Upgrade Imate K-Jam to windows mobile 6

I want to install windows mobile 6 on my Imate K-jam.
Is this possible?
If yes from where I can get ROM and steps to install it?
Both IPL and SPL is 2.16

Ok first of all plz tell if ur k-jam is sim/cid unlocked,if not,than do u know the method how to unlock sim/cid ?
cuz to upgrade to wm6,u require ur k-jam to be sim/cid unlock,u r presently running wm5 on ur device. To check if it's sim/cid locked or unlocked,just follow the below thread,read and fully understand,download the WST TOOL,verify the status of ur device than proceed further:-

Im in a country where the only internet access is through a collective proxy which rules rapidshare out completely... any ideas wheres i can find the button rom etc not on rapidshare?

Yes! Although a G4 phone cannot be CID unlocked like a G3 device,but however,it can be upgraded to wm6 through 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL' methods.You can read all about this and the procedure to apply and upgrade your G4 phone in the threads 'SpftSPL' & "HardSPL' as stickies in the G4 forum or follow this link :-

T-mobile messaging
I have a K-Jam running on T-mobile. When I flashed to WM6, I could not get my emails thanks to T mobiles funky system. I had to downgrade to the tmobile WM5 to configure. Any way around this issue?

How to FIX INVALID MODEL ID after bad flashing

I change the rom and Advantage it´s broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The error is ERROR 244 INVALID ID
i have flashed my unlocked athena x7500 with rom 6.1 by irius. the update breaks at 98%.
now i have only pixels on screen, and nothing happens.
in the Bootloadr following:

Explain a little more by 'changing ROM'!

I was entering a rom and I was blocking the Athena by making a reset everything returned to normal but I can not enter another rom because I get this error.
As we enter the ATHENA in Bootloader I get:

IPL-V1.00
, @ MFG
SPL-3.50.OliNex
Missing data?

What ROM are you coming from? What ROM did you attempt to install? How are you trying to install it?
I'm still a little confused by 'blocking the Athena by making a reset'
If you are attempting to reflash your device to a different ROM, make sure you follow the instructions posted around the site.
Are you downgrading? Using cmonex downgrader....... I hope I can help but I need a little more information from you on whats going on.
Or maybe someone else can chime in if they get it!!!!

cmonex has a automated fix for that, i think its under upgrading fourm

Irus, just to take advantage of this learning opp. What did Montecristo do to the device (or try)? What happen to it?

I had installed the rom iRUs, then installed the new rom taxist and 98% were blocking ...
Try to re install and continues to bug me.
Please, my English is not very good ... some help ...

It seems that you did not read taxists instructions that it is for SPL 3.5 only
Why don't you try flashing AP3
Edit:
sorry bit of confusion with what you have done.
Were you on SPL 3.5 originally?
Did you use Cmonexs downgrade file after the failed Taxist flash?
If you did then trying AP3 for SPL 1.XX should work.

I had the spl 3.5 when installing this ROM.

if you already managed to screw the modelid, the downgrader won't help, because it only reads the current information (of modelid and wifi) and transfers it to the right place when downgrading.

If you use router, the number is there....

Few questions:
How do you mess up the modeID and wifi anyway? Is it flashing to many ROMs? Does this automatically happen with the upgrade to spl 3.5? How does this happen?
Second, I have ran across my the mac address....but I'm having a blank....where can you find that at?

Hi there, to everyone can someone help me out how to do the steps on upgrading my I-Mate KJAM from Windows mobile 5 to Windows mobile 6 bcoz this is the only way to configure so I can access Internet through wireless router. I tried once but it says, SipConfigTool error. Thanks. marivik.

Ok, if the IPL/SPL is only 2.16 no further 0001 like 2.16.0001,then its a G3 device,but if its 2.16.0001,then its G4.Note the last trailing three 000 and 1 at the last.
The difference Between G3 and G4 is the last trailing three '000's and 1 at the last.

i've got a simple question, i hope someone of the users in here can provide me an answer. my IPL/SPL are both 1.01. therefore my device is G3,
the question are as follows:
1. Do I still need to downgrade with Button ROM? bearing the fact my IPL/SPL are already 1.01
2. Do I need to use Lokiwiz 0.2b to unlock my device. It is mentioned that 1.xx IPL/SPL are necessary for the upgrade process. since they are both 1.01, do i still need to do this?
3. Could anyone recommend me the "latest" and most less buggy ROM for me? i am very new to this, i really want to have a successful flash.

Your phone has already got IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore,there's no need to downgrade with Button's Rom,its essential to have 1.xx for SIM/CID unlocking.
YUP ! as your phone is still SIM/CID locked,so you'll have to use lokiwiz02b to SIM/CID unlock it for onward upgrade to wm6.You can also use WST_4.2.2 tool also to SIM/CID unlock the phone,but remember to have IPL 1.xx.
Just follow the guide posted in my above link to understand it correctly to unlock and upgrade.
Check out the 'Wizard Mobile 6' sub-forum for latest wm6.1 Roms.It all depends upon your own choice.

zadardast thx a lot for your response. i was so excited yesterday, so i couldn't wait to flash it right away. however, with my lack of common sense... i upgraded my device first to the latest ROM available on clubimate.com
now my devise has IPL/SPL of 2.xx, which means i need to follow all the steps
knowledge (and common sense) is power, wish me luck wish the flashing

I downloaded and tried installing Faria's Windows Mobile 6 today, it failed exactly at 99%? Help please! All I then got was the red green blue screen. I am not sure how I managed to restore Windows mobile 5 back on the phone, had to kill some wcescomm.exe process again and again and got lucky I guess!
My cell phone is unlocked and I don't think I need to get anything unlocked, just need help on finding some decent Windows Mobile 6+ tom

I can tell you that roms arent good or bad... in every device we have diferent issues believe me... and everyone can said this is good to me but somebody said its the worst one! why?... cause its their points of view... be sure you have everything to upgrade before do it ok?

Search on the brushed metal by noonski ROM in post number 82 i have attached A RUU just copy your nk.nbf to the file unzipped and run the RUU xp if it doesnt works run the normal RUU. in this link:

Its an old rom but if it is of your likely... first read the way to upgrade in G4 section of wizard forum maybe you miss a step...
Good luck the new ERA of Roms are the included Manila 2D in it... so give it a try is most prettier.

it seems my rom upgrade haven't solved one of my major problems.The GPRS connection is not working.I'm connecting to the network (Vodafone) but if i want to browse the internet internet explorer says :"The page cannot be found.Check the name and try again".

Most of roms
Most of roms has this kind of prob, cause the ccokers said that is better to conect via WIFI or USB stills a problem... but you can try and try again
One more thing maybe your carrier Configuration have missing something... acharacter... a number a dot..... i dont know men!

I am so happy I have found you ! I have had the MDA PRO for 3-4 years now and I just realized (reading this forum) that I can do a lot more with my PDA and I am a lot behind with the software and drivers !
Here is what I am running now:
PDA: T-Mobile MDA Pro
ROM version: 1.30.77 WWE
Rom date: 02/20/06
Radio Version: 1.09.00
Protocol Version: 42.42.P8
Ext Rom: ...blank !!! (nothing there)
I am running Vista 64 and my computers can not see the PDA any more (this is why I started searching and I finally found you).
Could you please help me with the following:
1 How do I solve the Vista64 to PDA connectivity ? The computer can't find the driver.
2. How do I upgrade the drivers to see a 16GB SD card (Kingston)
3. How do I upgrade the wireless drivers to see the 802.11g networks ?
4. What can I do to see DivX movies on my PDA ? Do I need to upate my VGA drivers to see 640x480 ?
5. What version of WM shoul I try to upgrade to ? Could you please tell me if I shoud try this on Vista64 or XP32 ? Are there any problems with this ?
Please send me the links to articles on this forum or somewhere else, no need to explain everything again here.
I would prefer to solve 1-4 without upgrading my ROM software, 5 is not a major concern for me.

Go to first new post ROMs for HTC Universal, by Cotulla is the greatest rom there is allowing you double the space on your universal which really gives you loads of potential, all that you need is either in universal mobile 6 as some of the programs registry tweaks and some programs such as advanced config, ill round up what i can later tonight to help more in depth

If you want to solve number 2 & 3 you have to reflash your ROM, (At least I don´t know another way to do this without reflashing)

What are the chances to brick the phone with this ?
I am running vista 64 and ...as stated above I have problems. I still have the old WinXP 32 laptop that I can use for this but if there is a Vista 64 solution I would go with that if it is safe.

I am running vista 64 and ...as stated above I have problems. I still have the old WinXP 32 laptop that I can use for this but if there is a Vista 64 solution I would go with that if it is safe.

I have reflashed since I have my Universal (2005) like 50 times and all is ok!

So far by reading the docs I managed to make my PDA visible in Windows x64 wich is excellent
