Very strange BUG - Touch Cruise ROM Development

Today I was very suprised about behavior of my Orbit2.
After wake up of device, when I tried start any applications which located on SD card, I get error message.
I run file explorer and tried to see SD card. On first time, all was good, but I cant see directory /Program Files
After reboot all good.
What is it???

sounds like a issolated issue. might be bad drivers though or needs some reg tweaking because this sounds like un stable communication between the device and sd. could also be a sd issue. if it doesnt come back then dont worry about it.

What i see here is SD corruption...
There's a thread about it:

Anyway, go on. Dont annoy me by your stupid posts.

Henry_Lee,
You better start backing up your sd card. Even if resetting restored the index, you never know , if it happens again you might not be so lucky and end up loosing data.
The HTC Artemis had a similar problem which was corrected by a patch. What i don't know is if that patch could be applied to the Cruise also. Maybe it’s worth some investigation…

wm2003 4.01.12 deleted my files?

after installed it on my t-mobile mda n' passed several difficult trouble on radiostack, this os such a great thing that i expect to figure on my pda. but, later i realized that the os didn't fit my expectation when its began to erase my files on the sdcard 'misteriously'.
a thing that make me become so so bad, the size of files doesn't match with the used area on the card, what kind of trouble is this? they erased my files but the space didn't change..
is there any idea to get my files back before i'm goin' to format it?
how to avoid it in the future?
thx for read it..
The only way to avoid it is to write protect the memory card by moving the slider switch to lock position.
slider switch...
thank's for ur answer, it migth be useful, but can you point the position of the slider? whether it's.on the pda or on memory? l'm using visipro mmc 256mb, n' i don't see any slider on lt.

Sorry, I forgot to advise you to install Registry Editor Program on your PPC first. (e.g. PHM Reg edit)
hi,
it's quite good, i alo thought that but i had installed "regeditce" prog so the file doesn't associate .
I'd installed the PHM as u mentioned above and ran the SD_fix but it didn't react (install or import..ect), it just opened the PHM program. Hence, i dont know whether it's imported to the registry or not now i'm waiting and hope the problem will be solved.
Thank you all
Unfortunately, it doesn't work well, after running that file, i installed two programs on storage card (HandMap and E-dictionary). Then I tried to soft reset and my MMc card was erased. oh, what can i do now ?

Sorry sonie_vespie I can’t help you better than I did.
Where is the SD_fix.reg file
Hi,
How can I get the SD_fix.reg file? Thanks
hi,
the file is above
I think that the .reg file is exported form a key in REGISTRY, but when i run it, it isn't imported to the defined key exactly so the card is still erased
Help me, thanks 'coz i like the 4.01.16 of T-Mobile
hi all,
Let use "Resco registry" to import SD_fix to Registry. It's okay now

Just joined the forum..newbie to Xperia..some quick help

hi guys,
normally on PC i consider myself a geek but when it comes to my phone..i dont know how to maximise its performance or do tweaks.
hope to get wisdom from the forum.
just one quick question..when i download the .cab installer..where do i place it in the phone?
can i execute it from any location?
You can place the cab anywhere you like. Most likely location is my documents. Then just run it by clicking it with the stylus.
Yes you can place the downloaded cab file anywhere in your phone and open it from there. it will install once you click on it. Some programs work when they are installed at the storage card and some don't.
a cab installer is like an setup.EXE on windows place where you want it then install it!
simple as 1 2 3
thats cool.
very easy to install the apps then.
thanks a ton. looking forward to use my X1 like a pro now
I made a cab-folder on my storage card where I keep all my cab's for what I have on my phone. So when I'm have to hard reset/upgrade my phone I have all my cab's for a new install.......smart?.....I think so

That's true. You don't even need to a single click w/ UC.
For Cab, you can have it install to yr PPC w/ one right click on desktop w/ CabViaActiveSync. A must software for me.
Once you have installed a program can the cab file be deleted?
they used to but I believe that changed when wm5 came out

Yes you can, but it is always a good idea to keep a copy of all CABs on your PC/Laptop in case you need to re-install after a hard reset etc.

leo ce log tool - problem solved

After emailing back and forth with the HTC support team about the Leo's "too loud ear piece" and after asking me a million questions they finally sent me the Debug tool 3.4 to run it in my Leo and send them the logfile.
Well the stupid application it's been running for 20 hours and never seems to stop. It did create some 20 DM files on my SD card which can't be seen in explorer anymore. I put it into a card reader to see what;s happening.
I hard reseted my Leo to stop the debugging tool but no use, I reflashed but nu use the darn thing still runs and kills my battery! WIFI doesn't work either!!!
What should I do?

Take out the memory card and hard reset the device. That should at least stop it running.
Then, copy everything you want off your memory card and reformat it.

PS debug tool 3.4 is what's causing the problem!
Are you doing a hard reset without your sd card inserted?..
If the answer is yes, then try..
format your sd card, then flash a new rom using goldcard method.... it is virtually impossible for the file to stay storaged in the sd (after format) or the device (beacuse u did format it when doing the flashing process).
In makes sense but!

I know hard reset should have helped, but try letting the phone empty and then remove the battery for a couple of hours-day, then try it agian.
Mabey I don't get the question but.. how come it's still working with the debugging tool while the phone is flashed? The debugging tool is prob. placed on a special sector of the main memory normaly not accessed by a rom, the program it self doesn't run from normal memory sectors, so you might have a try with a SPL update/overwright. If all fails send it back, why would htc give you this program? they allways say send it back and you'll get a new one?...
please post the tool, might give some insight after disasm. MFG area is interesting.
It's been written to special memory place.
Again, please post the tool you were given
how are you doing a hard reset?, are you using the clean memory tool software on your device, or are u pressing vol up and down simultaneously while powering on the device...... I just dont get how the program stays in memory after hard reset, even after flashing.

I've attached the toll. I finally got rid of it by being able to rerun the program (which i prior tried a million times) and rewrite the parametres to "0" instead of 435 and 401. Give it a go if you know what you're doing and you can read log files.

G
You got rid of it. I edit out the post
Solution:
First backup your SD, after format with FAT32 .... reinstall your ROM and after insert your SD.
got dmmnit, glad u got rid of it, maybe we can learn how it.doez stick to the rom like that n use it in other apps like smartprotect. congrats!:
hi, do u mind sharing how u got rid of it?
I run this tool too, but after have no way to stop first try to read forum. Solution to stop program already is given from wmfreak. It is not need to make hard reset or to reformat SD card. Only things to do is to run program one more time and:

[Q] Cannot start HaRET anymore?

Hey all,
When I tap my HARET_PHOTON7227.exe file that was delivered with CardSharings latest package, I get the error "The file 'HARET_PHOTON7227.exe' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."
Formatting the SD card didn't work, neither did using the HARET.exe file that was delivered with Cotulla's port...
Help!
Thanks in advance!

I don`t think its a problem with the executable itself. Did you get that with your own rom or a stock one?
Did you read my info of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12414206&postcount=9
I met the problem before.all the execute programs can not be launched and gave me the same information.neither a soft reset nor another sdcard worked.at last,I made a hard reset.it be resolved.good luck!
Indeed, all executables failed. I have hard reset my ROM (not a stock one) and now it works.
Thanks!
Interesting I have had this problem twice, a few months ago. But that was with an older version of Nsourm rom, of course no idea if it was something in the rom or another application that I installed...
Seems like a problem that occurs once in a while with custom ROMs... But now we know what to do

Maybe a silly remark: I run your ROM too, never had an issue with haret before. But yesterday I got the same remark: what happened is the Storage Card2 issue, that the name of the storage card has changed from storage card to storage card2. This is an issue I haven't seen often lately. But it would be quite difficult not seeing this I guess.
