MicroSDHC's are available with write speeds up to 20MB/sec. What is the fastest speed that the AT&T Tilt supports? Does the speed of the microSDHC really matter?

to all you "wise" men out there!
yes, I know ther difference between bit and byte!
i just want to repeat that network speed for hsdpa in austria is up to 3,6 Mbit/s in some rural regions-
so my question once more is:
did anyone test the TyTN aka MDA Vario II in these regions?
-what are the maximum benchmarks?
-yes there is an actual QUALLCOMM-Chipset for up to 7,2Mbit/s HSDPA download speed --- see the HUWAEI USB-MODEM FROM A1!
The chip in TyNT "only" allows up TO 1.8 Mbps
I know xda-developers is not for Samsung devices, but the experts and information here is unmatched on the internet......
I am looking at the Omnia II as I want a WinMo device that has 8GB or more of internal memory, my question is this.
The Omnia II has the following bands (from omnia.samsungmobile.com on the specs page)
EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS 900/1900/2100
I am currently on T-Mobile and would like to know if this phone would allow me to use T-Mo's 3G network, I have read that T-Mo uses 1900 and 2100 but everything I read says something about US2100 and ##1900 and that it's not the same as most phones are designed.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Also if someone knows of another phone with 8GB or more internal memory that is better than the Omnia II that would be great also (phone has to be 6.5 ready and I know I can just get any phone with a MicroSD slot, but it would be nice to have 8GB plus a 16GB micro card.

I too am investigating this as I am interested in the 1900 band for AT&T. All of the answers that I have found so far have been about as clear as mud! LOL
I will post back if I find any solid answer to this, but I believe that the T-mo 2100 band is somewhat different than the European 2100 band is. I am not sure about the 1900 band tho.
Later.........
Yes it works!

I'm using the Samsung GT-i8000 on US ATT (UMTS 1900) and am getting my usual 3G speeds. I'm coming off the ATT Fuze/HTC Touch Pro (which has UMTS 850/1900) for the past year so I know where the non-3G areas are in and around Chicago. So far, I haven't noticed any difference in coverage areas, 3G availability/unavailability or call quality (indoors and outdoors).
It's a great phone but I do wish it came with 6.5 on it...

T-Mobile supports 1700/2100 3G bands.
3G 0n AT&T w/ Omnia II i8000
I just recently got an i8000 Omnia but have not been able to get 3G reception. The best I am able to do is get Edge (2G). I am located in the Mpls-St.Paul MN area and have moved to the i8000 from a Samsung Eternity which always got 3G reception. Is there something that I a not doing correctly or a phone setting that I need to change? A reply would be appreceiated from anyone having success...Thanks!
Yes,
Unless you have good 1900 Mhz coverage you will not get 3G data from your phone. Only the Bell Canada version has UTMS 850/1900 data bands (3G+), Other Omnia 2 versions will not get any 3g data speeds unless there is good 1900 coverage. Unfortunately ATT is beefing up 850 band rather than the 1900 band as better penetration etc. I have even read in various releases that ATT is planning to abandon 1900 in favor of 850 in the next year or so.
Thanks to XDA developers for the OMnia 2 coverage !!!!
Considering HSPA+ is still only a 3g network, should phones that had 3g capability be able to take advantage of HSPA+? I mean when T-Mobile upgraded their old 3g to HSDPA/HSUPA, every phone got the boost.
And why do phones that are cable of utilizing HSPA+ need a sim card that supports HSPA+

I work Tmo Retail. All 3g Tmo phones can utilize the HSPA+ network. The difference with the newer MT4G and G2 is that they can handle higher speeds depending on your area.
For instance, the Samsung Vibrant can handle up to 7.2 mbps while the G2 can do 14.4. In Los Angeles, I get around 4-5 megs on HSPA+ so both phones would be about the same speeds. However, I've heard in other areas in the country, some people have reached 8-12 mbps with HSPA+. In that case, the higher speed capabilities would make a difference.
Hope that answers your question!

So you're saying that once the average speeds for HSPA+ are say 8mbps that my phone will be capped at 7.2 mbps, but if the average speeds are currently under 7.2 that I would be completely capable of having the same speeds as a phone equipped for HSPA+?
Hi Everyone,
Got my N7105 for 3 weeks now and I am having speed issue with the HSPA+ on Bell Canada. When I run the speed test seem my average download speed is 4 Mbps and upload is 2 Mbps. My other friend got his Nexus 4 today and we run a speed test with his phone. Seem he is able to reach 15Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload. Is there some settings i have to do to make it go faster?
Thanks
Philip
Hey, the reason why the Nexus 4 is getting faster speeds is because it supports Bell's DC-HSPA+ 42 network which technically should double your speed. However, your 4mbs seems suspiciously low. I'm using a SGH T889V Note 2 on mobilicity where they throttle you to 2mbs, but this phone does support the DC42. Also, Rogers has LTE on the 2600 mhz frequency which the N7105 supports, so that's the way to go if you want LTE.
I am having data issues with my note 2 as well on bell, it keeps going from h+ to h to 3g and sometimes won't load pages or nothing....really annoying

Hi, I have an unlocked Galaxy Note 3 currently in use for AT&T with their HSPA+ speeds and I have two bars at home, so my signal produces like less than a MB of speed. Is there a prepaid service I can get LTE on with my device? Is rooting really worth it for the LTE speeds?
