any advice on the problem ? thanks

So here is my story. I installed a new digitizer for my broken HD2 screen, and ended up creating a crease on the ribbon cable. I managed to also break off half of the lock-in bar (the black bar) on the socket, but it still locks half of the other pins down and in place.
Heres the problem.
I turn on the phone, and the screen lights up but doesn't show me my display. The backlight IS on, but isn't showing the bootup, or anything. I DID manage to get it to show the screen by messing with the cable, but only for a few seconds and then it wouldn't anymore. The phone functions fine, I had a friend send me a text and the phone vibrated, and when I pressed the lock button it locked and unlocked (for my Android ROM). I know it did this because the backlight would turn on and off on the LCD.
Would buying a new LCD fix the problem or does that little black bar on the socket matter? I figured all it did was lock the pins in place so it shouldn't be a big deal..
there is 3 ways out of that.
One put a tape over the back side of the flex. it might work sometimes, but not reliable
Two buy a new socket from ebay and resolder it.
Three hardcorely wire them. It is possible I fixed a broken volume flex before.
the lock does not just hold the cable in place it also pushes it down on the contact face.
You may be able to pack the ribbon on the back to help it fit tighter in the sock & increase pressure to the mating faces, hopefully the rest of cable is serviceable ! extra lock security can be added with tape & ribbon can be reinforced with tape too if helps.
As I have not managed to replace the display on the phone - I unfolded it again I do not know how but my LCD broked, so when I returned the old broken screen then the phone just turn on the lights but screen is dimmed black and there is nothing further..
all this, becose i didnt have appropriate sticky tape for lcd
any ideas what now ?
your LCD could be damaged by ESD, but first try reattaching flex, and check under microscope that flex is not broken, end of flex where are contacts is very sensitive on bending (contacts can break)
Hi guys, I picked up a 1st gen 8GB Nexus 7 from eBay, it was sold as faulty (they said it doesn't power on) it does actually power on, Windows 7 connects and i can access the storage and i can hear my finger presses on the screen so i know it's powered on and the digitizer is working however there is no display whatsoever, i have taken the back off and reseated the battery connection and all ribbon cables to the digitizer / LCD assembly and nothing, the LCD looks immaculate there are no fractures or bleeding, absolutely no signs of damage yet it just stays black? I suspect the short ribbon cable to the LCD is at fault but before i order a replacement is there anything else you guys can think of?
Hi all.
Looking for help fixing my galaxy A3.
We broke the lcd screen so decided to fix it our selves.
In removing the broken Lcd we broke the light tabs at the bottom on the USB board.
Now, I have just replaced the USB/ light board at the bottom.
But from memory I thought that the lights still worked whilst the lcd screen was removed.
Now, before I order the new lcd screen, Is there a way I can test the USB socket and touch lights actually work?
Or it will be pointless sticking on a new screen.
Thanks guys.
I have a G530, the Tmobile version, though fully unlocked, rooted, etc. I had cracked the digitizer and while waiting for a new one I dropped it again and the LCD popped out with the digitizer, disconnecting itself and would come back on after that. I got a new LCD and attached it to the board (disassembled) and all worked. I mounted the board back in the case and reattached everything but then only the backlight would turn on during initial boot. The connection seemed loose and after 2-3 reconnects I got my display to work, but while attaching the digitzer, the glass at the very top, just before the lcd starts broke... So I got ANOTHER lcd and digitizer (They're cheap) This LCD only gives the backlight at initial power on, with no display response, but no matter what I do, I can't get it to kick on like the last one.
I'm trying to get an idea if it is the new LCD, or if my connector on the board is broken, It looks like maybe a bit of plastic at the top broke off.. and is making the connector a bit loose. Since I get a backlight, anyone have any experience as to which is more likely broken? I'm not sure if power from the connector goes straight to the backlight, or if it goes to the LCD first, and if I would get a backlight with a bad LCD. These are cheap $25 LCD & Digitizer bundles from Amazon, like 'Mencia' brand so good chance I could have gotten a new one that is dead.
I'll try to get another up close shot of the connector, this magnifying app didn't focus in as well and you cant see the individual connectors as well, but they are fine, its the very top part of the connector looks a bit smaller. The bottom part has a piece of metal sandwiched between the plastic, but the top doesn't have a bit of plastic after the metal tab, of course, it could be absolutely nothing :s
