Hey guys, check this out, this is news to me.

i was wondering is there any way to actually install the video drivers ourselves?
Verizon's 6800 lacks the video drivers out of the box, so does Sprints. This really sucks!!! My moto Q had better video playback then my 6800. the video's are choppy when on ytpocket (youtube pocket).

I'm not going to bad mouth the new Coreplayer 1.2, but my friend purchased it over the weekend. I was not impressed with the video resolution quality, neither could he tap into mobile YouTube video via the 3gp rtsp:// url, now he wants his money back. If you want mobile YouTube videos in crystal clear picture pixel video resolution quality, then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365248 and get the Blue-ray Screen Video Player with the H264 Decoder on board auto wizard in stereo version IMax and CineMax..........!
Yes CorePlayer is very good I am glad I bought it. Much nicer forward/reverse slide of movies.
I don't know if they have built in youtube stuff yet for coreplayer.
Technology's app (above) is also very clever and good too.
i have a friend that has a moto q and when he streams video on youtube, his videos are like clear but when it comes to mine its choppy in audio and the video is boxy.. how can i fix this.. i would wonder my video would be better since my speeds are faster than his
Hi all,
So, I'm trying to establish whether it is possible for the community to add DivX support. I see commits like these:
https://www.codeaurora.org/gitweb/q...it;h=69023cf85787ff454ce0549f532f9aecfad2ae29
https://www.codeaurora.org/gitweb/q...it;h=208bf6e29780fd15bfd0f6d6575a26ae78591378
that add at least the start of DivX support. But I haven't been able to get it to build, and even then, it's not clear to me if things like a DSP firmware image or something else (presumably proprietary) is required.
Any insights?
Edit: this was originally posted in the Development section, as it is a development question, but it has been moved to General. There is no question that many people would like Divx and other codec support. This thread was supposed to be specifically about getting Divx support in OpenMax/mm-video working.

Using a program from the market I was able to watch a 720 MKV on my nexus the picture was fine and sound was fine.
Only issue was video was delayed while sound went full speed, other then this it was awesome looking.

Re: DivX support
i don't know what app the other guy is thinking about, but you can find in the market "yxplayer" (trial) and with it you can play at least videos like avi etc etc kn your N1. i think it wilk be hard to find a full free app for that goal. if you find, post here the name please.

LG Snapdragon 2.1 handset touts DivX playback, I wonder if it's a software decoder that can be ported?
Hi All,
I have noticed a disturbing trend on my new Note 3. The streaming video playback is pretty terrible with just about everything except youtube. Has anyone else experienced this or do I likely have a bad unit? Thanks.

This is sort of expected behavior as apps need to be updated to utilize the Note 3's hardware decoder otherwise it has to be decoded in software which is slower and more battery consuming. What apps and what codec is the video encoded in?
Hmmm it seems strange that poor web video playback would be expected on a device targeted toward video consumers. I have encountered this with every streaming video I have tried to play in both Chrome and the built-in browser, with the exception of Youtube videos.
Have you tired Dice Player? Watching Pacific Rim 1080p right now
Only choppy video is from YouTube. I downloaded a few 1080p movies and trailers and they run flawlessly. So I'm assuming it's the youtube app needing to be updated as well as what exothermic video apps. Mx player works fine as well as the stock player

I just recently purchased the G2 and I've noticed some pretty poor performance when streaming video. I've tried both the youtube and Netflix apps and it doesn't look like it's HD quality at all. I've come from the iphone 5 where streaming in HD looks incredible. AND with the specs this phone has I would expect it to be capable of streaming even better. I tested the HTC one, g2, and S4 in the Verizon store and they all seemed to stream video pretty poorly. Is this just an android thing or am I crazy? I have a 720p and 1080p video stored on my phone and the quality is no where near that. I have the Nexus 7 and the quality on that is just amazing which makes me think it's not an android thibg. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

YouTube has always looked better for me with quality files compared to Netflix. I have not been able to get Netflix to stream true HD even with a solid signal. Google video does exceptionally well. Using my own files, I get beautiful HD playback.
Is it the video player or the actual video itself?
I don't stream Youtube too often, but I thought something was seriously broken (software wise) when the videos looked low quality. I tried watching through a browser and there appeared to be no difference.
After several low quality videos, I just recently came across a video that offered really clear quality so I'm going to assume that it was poor quality uploads for the previous videos I watched.
