Help! My HTC Charmer reboots at the splash screen

Last night I flashed my MDA Compact II with a ROM in this forum. It's from the thread: Tuning ROM 2.6.2.27 MDA CHARMER(MDA COMPACT II). The ROM update seemed to go okay, but now the Charmer won't boot. All I get is the splash screen, which says:
IPL 1.12
SPL 1.12.0000
OS 2.6.2.27
After about 20 - 25 seconds, the background does this fade-out effect and then the phone reboots. Also, I get no charge indicator light when the phone is plugged in (power or USB). Does anyone know how I can fix this or why this is happening?

1. dowenload this t-mobile official rom
2. enter your Charmer into bootloader mode by pressing power + camera + reset, let go of the reset, but keep holding power + camera until the three colur screen will show up (that is bootloader mode).
3. connect the Charmer to your pc (make sure your battery is fully charged)
4. run the t-mobile rom.
5. good luck!

Also the problem is that youve still got v1 bootloaders (IPL + SPL 1.12) Once youve downloaded the official tmobile rom and installed it, you'll have v2 bootloaders and can go back to using that tuning rom properly.

the i was told by a senior menber to flash it with BUTTON 1.05 (which i did)
and now BATTERY IS NOT CHARGING
and now i have
ipl 1.01
spl 1.12.000
gsm 01.12.10
os 1.5.4.2
i have checked usb cable , main power charger with other pda and it was working ok
now i can keep my mda compact 2 alive once it is plugged in via main power charger only. i dont have any facility to recharge my battery on another charger.

hi ,
i flased the tmobile rom with ur given link now it doesnt go past the initial screen
all it says is
ipl 3.08
spl 3.08
gsm 02.69.21
os 3.8.2.21
and stays ter all day until battery goes dead.
please help me let me know hw can i get my phone up and running.

My wizard died

Hello!
I have strange problem with my Wizard. 4 month ago i was trying to install Pathfinder 1.2, but when I installing this ROM using ShellTool my PDA bricked. Now all the time it's frozen on Splashscreen with IPL/SPL GSM and OS information. All HR completed without any errors and all ROM's upgrading finish correctly.
Once time, after 2 months for breaking, my Wizard just started and working very well, I do 2 HR and few SR and my Wizard still working good, but when I shut it down and pull out battery my Wizard again frozen and until now can't wake up. I have CID Unlocked by imei-check. I tried to install many different ROM's, e.g. Wizard Love, Dopod (CHS), T-Mobile, Orange (PL) but nothing work. I also tried way with SD Card but my ROM's doesn't work, I think I need some working dumped ROM. I was searching help on few forum but poeple on polish forums don't know how to help me. May someone here have idea where can i find working dumped ROM or have any other idea how can i fix my Wizard?

which is your device,post full data of your phone,IPL/SPL...? Make...?
As you say you installed through Shelltool,is it a G4 DOC chip version ?
You say it's stuck at the splash screen with ipl/spl and gsm version,which splash screen,is it OS (Rom) initial splash screen or a Bootloaders (Multicolored) screen ?
Secondly ,try to get it into bootloaders (multicolor) screen,if it gets into bootloaders,connect it to PC via usb cable,check small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloader mode in the phone,if it does,than flash a carrier's official Rom to recover back to it's default status.

Try the Button's ROM (which is in Wizard Upgrading subforum). Then unlock it again (It may be causd by a fake CID unlock when you try to unlock when IPL/SPL is 2.xx)

I have G3, but I was using ShellToll because I can't install by RUU file.
My Wizard stuck at ROM Splashscreen, i can get into bootloader screen, but when I flash any ROM, everything upgrading well but after Reboot it still frozzing at Splashscreen. I was tried Button ROM sometimes but it doesn't work, I have CID unlocked by Imei-check.uk and everything is okay, I can install ROM from G3 and G4 chips. And ... I remember, that before CID Unlocking my IPL and SPL have different value.
PS. I was unlocking my CID, after my Wizard bricked.

You can download this rom CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe on XDA,it contains IPL/SPL 1.01,and upgrad this rom,then you'll find your IPL downgrad to 1.01,and SPL still is 2.24,and then,use aWizard tu unlock your CID,after this,your CID should be unlocked,you can use RUU upgrad any rom you want.
I just do this yesterday,my CID isunlocked now.And RUU now works on my device.

Hello! I have CID unlocked. When I install Button ROM my IPL and SPL is the same (1.01). Every RUU works but It still frozen. 2 Days ago i found on other forum this advice:
INSTRUCTION :
1. miniSD - formated in PC - FAT format (now FAT32 !)
2. Wizard On and Bootloader (press reset and keep photo button let go reset) 3 color display. Put in card to Wizard.
3. Connect USB - PCC to PC
4. Launch MTTY 1.42 (my ver.) with USB connection
5. Write command - r2sd os end press enter
6. Program it will record OS on miniSD
7. After recording make Hard Reset or turn on Bootloader
8. On Display should be written - Format partition ?? (5 sec.) - to confirm press Voice dial button. If inscription it will disappear repeat point 7.
9. If Format partition successful wait OS is write. Done.
10. Draw out miniSD
11. Make Hard Reset
12. Enter in bootloader
13. FOR NON CID WIZARD - Flashing Wizard RUU (must be proper version) - ERROR 300 is bad RUU ERROR 266 turn off Wizard and turn on connect to PC
14. With CID (for example CID G4) seek forum for flashing Wizard with CID G4

I was carry out all command step by step, and after flashing proper version Orange ROM my Wizard woken up, but today my Wizard get stuck again and now this way don't work, and I have to find a new method to rescue my PDA.

My Wizard woke up! I find ERA PL ROM (RUU_Prodigy_3829_382130_027111_TMO_PL_PLK_Ship) which flash excellent and working, but now I have a new problem. I can install other ROM after that but none of them work, every stucked at Splashscreen like before.I need to find some WM6 ROM which will working? Someone have some suggestion?

wizard g3 stuck in spl/ipl screen

hello everyone. i just bought a g3 wich remains stuck in the ipl/spl screen. i tried VIPPIE 's tutorial (many thanks man for ur work) and flash button rom 1.05 to revive the phone. it flashed without any error , but same result. phone doesnt pass the ipl/spl screen. next i tried to flash Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102, flashed ok but nothing happend. i m just stuck on the ipl/spl screen. the phone isnt bricked but i can not start it to do a soft spl and flash it. any ideas ?
because it s an o2 xda mini s , i thought an original o2 rom would do the trick (start the phone) but i couldnt find an original rom (tried the xda dev ftp page and the o2 one).

Is it the Bootloaders screen(Tricolor) with IPL/SPL or initial loading screen with ipl/spl ?
What ipl/spl...? it displays at the moment ?
You can try to get into Bootloaders mode (tricolor screen) by pressing and holding down the camera button and press the Soft Reset button at the same time with the stylus or turn off the phone and while pressing and keeping holding down the camera button,Power On the phone,it'll wake up and go into Bootloaders (tricolor screen).if it goes into bootloaders,connect your phone to the pc via usb and check if small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloaders screen,if its there run the Ruu to flash,But first post your present ipl/spl..? here.

well, in my case , after button rom flashes wizard displays IPL 1.01 SPL 1.03 and after i flash the xda_mini_launch_rom it displays IPL 1.03 SPL 1.05 . NOT SPL 2.xx as mentioned in the tutorial . why ?

i get it into bootloader with the camera + on button , bot the active sync on the systray , doesnt activate, it remains grey (like no device is connected). weird stuff.
yesterday i just upgraded a g4 wizard to wm6 and everything went smooth , an now

ok,after flashing button's rom or xda_mini you'll certainly have an ipl/spl 1.xx,cuz these roms have actually ipl/spl 1.xx,they are aku 1.xx roms,it's required to have ipl/spl 1.xx to use lokiwiz02b tool to SIM/CID unlock the phone,only then it can be upgraded to any wm6 roms.But to upgrade to wm6 its essential to have ipl/spl 2.xx,so to get to ipl/spl 2.xx,you have to flash your phone with T-mobile 2.26,then it'll show an ipl/spl 2.xx as required,ok

thanks mate , but in order to do the lokiwiz soft spl i need to have a working phone (i need to write the cab into my phone and execute). by doing so , my phone needs to work after flashing the button rom or the xda mini launch rom (right?). but mine , after flashing, remains in the ipl/spl screen (not the bootloader).
if i flash an o2 xda mini original rom , do i have a chance to revive the phone and to start it in order to apply the lokiwiz soft spl ?

Activesync will not work in bootloaders mode,bootloaders cut off the activesync,you can only verify the connectivity between your phone and pc,if in bootloaders,connect the phone to the pc via usb cable and check if small usb appears at the bottom of the bootloaders,if its there then just flash the rom,there's no need to establish connection through activesync,ok

YES ! first of all you got to have a working OS on the phone to activesync,only the you can perform with lokiwiz02b,ok

ok , so what should i do in order to start it succesfully and use lokiwiz. i cant find an original o2 rom and button rom or launch rom doesnt start my phone. what can i do ?
the o2 roms were deleted from xda dev ftp

after a lot of searching and digging, i found the missing xda dev ftp O2 original roms . i flashed Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102 , everything went ok , same result. doesnt pass the ipl spl screen. tried RUU_Wizard_1050402_101_11210_O2_ENG and same thing. im getting really confused. my pc responses when i connect the wizard, it flashes with no errors , but it wont start. what can i try more ?
ohh, i have made a new nasty descovery: when i keep pressed down the comm button and the voice button and press the reset with stylus, the phone turns off and restarts in spl/ipl screen instead of hard resseting. is it really messed up ?

I'm afraid m8,it has most probably some hardware issues,better get it checked by some techy or mobile repair shop.

Where can I get my brick wizard fixed?

Does anyone know where I can get my Cingular Wizard fixed? My phone froze one time, and I had to take out my battery and after that I was unable to boot up again. Is there a HTC place in hong kong that does that or in NOrth America?

s.O.S upgrading to wm6.1 made my wizard brick
while upgrading to wm 6.1 from wm 5.0 , i had a g4 device my device is now not even showing the charging light neither responding or booting.
i haD A G4 DEVICE AS CHECKED WITH WIZARD SERVICE TOOLS, THEN I DID A CID UNLOCK VIA LOCKIWIZ 0.2B , LATER I UPDATED THE IPL/SPL TO 3.08 AND THEN PROCEEDED FOR SNN 3.08 FULL VERSION 6.1 WM6 UPDATE,
THE DEVICE WENT QUIENTLY TO BOOT LOADER MODER I SUSPECT AS THE RAINBOW SCREEN WAS NOT SHOWED ON THE DEVICE THOUGH
HOWSEVER IT WAS SHOWING AS ONLY UPDATING BAR WAS SHOWN WITH ZERO PERCENT UPDATE FINISHED ON THE LAPTOP SCREEN NO RESPONSE ON DEVICE AND THEN A RECOVERY SCREEN APPEARED WHICH PROMPTED TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND REINSTALL AFTER A FEW SECONDS BUT TO NO AVAIL,
ITS MY BROTHERS PIECE AND I AM VERY SCARED NOW PLEASE HELP ME FROM THIS MESS PLEASE.

If you really had a G4 device and you did all of the above then you have bricked it. G4's cannot be CID Unlocked via lociwiz (unless something recently changed), and flashing IPL/SPL 3.08 is NOT compatible to a G4 device and that will brick it.
Sorry, but you shouldn't flash a phone (especially if its not even yours) if you don't understand what you are doing. Without further details (and please don't use all caps. I don't care how "scared" you are) there is nothing else anyone here can do to help you. You need to give complete details of what the phone does now. If you can get to (and see) the tri color screen, then its probably recoverable. If the phone won't turn on, then its probably bricked.
Can I ask why you were flashing your brother's phone? Did you have permission?

Like my previous post, how about some details. Does the phone go to the Bootloader (tri color) screen? If it does, what are the numbers and info on that screen?

I loaded some huge apps to my storage card tried to use the app. which froze my device. the wizard turns on. but shows the first screen with the phone info. then the second screen that say windows mobile. but it always stay on the second screen

I'd just use the terra thing to format it completely and reflash to a new rom

I have the same problem too. I just flash back the original t-mobile flash and it's ok again. But whenever i try to flash it again it hangs on the boot screen again. So if you want it to work just use an original T-mobile flash and it will be ok again
