I was curious to find out if it's possible to use a bluetooth mouse from Belkin in the XDA II. What do you guys think? Useable, hackable?
You would need some software that makes a cursor, and some HID implementation, and make all this work together..
My only question is: WHY?
Why would you want such a thing?
I tried it with a MS Mouse, MDA can find it, but no connect , lack of Pin.
Mouse is a HID Device, think thinl MDA cannot connect to such devices.
I tried to use the mouse as a ramotecontrol for the PDA, but found no way.
what is HID? also what is SIP?
HID == human interface device
sip not sure i cant see anywhere in this thread where sip is written
so in what relation was it you heard sip
i mean if it was something your dentist said it would prob have a different meaning than if it was your machanic

SIP = Soft Input Panel ie. onscreen keyboard

When taking notes with the folding keyboard, it is quite an inconvenience to pick up the stylus, hop over to look up something, then go back to taking notes. a mouse next to the keyboard would make life much easier.
I also have the MS BT Mouse and would love a HID profile for the MDAII

OK OK!
Now you have a BT mouse meant for your PPC from THINK OUTSIDE, here:-

I'll get a pre-sample this weekend.
I'll try to make a short-review of this. And post it for you guys.
cool, now all we need is a bluetooth USB host hub and we're sorted! 8) lol

I would want it because I have gota Bluetooth keyboard which means I can word process when out and about when needs be - but the use of a proper mouse would make this a lot easier - after all - if my hands are on the keyboard, I don't want to be constanty getting the stylus or using the buttons as I am no longer holding the device.

Can anyone tell me if this works before I jump in. I have an MDAIII and I havent' upgraded the rom at all. I have tried not alter anything that may make it worse! I use a BT keyboard and would adore a mouse too
Does enyone has patched version of thinkoutside driver ? For WM5...
Hi!
I can't find it on Stowaway website for WM5 bt mouse driver.
Anybody can point me the link to download or could somebody upload the driver here?
Thank you
Right here - http://www.thinkoutside.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=17&ModelID=295
Many have had some trouble getting this to run right, search for some threads about it to find the some hints to make it run.
Was jusssssss gonna post this link. Thanks for posting it galt. Its not that hard to find actually, its there on the support page
RE
Thanks for the link
What about Other Bluetooth Mouse ???
I have a manhattan mouse Bluetooth mini mouse
http://www.manhattan-support.com/driver-manhattan-mice.shtml
looks exactly like the Think Outside Mouse - @ 1/3 of the price and it works flawlessly with Windows XP HID but not in WM5
Who do we Ask to get a generic driver for this
The Closest I got was a driver on http://cabfiles.net but only for WM2003SE and i have a WM 5 Universal
Maybe I should ask for a WM2003Se port for Universal ...

let's face it: X1's optical joystick sucks. Could it be possible to port Omnia's optical mouse pointer software to X1? I think it would be great to have -as an example- a pointer when using Opera, instead of fixed scrolling
How does the one on Omnia work?

I am agree of point ~ the optial joystick on X1 is REALLY SUCK ~ it is useless since i am using the finger mouse on Samsung i780 before and it is able to switch to 4way navigator for daily use and mouse for internet browsing.
I think the finger mouse on i780 and optical joystick on X1 exactly is a same thing because it gave me the same feeling.
Now the X1 just missing the pointer software and driver. I hope someone can extract the software and driver in i780 ROM.
hi!
well, neither my Stowaway bluetooth keyboard, nor Resco Explorer can use Bluetooth on the HD2. For resco there is the Irda/Obex workaround, the keyboard can be used as a regular HID keyboard.
But the latter has the problem that I can not use the specific layout of my keyboard, where the stowaway driver would allow that, but doens't recognize the stack.
any idea how to resolve this?
is it possible to install another bluetooth stack?
is it possible to use a differend keymap for HID keyboards?
thanks
Bernhard
That's strange. My Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard paired straight away and everything works except for the function keys that required additional software.
What happens when you try to pair it?
it does work, but I have a german keyboard, german keyboards have a different layout.
if I could use Stowaways software (that doesn't work with the HD2s bluetooth stack) I could switch to the german stowaway layout.
but if I just pair them, windows mobile uses the US layout, and thus a lot of keys simply don't work or produce wront chars (like if you set your PC keyboard layout to German, the same would happen but the other way round).
so, there would be two solutions:
change the keyboard layout for the HID device
make the stowaway software work on the HD2
;(
hi,
i tried a freedom universal keyboard2, with the same result. the keyboard software dosent work on hd2, and when i pair it via bt, i get a english layout.
i poked around the registry and found the entry HKLM\Drivers\HID\ClientDrivers\Keyboard\DLL. i think the kbdhid.dll is the one wich is responsable for the key mapping. but i'm not sure about that.
regards mad.
I am having the same issue with my German iGo Stowaway keyboard and the Touch Pro 2 (running a wm 6.5.3 ROM). Did you already find any solution to that?
