Hello!
Does anybody know a way to add speed dial shortcuts on the today screen?
Earlier I had a SonyEricsson P910i with a handy software that let me put shortcuts on the screen for dialing and sms'ing to specified contacts.
I am using SPB Pocket Plus to add other shortcuts in the today screen and I saw in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26468 that "vijay555" seems to have found a way to create shortcuts for dialing that he puts on today screen with cLaunch!
Any ideas?

Why didn't you just ask me for the program!?
I'll try to upload it later today.
I used to use Tracker (I assume that's what you refer to?) and missed the functionality, and really dislike the call prog on the PocketPC. So I made my own shortcut prog. There's probably another VERY simple way to do it, but with mine, you just pass it a command line and it'll dial for you.
Have you seen Wisbar desktop advance? It's moving towards Tracker type functionality.
Will keep you posted.

I suppose I could have asked you directly vijay555, don't know why I didn't actually but anyway thanks man!
On my P 910i I used a prog called "Handy Day" wich added a WM lookalike todayscreen to it, as I said it had that dialing function implemented.
Ill have a look at Wisbar desktop Advance...

Guys, I've posted programs to quick dial and SMS from shortcuts
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26972
Tell me how it goes!
V
Thanks man!
That is absolutely brilliant!
I really enjoy those little tweaks that improve the functionality of the Magician, this is without any doubt one of them!

Hey guys.
I cannot get this application to run on my dual! It just loads a black screen. It works though because I can slide to unlock it without being able to see the screen which isn't all that useful!
So is this just me?

Same problem on my Kaiser
Hi there!
I am having the exact same problem on my Kaiser phone.. :-(
Who can help?
Henk.
It's known bug with certain devices but here's a workaround disable Direct Draw:
Edit your registry, navigate to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2
Find the key DirectDraw and change the value from 1 to 0.
Funny enough on my dual I didn't have to do this tweak!
'slide' to unlock?
I assumed 'slide' to unlock was sliding the phone open..
after a couple of resets I found out that you had to 'slide' on the screen
I there really no way this to may it work with sliding the phone open,
thought this would be really nice..
Besides from this misunderstanding of mine it works fine, caller Id is very nice!

Wow.
You are actually amazing for making that work!
You know, that may be one of the best answers I have ever recieved. Thank you so much
My Wing was doing this also. I changed the name from wallpaper.gif to Wallpaper.gif and it works fine now.
Worked!
Worked fine for me; thx!
works after the registry key change, but....
It works lousy if you activate the callerID. When you get a call , the internal phone app. takes over the S2U2, and after you finish the call the screen just remained in the position of the incoming call picture of the S2U2 and you cannot do anything except soft-reset. :-(
Does anyone has an idea or suggestion?
TIA/Zohar
sorry for my stupid q:
may i know why you choose s2u2 instead of the WM6 built-in key-lock feature? just due to big wallpaper instead of the Today screen, or some other great features attracted you?
Hey good question.
I prefer it because its a sleeker interface to go with a sleek device and also mainly because it annoys iPhone users that I know.

haha.. lol
i personally like the big caller photo most. yet i still can't make up my mind on using it for long term, because now sliding out the keypad can only wake up the device but no longer unlock it. and personally i still prefer using the green/red keys to answer/reject calls, which means the built-in key-lock feature can also do.
..and one more
It seems that all the keys and everything is locked except the iCube.
This can be activated even thouth the S2 is in keylock state.

(for Sprint Touch (Vogue) and Touch Dual (Nike))
you can lock the cube as well by adding this reg key:
[HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\Disable4SpecificApp\S2U 2]
"ClassName" = "S2U2"
is the ' ' space at the end of the key name correct? 'S2U 2' or should it be 'S2U2'?

no space. just S2U2.
I have been experimenting with different cubes and at the moment my money is on FTouchSL (formerly FTouchFlo) with SCLPC++. Big thanks to the developer of FTouchSL (this is now a commercial program) and Slither2006
Please see FTouchSL and SCLPC++ threads for more info.
After quite alot of head scratching and tweaking of default settings it all works very well indeed. The TouchFlo within my current ROM is simply disabled within the FTouchSL config so doesn't conflict.
I can go into more of the detail with particular settings if others are having problems.
Does your touch keyboard lag when usign touchflosl? It lagged pretty bad for me when i had FTouchFlo installed.. so had to remove it. (e.g. letters didnt highlight when pressed on touch keyboard, etc)

Yes, I have.
I have installed SCLPC++ Cube and it works fine launching it from the installation directory.
Then I've installed FTouchSl (for the moment in trial mode)
but I'm not able to find the exact settings.
Also it seems that some conflict with ROM touchflow is present.
Since you were successful, I'll try again.
Now the SCPLC++ cube is starting well but together to the original one.
How could I disable the original cube ?

Actually I hadn't noticed what happens as I tend to use the touch keyboard with a finger and not the stylus... anyway my keyboard works fine with no perceptable lag and the correct colour change.

I have registered my FTouchSL but I know some of the settings are disabled in the Trial version. The main FTouchSL settings I have include:
Timeout = 500ms
Scrolling - disable with TouchFlo
Gesture timeout = 300ms
Launch zone dimensions: Left=45, Right=40, Top=80, Bottom=100
Up-Down gesture = Launch application: SCLPC++
Active corner delay = 500ms
Exceptions: SCPPC++ (scrolling, gestures and active corners disabled)

With the ROM I am using (see signature) there is a utility in Settings called ROM Settings. One of the Tabs on this is for HTC TouchFLo and I have unchecked Scroll and Cube here.
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunatly no such setting is available in the original rom and the original cube is still alive.
Here is the registry change to disable the cube:
HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings change EnableCube from 1 in 0
Now the SCPPC++ cube works well. But moving the finger from up to down, the cube disappears, but it still remains in background.
Is the same for you ?

Great you found the registry settings, I started looking too but hadn't found it. There is one near it for disabling TouchFlo scrolling aswell.
Your other point... yes the cube does stay open in the background so it appears rather than fading up from the bottom when you first bring it up. I wonder if this is by design? I'll post this query in the SCLPC++ forum.
SCLPC++ conflict with TFloCube
I had this same issue. Just add the SCLPC++ exe to the exclusion list in TFlow configurator it will solve the issue. No need to edit the reg
It's found there are several issues when running S2U2 on Diamond. An intermidiate fix is that:
1. Disable DirectDraw will prevent the occasional blank screen;
2. Enable NoBackLightCheck (it's only valid in v1.05 or later; create a DWORD value with name NoBackLightCheck and value 1 under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2; restart iLock2) will make IdleStart works again.
Known issues:
1. CallerID does not work.
2. Home key cannot be locked.
3. "S2U2 Settings" has error when it's scrolling about half the way.
UPDATE on 29 July:
A new version of S2U2 v1.10 is released at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412418.
For optimal usage with Diamond, make sure you grab the VGA version & turn on "Don't double check Backlight" at the S2U2 Settings.
thnx A_C for the info, already try to solve it but hope you can come out a diamond version soon....by the way s2v zoom function also not able to use on diamond any solution??
Had the same problem with zooming, did not found the bugs with s2u2 yet but if you say soo... Is there a version for Daimond of s2u2 en s2v coming??
Greetz and thanx for your wonderfull applications!
thank you for yr concern. the only thing that real bother me is my diamond always answering my calls due to the pressure from the belt case. i realy hate that. i miss s2u2 soooooo much. please do something. no need of gifs or fancy clocks. only a slide to unlock and caller id that works with the diamond. please!...
"ExceptionEXE4"="cprog.exe"
"SafeMode"=dword:00700000
for callerID, if you use advanceconfig to disable the phone skin, then it works! But your diamond-style dialpad will disappear.
I just installed S2U2 on my diamond.
When my device is locked, i can access my device when i press the home key. so basically, it is not ''locked''.
any idea how to disable all hardware buttons during locked up?

Same issue for me... I use the TF3D weather...
I don't know why my Diamond touch screen was disable when I lock it with the new version 1.10b? Cannot slide to unlock? I've uninstall my older version, delete all the file/ reg. and install the new version. Can anyone told me what to do? Thank you so much and I love this software very much!!!
Recently, I've been playing around with the Diamond sensor APIs seeing how things work, and thinking of ways to apply them to apps.
As you may well know, iContact has very long lists in it, which can be a tad tedious to scroll through if you have loads of contacts, so I've added support for both the touch "wheel", and the gsensor.
This is based on iContact 0.91
To use:
You can scroll with the wheel like iPods click wheels. Clockwise goes down the list, counterclockwise goes up the list.
You can scroll with the gsensor by tapping the centre button and then tilting the device up or down to scroll up or down the list. Releasing the centre button will stop the scrolling.
Currently, landscape (probably) won't work with the gsensor.
Thanks to supbro, truburt and larna for iContact, and Scott Seligman for how to use the sensors.
Since iContact is GPL, you can grab the source code as well as a cab below!
Changes:
iContact BE now supported as well!
0.91.1 - An updated scrolling mechanism to make a steeper tilt move faster.
New version with better scrolling now available.
how i install it ?

Download the 0.91.1 cab file, copy it to your device, and then run it from file explorer.
would you be willing to consider it for truburt's edition?

If I can get the source, it shouldn't be too hard.
Quick Q:
Can i just install the iContact.Sensors cab and keep my current iContact version but adding gsensor capability to it?
Thanks very much.

No. This uninstalls the previous one, and then installs the new one.
I will test it right now
Thank you, will test it right away!
Looks promising
I tried it, but it makes scrolling in iContacts imho very nervous. Re-installed original iContacts ....

Is the normal scrolling (i.e. finger scrolling) affected? It shouldn't be as I haven't touched the code for that!
If I understand the first post correctly I simply have to place my thumb on the center sensor(not depress) and tilt and the scrolling should begin?
If that is correct can you expand that capability into any windows application?
Maybe incorporating something along with Gcontroller here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429569

That is correct. I think creating a system wide service may prove more difficult, as in iContact, all it does is simulate a key down event with VK_DOWN or VK_UP. This may not be quite what's wanted depending on the application.
I've been looking at ways of expanding butler, and so far I've built in screen rotation, launching applications for every event and one or two other tricks, but system scrolling could be another one to add.
hi,
if you want scroll in iContact do this:
Create a key and value, as below
HKLM/Software/HTC/SmartTouch/iContact
(String Value) ClassName = iContact
(DWORD Value) Mode = 4
(DWORD Value) WheelCount = 2
easy to create, work fine for me....
V.
have fun

That works with the scroll wheel, but not with the gsensor. And, since I needed some of the scroll wheel things to be able to have the gsensor working well, I decided I may as well integrate both functions.
hi,
yes you're right, it work only with the wheel....
It's a ery simple solution to scroll with wheel in many soft, i use Burt icontact insted icontact 0.9 so your solution do not work for me, my solution is not perfect but for people whose just want wheel scroll it's perect and easy and it works on every soft if you have the name of the soft's CLASS.
But your solution is cool for people who use iContact 0.9.
congratulation
V.
brilliant idea, like the way you have done it.
You have managed to improve a already great program!
thanks very much
Is it possible without the touching the center?
