Can the Blueangel LEDs be turned off? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

Hi there,
I wondered if anyone knows how to change settings for the two LED's at the top of a Blueangel device?
The Bluetooth is particularly bright, and its a pain flashing when trying to sleep. Even the other [power] LED is a pain when it starts flashing after the device is fully charged.
My ultimate wish would be for a program that kills the LES's when the screen is off between 10pm and 6am but hey I would just be happy to know how to kill them altogether, I am sure I could learn to live without the Bluetooth LED forever (although I can't bring myself to open up, and snip the LES's legs.)
Thanks in advance.

I think you didnt not search posts on the topic, there are number of them available for doing what you need.
Try following:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/xda-iii-mda3-pda2k-sx66-qtek9090/44396-turn-off-indicator-lights.html

Yes you can turn off Blueangel LEDs!
Thanks for the responce, the LED Off Util works a treat, dead set simple.
I noticed the link for the other Tweak app failed in the link provided, after a quick search I found the following, and the price has been cut in half, lots more options but the LED Off was free!

How about using registry tweak - search wiki and forum?

Kerio, I love the motivation you give people to Search, its great. Just for you when I get some time I will update a page on Wiki, as soon as I find out how to....
LedOff worked great for a while then failed, I uninstalled and then re-installed this time taking the error message at the start seriously. then downloaded the following and installed, I will see how this goes.

LED Off Reg Edit hack.
Kerio, you were right it was hidden amongst the many hacks.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Hacks
Using "PHM Registry Editor"
Disable the Flashing Right Side Red/Green LED
1) Go to the HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr key.
2) Rename the "Dll" value to "xDll"
3) Soft reset.
This COMPLETELY disables the right LED for ALL alerts.
The same can be done for the Left Blue LED by renaming the "Dll" value under the BWLEDMgr key.
Still I can't find a way to turn it on and off by time of day, I will keep searching...

You will not find anything - because this is absolutely useless You may write your own program - or try some scripting language (MortScript - I dont remember others name)

It just won't die...
I can't belive this, tried the LEDOff program, tried the reg hack, and it didn't work either. Well it half worked the Bluetooth LED is off, but the power LED is still blinking away.
I have now gone beyond the hack and removed the whole NLedMgr Dll key and also renamed the NLed Dll key to xDll, I will let you know how I go.

Removing the NLEDMgr.dll Reg key didn't work, the dam power LED (Right One) was still flashing all weekend.
I found another thread on the same topic today, looks like others are having the same issues as me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=235112&highlight=LEDs
Has anyone been successful turning off both LED's using WM6?
I have just put the NLEDMgr.dll key back, and did a soft boot, the LED is not flashing yet but there is a high probability it will start flashing in the next few minutes.
As per the other thread is says to set the HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr\Index key to 0, mine was already 0 so I will leave the Dll key which is set to nledmgr.dll as it was originally(rather than changing it to xDLL as per earlier posts) and see what happens.

changing the index to 0 for nledmgr worked for me.

Well it is now working however I have made that many changes I don't really know which registry setting was the final one that fixed it.
I now don't have any LED's flashing.
The Power LED (on the right) goes orange when being charged with my charge cable, and solid green when fully charged.
When in the USB sync cradle, or in the car cradle I have no LED's lit at all.
None of the Notifications make the LED's flash.
and this has been working like this for more than 24 hours.
I am using Xplodes WM6 ROM 30/11/07 Version.
Registry settings are
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLed\Flags(Dec) = 8
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLed\IClass(String) = {CBB4F234-F35F-....really long string that i didn't touch}
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLed\Order(Dec) = 0
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLed\Prefix(String) = NLD
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLed\xDll(string) = nleddrvr.dll [I did change this from Dll to xDll]
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr\dll(REG_SZ) = nledmgr.dll
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr\Index(Dec) = 0
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr\Order(Dec) = 0
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr\Prefix(REG_SZ) = LED
And the LED on the left, which I was easy to turn off.
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\BWLEDMgr\xDll(String) = BWLEDMgr.dll [I changed this from Dll to xDll]

I have just upgraded my blueangel to WM6.1 so I needed to do this hack again.
The following seems to be the key regestry settings to disable the Right Green LED.
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLed\xDll(string) = nleddrvr.dll [I did change this from Dll to xDll]
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\NLEDMgr\Index(Dec) = 0

different keys on keypad

I am using cingular 8525 with a Dopod_asia_wwe firmware. I found that some keys("." + key) on the keypad doesnt match with the OS's.
such as "." + W = @ instead of "!"
I tried to flash Australia's Jasjam version, same stuffs happened. Only when i used Cingular's firwmware I am able to get away with it.
Wonderring if there is anything i can solve this issue. e.g. key match by replacing some OS files?
Please do a search, use the search at the bottom of my signature this has probably been answered more than any other Hermes question.

search a little more next time

use the second one
also, dont forget to let the phone sit for a minute, or put it to sleep for 20 seconds before soft resetting, or hold down the power button and turn it off that way... if you dont do one of these then there is a good chance that your registry change wont save...

softbank X01HTC red light allways on (near to the IE button)

I found my Softbank X01HTC's red light(near to the IE button on top) allways on. But there is nothing wrong in function. I would like to know, if anyone have the same problem.
Are you using an app closer like the X button app by HTC? I remember that used to happen to me when I had an XDA.
Solution: Add the tmail.exe to your exception list.
I am using WM6. How to do this on my phone? what function does tmail.exe do in the PDA. But, the red light due to the hardware or ROM. Because, I can only switch off the redlight when the battery removed. When I insert the battery without boot up the PDA , the redlight still on. ...

If you still need to take that one shot when you're low on juice and use the Flash, you can edit your Registry and force the Camera Flash to fire even on low battery. For this, point your Registry editor to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Battery\ and change the default "0" value of "FlashlightpowerUnavailable" to 1, followed by a Soft Reset.

Not sure about the last redded part, maybe you shouldn't ?
I did that, nothing happened - leds are still off
It should work, I had this problem with all ROMS. On each ROM I had to tweak that registery and go into camera and everything is fine. Once rebooted you have to do it again ( I assume )
So try doing it without soft-resetting
ok, now after tweaking registry - I go to camera and the flash button is there but unavailable. Flash led still not working. (((

HD2 Backlight/Screen Problem

Hi all,
I seem to be experiancing intermittent problems with my HTC HD2 backlight/screen. When on external power with setting's "Dim after 1 min" and "turn off device after 2 Mins" the phone sometimes works as it should, other times the backlight only dims and the screen does not shut off. Real nuisence when receiving missed call's at night as the dimmed backlight stays on most of the times.
Its been back to HTC twice for repair and it seems to be coming back with the same problem after using it for a little while. On both occasions they have replaced the motherboard even though the fault sheet on the last repair said Faulty backlight. I phoned them up and the operative said the motherboard was replaced. Unless they got confused with the first repair.
However i have come across this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561832 "Post 10" which has the perfect mod for the registry, this is however aimed towards SE xperia X1 users, but has reference to it also being a HTC problem.
I have tried the following registry edit "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Power\Timeouts\ACUserIdle: 120"
and it works perfectly just as the device should, the screen dims after 1 min and screen goes off after 2mins. Here comes the problem though, the edited registry values seem to return to there default of "0" when the device is reset or after a prolonged period of time. I am using Resco Registry to carry out the editing.
Is there a way i can get the HTC HD2 to remember/save this registry edit so that when the phone is "soft reset" it does not revert the above key back to Default I thought the registry edit is saved untill a "hard rest" is carried out.
Cheers
I would of thought that someone out of the 72 people that have viewed this thread would of been able to help, maybe im wrong. Im sure this is a common problem, unless im the only one with this bizzare problem. I have tried looking at other threads and none seem to bare the same patterns. Please help me out guyz.
Have a look at Mortscript. It's a scripting tool that allows you to create small text files that run simple commands on your device. You could create one to set the registry value as needed and place it in \Windows\Startup so it runs when you start your phone.
Please! Please! Does anyone have a fix for this? I am in the same boat as the OP. The registry trick works but reverts back after reboot. I hate having to leave the backlight on when my HD2 is connected to the PC. Plus if you press the red button it disconnects from the PC. Hookers & Beer for the man who finds a fix!

Errr.... my post was an answer.
Thank you johncmolyneux, i will look into the mortscript program, You reckon it will be hard to write a program for this? i am very suprised that other members on this forum have not come across this problem.

From what I've seen of Mortscript, it should be pretty simple to do what you want. I've seen many examples around the forums and it was obviously built with ease of use in mind. Just do some searching and I know you'll find what you need.
Good luck mate

[Q] WM 6.1 issue with service and bluetooth LED

Transferred from General.
TP2 hacked a bit! Somehow disabled the flashing green service LED and the flashing bluetooth blue LED. Have orange and green charging LEDS, but no flashing LEDS.
Have done the usual HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr set index to 0 and this switches off all LEDs then back to 1 to enable.
Still no flashing service or bluetooth.
Searched forums and can only find ideas to turn them off, nothing about turning them on!
Any help please as spent many hours trying to find what registry value I have
corrupted\changed
Have looked through other posts, but no answers. Plenty of advice to turn them OFF, but nothing to turn them on when not working! Must be a hack somewhere as was originally working and do NOT want to do a hard reset.
