I have installed bepe 0.65 and noticed that my GPS led flashes orange and not blue.
The led flashes blue when I reboot but maybe it is the bluetooth. Any way to change it to blue by editing the registry or similar?
Thanks.
It's supposed to be orange!
I know it is supposed to be orange but prefer it blue like in my P3300.
Nueled does not work.

Only if you can used soldering iron.
It hardware feature.
Why a hardware feature if it can flash blu when using BT?
Not so easy cuz it's just 1 tri-color led.
Anyway BlueTooth = blue led
GPS = orange led
WiFi = green led

No offence but why the f*ck would you care if the LED colour is orange when you are using the GPS ? I assume the screen with the roadmap is more important then the colour of the LED ?
Again, sorry for the f word but come on what a question
What's the point of adding such comments to a thread? If you are not interested texarcana, just skip it.
One of the good things of HTC devices is the possibility to adapt the pda to your tastes and needs, and I like the LED to be blu, just like my P3300. So please leave it, unless you have some constructive proposals to make.
I want a white LED
i actually somewhat agree with texarcana, odd request. anyways, i did see software out there to set what the color of the light should be for different functions. the software was for the kaiser if i'm not mistaken (don't quote me). and i never tried it, i only saw it. i'm sure if you do a search on this forum or on google you will find it.
check out this thread:

i haven't personally tried it but I think it's what you were looking for. i think there was another app out there as well that also did this. try a search.
Yes I know it's an odd question but... it's possible to simply switch off that damned xmas tree of leds?
Yes, I prefere darkness...

Dude, your memory is playing tricks on you. P3300 LEDs were the same as TC.
i don't know. check out those links and see if the software works. i'm not sure what the software's compatibility is with the Cruise, so you might want to read up on that a bit first before trying it. you really would hate to HR your device over some LEDs.

To turn off all of the flashing LEDs (Blue LED from coming on with Bluetooth, Green for phone signal, Yellow for charging, etc), go to:
1. Hkey_Local_Machine/Drivers/Builtin/AllLEDMgr
1a. Change the Index value below it to "0" (by default it is set to "1")
Soft Reset and the LEDs will not turn on.
There is also an "LEDMgr" key at the same level, but it does not seem to have any effect.
This is a variant for the Magician of the original Blue angel thread:

Enjoy! (Finally, I can sleep with the jam on the end-table next to me at night ;-) )
I'm waiting for the hack/program that makes my LED pulsate instead of blink, like some laptops when in suspend mode.
Trick included in version 3.6.0 of Tweaks2k2 released today!
More info at www.tweaks2k2.com/downloads.htm
That's how I like it... grabbing the infos for free and integrating it into a commercial product.
The same has been with NetFilter code already in hardware appliances - they've been charged for it!
You should at least offer the original poster a license free of charge for gaining from his efforts.
Actually he did
Chatty,
I contacted Ctitanic to let him know about this key. He offered me a free license days ago, and I have been testing the new version for him. I wanted those who were uncomfortable hacking the registry to have access to this.
Sorry we didn't let you know first. Open mouth, remove foot ;-)

it´s a no written policy of me to give free copies to those sending me hacks that are included in Tweaks2k2. If I find a little time I will write it down at my site so every body knows about it. But for now let me write it here
I GIVE FREE COPIES OF MY PROGRAM TO THOSE WHO SEND ME REGISTRY HACKS IF THOSE HACKS ARE APPROVED TO BE INCLUDED IN FUTURE VERSION OF THE PROGRAM.
Bummer :-(
I just verified that this registry hack also disables the vibrate function on my phone also :-(
Due to this, I'm backing off the hack (vibrate is more important to me). Doen't ask me why AllLEDMgr is controllling the vibrate function, but it is. I played with this area of the registry for a while, and couln't find a way to disable the LEDs, and have vibrate working. If anyone else does, let me know. Otherwise, I guess it's time for black electrical tape over the LED for me.
I'll let ctitanic know.

Well, I´ll add this to the list of known issues. I think that for some people the hack is good even when it disables the vibration. In another hand, you can apply the hack during the night and activate the LEDs back in the morning
Is it possible to turn of LEDs/vibrate without a soft reset?
Technically yes... you have to end the service via a system call. One would have to implement this in a tiny program. Could be useful in apps like PZP - so go and tell zendrui
I'm using the Wizard with WM5 (Norwegian ROM), and I can't seem to find the AllLEDMgr key in the registry. Is this tweak for WM5?
@pborthwick: It is for the Magician... you posted in the Magician forum! The Magician is WM2003 btw.
Is there a way to stop/disable the flashing lights, particularly the one on the right hand side of the unit?
...my wife hates them flashing and I cannot keep the device in the bedroom at night!!!
Easy one this to solve, move the wife out of the bedroom
I have been looking for a long time for registry hack or a button to disable her alltogether, or to the very least turn off the Voice/sound function, but to date I could not figure it out!!!
Is there anyone out there who can help. I am sure there are millions of men who would be willing to pay for the solution.
My god yes, im so glad im not the only one the wife goes mental with the falshing lights at night
Why not use an indellible marker to paint them out, or for a less "permanent" solution, use a couple of pieces of black insulation tape?
Cheers,
Steve.
put it in a thick winter sock to hide the flash?
Tweaks2k2 was always good at this, unfortunatly it doesn't support turning the LEDs off on the Universal yet.
I'm sure it will only be a matter of time though.

The wife cant moan at me as her phone is a samsung e720 which has a really strong blue screen glow.
Anyway if she does moan I wont let her use it in bed when she wants to check her ebay
Put it on charge, noticed last night that lights stop flashing and only orange charge light comes on and does not flash while on charge.

The bluetooth light still flashes though
Then disable bluetooth
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Builtin\AllLEDMgr" should be the control strings for the LEDs
Try to change something there
BalooDK is correct.
Whilst doing some research for VJElectrify yesterday, I came across this aswell.
I really don't recommend it, but navigate to
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Builtin\AllLEDMgr"
and rename the dll value "AllLEDMgr.dll" to "AllLEDMgr.dllVJ".
Ensure the value has been set and soft reset. Ta da! No leds.
However, highly unrecommended since you can't tell when bluetooth is on.
Obviously rename to original name to reverse this effect.
There are other less invasive ways to achieve this, but this seems to work well.
NOTE I strongly recommend you export this registry branch before modifying it. You can cause problems in this area of the registry by accident. It's also easier to just import back the old settings when the wife is out of sight!
V
I tried editing above registry value and the lights stoped.
But after a while ... The lights start flashing again ...
I really really don't understand how.
Then I tried to delete the whole "DLL" Value. After a soft reset, the lights where gone. But again back after a while ...
How is this possible. Does WM5.0 have ARR? (Automatic Registry Rebuilder
P.S. Where is the .dll in explorer? Not in my Windows or system dir.
Need to make VJSTFU-woman One day...

Hey!
me and vijay555 are trying to solve the wife problem very hard, for some time now...
It seems, that at first, the project should be renamed to "Kill wife" instead of "Kill lights".
There seems to be a solution for that...
buzz
Try applying the Gucci_HandBag_v0.5 patch. I find that it provides a temporary solution.
However, as Buzz says, we've found better results by twisting her display area back on itself a couple of times. Her buttons will seem to light up, but the rest of the unit will provide adequate functionality without the irrating bugs. Just don't forget to enable the HKLU > IHaveAnAlibi registry setting first

Hi there y'all,
my xda neo / Prophet is always blinking green while he has got an telephone-connection with my provider and i hate that blinkin light, especially in my bedroom.
Has anyone got an idea how to disable this? Is there any possibility via Registry?
Thanks for any help!
a piece of black tape perhaps?
Try
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr\Index
change the value to 0

I used LED Toggle which I attached. It works fine.
You do have to watch out though: disconnect your phone from power or your computer before you activate it. Using it once stops the light and using it again turns it back on.
It looks like the effect is gone after a softreset.
And another thing: some hours after using it my phone didn't respond at all for a few minutes. The only solution was a soft reset. This has happened several times now and when I keep the light on it seems to be working normal again. I don't know if it's just my Prophet but if you encounter the same problem we know where it's coming from.

Thanks Jay, your little program works perfect. I'll see if i'll get the same problem and report it here
niketkumar, thanks for your help. I first try Jays Software, if i get the same problems i'll use your registry hack.
Thanks to both of you from my girlfriend, too - cause now it's less greener in our bedroom
So? Any news?
I stopped using the software and my phone hasn't crashed once. How's yours behaving?
Had the exact same problem, when using LED Toggle my device occasionally hangs. Since I stopped using it everything works just fine..
Man, that just sucks. I was so happy to be rid of that stupid light.
Now about that registry hack. I can find everything up to "\builtin" but the rest (AllLEDMgr\Index) doesn't exist. Do I have to create a new folder with an index file which has the value set to 0 or what?
Don't remember if I've tried the registry hack mentioned above, but I followed the thread about this issue in Modaco and tried numerous registry hacks before ending up with the only solution (that I'm aware of) that currently seems to work.
Which, unfortunately is the LED Toggle attached above, which in hand makes your device quite unstable..
So, back to the drawing board guys - hope someone finds a solution!
Just checked the corresponding thread on Modaco (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=243948&st=0) and indeed this solution is not working flawlessly on our beloved Prophets..
Why not just place it face down on your dresser at night?
this has to be one of the dumbest hack request on the site!!! do as blunt man said and put it face down if it's that annoying!

Jayxz, any of the workarounds i found generated problems so i just painted the light black. Not really the best solution but it sucked so badly
I find the green light annoying too, but i'd still like to have the orange warning when i received a msg or missed a call....
I hope that somebody could find a working solution for this
You can try the attached File i found at the MoDaCo Forum.
It works on my Prophet but some Users told that it drains the Battery

my HTC TYTN II always blinking green while he has got on phone-connection with my provider, and i love that. But now i have xperia and...no blinking on phone connection. It is possible to made it blinking when phone connection with provider is on
hello guys., still no way to use the wizard as flashlight? tnx in advance, -storm
Is this what you want?
http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJCandela
Be careful with it though. I've heard people have ruined the camera flash by over using this. Vijay555 has even modified the page to say it will damage your flash led...
Personally I just set my screen to not go off for 2 minutes, and that works as a really bright flashlight Sure, uses more power, but I"M not using it for long periods of time usually.
thanks but this isn't working for the wizard
i know vj was at working about this some months ago but i didn't receive any news about it.....so i'm guessing still no way to use our lovely wizard as torch

It always amazes me what kind of needs people have! The WIZ makes a quite expensive flashlight. Every key chain pocket flash light has better light and is more handy to use!

cheers,
my last phone was a magician. Everytime I missed a phone call a red LED (the one which shows "charging") started blinking so I could notice it at one glance.
Now I got myself a Niki (xda star, no mods except for some fixes). I set it to "blink" after a missed call in "Sounds and Notifications"-menue. But nothing happened, same thing for Messaging.
Is that different for your phones? Can I turn it on someway?
help is very much appreciated !
Where u did find settings for LED?
On my phone, it can be changed only by 3rd party programs
btw led codes are:
(Standing) Orange - Charging
(Blink middle) Orange - Missed call/message
(Blink short) Orange - Charging error
(Blink) Blue - Bluetooth on
(Blink) Green - GSM on
(Standing) Green - only OEMSBL running
(Blink) Red - Low battery
(Standing) Red - No battery
re
you cant change the LED-settings, but you can enable blinking for missed calls in "Sounds and Notifications"-Menue (Start -> Settings).
OK: I hard-reseted the device and it worked. I soft-reseted it and then it was still working.
Then I installed the following software:
Mobipocket Reader
TrueTerm
TotalCommander
SpriteBackUp
and the following fixes from this forum:
NikiSimFix by gfreek
"HTC+Touch+Dual-default-ABC" to disable abc
I soft-reseted it and it was still working. The next day it was blinking green all the time again - no red lamp notifications (charging does work and shows a red lamp)
obviously the fixes worked for the others since nobody complained about similar problems.
Anyones got an idea?
ROM: 1.31.207.12, german by o2, no mods
Type: xda star
Funny how a lot of ppl I find with a Touch Dual used to have a Magician...
I used to have one too, it just seemed like the best upgrade at the time, whithout loosing much ram/cpu.
A tip, you can also choose the colours of the led to all those settings with NUELED, here on the forum.
solved
Ok - its redicolous.
After 10 hard-resets and whatever, I figured out that by disabling "Sounds for Notifications and Programms" you also disable the LEDs. That was different for the Magician - there I had it disabled and the LEDs still worked.
@twolf: Yeah, I thinks thats the reason. though I would have preferred to keep mine if it haddnt frozen outside. I'm serious: If temp was below 5°C it just froze and I had to reset it. But the quality of the phone was superior. I cannot say that about the niki. Moreover it is slower with the same aplications compared to the magician.
But then - the niki was a lot cheaper .
cheers
btw: to all xda star owners who read that: NEVER try to install the original htc wm 6.1 update. You'll kill your phone!!! I think someone should put that into one of those sticky threads.
