I try to run it but my device show
"The file 'USBtoPC' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with trusted certificate,or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
Please help me.

I've gotten this message with a few applications that I installed to my SD card. When I uninstalled them and reinstalled them to my device they worked fine. You might want to try that.
HTH,
Brett
No luck, but thanks for having a stab. I wonder if it needs the specific JVM rather than whatever is currently installed?

Trouble with unsigned files and Qtek 9100

I have a swedish Qtek 9100. I had trouble installing some applications but then I used the SetSecurity.exe so now I can install the applications without the security prompt. But some of the applications I install can not be started without an error message.
For example, I bought Xbar 3 and when I press the battery symbole I get this error message.
"The file power could not be opened. It is probably not signed with a trusted certificate, or otherwise some of the components could not be found. Yoy might have to reinstall the application or restore this file"
The message is roughly translated from swedish.
I get this error message with other applications as well. How can I get past this error so I can use my applications? I have tested with Default_Cert_SPCS.CAB but with no luck.
Would be very happy for a solution of this.

I have this problem too!
Did you ever solve it please?
ps I get this particularly on hyperlinks...I don't have the app you quote and I get it on an O2 Exec (HTC Universal)
Check to see if the shortcut is correctly pointing to the source-file.
Unfortunately, nothing can be done to these error messages. They have nothing to do with he security mechanisms - so, switching off security won't help. These apps are just not compatible with WM5.
No I found a way to make them work. I sign the exe files with a certificate I found named TestCert_Privileged.cer.
Then I just install the cert on the Qtek 9100 and then all my applications is working!
Please post a link to TestCert_Privileged.cer or at least tell people where they can get it pls?
I donĀ“t remember where I found it so I attaches the files here instead. Unpack them and run sign.bat <filename> to sign the exe file with the cert. And copy the cer file to the phone and open it to install it. Then you can copy the signed exe file to your phone and the application will start.
Cheers
I hope it will work for you, all my apps that got that annoying error message are now working after the signing procedure

"Not digitally signed wuth trusted certificate"

Hi all !
Tried to install the software and have this error message.
Is it possible to overcome this ?
Registry hack does not work.
Allow the unsigned app from installing for everything.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Secutiry\Policies\Policies]
Change value 0000101a from 0 to 1 Do a soft reset.
baudy.
try this file
it will then disable the 'signed' part of the installation and should therefore not give you any errors.

Thanx anyway !
If you tried the Disable Security CAB file and you're still getting that message, it's a possibility that the file was actually modified. In that particular case, you have to have the device re-signed... search for signcode here...
Disable Security CAB file unavailable
Hi, it would seem that beyondthetech has made an arrangement with his hosting company that prevents him from hosting cab files to reduce his traffic burden. Does any one have a copy of the disable security cab file as all links point to beyondthetech and no files are available from there currently
Thanks in advance
the file is on my post above and still downloads without any problems!
do you have something like this for the s620?

I can't help you with your particular enquiry, but I have exactly the same device history as per your signature - give or take a couple of Symbian devices along the way. I am on the HD2 at the moment. Still love the jasjar though - terrified of the day when the battery dies on me.

fix!!!!!!
ok go to settings (back all your stuff up) security and factory reset ok then install the disable security signed thing and your done

'mrplay' cannot be found...

Hi,
I recently tried installing spb's Phone Suite. It seemed to work fine until I received a text message, when it threw up an error:
"The file 'mrplay' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."
Uninstalling Phone Suite didn't solve the problem. My guess is that there is either a file missing from the install, or the install changed/deleted/moved a file that was there previously. I'm yet to receive any real support from them, so I was wondering if anyone on here knew anything about 'mrplay'. Is it something comes with Windows Mobile 5?
Thanks
Andrew

I installed a medical program that is intended for wm2003 that someone altered so it would run on wm5/6, after softreset, some programs don't run. It says "the file 'autorun' cannot be opened. Either it si not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
I get this with a lot of programs. I uninstalled this software and nogo. I can't even reinstall .net 3.5 or .net 2.0.
Weird problem...thanks

Happened to me too.
Hard reset was my only choice. I tried twice with the same result.
I completely deleted it as it messed up everything.
search the forum for msigner install on your desktop signs the exe and should sort the problem

Thanks, I tried it and even after signing several files, the ppc still says not signed... any ideas what files the ppc uses to check signing? Maybe I can replace those and be done.

I tried the same, deleting the files that were still installed (one ROM file was overwritten), but HR was the solution. Keep looking for the fault took longer that a HR anyway, didn't made sense at some point.
