hello,
i have installed on my HTC wizard (VPA compact 2; G4; Wiza100) with WM5 this HTC home plugin.
After the installation i have saw, that by power-on my device -there where in the HTChome-screen in the top left is showes the provider-network name- is very shortly signaled "home", if i be in my homezone "vodafone home" (de: "Vodafone zu hause"). => first "vodafone.de", than very shortly "home" and than again permanently "vodafone.de"
Now my question:
What can i doing, that the signalisation "home" is displayed for a longer time (examply: 5 secunds) as under 1 second by power-on the Wizard?
Gives there a patch for al longer signalisation (or for a permanently switching the indication between "Vodafone.de" and "Home"-signalisation) if i be in my homezone?
Thanks for help
Frank

Don't know what you mean exactly, but it shows "home" when your signal is not available.

i mean: switch on from "standby" (short pressure on power-button for power on/of the device; not: from fly-mode or because the battery was unpluged)
Also is the "home"-signalisation a false presumption? It's no show "home", because i'm in my homezone ... but because it's searching the signal from the provider-network, if the device is switching on?
PS: If i think about... I would like to allege: The latest can't be, because the device was in "standby" and in standby-mode the phone can every time communicate with the provider-network, so that the phone isn't need to additional check the provider-network beside the regular pollings from the network.
A network-check is only needed, if the Phone is switch from fly-mode or the power was break/intermitted or the device gets a reset or the phone shall dial a number or the network doesn't poll for a destined time.

You install
1.Battey Status
2.add-ons BSHome
3.Soft reset
I hope that´s all what you need.

Hi guys...
I'm on T-Mobile UK, and I'm having problems with GPRS. I did have this working on ppc 2002 (XDA Dev 1.2)... After upgrading to ppc2003 I just can't seem to get GPRS working (Get a "Cannot connect" error).
Can anyone recommend a good/working radio stack for T-Mobile UK, and possibly provide some linkage... Thanks
Confirming you also upgraded the radio stack? If so what was the radio stack version before you upgraded it?
Hey Qman... It was version 4.01, and after upgrading to 4.21 from O2 it killed off GPRS. I _think_ the reason maybe because 4.21 uses class 8 GPRS, which T-Mobile may not support.

Ok try changing your band from the boot loader and see if that helps.
Warning: Going into boot loader mode under WM 2003 will result in a hard
reset so backup your system first.

I read you post, now can you explain how you broke it?
I ask this question because there is always hope of repair!
hehe... Well I was doing a radio upgrade, and the phone restarted (as normal.. you know where you get the white screen and the percentage bar)... But I left the SD card in, and it came up with "Do you want to format...", but this seemed to crash it, and the device locked totally... I soft-reset... and then it just came up with the O2 bubbles, but rather than saying R <version number> at the bottom in red.. it just showed an R..
After about 4 minutes of hanging at the o2 bubbles, the device looks like it tries to carry on with the radio upgrade, the screen goes white, and a blue bar appears at the top of the screen. You can also see the little keyboard icon in the bottom right corner. But thats all.. Theres no writting, or detail anywhere on the screen. If I keep pressing the volume button, the today screen will appear, although where the start menu is, its obstructed by a blue bar.
Any ideas? lol
Yep - buggered, isn't it
Only had it for about a week lol
Oh well, time to buy another one

I have been having the exact situations like yours. Keep pressing on and off the volume button following the G and R (empty protocol & Radio staock versions), until you see the empty white screen with empty blue bar. It's not easy, but it's possible to get back the blue bar with all working menus. (my experiences count: 2 out of 20 unsucessful tries; yes, I have spent 5 agonizing days).

If this works... I'll buy you a beer 8) hehe
Okay, I can get the volume control and today to appear on the screen, by pressing the volume/record button on the device, and tapping where the speaker icon should be... Although the blue bar is still going across the top of the screen, going over the top of where the Start menu should be... How do I do it, so it drops down the start menu?
Thanks
YESSSS I FIXED IT
After I got to the today screen, I used the repair.zip method, and it worked!!! I'm a v.happy man
good for you..
but i have not been so lucky... I don't know why..
it could be that I accidentallyselected the GSM1900 band after I upgraded to TMobile WM2003 4.01.00. Then the phone stopped working then the unsuccessful RSUpgrade etc. etc.
Damn these XDAs!!!
Looking at an MDA Vario, on the homescreen you can "lock" the device.
I'd like to be able to PIN Lock my device by pressing a key, like I used to my C500 - or a button on the homescreen would be even better. The C500, just pressed the power button and chose "Device Lock" - nice and easy way of securing the phone, preventing anyone from using it.
Whilst I've got the timeout set on my MDA Pro, it doesn't always seem to kick in, and I'd like to be able to lock it manually, but can't find the way...
Can you help?
I agree...
The Qtek 9100 has this nice function as well. Why can't we use it in Universal as well?
set the time to 0 minutes, and then simply switch the device off. This will lock it.

I think the point is, we want to have the "OFF and LOCK NOW" option to click whenever we feel like it, without the inconvenience of having it lock every single time we turn it off.
I see. Looks like a simple program would do that registers for a wakeup event, sends the unit to sleep and then blocks the device until a PIN is entered. However, that can be circumvented easily by a more sophisticated user...
What if a user of a Qtek 9100 (Wizard) could take the Lock Device.exe they have in their ROM's and give it to us???
Wouldn't that solve the problem? :?:
well, let's try !
Anyone??? All we need is the Device Lock.exe I believe from a Wizard...
There is no such file in the Wizards ROM. many have been looking for it, because we want to bind it to a hardware button and remove it from the Today screen. However, none of us have been able to find it. Posting it to you is therefore not possible, sorry.

I didn't know that my friend... That's unfortunate...
Thank you for your reply though
I don't even want to bind to hardware - just the software would be good for now!
I installed the latest UK TMobile Rom, and the lock device today plugin or something like that suddenly appeared... and works perfectly
Hi, anyone know how I can reset the OMAP plus and omap.exe to run back to default I set it at 276 and now it's just loading into the window mobile screen and freezes. How to I set to factory setting or a way to get to Omap plus to reset it lower? Thank you for your time and attention.
...offcourse you didn't made it autostartup at too high frequency, did yàh? Just soft reset, search for omap.exe in windows and change...
i guess he did...and there lies the problem...i think your only solution is a hard reset.....
nextime, load spb Pocket plus software first....it has a "safe Mode" startup if the device has worked for less than a minute....
i.e. if you put a too big number, and the device freezes at startup, at the next restart it will ask you if you want to boot into safe mode...and therefore not load the omap.exe...
I stupidly did the same thing. Can you explain or link me a tutorial on how to hard reset?
I plug my usb into my pc and i get the orange light.
When I try to power on the phone it just loops.
It gets to the wm5 screen then reboots.
Please help!
nvm i figured it out....
Here is the little tutorial I found incase anyone else needs it:
"How to hard-reset your HTC Wizard
Published Tuesday, December 27, 2005 4:47 PM
I had to hard-reset (not the first time) my Qtek 9100 today (I was futzing with system stuff and I zigged when I should have zagged), so I thought I would blog about it for those searching for an option other than 'Clear Storage'.
Option 1:
Start > Settings > Clear Storage (then enter in the number it requests and tap 'YES')
Option 2:
Hold down the Comm Manager button(top left) and Voice Command button(top right) buttons while performing a soft-reset (depress the reset button using the stylus); after you depress the soft-reset button, [contintue to hold the two side buttons] hold down the navigation pad for ~4 seconds until you are prompted on screen [you can release the side buttons now]. Press the Send (Talk) button (i.e. the left telephony button) - or whichever button your system prompts you for.
FWIW, I have seen unsubstantiated claims that Option 2 is a 'more thorough' hard-reset than Option 1...

I recently installed advanced config on my x1 and i changed the setting for 'gprs button'. i set it to include in the bubble: disconnect button and timer
then i soft reset and tried to connect to my mobile internet. The bubble that says its connecting: it comes up twice. Once from the signal icon and once from my 3G icon. This has never happened before. Then a 3rd bubble appears telling me it can't connect (but I actually did connect ok)
EDIT: I just realised that the 2 bubbles are one for trying to connect to pay-as-you-go WAP (wrong one) and the other one for Contract WAP (the correct one). Why does it go through payasyougo first?? Error bubble still there.
Every time i connect through Comm manager, its the same scenario.
Now i've tried to go back in advanced config to revert back to the default setting of 'disabled'. But after reset, the disconnect button and timer are still there!
Additionally: I have the word 'update' on my homescreen - bottom left corner. Think its standard on SE's panel. When I press it, it tries to connect to gprs! Theres no error message if connecting this way (cos it connects straight away to Contract gprs)!! But is that what the 'update' button is there for??
Can someone Pleaseeee tell me how to get rid of the error bubble and/or tell me how to revert successfully back to the original state??
Some info on the 'update' button would also be great!
THANK YOU!!
It's called hard reset
I just updated my original message. It might give everyone a clearer idea of what's been going on.
Hard reset can't be the only option!
I think Hard Reset is the best and fastest method at the moment.
And you can just set everything to the same state before anyone come up with another solution (if there is).
Well ok then but: DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS UPDATE BUTTON???
What does it do for you??
SE Panel, Vodafone branded phone (don't think the latter matters)

The Update softkey forces the weather to update. Might do the same for RSS feeds as well.
Hi all...
My O2 atom life had problem when it starting up it can't get in to windows mobile menu.
When my O2 starting up from OFF mode it show:
Device booting.... as usual and continued with show welcome screen o2 and windows mobile screen, after that the atom ask password (if we set it) or show menu directly but in my case it the screen become white and only show title bar menu like signal and time.....
I had tried to reset using ON/OFF button and software reset but it don't work..... before this there aren't any problem with my 02....
My question is: why this problem happen?? and how to resolve it?
Thanks
try to do hard reset or flash the ROM
Thanks to arfanhy, I had tried to hard reset it and now my 02 work again
But can someone give me explanation why this problem can happen?
And what the cause of this problem?
Thanks
if you go to start-> settings-> lock (in wm 6.1) you'll see that there is an option "prompt if device unused for". it must have been activated somehow/by someone. So the time set there is taken up by the device after booting. So the password request comes on.
