I have just installed Pocket PC 2003 on my pocket pc. However I cannot get internet explorer or Messenger to work. I am tried to set my GPRS for (O2 -UK) and the phone appears to be connected. However, when I run messenger I get the following message:
Logon to MSN messenger service failed because the service could not be found. please make sure that you are connected to the internet.
When I try to browse the net.. I get "page cannot be found" message.
Any Ideas guys - What am I doing wrong?
Can someone confirm how to set up the O2 uk connections in Pocketpc 2003.

With AT&T at least in the US, you need to remove the proxy server...I did that after getting the same error message & now it works!
I want to run my ICQ in my company whilst connecting my xda to the cradle from my PC via internet, but we have a proxy server.
How would I go about to config my internet setting?
What is the difference between "The Internet", and "Work" settings.

How does one disable internet passthru on activesync 4.1 and above?

in activesync, file connection settings.
change "this computer is connected to:..." from "internet" to "Work Network".
That doesnt work, it just nags me about not being able to find a server assigned IP address

Are you trying to connect via wi-fi or GPRS?
Have you tried other programs that require connection to function? (Like weather programs, Google Maps, Windows Livesearch, etc.)
Have you recently installed any other programs?
Have you mucked with your connections settings to try to access the internet via some other method, and didn't change them back?
We need more information to help you...

Do you get this message ONLY after a Url is entered in the address bar in PIE? Tap on something in your internet history list and see if you get the same message. menu>history..see screenhot.
No Opera, WLM & other Internet suite working fine...
Its also clear the history but still same
check via GPRS, Active Sync & also Wireless
also uninstall all the application & then I try but still not working
Call your phone service provider. They should be able to help you troubleshoot this more effectively, as it is probably a connection setting. Don't call them from the phone you're troubleshooting though, because you may need to reset it during the troubleshooting.
Anyone have a problem with getting their programs to work if they have used the automatic wizard to configure their internet? My email always says error synchronizing unless i set it to use the "MEdianet" instead of the default "The Internet" connection. OctroVideo and other programs also don't work properly. They think that there is no internet connection.
