xda2 german language files?

Hi everyone,
this is just an idea came a minute ago thinking about how to get my ppc 2003 OS on my XDA get German language. So, may there be a possibility just to copy the language files from one ppc2003 device (xda2 german version) to another ppc2003 device (eg. my xda). If so, it would be possible either to replace the files in the romdir, which would take more ram, or to make a new image, which i think would be much more difficult.
maybe this won't work anyway. Maybe there is a german 2003 upgrage for the mda. maybe... anyone has any suggestions ?

How to cook a German ROM in a kitchen

Hi XDA Freaks,
habe meinem XDA das deutsche 4.0033 verpasst.
Vieles ist für meine Zwecke unnötig, andererseits sollte der Flashspeicher
dann bereits mit den zusätzlich benötigten Tools gefüllt werden können.
DAS Projekt 'cook your own ROM in a kitchen' unter http://www.xda-developers.com/ROMkitchen/ beschreibt dies für die englischen ROM's. Das ist nicht das einzige Handikap. Das Projekt arbeitet zudem unter
LINUX/Unix, und da kann ich (noch) nicht mithalten.
Bis heute gibt es wohl keine deutsche ROM-kitchen/Tool, welches diesen Ansprüchen genügt.
Vielleicht ist das ja Ansporn für gleichesinnte dies zu tun, oder ihre Erfahrung damit hier weiter zugeben.

Hy Reiner.
The Rom-Kitchen also works with the german ROMs.Only some files must be adapted to get it right working.
I´m also playing a bit with the rom kitchen and get it worked, so i´m using my own cooked rom.
With the Romkitchen your not able to rmove Programs from the rom, you only have the possibility to add software.
When you want to have a own cooked rom, you can sen me a email with the programms you want to have on it (only the programs you can add at the Demokitchen) and i can "cook" it for you....

For those who have no problem with english but prefer german input:
This Cab changes the following to german:
- Softkeyboard (including help)
- Word-Completion
- Spell check
- Auto correction
- Transcriber (optional)
The rest of the Rom stays english!!!

Bei LVSW ist es dabei.

- (optional) "German Transcriber by ZakMcRofl.cab" aufs Gerät kopieren und ausführen (braucht etwa 1 MB)
- For Roms that don't include it, sipchange has to be installed

- Device is reset automatically
- Under "Settings -> System -> Regional Settings" switch to Germany

Apparently there isn't that much interest in localized input.
I realize this has been done before by others but as far as I know nobody did it for the (german) softkeyboard.
If anyone is interested in how to do this for a different language, let me know.

I´m interesteing in traslation in spanish the rom wm6, do you help me?, sorry for my english

This release only changes the keyboard and dictionary, not the entire Rom.
In both cases you'll need certain files from a different spanish WM6 Rom (WM5 might also work). Translating a complete Rom is a ****load of work and unless you have Rom cooking experience I would adwise against it.

I can look into it but understand that this will only be a translation of the input. Also I don't even know what kind of keyboard spain and italy has but I guess I can find out.
Maybe I'll do one other language as example and release a quick guide for others.

unfortunately it doesn't really work on my universal - the onscreen keyboard is there but it is invisible.

It should work on Hermes as well, depending on which Rom you use.

Really looking for a tutorial to do a French one maybe we could discuss about it ?

1) Extract CAB
2) Get the required file from a French WM6 (or emulator image)
3) Adjust registry settings I make in the CAB to your image
4) Make your own CAB
You realize this is ONLY for the input methods (transcriber, softkeyboard, dictionary), not the entire Rom.

this is a good beginning. Thank you, but for me I am searching for a german rom, because I want to write my WM5 backup back and therefor I need the same registry-sittings and indexes. Otherwise I must register all my programs twice.
Is it possible in the next future or is there no interest.

Not working for Dell Axim x51v with WM6 RTM rom
Hi there,
the appl. unfortunately is not working for my Dell X51v. I downloaded and installed sipchange and then the German Input file. I can select the German keyboard, but tapping on the Keyboard button does not activate a "visible" keyboard. But something seems to be there, for if i tap on the "invisible" keyboard space, for instance in "contacts", all contacts with a certain letter are chosen- I guess it must have been the letter I tapped on the certain space of this keyboard, even though I couldn't see a thing. I am not sure how to sort this, but maybe you have an idea. I read something somewhere that I have to replace a certain file in my Windows folder. Do you guys know how to solve this? Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I've managed it to modify it to my phone skin (black) and thought, maybe someone is happy if I share my work
Notice: Works fine on my MDA Compact 2. I have uninstalled this keyboard first. Then reinstalled it using the cab above without restarting after that. Now copy the zipped .dll into \Windows, overwrite the existing one. Soft-Reset and it works. Don't know if this way must be exactly followed.

Touch It 4.5 Panel Manager

Hey guys,
could somebody post the cab for the panel manager which is used originally on itjes Touch It 4.5?
I installed the new panel manager but i have problem with it.

kann man den neuen panel manager einfach drüber installieren?...oder muss man den erstmal entfernen(und das geht ja net ^^ muss ja in die rom gekocht werden)

You can simply install the new one.

Thank you. I feel the Panel Manager which is usen in the Touch it ROM looks diffrent from the one which is used in the original ROM. There are no icons for settings and changing view. And the vibration is missing and the panel icons are smaller. Do somebody know where I can find the cab of the panel manager from original ROM?

No idea .. I could give it to you .. yesterday .. but today I already have the new one .. and I don't see why I'd go back, since this one is like 100 times faster.

HHHEEELLLLPPP!!!German hardware keyboard only english in english roms???

Hey guys I have a problem with my rhodiom. I flashed from a german stock rom to an english rom and now the hardware keyboard makes an "y" and not an "z" and I also dont have the letters "ä,ü,ö".
Is there a cab available to change the hardware keyboard to german???

Use a registry editor to change the key:

Then the hardware keyboard should work with all the symbols, but in the software keyboard the "z" and "y" keys will still be changed.

Thanks for your quick help! Software keyboard is not so important for me. I am using the Fingerkeyboard 2.1 for it and it works in all languages!

If in the hardware keyboard the "y" and "z" are still messed, then try setting the registry key

In case some one want to change soft AND hardwarelayout:
To change software layout (advaced Config required)
1. start
2. Advanced Config
3. change to the right layout under Input
To change hardwarelayout special key's
1. open a registry editor
2. browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME\Keyboard LayouFiles]
3. change "07FF"="eT9.Rhodium.wwe.kmap.txt" to "07FF"="eT9.Rhodium.807.kmap.txt" (standard country code) files are already in windows folder
To change qwerty to qwertz
1. install Keys remapper ( here)
2. Start -> Settings -> System ->Keyboard Config
3. Menu -> add key -> press y -> Action -> Emulate key press -> z -> ok
4. Menu -> add key -> press z -> Action -> Emulate key press -> y -> ok
5. update config

German Keyboard Layout

my first work... I tried to create a CABfile for that, and I think it works.

ich habe mal versucht ein CAB-File zu erstellen.
Es ändert die 3 benötigten Registry-Werte und kopiert 2 benötigte Dateien ins Windowsverzeichnis.
Umlaute usw sind auch auf dem Hardware-Keyboard damit richtig... nicht nur y und z...
Perfekt ist es natürlich diese Datei auf die Speicherkarte in das Verzeichnis xda_uc zu kopieren.
Z.B. beim Energy-ROM wird dann alles dort selbst installiert nach nem hardreset oder Flashen von nem neuen Rom.
Habe keinen Hardreset gemacht um das zu testen. Habe die Werte von Hand zurückgestellt und dann das CAB probiert, bei mir hats geklappt...
Kann aber ein Profi gerne überarbeiten... Ich bin wirklich nur Laie und hatte mal vor vielleicht 5 Jahren die letzte CAB-Datei erstellt...
