Does it make sense? I'd like the long end key press to bring it up, when installed it does nothing.

Hello,
I don't like this Home button on the Touch HD. I can get back to the today screen with the normal End Call button.
I am missing a startmenu button which I got used to over the last years. And the startmenu on this display is so far away from my thumb, that it makes one handed usage difficult.
Is there an easy way to reassign the Home buttion to the startmenu? The default Settings-->Buttons dialog offers only one long press customization. Can I enable the other buttons to get changed there?
Use aebuttons or mobilemagic, search a little for
A tool to change the buttons is AEButton Plus.
But the home key cannot be changed so far.
I concur with AE Button plus not being able to assign/reassign the home button
This is bad.
So we have to wait for a solution. I hope someone works on this.
The end call button and the home button are redundant.
Why have 2 buttons that primarily do the same thing? I know that the home button takes you to the main screen during a call where as pressing the end call will end it. But you could easily press the on-screen end call button, thus freeing up the home button to something more useful or customisable.
I guess HTC need to keep thier devices "conventional" looking to avoid scaring off potential pda newcomers!
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if the collective genius at XDA could help me out with a small question.
I'm using a Diamond with titanium, and when I press the 'home' key, it successfully brings me to the home screen. What it does not do is bring me to the 'clock' panel. By default, titanium reverts to the last panel you were viewing. Perhaps I was tainted by Manila, but I'm now used to pressing 'home' and seeing the time. I know i can always see the time in the taskbar, but humour me please. My question is:
Is there any way to make the home button send me directly to the 'clock' panel in Titanium?
(OR - - have titanium refresh to the clock panel instead of remembering where you last were)
Thanks in advance all!
on my device (Titan) pressing the End Call takes me to the Clock plugin and centers it on screen. Have you tried pressing the home button twice or pressing the end call button after pressing the home key.
Default Panel
Did you ever get an answer to this? I too am trying to figure out how to create a default panel. Not being able to have Titanium revert to a specific panel after a set period of time is the only issue I have. If you find a way to do this please share it with me.

This also works on the AT&T Fuze.. Hitting the "End Call" take me back to the clock.
Thanks. I was hoping to be able to find a tweak or something to have it done automatically.
End Call Key - Titanium clock panel
I am also looking for a registry tweak which takes me to the Clock Panel with a short press of the End Call Key. Some cooked WM6.5 Titanium roms have it and some do not. Thanks
is there an easy way, or a cab made to make the end call button the power button like the hero and hd2? this would increase one handed usability on such a large device. thanks all!
You can hold the top button down for a few seconds and it will ask you if you want to shut off.. same thing.

Don't think this is a good idea. The HD2 has a dedicated Home button. The TP2 does not. The End Call button already does double-duty as the Home button. It would be overkill for it to also act as the Standby button.
Besides, while the TP2 is large, you can still hit the Standby button even if you're holding it with one hand. If the device is in your palm, you should still be able to reach the Standby button with your index finger. This would be difficult on the HD2...
Btw, if you install SPB PocketPlus, it enables some advanced button mapping settings. You can map the long-press Back button to Standby. But I find it doesn't work if you're in Manila/Sense/TF3D. For example, if I don't have any applications opened and I'm in the Sense interface (home tab, people tab, whatever), Standby wouldn't work if mapped to the Back button. But if I have an application opened (eg, Notes, Tasks, etc), it'll work...
Hey guys,
I got a TMOUS HD2 a couple of days ago and was wondering if there was a cab or some sort of reg tweak that can assign the end key to exit out of programs instead of pressing the back key and ending it in task manager, or having to exit using the soft keys.
I personally prefer to have a hard button to exit out of the programs because I am coming from the iPhone.
the end key is used to turn off your screen and put your phone to sleep/stand-by or end a call, so i find it impractical to use it to exit an app or for anything else... how else would you put your phone on standby without it? unless u let the display time out but then you'll wonder why your battery doesn't last as long as it should. the HD2 is not an iPhone
Are you aware that you can click the cross in the top right of the screen? Clicking it minimizes the app and a long press closes it. You can download something like Touch X Task Manager that can reassign these the other way around so a short tap on the cross closes the app. This is just as quick as clicking a hard button and as stated assigning it to end key either single or long press prevents other important features namely switching to standby for a short press and turning the phone off for a long press.
Anyone tried Doublelauncher or other Button remapper (Vito Button Mapper, etc.) with the HD2?
I have Doublelauncher (paid version), and found it to come in handy on other WM devices. You can remap different functions for different buttons--for single press, double press, press and hold, and even triple press (or double press and hold).
The HD2 doesn't have many buttons. I certainly wouldn't want to mess with the Send and End keys, as those already have different functions for press and press and hold, wouldn't want to mess with trying more.
I also certainly wouldn't want to change the single press function of the home, Windows, or back key, as those are important functions to have available at a keypress wherever you are. However, it might not be bad, if possible, to be able to map different functions for those three keys, if possible, to press and hold, double press, triple press, etc. (Or--are there already press and hold functions for any of those three keys?)
Anyone tried any button remapping programs on the HD2? Did it work?
One key I sure wish the HD2 had--an OK key! (I guess if something like Doublelauncher worked, it could be programmed as a double press on one of the other keys.)
