WM6 upgrade without USB connection. Cant go to bootloader - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

Hello.
I got my O2 Xda orbit but i have the USB problem as it doesnt connect or charge via the PC, it only charges using the wall charger.
So i want to upgrade to WM6 and possibly to "Artemis Touch 3.01".
I got the .nbh file directly from O2 site, and put it into the SDcard. My orbit seems to be unlocked as im using a sim card from a different network and different country (Portugal).
I followed the SDCARD FLASHING tutorial in the wiki but i cant seem to find that screen, all i get is the red, green blue white screen.
So i come to you experts to help me get "Artemis Touch 3.01" on my Artemis, step by step.
Thanks for any help.
PS if anyone knows the USB problem and has fixed it outside warranty, please let me know.

found the problem. Very simple but hard to get there.
My SDCard was formatted as FAT and not FAT32.
It is as this moment reading from SDCard. If all goes well, within 30min it will be done.
Will post here the result.

HERM100
SPL-2.10.Olipro
What i need to do?
Can some one help me?
Sory for my english!
That is the bootloader screen. Just soft reset the device with the stylus and it should boot up normally, if the device is OK. If you are not sure how to softreset, check the WIKI here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
If it doesn't go past there, there is still hope. Read the info in the WIKI on how to unbrick your phone. Based on the SPL version that is on the phone, someone has already been playing around with loading roms, as that is not a factory standard SPL. Much better, but not factory version.
Reply back with your findings after the soft reset.
Nothing hapans, its stil the same, screan with 4 colors.
I tryed hard reset an soft, but nothing.
How to instal a new rom?
OK, a couple of questions.
1. do you have the usb cable to connect your device to a pc.
2, do you have access to a pc with activesync installed that has usb ports.
3. do you have a micro sd card and a device that can write to that card.
Your answers to these questions will determine the path we need to take for upgrading.
Will try to respond as soon as I see your posting.

so that it all clear, do you mean to say that you m3100 boots up fine, but you cant make calls?
or
your m3100 keeps resetting itself
or
basically, what exactly do you mean by pocket pc work but phone dont work.
anyways, just reflash using your microsd again, and you *should* be fine

I have flashed my M3100 several times an several rom versions, but the same!
you can try reflashing your radio, or checking your device for bad blocks with mtty
edit:
just saw this link over at the upgrading subforum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377389
just exactly what you need for checking bad blocks
Ok, i will try to check for bad blocks, and let you know about situation.
Can someone give me a link for radio files?
Dude, try the wiki : radio roms....

P4350 quite dead after USPL'ing

Hi,
I tried to USPL my P4350 (SPL & IPL 4.xx.xxxx) in order to update to WM6.1, using Herald-USPL-Beta3. Everything went OK until ROMUpdateUtility kicked in, and gave me an error: FILE IN USE.
So I started the ROMUpdateUtility again, with the screen still blank, and suddenly the P4350 turned off. I'm 100% sure the battery was at least 90% full during USPL'ing, so why it turned off; I have no idea.
Problem is: I can't power up the device anymore. No LED's, even when attaching it to the power adapter.
Any tips on how to fix this, or is it fair to say my device is now really DEAD?
Thanks!
Some suggestions of a Junior Member.
1st. Try a soft reset. Didn't work? Go to Step 2
2nd. Try a hard reset. Didn't work? Go to Step 3
3rd. Pull the battery off. Put it again. Try to turn it on. Didn't work? Go to Step 4
4rd. Wait replies from advanced user. End.
Thank you for replying
However none of the options you mentioned worked out.
I'm stuck waiting for some expert guidance here
Hi, it's been a while, but today I finally made -sure hope so- some progress..
I purchased a HTC Touch HD two weeks ago, from which I plugged in the power adaptor to see what my P4350 would do. (specs are the same btw as the P4350 power adaptor; output 5V, 1A) On this attempt however, the left LED on the front of the device turned RED for about 5 seconds before turning off again. I plugged in the adaptor again, and it lit up RED again. However, the device did not respond to an attempt to power it up.
What does this mean? Is it not dead after all?
Any tips on what to do?
Thanks again.
Wow man, I'm getting somewhere now!
I got the device powered on holding the RESET+POWER+CAMERA and it now hangs on the IPL + SPL screen.
What is very strange is the following:
IPL 1.08.0001
SPL 1.08.0001
as to where these were above 4.xx.xxxx before I did the USPL'ing. I am a 100% sure.. (not so sure anymore now to be honest.. )
The screen displays USB in the left bottom corner, because it is connected to the USB power supply.
I'm afraid to turn it off because it might not turn on again...
Where do I go from here?
Well, I finally got my P4350 to work again
I noticed I was able to start into bootloader mode using CAMERA+RESET, unlike previous attempts to do so. I don't know what caused the device to boot after 6 weeks, but I guess attaching the Touch HD power adapter did the trick.
At first I followed the instructions at topic "Goldcard for Herald", but somehow I wasn't able to make the MicroSD card bootable using my HTC Touch HD for the formatting.
Instead I went to page 5 of the topic and discovered this comment by leptir79, who stated the creation of the Goldcard could easily be done from a DOS-prompt in Windows, with the MicroSD card in the SD-cardreader on a PC or notebook. And this is what did the trick for me:
- I put the SD-card in my notebook cardreader (drive W: ), opened a DOS-prompt, and ran the following command to format the SD-card with the correct priviliges: FORMAT w: /FS:FAT32 /A:4096
- After that I copied heradiag.nbh to the blank MicroSD card to see if my P4350 would boot from the MicroSD card. And it did. From this tool I ran some diagnostics tools to see whether my device was fully functioning, and I got no errors. I noticed that among the diagnostics tools there was a tool to Flash the device with a new ROM
- So I downloaded HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe, extracted RUU_signed.nbh to the root of my MicroSD card (along with heradiag.nbh), and renamed RUU_signed.nbh to heraimg.nbh.
- I started the P4350 into bootloader mode, booting from the MicroSD card. Heradiag.nbh booted up, and I chose to use the Flash ROM utility that came with heradiag. The device automatically found heraimg.nbh, and started the flashing procedure for my device. After confirming, the flashing started.
After a few minutes my P4350 rebooted, and my device is now running Windows Mobile 6.0. Everything seems to work just fine now.
So, if you don't have a second (working) WM device, but do have an cardreader on your PC or notebook, this really is the best option to create the Goldcard imho.. (even if you do have another WM-phone, really, try this procedure first before installing ActivePerl and all the perl-scripts)
Thanks everyone for all the procedures and help. You all did a great job, but most credits in this case go out to leptir79 who gave me the breakthrough in getting my -left for dead- device to work again.
This is a gold trick thats what i'm waiting for...
I have my heralds bricked since 2 months ago... Yup....really bricked...means cant do bootloader mode or hard reseting on device...
And already sent it to the HTC care center, and they ask for mainboard replacing...which is too expensive for me...400US...later cancelling it...
Searching out this forum, and didn't find a solution to reprogramming OMAP via JTAG...then my research suspended...
Untill I found this...
All I need...just to enter to the bootloader...powering up the brick
Can't wait to try this method @home...ASAP...
For now...just looking for 5V, 1A Charger first....
TIA frummel...

Attach phone to a computer with a mini-USB cable and install a RUU ROM.

Serious HD2 00028002 error CAN"T USE PHONE!

Hello fellow HD2 users,
I've got an HD2 T-Mobile UK. I've just tried my luck with HSPL, I've succeessfully installed HSPL using the steps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
However, when I copied the LEOIMG.nbh (1.48 offiicial rom) file to the micro SD 8GB card; and rebooted, things seemed ok untill it suddenly stopped the progress of flashing the ROM and gave me a Grey screen with the Error 00028002 "not Allow" sort of thing.
So I tried yanking battery out, rebooting normally, it displays a grey triangle with " ! " in the middle and then displays the 00028002 error then back to Tri colour bootloader, I noticed that the HSPL is gone and its back now to 1.42.0000
I even tried a Factory reset, it does the reset I reboot, but it still shows me grey triangle and same routine. I've tried everything now. This bloody T-mobile phone is just useless to me at the moment !
Can you please HELP !!! Thank you so much !
Regards !!
Ok found solution, I just had to install the official T-mobile 1.43.110.0 ROM from this link:
http://rapidshare.com/users/258XUJ
After just switching on the phone with microsd inside, I just plugged the usb and started the RUU and followed the steps and things are back to square one now.
not thrilled that it has been a nightmare so far to get a new rom on.
but at least I can use my phone with its basic functionalities. not gona push my luck again...
You cannot flash official ROMS from the sd because it replaces the SPL with a stock one. Presume it got half way through then decided the ROM was not for your device since it hasd replaced the SPL. Cooked ROMS are ok to flash from SD but for Stock use the RUU.
tell me it's working please.my HD2 from UK T-Mob is same "bricked" and in Slovakia is very very difficult to find somebody who can fix this....i think maybe only the HTC repair center
^
If your phone can load up into the boot loader (tri-color screen) your phone is not bricked.
Deeper Trouble:Same error, but cannot use USB!!!
Guys,
im in even much deeper **** now.I accidentally tried flashing a stock ROM via SD card and now ive gt the same ROM code error. What makes this worse is that my Vista computer is not recognizing any USB connection when i connect my HD2 to the computer. If i need to flash a stock rom via RUU wrapper to get through this stupid ROM code error, i need a USB connection at the first place...which IS NOT WORKING NOW!!!...im sitting duck here guys...i really really need your help on this one.im extremely frustrated and helpless.thanks alot...
When u say USB not working, how do you know?
Put phone in bootloader, connect USB cable,,, on phone does "serial" become "USB"? If yes then just run the flash.

[Q] Please Help - O2 xda Orbit is dead - ROM problem

Hi there, I've been reading the forum for about a week trying to find a fix for my deceased orbit xda.
Problem started when the phone started crashing, the screen was going white and needed re-starting. Eventually it failed to load and froze at the blue screen with the red writing!
so I started reading and tried soft and hard re-booting to no avail.
I have managed to get the phone into bootloader and connected a USB
it recognises the usb and installs as a mobile device on my laptop but here's where it gets tricky. I dunno alot about phone's and am struggling to understand some of the processes. I have tried booting off the SD card but it said invalid certificate (i used the artiemg.nhb file from rapidshare)
I have all the original paperwork and cd's for the phone but dont know what or how to flash a ROM.
what do I need and more important how do I do it without all the tech talk.
Its a WM5 phone - thanks
EDIT - Just to clarify, have just tried the romupdateutility on raving_nanza's sig but recieve an error - am running vista on my laptop
Update, I managed yesterday to get the phone to boot from the SD card and indeed it flashed it and WM5 is back up and running, the new problem is its network locked (to O2 i presume). I was using this phone on orange previously without an issue????
any Idea's other than paying imei check?
