Please help. Titan won't start up. - Mogul, XV6800 General

The last thing I was doing was removing the HTC Plug In, it asked me to reboot and i did, now it is stuck in a never ending cycle of reboot. The furthest it gets is to the Microsoft start up screen then it shuts down and starts all over. I tried removing the battery and starting. Nothing works. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you have a back up saved you your computer/SD card I sugest a hard re-set (take SD card out while you hard re-set), you can do a hard re-set w/o a backup but I usualy like to keep one, I hate having to take 30min to hand transfer my contacts to my HTC Mogul, hope that help's you..

yeah, I did do a back up, I am hoping to not have to do that though. If it does come to that, how do I restore it? DO I have to reload the HTC data backup program and then direct it to the back up file?

The reboot loop can sometimes be stopped just by removing the SD card and soft resetting.

Yup, tried that. Oh well, looks like a hard reset for me! Thanks guys.

Can't hard reset?

Anyone have this problem?
Two things going on...I had the miniSD card out for a while and after soft resets the unit is creating a folder called "StorageCard" and renaming my real card to "StorageCard2". That is at least a problem I can try to work with.
But later that same evening, I tried to upgrade DinarSoft TapText from 1.1 to 1.3. Lots of problems and never did get it upgraded. Now my phone hangs at the blue Windows Mobile screen.
I have been able to get it to come up again twice by taking the battery out for a while, but the next soft reset produces the same frozen screen.
During one of the times it was working, I restored with Sprite the system folders (didn't both restoring the data). It soft reset and came back fine, but not since then.
I pressed the hard buttons to hard reset, get a black screen that tells me to press the Send button to restore factory defaults. I press the send button and it hangs at the blue screen again.
I have several backups, but I can't get to use them!
Has anyone experienced this?
Have you tried clearstorage or VJEschaton?
V
If I can get the unit to finish booting once more, I will try clearstorage That is the only way I have had to hard reset in the past.
And I should havbe know you would have an app for this, too
But since I can't get it to boot to install it or read the card...I think I am stuck until I can get past that point.
I have the battery out now and am truly appreciating my phone fetish and my three other phones
2+ hours with no battery and it came backup. Then I could use ClearStorage and restore from several days ago...to make sure I didn't restore the problem.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Freezing HTC Vario II/TyTN

Hi there,
I have done a reasonable amount of reading around the forum to try and figure out if i can sort my phone out, but want to make sure i have tried everything i can!
Basically my phone crashed a couple of days ago, and i ended up removing the battery to get it to respond and switch back on. Only now it stays on the first white T-Mobile screen that appears. I know i can do a hard rest on the phone to bring it back to it's factory default state, but i have sooo many contacts and other info on the phone that i really need to retrieve before clearing it.
Is it possible at all to get these back, or am i stuck with a Hard reset and losing everything?
Any info that could help me would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Am afraid its looking like a hard reset dude, but i would DEFINATLY recommend getting a free exchange accoutn with somebody like mail2web or even DeniaLs own service on here.....your contacts are just a sync away even after a hard reset or ROM flash so you dont need to back them up every time you reset or flash.

help please! weird startup =S

hey people, im pretty new on here, but had my wizard for a while now, no problems with it, but the other day, it froze, so i did a soft reset as ya do, poked the button, and waited for it to load the O/S. I left it for 8 hours, and kept resetting it again and again. But it kept freezing on the windows mobile splash screen. By luck ive got it working again, i plugged it into my mains charger, and for some reason it loads up no problem. It will not load if plugged into USB, or by internal battery. When it freezes, the green light flashes, as if its working fine.
Another thing, when its not plugged in, the O/S number and other numbers on the first O2 splash screen take longer to show up as when its plugged in to the wall and does load.
Anyone got any ideas why its doing this?
Just annoying when im not at home, and it happens to crash, cant turn it on again =(
Cheers!

First, while you have it hooked to the mains charger, download and run ClearTemp, to clear out your hard drive of unwanted and unnecessary files. All that rebooting and freezing could be symptomatic of a full drive. Lastly, move your personal information to an SD card with DotFred's PIM Backup, and do a hard reset to really scrub the memory on the phone, then reinstall your data afterward.
If that fails to produce the desired results, try getting your hands on a new battery and see if that doesn't solve your problems...Seem to be a lot of folks with battery failures these days. Must be end-of life on the original hardware (which, to be fair, is about four years ago...unheard of in the current technology climate).

Wing in continuous reboot

I installed sktools on my wing to get rid of my phantom alarm. So I decided to do a backup of my phone to my sd card while in the sktools program.
It said that after finishing it would soft restart my phone twice. I said ok. It started backing up my files and didnt even get done all the way. It was in the process of backing up my email when it suddenly restarted. Now thats all it does is restart. I removed the battery hoping that would maybe stop it but when i put the battery back in and turn it on, it keeps restarting. I tried to do a hard reset but it wont work.
thanks for your help
Kara
Did you try holding the two softkeys (the buttons above the left green call button and right end call button) as the phone was turning on?
yeah i did, it didnt work.
I figured it out though. one of the .dll files was corrupt.

Is my HD2 dead?

All of sudden, my HD2 died on me when I was using it with CoPilot during my driving. I stopped my car, took out the battery & back on and powered it on. Then loaded up some apps before it started to reboot again. And again. Until it reached the point where it just shows the "HTC" logo and freezes there. I left it switched off for a few days.
Now, today, I powered it on, it showed the HTC logo and then shut down. No reboot.
I have not done a reset yet as I need some data off from it first.
Standard Windows Mobile v6.5. That's it. I can't even get the red text at the HTC logo to come up with the radio number & other details.
Does anyone know what the issue is? Is there a way to get it bacjk up & running without losing my data?
Thanks all
First try a factory reset, press both volume up and down hold in then press the power button wait until you get the banded screen then the white screen - read the instructions.
If its booting its not bricked
Remove your sd card recover what you need then reformat it useing the pc, try EASEUS free edition remove all pertitions before formating
When its booted back correctly, I would consider a task 29 then reinstall the rom of your choice (the search option works well) Good luck
OK, after trying a few battery unplug/plug, I finally got the red text to come up...
R - 2.07.51.22.2
G - 15.32.50.07U
D - 1.66.76641
But it's still stuck at the HTC logo.

Thanks, I assume doing the factory reset will wipe off whatever I have on the phone memory?

Yes a hard reset will remove all of your personal data and settings. Before you Hard Reset if you have not already done so. Check your battery pons to make sure you do not have a pin that is slightly bent. I say do thiscause you said it started bootlooping when hou took the battery out, I recommend using the reset button to soft rese.
Also try placing your HD2 in the freezer for like 10 minutes in a plasgic bag to protect it againsg moister and then see if it will boot. Also remove your SD card and see if that helps.
Has given up, did a factory reset and all is good. But sad about the data loss.
Nevermind, moving onward!
Thanks for the helps, all.
