Hi,
I have my XDA now for about 2 weeks, so I'm actually a newbie ;-)
I was searching the forum but couldn't find an answer to my questions. They're all about my new storage card.
1. How can set up the htc photo manager, that the pictures, which are shown, are coming from a folder on the storage card and not on the phone itself?
AND how can set up the camera, that pictures will be stored on the card?
2. How can set up the htc video manager, exactly the same way?
3. Does anyone of you can recommend a player for divx movies? I found some threads, but all of them weren't actually satisfying.
Thanks in advance and if I was just not able to find a thread, please link it.
Cheers
Yves
1. the HTC Camera Album will take any images saved in your storage card/DCIM/100MEDIA directory
2. Same as above
3. I have Divx Mobile installed. It's not perfect though...

Hi, this is my first post believe it or not.
So: Hello Everyone.
This is the issue:
I use Media Player on my computer to access a Turkish Soccer TV Channel (Subscription Based). Since I purchased a T-Mobile branded Magician, and a WiFi SD Card, I would like to be able to watch it on my PDA, as well.
First problem: Media Player is trying to use the free space on the main memory to buffer. Therefore I get "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation." Also, when I am able to see video, it freezes every 2 seconds.
Second problem: I was not able to find any place to change buffer settings.
Question: How can I change these to enjoy high quality (367 Kbps) video on my PDA, for personal enjoyment and show off to others. Also, how can I configure the media player to use the free space on the SD not main memory?
Thank you.
You don't..
You do NOT want to use your SD cards memory for this..
The reason?
You have about 5 to 10 thousand write operations before the storage "cell" on the SD card is "worn out"..
Well, you do the math..
367kbps is a lot of data, many RW operations..
It would kill your SD card after a "short" time..
The only way to solve this is by using the RAMDISK patch, and use that as buffer memory..
If this is doable, I'm not sure..
Your other option is installing the translated 2003SE ROM, it has WMP10..
I couldn't find the patch on the ftp server. Could you tell me under which directory it is located?
Thank you.
Should be under the WM2005 directory..
I don't have access to port 21 right now, so I cant confirm anything..
Search for "RAMDISK" and "BUZZ"...
Then you'll find the files and instructions..
Is it possible to have videos stored on the SD card appear in the video manager interface in the cube? It's strange and frustrating that music files on the SD card will appear in the audio manager, but not pictures of videos, at least that I can find. am I missing something?
Hi, i´m new in this, but:
move your video files to a folder called DCIM\100MEDIA.
It's what I did, and it works.
Probably there is a better way, but i'm a beginner.

Thanks. this works for my pictures, but if I put videos into that folder, I still can't see them. do I need different sub-folders for pics and vids?
I moved my videos from my old nokia to that folder and I can see them in the video app in te cube. Mi software is the Vodafone spanish version, may be differences. Sorry.
What format are your videos in? Probably only works for formats that the camera will take movies in. i.e. not if they're .avi's.

Hello, maybe these questions was answered before, but i did not find any answer using search, sorry.
1. I'd like to know if there is a way to set up an mp3 as an wake up alarm? If yes how? Where do i have to put my mp3?
2. I added some mp3 in my documents/music folder. But when i open media player the text appears 'Media search in progress...' and it stays so and never finds any. What's wrong?

I use Burr Oak's pTravelAlarm.
It reads mp3 files, operates far better than the standard alarm feature and does exactly what you are looking for.
Beards
I'm not totally sure because I can only write for my hermes. Still waiting for the HD.
1. It seems WM doesn's support that. But there's a free programm called GAlarm which is said to work on the hd. It also offers a lot of features you might like.
2. I hoped it's only with windows MP not with the one from HTC. That's also a problem with WM when this files are on your Storage card. You have to copy all your files to the PC. Format the card and re copy the files.. voila it should work. If your Files are not on the storage card I cannot help you sry.
Well the micro sd card was formatted, because it's new, i just put it into the phone and copied only that folder. (i made a folder called music with mp3 inside). well will try to format again!

actually i noticed that that's HTC Player that does not work for me, always saying 'searching media...' where WMP works fine.
Hi all just some more questions regarding windows mobile.
can i change the default folder that the phone goes to(currently my pictures on My device) when i go to view my pictures within the pictures app in media folder of spb panel? (not when using the media panel)
Is it possible to make it so beamed items are stored in memory card and not defaulted to my device?
I would also really like to know how you guys would recommend to set up your files on the storage card? e.g. would you recommend setting the folders up like they are in my documents as default on the device?
its just that everything seems geared towards storing media on the device itself. but obviously this isnt going to work out when i have alot of media
answers much appreciated, thanks
Sorry but a really noob question ..........
Where do I put music and video's so that the default app's find them?
I thought the SD card was 'external_SD' so that's where I put the music folders. But then, when I try to navigate to that on the phone, there's nothing in there. And also, when I open the music app' it doesn't show anything that I've added!!
So can you tell me where you put audio and video files please.
Sorry, I really show know this but it's not something I've done on any of my phones before!
Thanks in advance for you help.
SDCard : Internal Storage ,the 16Gb build in
External SD : The micro SD (T-Flash) you insert into phone
And inside Windows Explorer ,it should be two drives ,say ,Drive E and Drive F ,one is internal ,one is external
Hope this help
I think memory your looking at is the built in memory. I put some video files in the folder marked media and it found them ok. If you want to find the external memory you need to go to settings, wireless and network then usb utilities to connect tovpc. Thenn i just put all my music on there. Again it found them ok.

Right, I've done the music files. I've dumped them in the 'Music' folder in the above screenshot and it appears to have found them. The only annoying thing is that it's sorted each song alphabetically and not by track number!
Now I just need to work out where to put videos.
I also still can't see, from my screenshot of the folder structure above, where my SD card is. If it is that 'external_SD' then why aren't files showing when I explore it on the phone?
And does the Note not play .mov files? I've transferred some across but when trying to open them it states, "No applications can perform this action".

right click, create a folder in the "media" folder called "videos". put your videos in there
