Trouble with unsigned files and Qtek 9100 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I have a swedish Qtek 9100. I had trouble installing some applications but then I used the SetSecurity.exe so now I can install the applications without the security prompt. But some of the applications I install can not be started without an error message.
For example, I bought Xbar 3 and when I press the battery symbole I get this error message.
"The file power could not be opened. It is probably not signed with a trusted certificate, or otherwise some of the components could not be found. Yoy might have to reinstall the application or restore this file"
The message is roughly translated from swedish.
I get this error message with other applications as well. How can I get past this error so I can use my applications? I have tested with Default_Cert_SPCS.CAB but with no luck.
Would be very happy for a solution of this.

I have this problem too!
Did you ever solve it please?
ps I get this particularly on hyperlinks...I don't have the app you quote and I get it on an O2 Exec (HTC Universal)

Check to see if the shortcut is correctly pointing to the source-file.

Unfortunately, nothing can be done to these error messages. They have nothing to do with he security mechanisms - so, switching off security won't help. These apps are just not compatible with WM5.

No I found a way to make them work. I sign the exe files with a certificate I found named TestCert_Privileged.cer.
Then I just install the cert on the Qtek 9100 and then all my applications is working!

Please post a link to TestCert_Privileged.cer or at least tell people where they can get it pls?

I don´t remember where I found it so I attaches the files here instead. Unpack them and run sign.bat <filename> to sign the exe file with the cert. And copy the cer file to the phone and open it to install it. Then you can copy the signed exe file to your phone and the application will start.

Cheers

I hope it will work for you, all my apps that got that annoying error message are now working after the signing procedure

error software run at start up in WM5?

I want to have some softs run at start up (use the option provided by the software, eg.: photo contacts, wisbar) in WM5, but it always give an error
"The file "xyz" cannot be opened. EIther it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or 1 of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file"
But if i try to open the software manually after the system has loaded, it works fine.
Any1 know how to solve this?
Thanks

Looking for Windows Live and Messenger

Is that an unexpired version of windows live and messenger I can install on my WM5 MDA? I only found one over on the Hermes forum, WindowsLive.PPC_ARM_NonBETA_NoDate.zip, but the post said it will only work for Hermes. Not sure if that's true or not.
Thanks.
So I was able to find a copy of Windows Live. The problem is when I install it, and try to do a search from the today plugin I get the following message.
The file "search URL" cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or on of it's components cannot be found. You might need ot reinstall or restore this file.
It's the same error message I get with MSN.
Has T-Mo done something in their ROM with their customizations. I know before installing customizations I can use MSN. It's very strange...
There's an RGU file in t-mob's rom that has some settings in it. I personally cook mine into the ROM and put the settings in the .rgu file in OEMMISC. I'm not sure what they are though.

Strange error after first BOOT

Hi everyone, I just recieved my brand new Diamond2 in Czech localisation (original from retailer) and after first boot I got this error:
Error
Install
\Windows\OpenCZ_Settings_Topaz.CAB
failed, code=0x80090006
I assume its the czech localisation but any advice? If I dont solve the problem, Ill send it on monday back
Regards
Pylorus
There are a couple of things you can do:
- Manually try to install it using the file explorer: \Windows\OpenCZ_Settings_Topac.CAB
- Make a hard-reset (hold Vol-up & Vol-Down and press the reset button under the battery case to see if it happens again.
Thx for swift reply ...
- I tried several hard resets and booting with / without SIM and or microSD - still the same error
- I managed to get the phone partially working, because you can move the error window aside and access the startmenu and open explorer. I executed the file manually, but got the error message: "The program cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate."
Unfortunately I can not access the phone via USB (first customisation hasnt finished and active sync does not open) and I'm afraid flashing the device with another ROM because of warranty
Any Idea how to tweak the phone to lower the phones security allowing installing not signed cabs?
Thx...
well if you get this error even after a hardreset, you should definitely send it back..

Try sdkcert. That should do what you want install it before installing your .cab what is needed
Problem solved - i sent the device back and the whole board was replaced - new IMEI, but now its working like a charm
for the future..I have had a same problem with my TD2..After few hours I found out that I could this error off in taskmanager. Then it worked.. It was just some czech layout for my topaz but I did not want it either.. So for those who will buy TD2 with this error and don´t want chzech langugage on it, just close it in taskmanager..

QuickGPS On Vogue

Hello everyone I decided to Start a new Thread for all the people who want to try to have QuickGPS (offline AGPS) working on the Vogue.
I've read and read and read about the Quickgps not working and found out two things.
1 If you get an certificate error you are downloading a wrong or bad cab file.
2 If you get a connection fail error it is not a connection error, because it does download the xtra.bin file to the temp folder.
Question is: What is QuickGPS supposed to do after it downloads the xtra.bin
file to the temp folder?
If I manually move it to the windows folder it shows on the Qgps main screen but it doesnt show the days remaining so I think something else has/needs to be done besides of just copying/moving the file to the windows directory.
Has anyone gotten QuickGPS to work on their Vogue? (using Verizon XV6900)
I had it working only once but it had to been with either the leaked or stock VZW ROM. I found a file in another thread a while with a patch version. Now this will not even work.
found the thread over at PPC Geeks.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=29959
Did anyone get this to work?
QuickGPS doesn't work on my Verizon XV6900
I get an error "the file 'quickGPS' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found..."

I get the same error everytime. I have tried installing it even right after flashing.
you need to install sdkcerts.cab first

which ROM are you using?
topaz-nl-r1.6-manila
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538039
It is a Dutch version (the error notice is a translation)
I found some topics on the net but they where in russian
Fixed it
I took the files from a Topaz wm6.5 kitchen package and simply copy'ed them to the windows folder.
