XDA II (IMATE) is compleatly UNSTABLE...

Bought an XDA II last week here in Dubai.. after being the rest of the week in the UK and finding more dropped calls and "UNABLE TO ACCEPT CALL" :evil: issues than I have ever had with my Qtek...plus all the "FREEZES" :evil: than even on the original qtek at launch...I would suggest having a good look at this thing before going ahead and buying it !!! This is not a flame message, I will try to talk with CarrierDevices (They are in the Next building to ours in Dubai...). Only thing I can think off as possible issue is that this is an Arabic version ! but I am using it in English !!!, and apart from the ISSUES I think the phone is cool and the screen is super good (better than my company provided ipaq 2xxxx.

I have the same Rom that you specified,but it has the arabizer that can be disabled, but i am having problems with the photo contacts program that is not working properly (it won't preview and doesn't work), do you know when will there be a more stable ROM or if u have access to one.
Other that that it ROCKS!!

I would say all the arabic-specific stuff is in Extended_ROM. See our page metioned previously on how to access this.

the versions you quoted are the same as the ones from Dubai...
I have tried the Arabizer both ON and OFF, still I get the unstable reactions....pity...nice piece of kit really.... carrier devioces are back at work tommorow lets see what they have to say for them selfs...

Well regarding the unstable part i have 2 XDA II one unbranded and the other is i-mate to be honest the i-mate is working great just like the unbranded device when i removed the pre installed arabizing software.
so i think there is ure problem which by the way also used to happen on the normal XDA...
i have also managed to work the bluetooth on it itssssss charming.

SIM?
I think if you have a SIM card with a round metalic contacts, rather than the square(er) contacts of newer 3v only SIM cards there are some stability issues.
I've a square 3v SIM and no stability issues to speek of.

we only have phase 3 sim cards here...”3v only” is the old style…
try the following hit the "Wireless" icon and note how long it takes for the dialogue box to pop up then hit the "Turn the radio off" hotspot.. You will notice much longer delays before it performs the task, the same happens when you have switched it off and then attempt to "Switch the radio on". A further prob is with the Volume control....do the following...call your voicemail "long" press the green phone key, now when the speakerphone is on , reduce the volume with the side "Slider" when it is at minimum try to increase it...it don’t work you can only use the stylus on the screen, if you allow, after reducing the volume, the dialog to disappear then try to increase the volume with the slider it works again, then if with the dialogue displayed you then end the call the dialogue will appear to be stuck on screen, and only disappear after about 10 secs...I have tried the above with Arabizer on and off, I have even "Cold" booted and said cancel when the "customize" dialogue pops up....

Hard Reset when Registering to Network

Hello Everybody,
I have just another cool prob.
My unit is HARD RESETTING every time I reach a radio signal
Radio Stack: 1.05.00
ExtRom: can't upgrade, defected
OS: 1.13 ITA
Can it be a wrong Radio the solve? I will now begin all what I maked:
1) The great error of upgrade to 1.12 Imate ITA from an ITA Qtek
2) The repairing center said that there was a mix of Qtek and Imate: and that it's impossible to upgrade
3) After trying to upgrade with an almost dead battery (and failing 2 times) I think that I've defected the ExtRom: but that would not be a problem, only for the repairing centre that would to change the MoBo
4) Suddenly I notice noitceable interferences when I was calling and when gaining any tipe of signal
5) Tried MANY radio stacks (and upgraded to OS 1.13 ITA too
6) And then, everything worked "fine" besides the interferences, the ExtRom, and the low temperature mess that will not wake up the Unit, but the Radio Stack was still functioning
7) And finally the real mess: I was listening to music with TCPMP, when a call arrived. I've answered normally, and closed the call. HARD RESET.
So, after few seconds to register to the network, it Hard Reset. Not sure of this, but I think that it can be the interferences that occurs. If it is, I'm supposed to pay the hardware reparation, 230+ €. Hope thet a Radio Upgrade will solve the mess. Otherwise, I will broke this deficient "phone" (that isn't anymore on how it seems)
Note that all the other things are perfectly functional, even the bluetooth stack.
After this, I will probably write all the things wrong on this f***ing device...

This is an upgrade of the mess
First the interference is called RF leakage (or something similar)
Second I've tried to upgrade the radio stack to 1.13 and what I've found: The problem persist! :lol: :lol: :lol:
Third, I think it's really the RF: it gradually appeared and so... PUFF!
I will also add that if a sound was made by the ext spk when RF is audible, it was amplyifing... To mention, the red button was making ext sound... Finally I will say that the RF had destroyed himself; I can't hear it anymore, because it's HARD RESETTING first.
Mine is a faulty device, I know. I loved it too, I felt really bad when it hard reset in this manner. I also know that I have payed 420€ for a phone pda... Now it's value it's below 200€... I'm gonna cry
Now I only hope the repairing center will accept it. SURE IT ISN'T A ROM PROBLEM. Now I only need someone that can explain me how to get rid of the error 113 that face me in the ExtRom Upgrade... Because if I succeed in this and upgrade to a pure Qtek rom, there will be some chances to regain warranty... Without pay anything...

Yes, I've tried it.
Sure, I think it's impossible repairing it for myself. Sigh.
I also noticed that everytime I Hard reset the unit by the network registering prob, my ext speaker is WAY degraded. It probably seems that the interference is eating my speaker...
The ONLY thing that I can do is to try to upgrade the ExtRom bypassing the error 113. By doing this, the repairing center can declare the integrity of the rom and the native faults.
Luckily I've left my old phone, the Nokia 3200, still perfect...

Hy everyone i`m new on this part of XDA forum,I just bought my self a HTC Tytn and i have some prb with it.Sometimes the display suddenly turns white but i don`t know why even when i press long power button,in the menu i have the camera shortcut but when i try to access her it just won`t open the camera,the signal allways changes rare when it stays full signal.I have the official wm6 ROM eng what can i do?

You appear to be suffering the dreaded whitescreen... There are a heap of different things that seem to cause this and it can be a royal pain to fix as there may be multiple causes (do a search for whitescreen hermes). If you bought 2nd hand then thats why...
As for the camera, a Hard reset or different rom may fix this as long as the camera hasn't been jarred loose off the mainboard contact. You'd need to open to fix that.

When i bought it it had wm 6 black 2.0 and still didn`t work after that i put the official wm6 ROM but still don`t work i openit and the camera it is still on the main board i don`t know what to do with it none of the 2 cameras works

Did you check the camera was plugged in correctly. It is quite easy to remove and can look attached when in fact it isn't. Refer to the HTC service manual to pull it apart properly.

i took it off and then put it at her place again but still doesn`t work the OS sees her but i can`t access her

With this you can Upgrade whatever you find in your way jajajaja
Try to search there is outside a Thread related to this trouble White screen.

But make sure you Hard SPL your Hermes again to 2.10 olipro. Hard SPL V7...

i just run the RUU the ipl i whant to upgrade but i ain`t sure that this can be posible..differences betwen the other one oli pro`s SPL i can see any untill now but i`m sure it has to be some i saw that the differences betwen the version`s are poasted on the spl thread so...i don`t think that the differences can be seen

FM Radio Help

Hi all.
As 1st post 1 problem
I brought Polaris last saturday and "upgraded" to M-Anime 2.0 as first thing.
All works ok but Radio FM cannot find any station.
I',m not english so read all post is very hard.
Is thare any Known bug for this Apps. or should i think that this problem is only for my phone. ?

Welcome to our forum!
FM Radio pick up is very poor with Polaris. Maybe no problem with your phone.
I'm sure someone else can suggest other options.

Had the same problem first....
So, unplug...plug your headset 1-2times.
Then change the frequency band, and push the button for external speaker/headphones.
After one of "these" he found for me.
I think he tried to search over the internal speaker which is way to short or not compatible. After clicking all buttons it worked xD

My Radio FM has no problem whatsoever.
On a volume 10% works fine. Over 10% would take the risk of seeing a doctor in two weeks time.
Besides, FM is just a gadget which you would really use when you have no other way.
Lastly, do not forget that you are on FM which when you are mobile (moving around) broadcast depends on wavelinks and the arial (antenna) which goes with it is such a sensitive one, that it exagerates the deffects.

In my polaris with M-Amine 2.0 ITA radio work very well

I've tried to installe the original ROM and things doesn't change.
When the radio FM app starts the logo that appears when windows is loading run for lon time and nothing appends. The only way to stop it is unplug and replug the headphone. by the way all the radio buttons are disabled and the intm in menu "scan for station" is disable too.
Should I return it to the vendor?

Have you tried at least, the touch buttons on the display??
I thing for me the problem was solved touching the button for "switch output" left from the volumebuttons.

nothing happends, all button on display are disabled, all sub items in popup menu ( are disabled)

Is there any way to reinstall only the radio FM .cab?

official final i-mate k-jam rom and radio (Arabic Rom)
my wizard have been giving me a headache ever since i bought it , the problem is seriously that i cant identify nore overcome the following error ...
If screen was fully pressed for over 30 seconds (example in pocket or in cover and yes the screen is off then!) the device hangs. so i am litteraly living with a device that needs to breath!
lately i changed to the WWE version of the rom and to my surprise the problem disappeared only to a different kind of problem ... the device freezes if i had vibration on and recieved a call that i didnt pick up in 10 seconds.
so an unofficial service center (no official ones near) could not diagnose the erlier error but thought it might be a buffer issue related to rom (despite i tried to reproduce the problem on a friend's device but faild).
yet they managed to refaire the new problem (vibration causing a freeze) in WWE upgrade to faulty battery that loses connectivity apon the shake (when i reinstalled Arabic version the problem was solved so i guess that too is not the case!)
now i managed to upgrade to unofficial roms but what i hated the most were taking the transcriber application out (which i heavily rely on!) , keyboard issues (both arabic and english) or tried to apply HTC touch flo mechanism which is buggy compared to spb-plus' (which i prefaire) and would prevent it (spb-plus that is) from working.
now if anyone could just diagnose my problem with the Arabic rom screen issue ? or even note me if i realy need to change the batteries (they try to convince me that the type has been legacied and they wanna sell it to me for a fortune) ? or that i have a faulty hardware and should throw the thing ? i would appreciate it .
