Hi all just some more questions regarding windows mobile.
can i change the default folder that the phone goes to(currently my pictures on My device) when i go to view my pictures within the pictures app in media folder of spb panel? (not when using the media panel)
Is it possible to make it so beamed items are stored in memory card and not defaulted to my device?
I would also really like to know how you guys would recommend to set up your files on the storage card? e.g. would you recommend setting the folders up like they are in my documents as default on the device?
its just that everything seems geared towards storing media on the device itself. but obviously this isnt going to work out when i have alot of media
answers much appreciated, thanks

Forgive me if this is an obvious question, obviously im familiar with how to do all these things in actual windows, but being new to pocket pc windows im stuck with these kinda thing!
I've put my mp3s in a folder on my mini sd card. The standard view is the name of the mp3, then the date, then the size, in a list. Can i change them so it just displays the name and no other information, or so that it shows icon view rather than list view ?
Basically, the way you can in windows xp by clicking view/icons in any folder?
Thanks in advance.
I have a Jasjam and I want to be able to sync music from windows media player 11 to a directory on my memory card and can't find a way to change where wmp11 puts files, it uploads them to the main memory
as far as I can tell theres no way to change this
any ideas
I think you can sync to the card rather than the device.
I saw the option the other day, but didnt invetigate. will c n reprt bak
yeah i think if you click next device, it works its way to the storage card (if that is an option for you)
Hi,
I have my XDA now for about 2 weeks, so I'm actually a newbie ;-)
I was searching the forum but couldn't find an answer to my questions. They're all about my new storage card.
1. How can set up the htc photo manager, that the pictures, which are shown, are coming from a folder on the storage card and not on the phone itself?
AND how can set up the camera, that pictures will be stored on the card?
2. How can set up the htc video manager, exactly the same way?
3. Does anyone of you can recommend a player for divx movies? I found some threads, but all of them weren't actually satisfying.
Thanks in advance and if I was just not able to find a thread, please link it.
Cheers
Yves
1. the HTC Camera Album will take any images saved in your storage card/DCIM/100MEDIA directory
2. Same as above
3. I have Divx Mobile installed. It's not perfect though...

There's a registry entry that declares a folder which is not scanned by Audio Manager. It is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\C onfig:ring_tone_path
By default it would be "\My Documents\My ringtones\" (don't know for sure, I'm on a dutch ROM atm). You can change this to another location if you like, but I it won't take a location on your storagecard, unfortunately. It means you will have to keep ring-tones in the device memory. For me this is no problem because I only carry a few dozen tones with me.
thx for reply.i have done this by using Resco Explorer.all the folders that contains ringtones and files i do not want to show up in music tab i simply set as hiden.that did the trick for me.manila will no longer pick them up.

Click to collapse
Thanks for this, this has helped improve matters somewhat, but I still have a folder full of audio books (very large, so needs to be on storage card) that still show up and I would rather they didn't. Any one know of a way of hiding these from Audio Manager?
Every time i load a rom or anything and try to find my music on my phone...it also adds ALL the system sounds to my playlists...wtf...how can one jam when your hearing chimes and dings after a tight song!?!?!!?! if someone has any insight on this please reply! there's got to be a faster way other than manually deleting each system sound out of the playlist....
i remember when i was using WM (currently on android for past 2+ months), i achieved this with the wonderful "pocketplayer". i didn't use it as much on the hd2 because of known compatibility issues, but i believe a new WM6.5 compatible version has been released recently by conduit (previous version was only compatible with up to WM6.1).
what i'm trying to say is that most default players act "dumb" when it comes to scanning your library. pocketplayer has a very configurable library (much like the desktop winamp) and allows choosing SPECIFIC folders to "watch" as your library. i had it point to ONLY my music folder and i was good to go. i could add/remove songs from the folders using a file manager etc and pocketplayer would gracefully update its library.
give it a go and let us know!
Try S2P, that to can be set to a specific folder.
Resize your album art or find better pics and resize them to 480x480, save as folder .jpg in each album folder and you'll love it.
folders on storage card can be excluded in registry
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Config]
"sd_exclude_path_path_1"="\\FOLDER_1_PATH"
"sd_exclude_path_type_1"=dword:00000000
"sd_exclude_path_path_2"="\\FOLDER_2_PATH"
"sd_exclude_path_type_2"=dword:00000000
etc. etc.
in the same place there is also a key "device_scan_path_path", not sure what it does though, and - alas - have no time to check
