mail. Do a Menu|SendReceive. If it works, then go back to enable those two options. I have no idea why but this often works.
Unpluging the USB often makes it better.
delete profiles in actvie
sync tools->active sync
soft reset
sync again
Be happy
Sfr0g, how do I delete the profile? I can't find that option.
Cheers
My phone has been working great. Last night though, my phone just wouldn't connect to my wifi. I rebooted the phone a few times, along with the router, but it still would't connect.
I did a factory reset to see if that solved it. It didn't. My phone was plugged in on charge at the time, and when I tried to set it up, it just hung on the wifi part, when it was supposedly connecting. This happened again after a few more factory resets. About 1am this morning it managed to connect so I could set up my phone, though it took forever to connect. When I tried to sign into Gmail that took ages as well.
I lost all my MMS and data settings. I need to input them manually - cheap network provider - and to input them, I needed to get the settings online. Low and behold my internet died. It's working now, but I won't have time to input them - gotta head to work.
So at the moment I have a phone with no apps installed, no antivirus, no data settings, but I need to take it with me to stay in touch with people.
So my questions are these. Performing numerous factory resets in a row - whilst the phone is on charge - won't have damaged the phone at all right? I was just a bit hesitant performing so many resets, but needed to resolve the problem.
Second of all, taking my phone out with no antivirus - but having data turned off - shouldn't be a problem should it?
I'll have to set it all up when I get home, but for now I just need a phone.
antivirus ? :\
