Software request: Samsung Omnia mouse pointer on X1 - XPERIA X1 General

let's face it: X1's optical joystick sucks. Could it be possible to port Omnia's optical mouse pointer software to X1? I think it would be great to have -as an example- a pointer when using Opera, instead of fixed scrolling

How does the one on Omnia work?

I am agree of point ~ the optial joystick on X1 is REALLY SUCK ~ it is useless since i am using the finger mouse on Samsung i780 before and it is able to switch to 4way navigator for daily use and mouse for internet browsing.
I think the finger mouse on i780 and optical joystick on X1 exactly is a same thing because it gave me the same feeling.
Now the X1 just missing the pointer software and driver. I hope someone can extract the software and driver in i780 ROM.

Would like to use touchscreen AND hard keyboard together!

Does anyone know if and how I can use the touchscreen when the phone is open and I'm using the keyboard?
I like the keyboard, but some functions are not reachable and the touchscreen is disabled when phone is open. Can anyone help please?
Re: Would like to use touchscreen AND hard keyboard together
An alternative to the stick and the touchscreen is a Bluetooth mouse. I have the Think Outside mouse and it is very good. It comes with drivers for Windows Mobile. (And it works very well under Windows XP as well. XP's has built-in HID drivers.)
Practice, Practice, Practice
I put the stylus between my index and middle finger when I'm typing so that I can quickly use it when I need to. The keyboard is missing \ and highlighting, jumping, saying OK, etc. all happen much faster with the stylus. Not a perfect solution but OK.

Can you confirm that your touchscreen is still working when you've opened your phone and are using the keyboard. My touchscreen isn't working anymore as soon as I open the phone. I'm looking for a way to use both functionalities at the same time!
thanks
Ys
Yes, I can use both, T-Mobile MDA

Never heard of the touchscreen not working when the keyboard is open. What wizard do you have?

using fingerprint reader to scroll

here's a thought, wouldn't it be great if you could use the fingerprint reader for scrolling up/down and accross web pages just by rolling your thumb over it?
i know this is possible as i once saw a video of the Toshiba Portege G900 fingerprint sensor being used in the same way.
anyone know if this is doable on the shift? the sensor is so conveniently placed for scrolling, it'd be great. Could it be mapped as if it was the middle wheel on a mouse?
See video: http://www.expansys.com/video.aspx?id=227&i=146074
it's not a great video, but pe patient cos the device crashes at the beginning...

of course, why not....but why not use the G-Sensor and scroll by tilting?
yeh, you could, but i've always thought that to be a bit of gimmick... wheras the fingerprint sensor is so close to the right thumb when you're holding it, i think it'd be really useful.
Then why not using the pad instead? You can use an enlarged zone for the scrolling, and use it's border for it. It's a full synaptic device, even if hot borders are reduced to such a small size by default.
In XP (on the shift) with no fingerprint software or drivers installed, the fingerprint reader acts as a mouse, moving the cursor around. It's quite erratic though.

[IDEA] Finger Mouse.

Hi,
How to have a finger mouse like omnia on Diamon or Touch Pro?
Lele.
i would like to see that on diamond as well as u do !!
I had the Samsung Epix which is the Omnia with a hard-keyboard.
The fingermouse was AWESOME for navigating the OS. After a while you learn to "double-fist" it. I would use one thumb to work the optical sensor while the pointer-finger on my other hand for scroll-flicking, some clicking, press-n-hold menu, and close button.
Being able to use 2 hands really helps alot especially since our screens can not take multiple screen inputs at once. Cool thing is that the touchpad is multitouch capable.

I know! I wish someone would make the touchpad a mouse. Or allow us to use it in games or something.
There is a piece of mouse software floating around.. Have tried it but cannot remember the name...
Google might be your friend.
How was the mouse software you tried?
theirs "fake mouse" i think it's called, it's free but personally not very good
the one i use and love is "VirtuaMouse" you can adjust the size of the curser to extra small so it is amazing in remote desktop
you can probably find a "trial" if you look around
otherwise just check their site and i think they have an official one there

[Q] Winmo emulating bluetooth keyboard?

OK, this is going to sound weird, but i have a Touch Diamond, and a Touch Pro. The Diamond is my daily driver since it works better (some problems with the TP), but I do like to use emulators, but the capacitive d-pad is RUBBISH for gaming. What I'm wanting to do is find a program or something for my TP that will allow it to emulate a generic bluetooth keyboard, so I can use the Touch Pro keyboard to type/as game input on my Diamond.
Thanks.

Keyboard + mouse for games?

I just paired my bluetooth keyboard and mouse to my N7. I should have tried this sooner. It's an awesome experience.
Is there a way to play games like Dead trigger using the keyboard and mouse like a PC FPS game?
Curious - Which keyboard and mouse are you using?
Im curious too how could i use my keyboard and mouse as gamepad, in dead trigger all i can do is move with WASD buttons.
when i try to customize gamepad in settings. but i cant change anything from the defaults.. and that is frustrating.
Phon eis SGS3 mouse is microsoft bluetooth notebook mouse 5000 and keyboard is microsoft bluetooth mobile keyboard 6000.
Its really awesome using my xbox controller with onlive and any other game that supports it. I would love a true list of games that support different inputs.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
This app should do the trick. Need root though. I haven't tried it myself yet but looks awesome. I wish there was a way for devices with hdmi out to actually turn off the tablet while playing on a large screen

check this video out of someone mapping it for a fps:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eiiL3gaDnU
I'd like to hear someone's review specifically for a fps and how well the mouse handles. It doesn't look like he has the sensitivity that high and I'm not sure if it can be set so you can do a quick-flick 180's.
anyone get it working?

I used ShareKM and then, for dead trigger, this is the default weird configuration :
1) Directional keys to move around.
2) I,k,j,l to look around.
3) a,d to switch weapons.
4) 7 to use ironsight, 8 to reload and 9 to fire.
Too bad cant change the configuration of this. Also, I seem to have some trouble using the new app "TinCore Mapper".
