I was setting up a friends AT&T Tilt and noticed under bluetooth settings a tab called FTP. With this option I can enable bluetooth explorer and enable file sharing and from another tilt I can browse the others bluetooth shared folder. Is this possible on the Mogul? I don't have that tab under bluetooth settings on the mogul.

A workaround to enable Resco Explorer BlueTooth file transfers.
Uncheck Use IrDA via OBEX under General Options.
Select the file for transfer and choose Send To - Infrared Recipient...
This will take you to the Beam File... (Beam) screen similar to the one when you want to transfer files using IrDA / BT in File Explorer.
If the Xda II and the target device BT is enabled detection and transfer as per normal.
Took me a couples of days to figure that out too..
Good post.
Great, I was expecting someone to find something for resco explorer
Thanks
where can I download the resco explorer from?
I am using i-mate PDA2K with Windows 2002 but I couldn't send any bluetooth
message so far?
i use the file explorer to browse the vailable bluetooth devices near to me
but it's just showing Searching and nothing happens after that?
what is the problem?

Hi. How do I send a file via Bluetooth ? I paired with another mobile (Nokia - symbian OS) but I still can't find a way to send any file. In File Explorer it gives me options like "send via email" or "beam" - but no Bluetooth option.

The native file explorer doesn't support bluetooth sending. You should try some 3rd party file-explorer. I use Resco Explorer. I just upgraded to the latest version (Resco Explorer 2005) and i must say, it really works like a dream. And you can send files using bluetooth.
However, Resco Explorer is shareware. If you want freeware, you can also look for other good file explorers like 'Total Commander' and GS Finder, although they don't have all the extra usefull features that Resco Explorer give.

The built in explorer WILL send file via bluetooth. The "Beam" will search for all IR and Bluetooth devices. Just hit beam and wait, you will see the devices ID address come up first then there ID name will appear. Then just tap the "send" command next to the device ID your sending to.
I tried the beam - it searches only for Infra devices - not bluetooth. It doesn't even list the paired devices.
I installed Resco Explorer - and it does give me an option to send a file through Bluetooth from that.
*edit*
@ampda
Ok. He is right. It does search for bluetooth in Beam option also. Thanks. Works great.
I'm using version 5.1 of Resco Explorer but it seems to don't even recognize the bluetooth: :?
Has anyone got the Resco Explorer to Send Files using "Send To"- "Bluetooth Recipient". Mine just Stucks in the OBEX screen Serching.
I know the same thing happends if you dont Untick the "USE IRDA VIA OBEX" in the general options of the explorer. You get stuck in the same screen, Searching.
Start Bluetooth first and then use the above option w/o doing any changes...it detects and transfers the file superbly and with gr8 speed...
I know I can send files via bluetooth using "send to Infrared recipient" that's not a problem. I just wonder why the "bluetooth recipient " thingy doesn't work? The explorer is for WM5 so that should work I suppose. there must be something in the registry I believe to change it.
I DID TALK ABOUT "SEND VIA BT"
SH*T mine is searching, but aint finding a thing
is there any reason why any kind of obex bluetooth or infrared transfer would fail at all times i tried using the reg tweak to allow obex stuff but its still not working anyone got any ideas?

You change here:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Obex\IsEnabled "0 change to 1"
My mogul don't received Bluetooth files until I change that and works for me.
Heres a HTC Bluetooth "FTP" explorer that fixed my same issue and added a buncha bluetooth file transfer settings to the BT menu also. Let us know if it helped or not.
Hello all,
First of all I have to say that I'm a friggin noob when it comes to WM6.5 and HTC Sense PDAs.
I just bought a Diamond2 a few days ago and am trying to transfer files from my laptop to TD2 using bluetooth. On the laptop I have Bluesoleil (***.bluesoleil.com) managing my BT connections, and when I connect the TD2 it doesn't show File transfer service as available, but it it turned on on Bluesoleil. How can I activate this service on TD2? It would really help to have working.
Thank you all in advance.
Why dont u use the cable? it works much faster.
I usually do, but I don't always carry all cables around so it would be an alternative for those times. Anyway you didn't answer my initial question: What must I do to enable file transfers via BT?
Thank you.
Don't make a connection. Just activate Bluetooth (both devices), set Topaz's Bluetooth visible to other devices and select from your laptop file send via bt.
enable OBEX File Transfer Service.
you can use TD2 Tools 2d.
Use resco explorer with ftp plugin or total commander for mobile, and a ftp server on your pc, there are some good free servers available out there. Belive me WiFi is faster than bluetooth.
Bluetooth File transfer is not installed on TD2 by default. You need to install it manually (Bluetooth explorer, try search). That's the way I did it first but I don't know which file you have to download.... too long ago. An even better solution is try to find a custom ROM which already contains the BTFTP packages. But then you first have to find out how to flash ROMs
