Audio problems using new gps rom - Mogul, XV6800 General

not sure what is wrong...but after upgrading to the new gps rom i don't have any sound output when using headphones or and aux cable in the car. any ideas what could be wrong? perhaps there are some audio drivers or something missing in this new rom?
any ideas? thanks.

im having the exact same issue here.
works with the headset that was included with the phone but my aftermarket mini-usb to headphone jack adaptor doesnt work now

First post (been lurking awhile) - have the same issue, with a twist. Running the newly released 3.16 and the OEM HTC headset works with calls/WMPlayer/system sounds. But, using earbuds connected via a mini-usb to 3.5mm jack converter, I can listen to voicemail (so SOMETHING is working) but not music/system sounds (like voice prompts from GPS software). Anyone have a fix? I need to be able to use my 3.5mm converter while on my motorcycle!

Are you using the stock ROM and customizations? Did you copy the edited audiopara.csv? I remember seeing somewhere that the old audiopara file may not be compatible with 3.16.

Prior to installing 3.16, I was using the stock 2.09 as received from the factory - no tweaks or mods - and the mini-usb to 3.5mm converter worked then, but doesn't work fully after the 3.16 install (stock 3.16 with customizations).

i still haven't been able to fix this. i am using dcd's 2.0 beta rom and i have seen people saying that the audiopara file needs to be replaced. i haven't figured out how to do this though i get an error that its in use and cannot be replaced. if anyone can help me out and post the correct file to replace and tell me how i'd appreciate it. still no audio via headphones.

I just tried this on my phone and it works fine. Maybe it is the software setup that I have that lets it work?
Running SRS WOW HD with CorePlayer 1.1.3. Also tried TCPMP.

I also have the same problem with wmp and unfortunately i can't offer any help as to what to do with this audiopara file.

you put the audiopara file in \windows afaik. i have done this. i am just waiting till i go to work (where my adapter is) to test. if it fixes it i will post back...
edit; didnt work for me

Replacing the audiopara file didn't fix anything for me, either.

yep, replacing the audiapara file didn't fix anything for me.
please keep in mind i am only referring to using an adaptor and then using standard headphones or an aux line out. this is a pretty big problem for me, if anyone finds a fix please let me know.

searched registry for "audio" founf an entry named audio-out and it has a subfolder named pin
sounds right but i dunno
also..checking voicemail works for me as well but the volume is way too low to hear

are you talking about dcd's custom 2.0 rom?

My problem is with the stock 3.16 ROM, installed with customizations.

I had a problem about 2 days into the new stock rom... audio manager wouldnt play, would only scroll through song files non-stop, windows media player wouldnt load, then my ringer stopped working.
I hard reset and re-loaded my programs 1-by-1 to make sure no probs with audio. Been working fine for 2 days now.

This is a bit of reading, but I'm trying to be as complete with the info as possible. I am running the leaked 3.16 rom with customizations on my Sprint 6800, but no other apps installed (yet) and no tweaks or hacks. I previously ran the 2.09 stock rom with customizations, and all audio output worked perfectly.
After messing with things for awhile, I can hear audio as follows:
A. Calls/Voicemail/WMPlayer/system sounds using the following:
1. OEM headset
2. Jabra wired headset when using the HTC usb to usb/2.5mm adapter
B. Call audio and Voicemail using a non-OEM headset and an aftermarket usb to usb+3.5mm adapter, but no WMPlayer or system sounds
I've done numerous soft resets and 3 hard resets to try to get audio output working as I had with the 2.09 rom. I'm no expert at these things, so I'll defer to those who mess with them more than I, but it appears to me that the leaked rom reconfigured the usb port output so that certain audio is no longer directed to a pin or pins that used to be live in prior rom versions. If this is not the case, why do I hear call and voicemail audio, but no music or system sounds, while using a non-HTC adapter? Please feel free to poke holes in my guess.
This may be what watson540 was getting at.

yes, i am using dcd's 2.0 rom...but that doesn't seem to matter as many on sprint not using a custom rom but any rom based off the leaked gps rom are having audio problems.
i get no audio using an adaptor to plug in a standard headphone jack, or a line out. i'm not talking about bluetooth headphones, but just a standard headphone with an adaptor. additionally, these are not the stock headphones that come with the mogul. anything plugged in with the adaptor no longer works on my sprint mogul and its extremely frustrating.
i have tried hard resetting, reloading the rom, and loading a differnt audiopara file...nothing works that i've tried.

The same issue.
Works OK with stock headphones, but not with this adapter:
http://www.semsons.com/2miusband3st.html
I'm still able to hear voice (phonecall, voicemail etc.) using adapter, but no sound from WMP, TCPMP etc.
Tested with modified audiopara.csv and with the original from the ROM.
Adapter worked OK with 2.17 ROM, but no luck with the new one.

Can anybody fix the resume-music-problem?

Can anybody fix the resume-music-problem?
I'm using a XDA neo (s200) and a Logitech HS200 bluetooth headset.
It's always the same problem: When I am listening to music and a phone call comes in, everything is fine. But when the call ends it's getting worse. Either the music resumes playing on my neo, or just nothing happens.
I recognised that a lot of A2DP-user have the same problem!!
So I hope it's just a dll/reg-problem which can be solved.
I already started to find some workarounds. But nothing helps.
After the call, I can press nearly every button on the headset, but nothing helps. When I manually enter the WM-Player and push the play-button again, the music seems to resume, but there is no sound, or the music comes out of my pda. It's strange: I can use the control-buttons on my headphone, but there is no music at all.
When I want the music back on my headphone, the only way is soft-resetting my neo. This is very annoying and takes a lot of time.
This my configuration:
XDA neo (s200) /O2-Verison, but it's nearly "O2-cab-free"
Logitech HS200
Windows Media Player 10
Mort-Player
I've installed A2DP in two different ways:
- automatic (via A2DP_hack.cab) and also
- the manual way
==> No difference
Everything else is working fine. No sound quality/hissing-problem. As long as nobody calls me, all buttons are woking fine.
I would be very glad, if some of you guys could fix this problem! I mean, it's awesome, that you could bulit up this a2dp-stuff! But at the moment, this a2dp-solution is just the half way. We need a way-back to resume our music!!
So PLEASE ROCK ON!
help!
I'm getting crazy because of this resume-problem.
For your interest:
I told you, that after a call, the music resumes on my pda, or it just stop.
Now I found out something: After a call the music just starts when I'm still in the WM-Player.
When I leaved the player before a call comes in (music is still running) the music won't resume on my pda. Just nothing will happen, until I work on the pda.
Hope this could be useful for you.
I don't think, that my headphone is the problem. When there is no call, I can always switch the music from pda to headphone and the other way by pressing the backward- and forward-button button on my headphone at the same time.
When I do this button-trick after a call I can still switch music from headphone (without sound) to pda. When I want the music back from pda to headphone it seems to work, cause I can use every button to control WM-Player, but there is no music.
What can I do???
Please help me.... I'm so sad.
I have the same problem!
Now I have to use my A2DP stereo headset like a simple wireless stereo hadphones 8(
My hardware:
Qtek S200
WM5, ExtROM 2.9.7 with "Smartmobile.se Enable A2DP" path
Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 stereo headset
yeehaaaa
it finally works! i love you guys!
How did u fix it?

simple & easy: just search your wireless lan cable and connect it to your xda. after that you have to take a bucket full of energy (I think half full would be enough) and jump around your xda while it's fighting with your activesync!
no, just kidding.
just have a look into this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284344&page=3
there you will find a download. (page 3)
please keep in mind, that this seems to be quite experimental! it's working with AKU 3.3 A2DP! The author of it recommends to delete the old a2dp-stuff before installing the new cabs.
Due to the fact that I made a complete new installation of my Xda NEO, I could directly install the AKU 3.3 cabs.
And what can I say? Everything works just fine! No more stupid reset after call!
Have fun!

Thanks for ponting out the correct direction. I got that file and installed on my G4 XDA Neo (QTEK AKU2.2 original ROM). It worked perfectly. Always automatically swtich between stereo and hand free mode.

Bet You Xda Experts Can't Solve This One...

I bet you XDA experts can't solve this one:
I used to be able to connect my Mogul to my car stereo, via the analog headphone jack, and then take/make calls using my bluetooth headset all at the same time.
But after updating the firmware in my Mogul (I think it was the upgrade to WM 6) I was no longer able to do this. And now, while playing music with the Mogul, when a call comes in I first have to physically unplug the phone from the car to be able to hear the caller on my bluetooth headset.
Is there a registry fix for this problem?

Not enough information here to help you (need ROM / Radio versions, etc).
Reflash the phone with no other programs installed and try to see if program still exists.
I do this all the time with no issues on 3.39 and 3.1.6, must be your configuration.

Here is my info:
Phone: Mogul on Sprint network
ROM: DCD 3.1.2
Radio: 3.39.10
I'm using a Y-cable that separates power (female USB) and headphone (female 3.5mm stereo) connections.
I then have a USB cigarette lighter adapter for power and a standard 3.5mm male/male stereo cable going to my radio's aux input.
This all worked flawlessly before upgrading the ROM to the first one that included Windows Mobile 6.
And yes I have tried re-flashing several times and with different ROMs.
Could it be a hardware problem?

Bluetooth and MSVC

I am in the process of moving from a TP to a TP2, and am configuring the latter, however (and I have seen this problem elsewhere regarding this phone) I cannot get my bluetooth headset to play nice with MSVC. Specifically the button to initiate the call.
I have tried the steps listed by bengalih and all should work. From what I have read, they are using a different bluetooth stack for the TP2 which is the issue.
So I have a few questions.
1. Has anyone got the headset button to activate MSVC successfully?
2. Is there a way to change the bluetooth stack without changing the ROM
3. will changing the ROM fix this? Any way I can tell which ROMS will have a working bluetooth stack?
I have Vodafone UK branded model.
This is I think the last thing that I need to make the phone 'functional' for my daily use, and so would be really grateful for any advice.

1. Yes, with certain headsets that will allow a verrry loooong press without turning off.
2. I suppose it's theoretically possible, but I do not know for sure.
3. Yes. Some of the cooked roms work fine with MSVC and bluetooth headsets on the TP2.
Could you give examples of the cooked roms that work?
Cheers

any trick or hack we can borrow from "bt-MSVCworking roms" and transplant in stock roms? maybe a skilled dev might try to do something.... PLEASE guys!

Flashing now and will confirm experience with my two headsets shortly.
EDIT:
Only had time to test the specific problem identified at the start - both headsets work fine now. Hurrah. I do not know the specifics behind why, or if this will apply to all 6.5 based roms. But for anyone desperately seeking a resolution the headset initiation of MSVC, using the ROM above does fix it. And so far the NRG ROM does seem good.

I currently use EnergyROM version 20090822 (Titanium) with MSVC 1.6.21040.
Thanks to those above for their help.
thank you for the contribution, but for who is keeping stock rom, any possible solution??? I would sell my soul for this...
A "stand alone solution" for Touch Pro2s with an original ROM would be great. Possibly one of the ROM cookers can extract it for us.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Klaus
that would be really appreciated!!!
Got it to work, but...........
Hi I have a TP2 with MSVC installed. I got it to work by editing the regsitry and swapping SDDialer.exe with voicecmd.exe. It works great. I press the button on my bluetooth headset and MSVC is invoked.
The only problem is that the voice commaned that i say has to go through the TP2 microphone not the bluetooth headset microphone. Any one knows how to direct the audio input to the headset microphone???
I am using Miri cooked ROM 23017 with manila v2.5

this bluetooth activation is a real bugger!! does the audio from VC go to the device loudspeaker, or BT headset? that would be a beginning, somehow...
any luck with cyberon voice commander yet?

Well I have the Voda version of the TP2 and I also have a spare to play with (I cracked the screen on my first one and got a new one but they never asked for the old one back - it works fine) so I loaded the EnergyROM from a link elsewhere on this thread on to it. My bluetooth headset does not work with the Cyberon Voice speed dial program which I prefer - although this ROM does alow you to put all sounds through the headset. It worked fine on my old TyTn from Voda. Like you said, this is a real bu**er!

mmmh I'm becoming more and more obsessed with this. I googled everywhere but found anything... someone reports msvc and cvc as working, someone else not.. but nobody says it's working from BT headset... blame on htc that forgot such an important thing!

It's all true
I understand that on the Telus ROM MSVC works with Bluetooth out the box
MSVC and CVC do work, UNLESS you want to use Bluetooth, when they don't (with stock ROMS in the EU) ;-)
I'm using MSVC on NRGs Genesis ROM and it works from Bluetooth as it should. If I get a Chance I'll install CVC and give it a try and report back.
Gordon
it would be nice if someone can mange to transplant needed files... I like the bluetooth stack on TP2, really better than usual, but this thing needs more attention from HTC and the 3rd party developers.
msvc is 3 years old as of now, no newer versions, same as cvc... too bad, technology evolved a lot it 3 years, and these programs might improve really really much!! especially the recognition algorythm, and functions.
well, I hope the new wm6.5 will bring some BT improvements for TP2 then...do not want to stick with custom roms yet. keeping my fingers crossed!
should you manage to try, let us know about cvc and make a little comparison for us! you lucky! ;-)
cheers
I´m usign Smaberg´s Touch X "HERO" EDITION and VC works just fine.

I've had this problem sometimes on my VZW CDMA Touch Pro 2. my solution has been to turn off the headset and turn it back on. It seems the problem starts for me when I have the headset on when rebooting the phone. Possibly MSVC doesn't detect the presence of the headset or something to that effect.

1.6 stopped headphones

after the 1.6 update i can no longer use my headphones. i was able to use them with toggle headset widget before. anyone know how i can fix this?
anyone have a solution, i cant listen to music
Me too
I'm having this exact problem. It was odd; when i first installed 1.6 the headphones flicked on and off for all of 5 minutes and then stopped working fully. I have the standard usb to 3.5 converter that came with the phone, and it seems to work in another device.
I tried a couple of fixes that had been suggested to people having a similar problem when they had upgraded to cupcake but neither of these worked.
Halp would be appreciated
What radio version you guys have?
First thing i read on your reply was about cutting throuats and spreading cheese which totally threw me...
Anyway, am using CyanogenMod 4.1.999, and if i'm right in thinking radio and baseband are the same thing..... 62.50s.20.17H_2.22.19.261
I just updated to the latest mod 4.1.9999 and still it won't recognise the headset. It is the original one that came with my G1.
Have searched fairly extensively and can't find anything.
Any pointers or suggestions would be very useful.
theres an app called sound route switcher, its updated and i heard it works, but i dont have a credit card, wish someone would update headset toggle widget

[ISSUE] [SOLVED] 3.5 Audio headphones not working after ROOT!! :S

Hi.
After doing the root method posted yesterday, i found, today, going out to
street, that my standard 3.5-miniplug audio headphones don't work at all!
Before ayone suggests, of course i tried more than 5 different headphones, which are working fine on other phones. I tried both using the mic-included original sony cable, and third party ones.
I also tried to reboot, several audio apps, but not even system sound works. It's like Android never notices that there is something plugged onto audio jack.
Anyone experiencing this? Please kindly someone test it and feedback... :S
NEVER MIND... I found Post #6 of Guide thread... turned out i searched 'headphones' not 'headset' as biktor_gj wrote... (that's for the 'use the search !!!!!!') shouters'
